Used 2 years ago on the purchase of our home. Inspection was GREAT - however, we paid for the mold inspection and never received it. Ended up purchasing our home anyways in hopes it didn’t have any - but we contacted him several times after to try to ask for the report and/or a refund and he basically ghosted us. Unsure if our emails went to spam or his phone wasn’t working - but we never heard from the guy again. Tried a year and a half later to ask about it and never heard anything.

If he didn’t want to refund, that’s fine. If he lost it - that’s okay. I would be fine with doing the inspection now, just so we know. Not responding at all is unprofessional IMO.

I do want to emphasize that he did a GREAT job with the home inspection. Very thorough. Just disappointed we didn’t get all that we paid for.

I used Southpaw for the first time to check out a potential investment property. I have used quite a few home inspectors in the past and this company far exceeds the rest.

Extremely thorough inspection.!!
My husband and I felt we had really evaluated the home. Mr. Woodall found problems that could cause home damage and be expensive to solve. The cost of only ONE of the problems paid for the inspection. Found expensive problems with the roof we did not see until he pointed them out. Mr Woodall arrived at the exact time of the appointment and was very patient to show and explain every part of the inspection.

Moved from out of state a few months back and had this company do the inspection for us after we had had a video tour only and offered based on that knowing we’d have a thorough inspection. We’ve been coming across more and more that was glossed over in the inspection which played a huge role in us buying the property.

The roof was not in good overall health, it is pitting and at the end of its life. Upon going back to the inspection report, there are only pictures from the ground so no one never went up on the roof to inspect it since they didn’t have a ladder. There were windows with water damage, again not notated on the inspection report instead it said they were in great shape. There have been a few other things like backward wired gfcis, etc.

We’re disappointed we trusted this company’s word on the property’s condition for such basic and catchable deficiencies. It feels like zero effort for the roof which is a big ticket item to not even attempt to document up close.

We were very pleased with this company. As soon as he arrived, he got straight to work. The inspector displayed much patience with me as I love to learn and ask many questions. After his initial inspection, he took me around the exterior and interior of the house explaining (on a layman level) and allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted. He was polite, respectful, and professional. We will most certainly use him in the future and will recommend Southpaw Property Inspection to any and all.

Not only did he do an in-depth inspection, he answered all of my questions and even explained everything in detail. Super nice & sweet guy! I am SO happy we went with company!
