Michael Stringfellow service was OUTSTANDING!!! It took longer to schedule because of all the rain we've been having but then they scheduled for a Saturday since they were backlogged and didn't want to make me wait any longer. Unfortunately, before they finished, it started raining yet again!!! But they took breaks during the heavy downpours. They did everything I requested and the work was performed quickly, four people were here. For the heavier branches, they used a rope to lower the branch softly. Nothing on the ground was damaged (not even the flowers). They blew the fallen leaves into a pile and took them away. Very very pleased with the service, highly recommended! Rick

Great to support a local business. They came out same day I called to assess my situation (had a fallen tree) and give me an estimate. No other company I called was able to do that.

Springfellow Tree Service did a great job with cutting down a big tree in front of our house. It was fast and they did a super job with cleaning the mess and even put mulches to cover where the tree was, so it looks nice. Very satisfied and would definitely use their service again in the future.

Absolutely.The best tree people we've ever used. I have called them back 3 times now. They do the best work they go above and beyond. They cleared out all the underbrush and small trees. They've dropped huge trees that were in the corner of my fence area. And then they cut all the dead off of my big tree in the front yard hanging over the house. They deserve five stars and more.

I had a very large pine tree that was uprooted and windstorm.- And was only being kept from falling on my neighbor’s house by a branch of a maple tree- it was hanging on by one root system.
Michael and his crew came out the same day that I discovered it and it was taken care of by the early evening. They were very safe and very professional. The next day he returned and ground the stump for me and it looks beautiful. You would not know that a tree had been there.

Amazing work! The crew from Stringfellow’s did beautiful work! How they managed to save the smaller trees and bushes below the very large tree they were taking down is truly impressive. The crew was courteous, efficient and cleaned everything up when they were finished. I will be using them again and wholeheartedly recommend them!

I had them drop a tree in a pasture that needed to be directed to a specific spot. They topped the tree and bundled all the branches in to a VERY neat pile that I will burn later. They dropped the trunk where they said they would. They may a few cuts in the trunk so it would lay flat. They made sure all cut edges were clean and safe for the horses. The crew was responsive to my requests. I would use them again

The fellas showed up and took out the five Nandinas (aka Heavenly Bamboo, an invasive species), trimmed my ragged Bradford Pear and took out a bunch of overgrown lilies to give me a clean slate for my yard. They worked hard, cleaned up, and the only way you’d know they were here is how fantastic my garden beds and tree now look. Well done. Second time I’ve used them.

I had a huge 4.5 foot diameter trunk silver maple tree that had several dead limbs. It had started dropping limbs in storms and was rapidly becoming a safety hazard. This tree was only 8 feet from my wood privacy fence, and a cherished fruit producing fig tree within 10 feet in another direction. Because the entire yard was fenced the only way in or out of the yard was the 3 foot wide gate entrance to the back yard. I was dreading the cost to have this massive tree taken down, as well as the potential for secondary damage to either the fence or fig tree.
Mike came out and gave me what I found to be a very reasonable quote for the scope of work that needed to be done. He also produced his license and insurance documentation without hesitancy when asked, as I was concerned with a fall risk due to the dead limbs. We then agreed on a time estimate for work completion.
On the day of the takedown I was simply amazed. I couldn’t tear myself away from watching his crew work. The man who went aloft in the tree was a marvel. Even with the arsenal of safety equipment he wore, I simply couldn’t fathom how he could move so expertly and seemingly without fear navigate the tree up to 40-50 feet in the air. I marveled at how he used cut angles and tackle to manipulate the cut limbs such that the falling limbs did not damage the items I valued that were under the tree. I was watching a master practice his craft. The rest of his crew safely worked underneath efficiently clearing the cut limbs and hauling them out to the truck and chipper.
After a couple of hours the tree was down, all debris had been cleared, the overwhelming majority of the wood chips from the cuts were raked and removed, and cleanup was complete. The entire process was perfect. The crew were polite, cordial, and treated my property with the utmost respect. I can say my experience with Mike and his crew were amazing, and if I were not moving from the area he would get my call for any follow on tree work that I would need to have done for my property. If you have tree work, do yourself a favor and give Mike a call.

Mike and his team showed up right on time and did a stelar job removing all of the extremely large invasive Trees of Heaven which numbered near 20 that were precariously close to the house using his professional equipment and industrial size chipper Mike and his skilled team of took great safety measures to climb and carefully removed all large branches by tying them off and lowering them slowly rather than simply letting the branches drop to the ground being so close to the house. He did all the work in 1 day and all at a very reasonable price!

Great job of removing trees, major trunks and trimming/thinning trees around my home. Good tree experience & advice, such as what to do about "problem" trees. Also great job cleaning up. Highly recommend doing tree work in early spring, since contractors are more flexible on price during their slow season

Michael, Dean and his crew did a great, quick job at a fair price. They trimmed four of our trees, cleaned up really thoroughly, and even gave us some mulch from it. Really appreciate the job they did! We are in DC proper and they do quite a bit of work in the city.

Michael and his crew removed a large tree and a few shrubs on my front yard. The scheduling was easy, the price was reasonable, and the work was done on time. I appreciated that the crew was very careful, completed the work in just a couple of hours, removed all the debris and left a clean yard!

I had a tree fall down in my front yard this weekend . I had the tree cut up and the dead tree hauled away. Michael Stringfellow tree & yard service responded right back to my inquiry on Angie’s list to have the stump cut and grinded. They came out today for an estimate, and two hours later they came and did the stump grinding. The gentleman that came was professional, Polite and did exactly the work that was explained to me. I would highly recommend this company.

Amazing experience … tree fell down in my front yard during the storm last night and the next morning (today ), I gave stringfellow’s tree service a call at 9 o’clock, by 11 o’clock Michael was At my house with a fair estimate and by 2 o’clock in the afternoon, his crew was at my property hard at work and by 6 PM his crew was all done. In 24 hours, I went from having a front yard in shambles to having a front yard, you can be proud of. I highly recommend Michael and the rest of his staff at Stringfellow’s Tree Service. I contracted with Michael to cut down one med/large and one medium-sized tree and substantially prune three other large trees. Dean and his crew were professional and did an excellent job. Michael’s and Dean’s communications before, during, and after the work were thorough and respectful. Dean even made a couple of good suggestions during the process. All the requested work was done perfectly. They also took the time to ensure no damage was done to adjacent structures, trees and bushes with great care. After the work was completed they meticulously cleaned up all the affected areas and some adjacent areas (leaving it cleaner than before the work was done). Their pricing was fair/competitive. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with them in the future.

Michael and his guys did a great job. Straightforward, knowledgeable, no BS estimate. Excellent text and phone communication. The crew showed up on time. Mike was great! He followed up with me every time he said he would, made sure he knew what I wanted and ensured his crew knew the same. They came out on time, verified one more time what they were supposed to do and then got to work. They worked the entire day until it was too dark to keep going. When I took a look this morning, it’s better than I thought it would be, meaning they did more than what was asked and used their best judgement to get the results I wanted. I will hire them again to keep going on my larger size property!

The Stringfellow crew completed two difficult jobs for us today, 6/23/25. One was removal of a large tree behind our house that had fallen on our garage and deck, as well as some falling on our neighbor's property. The second job was removal of dead limbs and branches from a large maple in the front yard, which they had also worked on several years ago. They were very accommodating for my wife's particular requests. They were also very meticulous with removal of everything and the cleanup of the yard front and back.

Amazingly dedicated, non-stop workers did a thorough & beautiful job trimming and topping our trees, making them safe for us and our house!
