Called them out to get an estimate for a section of pool screen that needed to be replaced. I took pictures like they asked me to of the screen, an because the job wasn't big enough for them to make alot money, I never heard back from them even after I called days later to see what was going on an was told they will get back with me, an still haven't heard from them. But what they didn't realize is that I was planning on replacing the whole pool screen after summer. Can't forget the little jobs an expect to stay in business long.

Overall I had a great experience. I wanted to extend my Lanai pavers, enclose it with a screen and fence in my backyard. Everything was completed professionally and in a timely manner. All my questions were answered fairly quickly either by email or with a phone call. Competitive pricing drew me to this company.

Awesome experience with St Aug Fence and Outdor Construction! I received 5 quotes total and this company came in 30% less and quality was certainly not sacrificed. Gary and team did an amazing job on the install - highly recommend!!

I had the company do three projects for me. I had a 10' x 32' screen added to my patio, a fence installed, and a 10' x 16' paver extension added to my patio. The first project was the screen. The gentleman that came out was very friendly and knowledgeable. He obviously took pride in his work. I say this because he was clearly disappointed with the poor quality of material he was provided. The 10' x 32' screen took about 5 weeks to complete due to needing to get different material due to damage on material he was provided. The second item was the fence. They came out and installed the fence in a single day. The gate had about 1 foot of clearance under it eliminating the purpose of a gate in my opinion. The posts that were installed on the left side of my home destroyed my french drain. The gate was replaced in about 3 weeks but they refused to fix the drain. In the contract it does in deed state that they're not responsible for irrigation. However, if you hit it once you'd assume they would check before hitting it 3 additional times. To make this worse they did not even tell me they hit it even though they tossed the broken pieces behind my yard. Just because you're not responsible for damage doesn't mean you should do your due diligence to avoid it and if it happens to let the homeowner know. Finally the patio extension was completed. They were able to match my builder pavers with color and pattern nicely. The only issue was that it was slightly higher than the patio so the newly installed door would catch on the pavers. This was resolved within a week of my letting them know.

Overall I do give them 3 stars.
Communication with office I give 3 stars.
Speed of completion I give 1 star.
The one worker that I spoke to I give 5 stars.

This my third time using this company to complete projects, (Fence, Screened in Lani, Patio Pavers)! Each time estimates received within 1 business day, competitive pricing, quality work, and attentive friendly people. They know their local neighborhoods and go the extra steps to assist with HOA paperwork to make project approval easy! I highly recommend!

Absolute Pros inside and out. I called around and received quotes from 4 different companies and St Aug Fence was by far the most affordable. They arrived on time and finished sooner than expected. They worked with me on a last min change and the fence looks amazing.

Stopped by for an estimate with house plans, but they never got back to me. Will not beg or chase anyone to take my money.
I did say I was not in a hurry, but I am getting estimates now. You said it would prob. be in the next week. I was waiting . Not even a touch back saying it was being worked on. Communication goes a long way with me.

Had a situation where a fence post was broken they had it in stock that day.
Very good customer service, very reasonable prices. The ladys in the office where extremely helpful. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I am trying to get an idea of when I can expect my fence and gate to be installed. At the time I gave my deposit (5/6/22) I was told that I would be contacted in 24-48 hours for scheduling. When that didn’t happen I called and learned that items were back ordered, which I totally understand. That was mid May so I called again last week. The person who answered began to tell me about the back order but asked another person in the office and was told the fence is in stock. However she didn’t schedule anything, just said she would talk to the owner. I noticed on ‘google’ that this tactic is used quite a bit when stalling customers. As your company has 1750.00 of my money I think I deserve a straight answer so I would appreciate a prompt response.

I Submitted a BBB complaint for my Refund . I'll let everyone know the results.

Clearly you missed every point in the email and in the complaint.

A) We knew up front items are back logged.
B) We waited 45 days to call again.
C) We called, we emailed with no responses
D) We asked to speak with you.
E) I don't mind waiting , I mind be lied to.
F) If you take a deposit , be decent and let people know what is going on .

Lastly you see in the email your employee said she will check with you.
You either lie or you have liar on your staff both of which are not good for Business.

This is a bit of a mixed review but ultimately, I think 2 stars is fair. I will say that first, their pricing is very good but now I am wondering if you have to sacrifice a quality job for the low price. In retrospect, I’d have spent more to get a better paver job. I will also give a higher rating to their fence installers as the crew was first class as was their finished product. The quality of the paver install as well as lack of organization and communication from the “Office Manager” as well as the supposed Owners leaves much to be desired. If it weren’t for my wife’s & my own mails and calls weekly, I am not sure we’d even be installed yet. It took over 3 weeks to get the owner to come inspect the job I paid them for that they subbed out. Even then, all I got was excuses about every issue I had. No one accepts responsibility here which is very disappointing. So really, if you want low pricing with a lack of customer service, these folks may be your answer. If you want a quality job with respectful front office support, get a few more quotes.

We had both our back patio pavers done and the front sidewalks and we couldn’t be happier. The crews who installed were very professional and super fast. We were amazed how quickly they were able to get it done while doing a great professional job. We still have the driveway to do and will definitely go to them when the time comes!

Great experience. Fence looks amazing. It’s about 99% perfect. Had a very minor issue after install and they came and fixed within a day or two. Communication and customer service really stands out. Would recommend to anyone looking for quality work for fair prices.

Very happy with the patio enclosure and screen they installed for us, and if Gary is the one to show up you are in great hands, he walked us through every step, made a personal connection and helped explain the options we had. We are now enjoying every night eating on our patio.

I wanted to get an aluminum fence, trex deck extension off-patio and assemble a gazebo kit in my backyard. Met the owner James and assistant Jeannine, both seemed like quality people and they offered reasonable rates, so I hired them accordingly.
The couple that installed the fence did so without any issues, in both timely fashion and a quality job, well done (5 stars)!
The company then sub-contracted out the trex deck extension and gazebo projects to a couple guys who had other full-time jobs, so this job was spread out over several weekends (not the end of the world). Although unprepared at times, the lead sub-contractor was experienced and did quality work on both projects. Overall, I "would" have rated those two projects at 4 stars, but I couldn't do that in good conscience. Part of the trex deck extension job, included tapping off an existing sprinkler head, and relocating the lines into two separate sprinkler heads. Sounds fairly straight forward. right? Here's where things went south.
I didn't notice this until the job was completed (and unfortunately, I had already paid the company), but the sub-contractors didn't bury the sprinkler lines under the trex deck extension, like they should have been. Additionally, there was a leak in one of the line fittings they installed, and the back pressure caused by the leak within the sprinkler system, made one of the sprinkler zones to not function. I hired another company to fix the sprinkler system, and all is well now.
Since the sprinkler system modifications weren't done correctly, and that forced me to hire another company to fix the system, I reached out to the owner James several times seeking a refund for that portion of the job. That portion of the job was only $200, but it's the principle that mattered. The almost complete lack of communication to address the issue and make things right, speaks volumes about character.
I wouldn't say don't use this company, but I would ensure you stay involved with the job as it's progressing, and don't pay them until you've carefully inspected the finished product. Good luck with your future projects everyone!

**** Some additional comments seem appropriate here, after the response from the owner ...

1) I asked the company to do the sprinkler job, as soon as the requirement came to light, not to save money, but rather to have it done before the deck was built, which makes sense. I agreed to pay what the company asked, without question.

2) The owner's comments about offering a refund, are complete fiction. I emailed the company several times and asked for a refund of the portion of the bill they charged me for the sprinkler heads, and never got a response (except for the owner asking how the installation affected the remaining sprinkler system). There was never a request for a receipt from the sprinkler company, and never an offer to refund 50% of that cost either. "IF" the company is now offering to do the right thing and refund the repair from the other company, I'd gladly provide a receipt of their services, and change my rating "after" receiving that refund. Again, I never received an offer to refund 50% or any other amount, prior to reading the owner's response.

3) The company did not do any additional work from the original contract, other than the sprinkler work, which wasn't done correctly (as explained).

4) According to the deck and gazebo builders, I was one of their favorite customers and I didn't stand over them, but rather I helped with almost every aspect of the construction process (lending them tools, assembling the gazebo components while they built the deck, then helped them assemble the gazebo). Additionally, I shared beverages with them at the end of every day they were on the job.

These are the facts! I never would have even written a review, but felt compelled to do so based upon the company's almost complete lack of communication to address the sprinkler issue and make things right. ****

St Augustine Fence & Outdoor Construction were quick to respond and did a great job.
I was worried that since we just had a small project, adding gate to a fence, that they wouldn’t be interested.
I had no need to be worried, it seems that they do big and small projects with the same professional service.
Would definitely hire them again!

James and the crew at St Augustine Fence & Outdoor Construction were great from start to finish. Communication from Jeannine in the office was exceptional. I was kept up to date from scheduling the quote through the final follow up to make sure we were completely satisfied. Honestly, my fence was beefier and better than I had anticipated. Chris and his crew did a great job not only constructing the fence but making sure the area stayed neat and clean throughout and upon completion of the process. Folks that do what they say when they say they are going to do it are the ones I want to to business with. I will be contacting them soon for our pavers.

The guys did a great job screening in our balcony. Walked us through certain details or decisions. Turn out so nice.

I was very satisfied with the work they did. Our fence is both vinyl and aluminum combined. It looks fantastic. The crew was careful with our existing landscaping and the office answered all of our questions quickly. I would definitely use them again.

After working with several fence companies that were late, no called on estimate day and various issues, we contacted St Aug fence and it was the best decision we made. They were quick to respond. They matched other companies estimates and got the job done very fast. We could not be happier!

OK, getting a fence these days is almost impossible, i had 4 estimates but none could come out earlier than 8 weeks except ST Augustine Outdoor, they came out as promised and installed not only the fence but screened in the deck. Gary and Nathan were so respectful and professional. They were neat and the install was professional. The prices were very good and they were flexible with install, i would recommend talking to James for all your fencing and screen projects. They also closed in our outdoor shower and it came out amazing

This is my second project with St Augustine Fence & Outdoor Construction. They have built a wood deck for me and recently a installed a paver area. Both were projects were completed perfectly. Installers showed up on the day promised, worked very hard and completed the job in record time. Cleaned up afterwards and my new paver patio looks great! Other contractor quotes were as much as $1,400 higher for the same exact size and pavers. Highly recommended!

These guys are great! I had a screened in patio enclosure installed. The workmanship was top-notch. The office staff (particularly Jeanine) was very helpful, very friendly, and very responsive. They took care of all of the permit and planning process for me, and kept me informed. Austin was in charge of the installation and was exceptionally cooperative and responsive to all my needs and questions. I would recommend this company to anyone in the market!

Not sure why....but the back end of my fence was buried 3-4 inches under the ground. The bottom of my fence is completely rotted.
I asked several times for someone to come out and fix or adjust the back fence.....which also sits 3-4 inches lower then the left and right side of my fence. CRAZY that all sides would sit level with each other ...right?
I WAS TOLD THE OWNER WOULD STOP BY OR CALL ME. HE NEVER DID!

We had a paver patio and grill wall installed and it looks great. The material is good quality stone and the guys made sure each piece fit perfectly. The men were very respectful, answered all of our questions and completed the job when promised. We are, another satisfied customer and recommend them for your next project.

The crews came out and did an outstanding job. Jeannine and Debbie were excellent to work with in meeting my approval needs with my Association with Treaty Oaks. The fence is level with no issues. I would highly recommend them to others as a Retired Fire Chief/Fire Marshal.

Got there in the end and it looks nice mostly BUT - I went to the showroom on Rt 16 on the 5th of November to make selections and leave my 50% deposit, being assured they’d start either the week of Thanksgiving or right after and they’d be here and done in 3 days. On December 10th they finally started. When the first two guys, who don’t speak any English, showed up on Monday they didn’t have a plan or any idea what they were supposed to be doing. I had to print them a copy of the plan and try to explain what they were supposed to be doing. They were here most of the day on Monday, then didn’t show up until After 1pm Tuesday and Thursday, and knocked off about 2pm on Wednesday. Friday it was forecast to rain, but didn’t until 2pm and they could have gone a long way toward finishing this off, so a total no-show on Friday without any notification. They left both my hoses running, and junk lying all around the yard, plus a big pile of substrate and unused blocks in my drive for the weekend. Monday the 17th at 11am no one had shown up or called so I called the office and got no answer but left a voicemail on when they might be coming out to finish this up as I have family arriving from all over the world for Christmas, which they’ve known since November 5th. About one PM two guys showed up asking what needed to be done and were totally shocked by the amount of material left lying around. They’d been told there were a “few things to pick up” when in reality there was about half a truck of substrate and 3 pallets of pavers/blocks and a pile of junk in my yard and driveway. In the end the product is what I expected, but they were big on promise and very slow to deliver. 2 stars for eventually building my patio correctly, but that’s it, customer service and communication doesn’t exist with the client or clearly even within the company and I'll have to hire a landscaper to come in and cleanup the rest of their mess and get my yard sorted out.

I recently had a privacy fence encircling my HUGE backyard. The work and products used were excellent and the workers stayed on task until the work was done, which was just four days! Incredible! I wish there were more than just a five star rating! I highly recommend this company!

They did a great job with replacement of my fence. They also quoted best offer and match the product with neighbors. Neighbors contractor were much more higher than this company. 100% satisfied customer.

I had an old wooden fence in my backyard that needed to be replaced. They started the project when they said they would and even battled a few Florida afternoon rain showers in the process. Their team took everything down for me and hauled it away. The new fence looks amazing and I could not be happier with the outcome.

It all started off well, I received a quote from online that was a lot lower than I had ever expected. All things being too good to be true, I made an appointment to have someone come out and make sure they can do the deck I wanted for the price they quoted. There were a few things on the property that needed to be visually addressed. I took a few hours off work and waited. NO SHOW!! Everyone has a cell phone...for Pete's sake, just let me know if you will not make it or will be late, NO EXCUSES for not communicating! I had an appointment, lost wages for taking time off! I called the office, the receptionist did her best to cover for the rep. She said she would have him call me...well no call, no nothing...If I could give a negative review I would. If you don't want me business because you have more than enough, let me know. Don't waste my time. What has happened to on the job integrity? I really hope your business suffers greatly if you continue like this. I'm all for supporting local businesses and go out of my way to do so, but this is no way to treat your customers.

I write very few reviews. Most service businesses leave me disappointed. Not the case with these folks. Absolutely top notch. From start to finish, this company was great. It was a relatively small job. Rescreen a condo balcony with 20x20 gauge. I wanted the work done on short notice. I got a fair quote directly from the owner. They scheduled the job to fit my time frame. The installer was an expert and the work is flawless. Interaction with the office by phone was also a pleasure.

I will be sure to recommend this company to all my friends.

James and his team have installed aluminum fencing for me at two of my residences. He is professional, timely, provides great customer communication and provides a quality job at competitive pricing. I would recommend anyone looking for a quality fence installation in St. Johns or southern Duval area to meet with James before you select another company. He'll continue to get my future business!

Worker Rusty came out to install a kickplate. He spent 90% of the time on his phone and cut all the supports short. The owner told me he was going to fire Rusty but don't think he did. He was also going to come out and check the job but never did. Another worker made it look nice by caulking all the supports but not what I was expecting. I have more work I want done but will go with someone else.

The job was done in a very timely manner. they had done part of the fence a few years ago and now the neighbor took down her part of a wood fence so I asked them to finish my property. they had to order the fence so it would match and did a great job. They even didn't get around to collecting for the fence till about 2 weeks after they were finished. I would recomend them and use them again .

Amazing fast beautiful work. I highly recommend them. It's a way better alternative than what the Big Box stores have to offer. Both in quality and price.

St Augustine Fence was terrific to work with! I especially liked that the owner didn't allow himself to be distracted by his constantly ringing phone while speaking with me. He also took plenty of time to review my boundary survey and answer questions. The fence was installed timely and I was able to move into my new home with my two dogs.
