I recently had the unfortunate experience of working with Belinda from Solar Montana regarding an order of solar panels, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts for the benefit of others in the industry.

From the outset, our interactions with Belinda were far from professional. Rather than facilitating a smooth process, she seemed intent on creating conflict. It was alarming when we learned that she reached out to several of our partners, including representatives from Energy Bin and Q Cells, to discuss our order. These conversations were not only unnecessary but damaging, as Belinda appeared to be dragging our name through the mud. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any professional setting, especially in an industry that thrives on collaboration.

Moreover, Belinda's attitude during our interactions was condescending and belittling. She often spoke down to our employees, creating an uncomfortable environment that stifled communication and fostered frustration. A successful partnership is built on mutual respect, and it was clear that Belinda did not understand this fundamental principle.

What was particularly concerning was her apparent lack of knowledge about the solar industry. It became evident that she was not familiar with the intricacies of the business, which raises doubts about her capability to contribute effectively to any project. This lack of expertise, combined with her abrasive demeanor, made it challenging to navigate what should have been a straightforward process.

In conclusion, our experience with Belinda at Solar Montana was anything but positive. Her unprofessional conduct, undermining of our reputation, and lack of industry knowledge ultimately led us to question our partnership with Solar Montana. It is essential for individuals in the solar industry to embody professionalism and collaborative spirit, qualities that Belinda unfortunately does not possess. We hope that Solar Montana takes this feedback seriously and considers how their team can better represent the company and the values of the solar community moving forward.

I cannot say how strongly I can recommend Solar Montana. From start to finish, they have been a class act. They are local ( important ), reliable, reasonable, responsive and responsible. Every single person installing our panels was extremely nice and respectful. We did need three panels replaced that were underperforming and Matt was incredible at getting them replaced. They also had Blair Crumb from Apex electrical help with the job. This man has mad skills and is also one of the finest. Not a paid advertisement- don’t hesitate to go with your hometown solar installers with Solar Montana. I’m hard to please and we couldn’t be happier!!! Thanks to Jack, Belinda, Matt, Blair and everyone else who made this a seamless experience!!!

We are really pleased with our new solar installation. Since Solar Montana installed 38 panels in April, our power bill has been $4.20 each month. Nice to work with a local company!

I had a fantastic experience working with Solar Montana on my Enphase solar installation. From day one, their team was professional, thorough, and committed to doing the job right.

Even when we ran into a tricky technical issue involving firmware and unexplained system reboots, they stayed with it—communicating clearly and helping me troubleshoot the problem until it was resolved. Matt, in particular, went above and beyond. He was responsive to my questions and gave me the confidence to fully understand and monitor my system.

Since resolving the issue, the system has been rock solid. I check production daily, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. It’s rare to find a company that stands behind their work and values the customer’s input like this team did.

I cannot praise this company and Jack enough. I nearly made a mistake and went with a company that overly advertises. Luckily I did my research and found Solar Montana, who worked with my busy schedule, provided high quality panels, always answered my call/email, and worked efficiently to get the job done in less than 3 months. They were also nearly 40% less than that other company! Jack, the owner, takes pride in his work, makes sure everything is installed correctly, and aesthetically appealing too. I can see huge aesthetic and functionality difference in the neighboring houses installed by that other company and mine. Obviously, mine is done professionally and properly. Stay local, and go with Solar Montana, you will not regret it.

Solar Montana did a great job from start to finish. Jack came and provided an estimate, explained clearly how many panels were appropriate and the tax implications. As this was new construction, Solar Montana worked seamlessly with the contractor and Northwestern Power. It was a wonderful day when the panels were connected to the grid and the app to track them is easy and intuitive.

These guys are fantastic! Jack and his crew are so easy to work with. We recently had a loose connection in our junction box and were receiving some erratic readings for production. I will also point out that a Majority of your 5 Star reviews are posted by people who never reviewed a business before. Like Fake News, they are Fake Reviews.
"This business is run by jerks and is a joke. I sent them specs for my system to get a quote. The guy said he would have it priced out in a few days. I called back in two weeks since I had not heard from them. The clown who answered the phone said they needed a $500 "review fee" before they would give me a quote. Go elsewhere."

We retained Solar Montana to install solar panels on our new house in Helena in late 2017. Jack coordinated perfectly with our construction contractor, and Jack and his crew got the solar array up in a very timely manner. Jack was available throughout the process to explain the installation steps and system operation, and he's still always willing to answer any questions that we might have. A zero electricity bill through this hot summer of 2018, including occasional air-conditioning, is a real testimony to the effectiveness of the solar system. Overall, Solar Montana is a top quality operation with great people -- I highly recommend them.

Solar Montana has installed two pedestal mount photovoltaic projects totaling 6Kw. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of their work and the performance of the system.

Solar Montana installed 49 panels on our south facing roof. The net meter is still in credit territory even though it wasn't installed exactly on the fiscal year start of 4/1. We have even added electrical usage with a pole barn and dehumidifier. It is working very well! Their expertise and patience is exceptional as is the quality of their installation.

They installed our Solar system about 1.5 years ago. The installation went very smoothly and it has been working flawlessly since then. Couldn't be happier with our solar installation!

Solar Montana has installed two solar arrays for us in the last five years. Jack Isbell has been great to work with; he is polite and helpful. His installation crew and electrician did nice work and the product has delivered as promised.
The most common question I hear is "Does a solar array pencil out?" I will attempt to answer this.
When we installed our two grid-tie systems, there were rebates available from NW Energy, tax rebates from Fed and State government, and 0% Loans from the City of Helena. These incentives helped a lot to reduce the upfront and long term cost of the arrays. I am not sure what's available in 2018. Ask Jack :)
Our 5kw array was designed to offset the operational cost of the electric heat/wood stove combination at a good sized cabin in the woods. It has done a great job and we have no electricity costs from May-Dec. According to Budget Billing, we would be at $98/month for heat and electricity, which is pretty good for 2500 sq ft. I would say the array will pay off in a total of 11 years. So only 6 to go!
Our 11kw array in helena was designed to offset our electricity bill to zero dollars each month. It is coming very close to doing that, although the pile of snow on it this winter has pretty well shut it down. Our credits built up from last summer ran out in Jan and I would expect to start generating power again in late March. This array was funded by $3000 down, a tax rebate, and a loan from the City of Helena's Renewable Energy fund. If electricity prices remain the same, this array will pay for itself in 13 years. If rates go up, the payoff time comes down.
I know this was a wordy review, but it seems like there are lots of questions concerning solar. I will conclude by saying that I think solar comes pretty close to pencilling out on paper, but there is a significant upfront cost. You will need to stay in your house for at least ten years to see the payoff, but you will enjoy watching your power bill to see how your array is doing. And there is a definite feel-good factor to having that array up there.
I will not hesitate to use Solar Montana again.

This is an excellent locally owned company in Helena. Jack designed and installed a system on our home and on a recreational property. He is very knowledgeable in all aspects of solar systems. Our home system supplies most of our electricity 10 months of the year.

The solar system on our recreational property meets our needs for power off the grid.
Jack is very prompt in returning phone calls and is always willing to answer any questions or address any issues we may have.

My Wife and I were recently awarded an interest free Loan for renewable energy projects on our home. Our home has a steep pitched roof that faces almost due south which makes for an ideal Solar array. We called Jack at Solar Montana and had him give us a quote.
