Awesome experience from start to finish. Everyone at SunCommon was very helpful, knowledgeable, efficient and professional. If you're reading reviews you're trying to decide, go for it! You'll be glad you did.

I am on EFT. They stopped taking payments around Oct. of 2024. Just stopped. When you call you get a machine. Never a person. If you leave a message they never call you back. After several attempts I stopped calling. Then out of the blue they took a payment in April and May now I get an email saying we are past due and taking the full amount via EFT. I replied and asked for a call to discuss this. Again no call just an email oh we will try in two weeks. I still replied back to call me to discuss no payments should be taken until we talk. Well they took the full payment. Terrible service. No wonder they are being sued all the time.

SunCommon installed our solar about 9 years ago and just installed 2 Tesla Powerwalls at our house. SunCommon continues to be a great company to deal with and their field staff are the best. Couldn't be happier and would highly recommend them for your solar/renewable needs.

As a professional construction manager, I am as thorough as it gets when it comes to analyzing options and pricing among the marketplace. When it came time to put solar on my own home, I reviewed three companies and SunCommon was the clear winner. Their pricing was great, I loved that they pre-purchased material and stored it in their warehouse to stay ahead of tariffs, and the three team members that I interfaced with from inception to execution were all spectacular. I am a strong advocate for supporting deserving companies in the local community and it always feels good to know that we were both successful in this transaction.

Seven years ago we had SunCommon install 23 solar panels on the roof of our house and 2 PowerWalls in the basement. We have been so pleased with the installation that has seen us through many power outages, that we went back to SunCommon in 2024 to have 32 rooftop panels plus 2 PowerWalls installed at our barn. The SunCommon staff was very helpful and the installation crew was great. The installed the entire system in just two days during cold and snowy weather in December. They couldn't have been more pleasant and professional. We did run into a bureaucratic snafu with the Public Utilities Commission which delayed connection to the grid by two and a half months, but SunCommon very graciously fully reimbursed me for the lost power production during the delay.

I just got my solar roof on and I love it. It was a great experience working with Sun Common start to finish- everyone on the team, from the first people they sent to the house to set the plan up to the team who installed and those behind the scenes - everyone were absolutely lovely people, answered all my questions throughout this process and made the installation a delight. I recommend them highly.

We had rooftop solar installed by SunCommon 2 years ago on our Lake Champlain home in Saint Albans. From the initial consultation through the installation and current energy savings, we have been blown away by the quality of customer service. Nick explained everything in detail, set a timeframe, and met it. We often recommend residential solar through SunCommon---couldn't be more pleased!

Everyone, starting with Nick Governale, was a pleasure to work with, helpful and patient with all our questions. The array looks great as does the powerwall. We are happy and highly recommend them to anyone looking into solar!

I want to share my appreciation of SunCommon and recommend the company for solar installations. We recently engaged the company to install a solar canopy with battery backup at our house. We were given excellent advice and guidance during the design and planning phases, and each person that came on site was professional, patient and knowledgeable. Canopy installation went smoothly, despite the underlying bedrock, and we were greatly pleased with the look. The rest of the installation, from trenching to battery installation and pairing with my phone was conducted with neat, efficient, and diligent work by the SunCommon technical group. Every workman that came shared their enthusiasm for the product and their collective experience in making them work. I highly recommend SunCommon!

If I could have chosen a rating for SunCommon, I would have chosen -0, but the lowest rating I could check off is 1*
I am not impressed with SunCommon's customer service. Let me explain. Back on July 13th, 2024, I had a lightning strike hit my house and it knocked out my solar inverter and when the tech came over in August, he confirmed that the inverter needs to be replaced. After further testing he determined that the optimizers on the solar panels on my roof needed to be checked. He could not give me a date when someone from SunCommon could come and replace the inverter and check the optimizers. I might add that I have not had any solar production since July 13th and after using all the saved-up generation credit, my electric bill was $151.67 in the August bill. Then in the Sept bill it was $217.88. Then the October bill was $226.12. And my latest bill in November was $240.48.
I have called SunCommon mutiple times and have left messages for Marena Youngs, but still nothing has been done to restore my solar production so that I don't have high electric bills. That's why I purchased the solar array in Dec 2017 to save on electric bills. According to VTDigger, it stated that according to Jeff Wolfe, SunCommon had "it's best sales month ever" for residential solar in July - despite the turbulence at its parent company. So what happened to the present solar customers who were either struck by lightning or had some other issues where their solar production came to a screeching halt and after paying for a solar investment which was going to pay off in the long run, I'm looking up at my roof with solar panels that are just sitting there producing nothing and I am stuck with paying electric bills, all the while when I am waiting patiently for SunCommon techs to restore my solar production. So, the bottom line is I would not recommend SunCommon. It has been approximately 4 months since my solar has not been producing and that is totally unacceptable. So, what is SunCommon going to do to fix the problem. I also have a neighbor up the road in Walden whose house was also struck by lightning and lost solar production.
Now that SunCommon's parent company iSun filled bankruptcy and was acquired by a Texas private equity firm in August, what difference will that make for SunCommon's customer service.
I hope this issue is resolved quickly. And the reason I wrote this review is to make people aware of the customer service problems that SunCommon is having and that I hope the management of SunCommon sees this review and takes action promptly.

Working with Suncommon was easy, and we've been very satisfied with our panels for over 10 years, and our Tesla Powerwalls for the past 3 years. We've also been happy with their responsive customer support team.

Greetings - the merit in a company is in the service it provides after the install when and if things go wrong. We, like many families have totally embraced reduction of our carbon footprint, and reduced cost through solar and modern technologies. We worked with SunCommon, for our solar, heat pump, and electrical storage. It seemed a match made in heaven. Our Mitsubishi heat pump, purchased and installed through SunCommon, and helped us finance stopped working this month, still within the warranty and still being paid for.

Our call and request for help, through the company and through our purchasing agent, Kevin Lehman have resulted in the following: 1. Initially, we received a job and case number, with them stating they were short staffed, but would contact us the following week. 2. No follow-up, and only a voice mail option, 3. Our expressed concern, resulted in an email stating they no longer sell heat pumps and would not service ours, referring us to a private HVAC service, not accepting new customers. The main challenge here is warranty service is the responsibility of the installer. So, we are paying for a $20,000 system, under warranty, that has not worked now going on a month, and my emails to our Sales rep, Kebin Lehman, go unanswered.

I no longer have a love affair with SunCommon. This loss of commitment and integrity from any company should be a statement to their customers that they are fully engaged in sales and install, but that their commitment to service and maintenance does not seem to exist.

If this is an example of customer service, I highly recommend you choose another company that won’t drop you like a hot potato when you need them most. Note, I am a veteran and a retired engineer.

We used SunCommon several years ago, and decided to add more solar panels this year because we had a good experience with them. The crew that did this installation was fabulous. They were courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. They started the project in the rain and it didn't dampen their positive energy. The install went great, they took time to show us all the new equipment and answer all our questions, and they took care to clean up when they were done. We would recommend SunCommon without question!

I'm sure SunCommon is great to work with before your check clears but you should expect less than stellar customer service afterward. I had storm related damage to my roof mounted system over the winter(a module was hanging on my 2nd story roof by the pv wires). Because of a conflict they had with the crooks I'm leasing the system from, it took weeks and many phone calls to get them to commit to fixing the issue. It basically came down to wanting to ensure SunCommon was going to be paid for the repair job- a job that ended up costing under $300. Meanwhile, with each passing day the risk of property damage to my house, which could far exceed $300, increased.

Oh, and remember they are owned by iSun who have a whole host of their own issues.

Proceed with caution.

They did a super job getting the project done early for the spring sun. They did the whole job with no issues and since I do not live there they took care of everything. Good communication during the whole project. This is a great company to deal with.

Learn to fix your own system!!! Suncommon is excellent at selling and arranging install but they are a pass-through company that depends on manufacturers to repair. My system (only eight-years old) has been down for seven months and Suncommon has just walked away blaming the equipment company. The seller and manufacturer have no incentive to fix it as they’ve already been paid. My only option is to stop payment on my loan at risk to my credit or legal action from the bank. Do not make the mistake of using a home equity loan or line-of-credit as your property will be at risk. The red red flags are everywhere, no answers to emails or phone calls. Beware!!

I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with SunCommon Service and people. From my salesperson Heather, to the Project Manager Melissa and the install team of Dylan, Josh and David, my most hearty thanks! The TESLA Powerwall installation was a breeze for me, taking only part of one day. This is the second time (and a second home) that SunCommon has served me with their products and service. They are the first and only ones I would call!

Decided to move forward with a solar and battery project given so many outages where we live. SunCommon was recommended by people we trust, and I’m glad to say that the project went well from start to finish. Overall great communication and responsiveness from sales (Pete), project managers (Lucy and Sean), and work crews (Treat and Sam leads). They facilitated good coordination with VSECU for financing, and WEC as well. The project moved forward more quickly than initially expected, and is now up and running as hoped. Happy to recommend their services.

From initial contact to actual solar installation was just over a month. It would have been faster but apparently there was a defect in the inverter (not their fault).

EVERY step of the way was easy to understand, easy to communicate, and they undercut their main competition by (not exaggerating) $8,000 for a better system.

I am just so thrilled with the care and professionalism from minute one with this company. Wow!

From Zack who guided us through the process to Michael who did our site assessment to Sean, the installation lead, and Sam's installation crew, with Daniel and Caleb, we could not be more pleased. Professional, on time, orderly, and efficient at every step. Great company, great benefit corporation, and great experience—I can’t believe we waited this long to take the leap. Thank you!

Just got a SunCommon ground-mount solar system installed and my wife and I are quite happy with the process from soup to nuts. Great support from Chris in sales as we figured out how to size and locate the system and from project manager Sean in guiding us through the permitting and installation process. Forest and his excellent construction crew were highly competent and professional -- they not only put up the solar array just as we imagined but also left everything ship-shape when they left. I also appreciated receiving helpful advice from the electrician Curtis. A great group of folks and a quality product!

Just got my second installation from Suncommon at my home in Vermont! The crew arrived on time and worked with great coordination and effort to complete the complex installation, which included solar panels on the roof, a Tesla battery system, and a tie-in to an existing system. Shout out to Sean Morrissey, Treat's crew and Josh Carter's crew for an amazing job!

Suncommon was a great resource every step of the way when we wanted to convert to using solar electricity to green up our home electrical consumption. They helped figure out how many panels we would need for our level of use, provided straightforward guidance and cost estimates, walked us through the process of getting rebates to offset the startup costs, and did an extensive site visit before scheduling the install, to be sure we would get the maximum benefit from our array. On the day of the install, the crew was bright, courteous and uncomplaining, despite arriving on a rainy day to work on our slippery metal roof. They were careful, mindful of their own safety, and worked quietly and quickly. The whole project was complete, neatly installed and ready to go in less than 8 hours. Suncommon arranged with the local power company to do all the necessary hookup to the electrical grid. We got a complete walk-through of how the system operates, what part we play in maintenance, and Suncommon even came back right away to address an underperforming panel. Their continued good workmanship and diligence during this warranty claim call added to our very positive impression of the company's integrity. These days, when sketchy outfits are trying to sell you solar at every big-box store, we would unreservedly recommend Suncommon for their courtesy, professionalism, follow-through and help in educating us throughout the project.

Our system failed after only one year and after over a month we have yet to get anyone to come and look at our system or setup a time to look at it. We are now paying for our solar array and it is not producing energy durring the peak period. Great sales pitch, terrible service and support. Go with a true local company or take a chance you won’t get support or a system that works.

Extraordinary experience and service. Sun Common had to go ‘above and beyond’ to get our new solar system installed. Because we had some solar panels and a wind turbine dating back to 2006, they had to submit multiple filings with the state to get the Certificate of Public Good required; I wouldn’t have had the patience. They got the job done and were so very pleasant to work with. We give them our highest recommendation.

Very happy to have had SunCommon install solar panels this spring on both sides of the roof of our large residential garage. Their entire team made the entire process easy and stress-free, starting with adviser Zach Mostov providing estimates, walking us through the financing process, and promptly and patiently answering our many, many questions. Project management team lead Doug Surwilo thoroughly apprised of exactly what to expect and when, and expertly oversaw all of the zoning/permitting issues on our behalf. Though solar wasn't really something on our radar a couple of years ago, I quickly came around to the idea when I found out about both Vermont's net-metering policy and federal tax credits that made it an affordable option--I'd recommend SunCommon's local team of experts to anyone looking to make solar a reality for their household as well.

We love SunCommon! They helped us through every step of the process: placement of ground-mounted panels, federal/state solar credits, installation, financing, and a celebration for friends and neighbors. We have needed just one repair, and it was completed within a day. We definitely are solar, and SunCommon, advocates. We are happy to talk to anyone considering solar. SunCommon was amazing at assessing our solar needs and picking out the best set up for our home. Tim took the time with us to understand what we wanted and how we wanted the array to look. He showed us all of our financing options and worked on our timeline. He also reviewed our electric bill post install to help us better understand it. We highly recommend.

SunCommon was a great company to work through all the way from the sales team through to installation and financing guidance. We are pleased with our recent addition of Power Walls and a SPAN panel to our solar tracker. The new elements of our system were supplied and installed by SunCommon (with no inconvenience to us). The new system easily got us through a recent power outage, and it also serves to store excess energy when the sun shines, to be used later when it gets dark. With the Tesla app and the SPAN app, it is easy to micro manage the power usage when the grid is down. (Note that previously, without the power walls, we lost any power that might have been generated when the grid was down.)

SunCommon did a fantastic job installing rooftop panels and an EV charger at our home in Danville VT. Tim Patterson, our solar home advisor, did a great job educating us and putting together a compelling proposal after evaluating various options. Every part of the process was professional and well communicated. Every member of their team was thorough and passionate.

SunCommon is a great company with dedicated, knowledgeable people with integrity. Nick Governale was our solar home advisor and he really took the time to explain everything clearly and patiently. Really great company they know their solar! Obviously they are amazing electricians Dylan was amazing he walked me through what he was changing and really made me aware of exactly how the new components worked. It's a complex system but they do a great job with simplifying it for the owner. Everything is online and it works perfectly. They took care of everything was a seamless process.

I bought a place with near perfect solar alignment and capability 17 years ago..
I manufactured reasons to defer,installation..Payback period ,my age ,cost.
Had I acted then ,my payback would be complete today. As I aged I realized part of my own legacy was going to be the hastening the demise of the things I love .Snow ,the forest ,streams and ocean are on a course that may eventually support little life.
Solar ,while not a cure is the most positive step I can take as I near the end of my life to give your kids and grandkids an opportunity to enjoy an environment that enriches their lives
Had I the knowledge I have today ,I would have explored options to fold the installation into my mortgage…….it would have been wise and cost efficient and complete.
Those of us who can, quite simply should. Kind of a paying foward
for the delights we’ve experienced

Earlier this year we began our search for a solar company which included numerous interviews with solar companies and recommendations from neighbors who already had solar installed. During this phase of our project, it became clear that SunCommon stood out from the rest. In particular, we found Tim to be organized, professional and supportive which made the entire process a great success. Even when issues came up during the install phase, as they inevitably do with any large-scale project involving coordination between multiple teams, Tim made himself available to address the issues within the same day and went above and beyond to address the situation. We love our solar array/carport! We believe the pictures speak for themselves. Thank you SunCommon (especially Tim!) for all your hard work! Highly recommended!!!

Sun Common has been exceptional from the very first conversation! The entire team, specifically Tim and Ryan, have been so thorough in all of the information provided and walked us through every tiny step of the process. SunCommon is perhaps the best company I have ever dealt with. It started with a proposal/estimate that was the best of 3 that we received. Their online presence makes you feel that you are dealing with a company that cares a lot about its customers, its community, and the environment. They have a great product, great staff, great installation, and great follow-up. With the installation they were very respectful of our property, tried to accommodate our preferences, and gave us a lot of information about the equipment and best practices so that we felt that we made good choices. They have continued with good post-sale communication. The Tesla and Enphase apps are very good - they are our new toy. We can recommend SunCommon without reservation. Going solar feels like a good choice for us financially in the long run and in terms of energy independence and energy security in the present. We built our home to be "net-zero", and now with our solar system we can finally meet that goal. We feel good about "going solar", and feel very happy that we chose SunCommon as our partners in this endeavor.

In 2014, when we first built our home, we worked with SunCommon to have 13 panels installed and had an amazing experience with them. In 2021, we worked with them again to have 17 more panels installed because we anticipated getting an EV in the near future. We haven't paid for electricity since 2013 and it feels great! If you're in the market for solar, I highly encourage you to work with SunCommon. You won't regret it!

SunCommon installed solar panels on our home in 2013. They were helpful and efficient throughout the application process and and installation, and responded quickly to the one service call that I made. The panels have worked well for over 9 years now, and lower our electric bill by an average of about $75 per month. In addition, the credit that accumulates from May to September helps cover electric costs in the fall.

My 46 panel system has failed three times in three years. I am now out for eight weeks this summer. One circuit breaker melted. It was the burning smell that alerted me to the concern, not the Sun Common monitoring system.

A faulty replacement caused another failure. I was unaware of the outage because Sun Common stopped monitoring my system without telling me.

After breaker was replaced, my inverter Solar Edge failed. There are internet sources suggesting this was well known.

I went to the Waterbury office and was told the company was fully aware of its Solar Edge failures. The failures are so high that SunCommon no longer provides that brand. They are now telling me that Solar Edge will not replace the inverter for three to six months.

Emails to support take time to get responses and the responses are incomplete and promise responses that go unfulfilled. For example, I was not told of the three to six month delay. I was also told twice a service person would call. No one has called.

Upon reflection, the warranty is provided by the manufacturer of the devices. Sun Common has a very limited warranty. That is, they do not stand behind the devices they install. You rely on Sun Common at your own risk.

Perhaps this review will spur someone at Sun Common to respond.

Had installation done and that team was great then had issues and it took them weeks to get back to me and fix problems.I also called for another issue and they said they would get back to me in a week and over 2 months later still waiting called and left messages at multiple numbers and still no call back or email not impressed with the company.

Suncommon was phenomenal to work with from start to finish! We worked with Tim Patterson, who is extremely passionate about renewable energy and who very knowledgeably laid out our options. Even despite changes to our plan throughout the process, Tim was very flexible. When it came to installation, the excavation for burying lines was done with extreme care and was neatly cleaned up. The grass has already grown back and you can't even tell the work was done. Thank you again Suncommon for bringing us into the age of clean energy!

100% Satisfied. Looked at several companies and based on our needs, SunCommon fit the best. The entire team from Sales to Installation were professional and more importantly, Courteous. Another pleasant surprise was that our initial sales representative, Zack Mostov, was part of the entire project to include answering any post installation questions. I threw alot of questions at him and he answered every one of them competently and made sure I understood the answers.

We recently had Suncommon install a full standing array of solar ground panels and two wall batteries at our house. The whole process went extremely well -- everything was explained in great detail, the service and installation were exceedingly professional, and everyone was super-nice. We had a wonderful experience and we give Suncommon our highest recommendation.

In particular, we want to give a shout out to our point person in sales, J.T. Lukens -- who was always available, knowledgeable, informative, pleasant, and at pains to make sure we thoroughly understood the system we were buying. And also to Molly Hacopian, our installation manager, who like J.T., was extremely helpful, accommodating, and a delight to work with.

This is a great company with a huge amount of experience, which has our gratitude for its excellent work.

We are pleased with our solar canopy and working with SunCommon throughout this one-year process. The moment we made an inquiry, we spoke with a SunCommon rep to go over our options, both in terms of system size and lining up a loan. Tim Patterson was our solar advisor and he guided us through our project scope, which switched from a rooftop installation to solar canopy when Burlington's 3-ft from roof edge regulation reduced the size and potential output for us.

In addition to a solar canopy, we upgraded our electrical to make EV charging possible in our garage. Throughout the planning process, SunCommon's engineering designed our system and lined up permits with the City. The project occurred over the summer, after some supply delays, over 3 weeks and on 4 full days of work crews: digging trenches, setting up anchors, timberframe raising, solar panel and electrical panel installation, and inspections. One month after installation and collecting data, we got to sit down with Tim to learn how we can manage and monitor our system for the future.

Overall, our family had a great experience with SunCommon and we are content with our solar canopy as a space for us to enjoy outdoors while generating power.

I was very impressed by the knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness of the Suncommon crews. From the initial consult to the final walk-through, everything went much smoother than expected for such a big project. Even the trench dug for the wires came and went within one day and -- apart from the straw added to help the landscape heal -- was barely noticeable once they put it back together. We're very happy with our system and highly recommend Suncommon!

We are super excited that we are now "powered by solar"! Overall, our journey with SunCommon was really very good. We had some issues in the early stages with sporadic communication about project status and with scheduling (hence the 4 star rating), but Project Management Lead Maddy really stepped up to address all of our concerns. Through her efforts, the design was fast tracked, and the work scheduled. Thanks to Jason for providing a detailed introduction to the process, and a big shout out to the installation crew led by Ryan, and his core team of Duncan, Josh, Jarrett, and Kai. Their work was both professional and efficient, and they were great folks to work with. Kudos and thank you all for a job well done!

2 1/2 years ago my wife and I made that huge decision, and invested over $67,000.00 on a solar array with SunCommon. After installation we were very pleased with the process so I wrote a glowing 5 star review that was featured on their website for quite awhile.

That's the end of the good stuff, now here's what ultimately happened:

SunCommon and their subs actually did a great job on the install, and I stand next to everything good I said about them. However...
What they didn't tell me is that when you begin producing solar energy, unless you are 100% off grid with batteries and a generator, you are entering a binding contract with your local utility company. This contract was negotiated between SunCommon and (in my case), Hardwick Electric Dept. As the customer I had no knowledge of this contract and it was certainly never brought to my attention by SunCommon. Here was my (HUGE) mistake: I didn't properly read or understand the giant stack of legal documents that I signed, so legally I did agree to allow this contract negotiation on my behalf. Thus, being ignorant to that fact I never even reached out to my utility company to understand the terms of our "Energy exchange" before signing the papers.
It gets quite involved. I've spent the last 2 years trying to figure out how to get myself out of this mess with SunCommon, Hardwick Electric, Lawyers, and The VT Attorney General.
My Results:
-When you introduce a solar account in VT you automatically begin paying Efficiency Vermont fees and likely metering fees by your utility company. Just the costs of doing business, but it is not an insignificant number!
-Unless you have a battery system, you are feeding 100% of the energy your solar panels generate into the local power grid, NOT into your home. Do not let anyone try to convince you otherwise.
-I pay my utility company $0.188/KWH for power delivered to my house, They pay me $0.150/KWH for power my panels feed into their grid.
-I am only credited with 59% of the energy my panels feed into the grid, the rest of it just disappears into somebody's pocket.

With these factors combined and a $67,000 loan to pay off, I now pay a LOT more for electricity than before I installed panels.

I want to believe that the folks at SunCommon were truly ignorant to the horrible terms that they agreed to on my behalf as they claim, and that it wasn't a underhanded omission to facilitate a sale. After two years of asking, arguing, and pleading for help with different levels of management at SunCommon, I finally got an Email form James Moore, president of SunCommon. The gist of it is this: Your Problem is with your utility company, not SunCommon. Sorry, but we've washed our hands of you.
At this point for me, the only way out of this is to spend MORE money on batteries in an effort to free myself from the utility company.
I certainly will not conduct this business with SunCommon,
BUYER BEWARE!!

From beginning to end the solar experience with SunCommon was great! Molly was a fabulous project manager. She quickly responded, answered my questions, and even helped navigate construction/project schedules and visits around my busy work schedule. Everyone on the team, from the initial consultation to construction and set-up was friendly/fabulous. I'd highly recommend using them!

We had a great experience with everyone at SunCommon. From our Home Advisor (Pete), Project Manager (Ren), and our installation crew (Curtis, Ryan, Josh, Kai, & Jarret).

Communication was quick, responsive, & thorough. All our questions were promptly answered and installation took only 2 days to complete. The installation crew was professional and respectful of our covid precautions.

We've only had our solar panels since the end of May but have had zero issues so far. The mobile app is great for anyone who likes to dig into the data of how much energy is being used and produced.

We're glad to have gone with a local company and would highly recommend SunCommon to others.

Our entire experience with SunCommon was outstanding! Every person we dealt with was extremely professional. They took care of every detail, from designing our system so that it will serve our needs now and into the future, to arranging financing, to reseeding our lawn after the project was complete. I have never met such a compassionate and caring group either. Our dog passed away due to cancer during the time that the team was at our house. They went out of their way to help us bury her and then the company made a donation to a local Humane Society in her name. They were respectful of our time and our property. I can’t say enough about them!

Can't say how their service is since I can't get a person to respond to my questions about setting up service. I had an appointment. I was told they tried calling but my phone kept ringing. That would never happen I have voicemail. Anyway why would I trust a company whom I cant even get customer service before I spend money with them? The answer. I won't give them my hard earned $. Goodluck getting a person.

I joined SunCommon's community array program six years ago and have enjoyed a super low monthly rate with no extra payment on my regular electric bills. And, with SunCommon's referral program I will soon be receiving a $500 check from them for referring my neighbor. I heartily recommend SC -- best practices all the way!

I think we lost solar generation due to a recent storm. Heather responded to my voicemail within a couple of hours, helped me troubleshoot first and had someone out to my house within a couple of hours. Within 10 minutes Gus had us back up and running. I was also really happy to see that they were safety conscious and had two people working together while they were on a ladder fixing another minor issue in the eaves.
Great service; reasonable; thoughtful and helpful. Thanks Sun Common Team :)

We recently had an 18 panel rooftop photovoltaic system installed on our garage roof. SunCommon sales person Zack came to our property shortly after I first contacted the company. Zack came prepared with a 3D rendering of our building which he had downloaded from a US government satellite Armed with that scaled view Zack showed us alternative panel layouts, estimates of the various systems' energy production and the project cost. Now the system is installed and operating, but it is too early for me to say if the early production estimates were accurate. I can tell you that the crew that recently installed the system, were considerate of our local requirements and took care not to damage our landscaping or the warren of existing utility lines in the area where the new electric cable was buried. I have previously had a different solar company install a system and given the comparison of the quality of the work I can highly recommend SunCommon.without any hesitation. It is a rare company that can handle a project from initial sale through design and then construction as well as this was handled.

What a pleasure working with SunCommon, especially Zack, Pat, and the young lady who help me at the end. I was a real pain but everyone handled my anxiety with professionalism and kindness. My solar system is working flawlessly and would recommend SunCommon to anyone considering going solar

We had a great experience installing solar with SunCommon. We worked with Zack, who was professional but fun and friendly, gracious, flexible, and most importantly very knowledgable. He answered all of our questions and was a great resource during the whole process! They fit us into a busy season at the last minute and there was hardly any wait time to get installed. We are very happy with our solar and highly recommend the whole SunCommon team.

We liked them so much we asked them to add more panels.
Zack Mostov and Molly did a great job coordinating our wishes into a design that fit our house and our electrical needs
Besides that, it's a feel good thing, isn't it..

Everyone at SunCommon did a fantastic job getting our solar array installed. A big thank you to Pete Edling and the rest of the crew at SunCommon!

In spite of a pandemic and weather delays, you guys got the install completed within a few days of the original target date. Amazing!

It has now been 6 months of hard work for our new employees, as we affectionately call our solar panels. Zero issues encountered. Other than you guys calling us to see how things were going, we have not heard a thing from us. We have not had to reach out to you for return visits or support of any kind. I wish all my home improvement and maintenance projects were like this!

From an investment perspective, going solar was definitely a great decision for us. Even on this less than optimal Southern Vermont February day, the employees generated almost 40 kW of electricity. We are looking forward to our first spring and summer with the new employees paying off our initial investment.

Thanks again SunCommon for making it so easy and successful!

We had a great experience with Suncommmon - great pricing, super helpful onboarding from Nick Governale, and we had a pretty complicated setup with two inverters and two different buildings but they put it all together super fast with no issues. Thanks Suncommon team!

We had Suncommon install our huge rooftop system roughly a year ago. While installation went well, and the crew were courteous and professional... our system has had multiple problems.

After less than 6 months, one of our two inverters went bad, knocking out 2/3rds of our entire system. It went unnoticed for a couple months. I monitor the system myself since Suncommon does not, and I had assumed the loss in production was due to snow cover. Suncommon replaced the inverter once the problem was finally discovered. ( I also get the sense we got some outdated equipment installed, because every time I talk to one of their techs they say "Ohhhh, you have the inverters WITHOUT a screen... ohhhh..." That's not a great feeling when your system is brand new and cost $30k.

Also, the monitoring app which is my only way to monitor my system does not work properly. I'm often getting my readings delayed by days or weeks in the past. They know this and haven't addressed fixing it.

Fast forward to now, August 12th, the prime time to be generating solar and putting it in the bank for winter use.... and our whole system has been down for weeks. We got a notice from the power company... because THEY noticed our output stopped abruptly one day. After trouble shooting with a Suncommon tech over the phone, we conclude that it's a fuse. A fuse I can't replace. A fuse which Suncommon can't give any estimate on when a tech will have 10 minutes to stop by and replace. A fuse which is costing us dearly daily in lost generation. All the while... we're paying for a system which has been down for weeks and is less than a year old. Oh, and they'll be charging me for it when they get around to it.

So folks, if you're thinking solar might be the care-free route to energy independence you were hoping for, you may want to think again. It's not all rainbows and unicorns. You will need to monitor things, unless you go with another company which includes the monitoring service. We met with one while getting estimates, and have a bit of buyer's remorse going with the less expensive alternative.

UPDATE 12-12-2021
It would appear one of our two inverters is down again, and has been for some time. Again, since my monitoring app does not work properly, the problem has gone unnoticed for weeks, possibly a month. Our solar "bank" of credit with the power company was used up by November. We are supposed to bank enough solar to get us through the entire winter. That's what the system was sized for, and what we were told to expect. Nope. Due to the numerous equipment malfunctions, it got us through half of November.

Update 1-5-2022
Just under a month later our inverter has been replaced. We'll see how they hold.

3-13-2025.. another inverter down... waiting two weeks for a new inverter and to begin scheduling a service call... only producing 1/3 output in the meantime. On a whole this investment has been a huge loss. I'd love to claim otherwise, as I'm quite a fan of solar. Our credited solar from the summer months are gone by December.. despite being told initially we'd get through the entire winter with our credits with GMP. Wish that were true...
