Superior Home Improvement was great to work with. Richard was very professional and answered all our questions and wanted to make sure we got the roof we wanted. Highly recommend Superior for your roofing needs.

MY NEW ROOF IS JUST MAGNIFICENT !

“ MIDNIGHT PLUM ” … never knew I would be so excited over getting new roof shingles with that name.

But when the CEO of Superior Home Improvement, Rich Johnson arrived to do our roof estimate, he said those shingles were going to make our house “ THE ” house in our neighborhood!

This was our 7th estimate and Rich nailed it. I hardly had to ask any questions as he covered almost everything. He was also really great with our 3 dogs who couldn't get enough of his attention (that’s our kind of person who loves animals), they still sit by the front door waiting for him to come play with them.

The 6 man crew assigned to do our roof project were unbelievably quick and well trained, you could tell they had a process. The old roof was off and the new roof finished in 2 days! That’s 4300 square feet and some very steep gables to cover. We were totally amazed! They also were very thorough in cleaning up the surrounding area, making sure there wasn’t any old shingles or nails in the grass, plant beds or on the driveway and even had a large magnetic roller to pick up every last nail- plus they all walked the around the yard and driveway again, before they left- just to be sure. They also fixed things they didn’t have to (at no charge) just to make sure the job was complete. That level of attention to detail showed us they cared that they do a good job for their customers. I can’t say enough good things about this company. This was a wonderful experience, we didn’t have to worry about anything.

We want to express our thanks and gratitude to Rich Johnson and his crew for the best home improvement project we’ve ever had, it was a pleasure to work with them all! They did a wonderful job for us, as we’re sure they do for all their clients.

AND -

Our new roof is truly “Superior” (with my ”Midnight Plum shingles”) !

Oddly enough, my review of Superior Home Improvement comes because of a scam call in which someone on the line said they are from "Superior Homes" and was "calling me back" about a bathroom/shower remodel.

My experience with this caller was so bad, that I looked up Superior Home and came across Superior Home Improvement (which I errantly assumed was the same company).

I called the number listed on their webpage and spoke with Blain to report my experience. Blain was fantastic; he took my concerns very seriously and reported them to the General Manager, Rich Johnson, to investigate (and offered to have him call me back).

I think I can state that, needless to say (even though I'm saying it), Rich called me back to follow-up on my experience, because he firmly believes in the work that Superior Home Improvement, Inc. does and values, even inadvertently, how the organization treats people.

While I am not currently in need of the services they provide (roofing, siding, windows....note, none of that is bathroom remodel), my interactions with the two men today was nothing but a positive experience. So, while I cannot yet recommend services I haven't tried, I can and do recommend the people behind the service. They listen; they care; they are thorough; they will work with you.

We're a vendor for Superior, they have always been good to work with. Honest and prompt with payments on our transactions. I'd trust them with any project you got going.

I don’t usually make reviews but superior home improvement did a great job! I was able to get a brand new, high quality roof with no money immediately out of pocket. The roofing guys were quick and effective they got my whole roof done in one day. I couldn’t believe how well they cleaned up. Thanks superior.

Superior put a new roof on my very old house. It was steep and had three layers of shingles and no underlayment. Despite this, they finished fast and as promised. I haven't found a single nail!

I would give minus -5 stars if it were possible.
Superior Home Improvement uses a Telemarketing company called Casey Jones to do sales soliciting on their behalf. Superior home improvement inc is located in Utah I am located in Pennsylvania. I have explained this to them several times yet. They continue to call me and insist that they will give me a free estimate for whatever service they offer. They call from multiple numbers and refuse to take me off their list. I explained to them that I am currently out of work and waiting for important calls from the doctor. No matter what I explained, they continue to call. this kind of sales tactic is so unprofessional and it’s not trustworthy. I would never do ever do business with a company that approaches their business strategy like this. I should call 10 times a day. It’s totally uncalled for an unacceptable. I would not recommend this business to anybody. they seem very inconsiderate and out of touch

I got a call today from this company, and I believe it was an "AI" call. Not sure. Emphasis on knowing I was a home owner, and wanted to bid me on window replacement. Cool. I asked where the company is based out of, and it said Utah. I clarified, saying that I'm from Washington state, and asked if the company was gonna drive all the way out here to bid the project. It said yes. Give me a break.

We want to give a thumbs up to Superior Home Improvement.
They replaced our roof (it's beautiful) and it took one day and two or so hours. Our unattached garage had double shingles, that plus our house and garage. They had it stripped in no time. Started the install and were done that same day! Completely cleaned up all shingles, old wood that needed replaced and left no sign other than the beautiful roof. They were quick, polite, and very efficient.
We'd been working with Rich, and Felipe that coordinated our project. We highly recommend this company.

Jeff came into our home and demonstrated their windows. He was very professional and did not push for us to order but he did show what our potential energy savings could be. The product speaks for itself. We had them install 12 windows to replace older windows that were beginning to leak. They came in and installed all of them quickly and professionally in a single day. They cleaned up after themselves including vacuuming up any debris from the installation process. They also answered any questions regarding the installation of the windows. When a problem was found on the house that could have affected the moisture seal of the window it was taken care of prior to the window being installed in that location.

I have been in contact with Jeff and John at Superior Home Improvement and I was treated with courtesy, professionalism, and respect at every stage of working with them. They are a local company with deep ties to the community and decades of business relationships rooting them to the homes and families they have worked with. In every interaction they were accommodating of my schedule, easy to deal with, and there has been no pressure to make a purchase based on limited time offers or special deals that I needed to act on right away for a large financial investment in our home. They understand that the people they work with have families and jobs and budgets that make large construction projects intimidating and I am very grateful for their patient and courteous approach to understanding my goals and our repair priorities.

On top of that, the quote they provided beat the "deal" I was offered by a national company by about 70% and the warranty will outlive me by decades.

Thank you!

My house went from "yuck we need new siding" to OMG! what a disaster under the old siding to AWESOME!!!!! Most beautiful home on the street! These guys really know their stuff. Honest, always communicate and answer all calls and questions. I would work with them and HIGHLY recommend them, any day for any project! I have more coming up and will most definitely call on them for their help and expertise!!!!

I would like to give a higher rating. But I have issues with the sales man that sold me on this service. I was all ready almost to go with another roofing company, but I wanted just one more estimate. I didn't think anyone would beat that other company's quote. But Jeff at Superior beat it by $50 dollars. Then when he said he'd put in leaf guards and new gutters both for less than $2,900. That's what closed me. Then he said he'd put on new soffit and facia for around $3,000 and wrap the garage entrance for $500. I was so impressed with the great quotes, I asked that the 5 deck posts holding up my deck be wrapped as well.which he quoted for $800. Looking back, there were red flags I should've observed. He refused to get on my roof or look in my attic to check for existing damage etc. (Which the other 4 roofing company's I got quotes from, did). He said, (which is probably true) he has some kind of disease in his arm, where he can't get on a ladder. He said he's the head honcho of the company, that if extra material is needed it'd be supplied without extra cost. He said he didn't need to do sales calls, that he's very well off. He just enjoys talking to the people, showing them his qualiy product. That he's very proud of his workers. And he's going to take them all on his house boat in Lake powell. When he wrote up the contract, I asked him if he itemized each job to be done with the price. He said he didn't need to, that since he's the Main guy he'd make sure every thing promised would be done. For $18,368 out the door. That I'm not to pay one red cent up front. Only pay after all the work is completed, with full satisfaction. He said he'd be visiting my home serveral times while the work was being done to make sure his workers were doing quality work. That all work should done in a weeks time. All the work has taken 3 weeks. I learned Jeff is not the head honcho, but only a salesman. I haven't seen him since his sales call. The owner of the company called me in the first week introducing himself, and seemed very surprised when I said, I thought Jeff was the owner! I've been very patient these 3 weeks. But I've been riled up since the rain gutter crew said they weren't putting in the leaf guards that Jeff promised me. These days Jeff doesn't seem to want to talk with me on the phone. When I texted about what he promised. He texted back that rain gutter crew is supposed to put in leaf guards. Then he sent a later text that said the leaf guards aren't on the contract. If they aren't on the contract it's because he intentional left it off. The leaf guards with the gutters is what closed me on this whole transaction. One of the main workers talked me out of wrapping my deck post. So $800 dollars needs to be subtracted from the $18,368 making it $17,568 out the door. Which I'll gladly pay to Jeff personally face to face after they put in my leaf guards.

I was contacted by a Superior agent who told me I qualified for a home energy rebate program. They sent an estimator to my house who made a very attractive pitch. They would replace all of my windows and patio door with high-end super efficient windows, and do a whole-house pressure test and significant insulation upgrades that would guarantee a minimum 40% savings on my energy bills. I was given a verbal estimate that this would all cost about $12k for my 1,800 ft2 home.

This sounded like a great deal, almost too good to believe. I do my homework on these things so I asked for some additional information:

-A written itemized estimate for the proposed work with contract terms
-A list of customer references
-The name of the company that manufactures Superior's trademarked WeatherBrite windows (Google returns zero results for "WeatherBrite" other than Superior's website)
-More information regarding the rebate/subsidy program. The estimator who came to my home told me the program started as an Obama-era Federal tax rebate program. He said that the government program had since ended, but that it was being continued by a non-profit organization. I asked him to provide the name of the non-profit so I could look into it.

The estimator said this was no problem at all and he would provide all of the information in a day or two. I did not hear from him for a week so I reached out to him myself. Several days later after multiple emails and texts he emailed me back a blank example contract and said he would follow up with the rest of the information soon. I never heard from him again despite sending multiple follow-up emails and texts.

About two weeks later I was contacted by the same agent who called me the first time. She wanted to know how my experience was with the estimator I sent out. I told her all of the above information, she apologized, and said she would have someone else contact me within a few days to answer those questions. That was over a month ago now and I never got a call.

So, when I tried to do some pretty basic due diligence about what was being offered they basically ghosted me, twice. At best, it's a rather unprofessional way to do business, and shady at worst.

I wrote a bad review for a company that goes by the same name as this one, because they kept calling me even after I told them not to and I'm on the Do Not Call Registry. I learned yesterday that this is not the same company. The company who kept calling me had an Oregon number on my Caller Id. This is a Utah company. I apologize for any misunderstanding.

UPDATE:
The project is complete and I am very happy with the work performed. I have added pictures to showcase the before/after of the window wraps and the siding & fascia/soffit on the front gable!

I have had a first class experience with Superior. I just went through the estimate process and contract so far and working with Jeff King has been awesome - highly communicative when I have had questions, no pressure, reasonable and up-front about cost, and he's also very design-savvy. I'm sure my project will go just as smoothly and will update my review with pictures after!

My Roof Replacement Experience

In late August 2022, while on vacation, a windstorm damaged some of my roof shingles. When I got home, is saw that on the northwest section of the roof, many shingles and roof vents had partially detached. The nails had pulled through the shingles or were no longer attached to the roof plywood. I reached out to Rich Johnson, General Manager of Superior Home Improvement. He offered me two options.

1. Just fix what was damaged. We would remain vulnerable to future windstorms. The next storm might do more shingle damage including internal water damage
2. Replace the whole roof and install it right; thus, I would be protected for decades to come.

After weighing these choices, we decided to replace the whole roof. They would use a higher standard of workmanship and shingle quality than the original roofing sub-contractor used in 2007. He gave me an honest and fair estimate.

I then reached out to another roof company and their estimate was initially $13,000 more than Rich’s quote. But then they kept discovering new discounts to offer and us a lower price, until it was only $8,000 higher than Rich’s. We decided to go with Superior Home Improvement

Rich Johnson promised things and delivered them.

1. He promised to work with my HOA to get approval on the roof shingles color (Quarry Gray, which I loved) and he did.

2. He gave me a date that his crew would start, and they did. They stayed working on my roof, until it was finished. They got it done in just two days.

I was impressed by the workmanship they exhibited and glad that I made the choice to go with Rich Johnson. He is a hardworking, “down to earth” principled businessman with integrity.

If you have a need for Home Improvement services like roofing, I recommend that you seriously consider Rich Johnson, General Manager of Superior Home Improvement.

Rich told us it would be months before windows were installed due to supply shortages. Sure enough it took a few months but was it worth the wait. The new windows block out noise and the summer heat. I don't even have blinds on them anymore since I enjoy looking outside. They redid the stucco trim around them. My house looks brand new. Worth the money I spent. Better news, they are lifetime guaranteed so I setpoint need to do this again.. thanks Superior!

This review has been a long time coming. We got our windows a little over a year ago, but due to circumstances, I was not able to write a review. However, I feel like I should keep my promise to write one. I have been very happy with the windows. Where my basement was always freezing cold, even in summer, it is now comfortably cool in summer or warm in winter. Our energy bills have gone down some, in spite of the rise in prices for utilities. The people who put the windows in worked efficiently, quickly and were courteous. Our special needs were taken into consideration. I feel I could recommend this company to anyone who is looking for new windows for their home.

When soliciting the elderly.. it would be a good idea to have the person reach out to family members.. especially when dealing with tens of thousands of dollars. Glad we were able to stop any work before this company started ripping out windows and doors. In fairness they were quick to return phone calls after a bad online review.

This company is great at installing windows and their products are superior. However the other work they do is not as professional. We experienced poor communication and slipshod negligence on multiple projects just to get the job done and we had to push to get satisfactory work. The worst of it was that we had them enlarge a window in our basement. They had to cut into the foundation and dig up the yard around it. What we were not told was that our side yard would be torn up and that they would cut our sprinkler pipe that was in the way of where they dug out the egress window. We were not told that they would not be fixing anything they broke or tore up in the process. They told us several times after the window was put in that they had not had to cut our sprinkler pipe. Lo and behold a week later the secondary water was turned on and the pipe that was supposedly not cut started pouring water into the hole they had dug out and covered up. We would have had a flood if our neighbors had not seen it and alerted us. They came out again and had to admit they did cut the pipe. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They may be the only company who does the Energy Conservation Program, but it's totally not worth the hassle and extra expense in fixing the mess they leave behind. If I had known this would be the result, I never would have done this.

Smell - Not so super..
Two guys came to take measurements - one of'em had strong smell of booze. I get the fact these guys have to work around some smelly stuff but it's early morning, they couldn't have possibly been busy doing anything so bad. Any who,,,this was just the measurements, hopefully installation guys will be Superior.

One of the worst experiences I've had. Superior was recommended by my HOA president so I gave them a call. The first rep wouldn't return my calls and the second rep came out and gave me a quote that was a bit higher than average though he kept insisting that it was the greatest deal despite the fact that I had received lower quotes from other companies. I requested the manufacturer's info and model numbers of the windows they use of which he provided a limited amount of info. I told him I needed to do my due diligence since it was a significant investment. I clearly explained to him that if I couldn't find out everything I needed to know before winter I would have to postpone until spring because of my schedule, weather, the holidays and heating my place wasn't an issue. The rep, Mark (I won't leave his last name) simply would not listen to me. He kept telling me there was no benefit in waiting despite me telling him why I wanted to wait. Then he told me that they were increasing the prices so If I didn't do it right now they wouldn't honor the quote even though I told him I absolutely wasn't interested in doing it this time of year. I told him I would revisit the matter at the end of February and to leave me alone. Yet he continued to press insisting he wasn't being pushy which only contradicted himself. I told him that if he contacted me again I would not just request a new rep, I would take my business elsewhere. Yet again he continued to contact me. The rep turned a yes into a no and to be frank, after all the research I've done the company uses AMI windows which are good but you can find as good or better for the money.

We participated in the Home Energy Program. I get the impression Superior's main focus with that is to sell windows. The windows we got are fine, but I'm not interested in working with Superior ever again. From beginning to end this process had problems. I think the salesperson over-promised: he said the windows wouldn't be cold to the touch in the winter, that we would have the walls between us and our neighbors insulated (that was not done) and he also said the sliding door would slide easily with just one finger (it's not bad, but it certainly doesn't do that). The energy auditor was great and recommended an interior door sweep and a change to the venting of the attic fan. Superior followed neither of these recommendations. The main installation process left a lot to be desired. Most of the workers were great, but the team leader not only didn't show up on time, he also didn't introduce his team or tell me the project plan. Additionally, he went about ordering supplies without referring to the notes he took on what we needed (he told me that when I asked why it didn't match what we had talked about), and showed up with an incorrectly manufactured window and incorrect light bulbs. When the work was finished, I couldn't tell, because he hadn't followed up on the auditor's recommendations, and he also hadn't told me exactly what the plan was. He tried to get me to sign off on the job before walking through and looking at the work. I insisted on a walk-through, and he was very annoyed. During the walkthrough, each time I pointed out something that needed to be adjusted (window latch that scraped, incorrect window, no lock on the back door, no interior sweep, etc, no weatherstripping done on the front door, etc.) his first response was to blame me for not accepting the problem as "good enough" and to put me down. He even told me that there is no such thing as an interior door sweep, implying that I was stupid to ask for one. Additionally, the stucco installer behaved in an overly familiar and physically inappropriate way as he was leaving , and the insulation installers knocked over our property and didn't clean up their mess, leaving us with insulation all over the hallway and stairs. Superior itself didn't communicate with me very well. I was told that I would get a copy of the energy audit and recommendations, and despite asking, I didn't get it until after leaving a review mentioning this fact. After posting my review, I received a letter from the owner accusing me of lying about my experiences, stating that they have no control over the quality of the products they install, and offering to pay me to remove the review. I was also very surprised to find that the loan secured for us through Superior in this program had a terrible interest rate, and no explanation was given for that; we were only told that we could get a different loan if we wanted to. I did get new windows and some attic insulation out of the project, which after all, I did pay for. But for the amount of effort and difficulty I went to in order to see the project to satisfaction was too much. All in all, if I had it to do over again, I would rather not work with Superior Home Improvement.

Middleman.. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with superior. Yeah you pay to get work done on your home but, why pay double or triple the price for a project only to fill their pockets all theyre going to do is hire the cheapest contractors and pocket the rest. Seriously get more bids but, with contractors not people who hire the contractors for you

Superior is an amazing company, they know how to take care of their customers, Rich is such a hard worker, and the staff is amazing. I'm very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them! The Energy Program is as basic as 2+2. It's super efficient and adds value to your home!!! I honestly think the other people who gave this company a bad rating did not have the patience required to see the beautiful sunrise after the dreadful hike. Superior, thanks for all you do.

My experience with everyone at Superior Home Improvement was top notch all the way around. From the estimator, the install crew- they all did an professional, fantastic job. After meeting with their sales representative and signing a sales agreement, we decided that we could not afford the services. Our state's law provides 3 days to rescind a sales agreement. Starting just hours after the first meeting and continuing for the duration of the 3 day grace period, we made a total of 5 calls to Superior Home Improvement and their sales representative regarding our obtaining a copy of the notice of cancellation form, which the sales contract states was attached to the sales agreement but was not. The sales representative, who would not supply the form as requested, only further pressed his sale-pitch and complained that he would have to change his schedule in order to bring the form to our house. He would not email the form, claiming that he had no internet access. Our calls to the Superior Home Improvement Salt Lake City office have not been returned or acted upon. This is incongruous with the statements of the sales representative regarding the exactness he was maintaining, as required by the federal government, while peddling his company’s goods and services.

The dodgy behavior of the representatives of Superior Home Improvement after our first contact on June 6 has served to increase our resolve to have no business dealings with them or their company. Additionally, we will discourage any friends and acquaintances from conducting business with Superior Home Improvement.

Calling continually attempting to sell prior to identifying if they have reached the correct person. Seems to me they have one of two things going on; one attempting to cover when they call to sell with this story, or two they are not keeping good records either way it is a no sell.

Superior Home Improvement Company made our home much more energy efficient - the installation of double-pained energy efficient windows, patio doors, new back entry door, attic insulation, complete supply of energy-efficient light bulbs, insulation on water heater, and weather-stripping around front door were all completed in a timely and professional manner with little disruption to our daily routine. Their personnel interactions with us were always very courteous, accommodating and respectful, listening closely and taking care of our concerns. Each evening after a day of construction everything was closed up so our house remained comfortable through the cold nights, and the daytime weather cooperated so it was comfortable through the daytime construction. A canvas drop material was always placed on the floor or area in front of the work place as to minimize the dirt and dust from the construction. We are very pleased with the quality of Superior Home Improvement products and fine workmanship.

For us superior home improvement should not be in business. they had workers using a cement saw that didn't know how and as a result we ended up with an inch to an inch and a half of mud inside our home. They put in cabinets that didn't fit very well. I had to trim some nails that were sticking out. The flooring they put is has several spots where the floor is sinking. When we sought for compensation for the mud damage and the property ruined they offered us a mere $150. Stay away from this company at all cost!!!
