I've never posted a review on google, but Phil's work was so good I thought I should brag about it. My mom is 95, and her house and garage needed new roofs. I was concerned about the chaos and the noise and how long she would be inconvenienced. Unlike many other contractors, Phil addressed my mom directly and without condescension. He discussed his plan (just one day of my mom needing to be away), provided a reasonable bid, and did exactly what he said he would do. Not only his work, but also his courtesy and thoughtfulness were deeply appreciated.

We worked with Shumway services on my family’s project. He did a very good job with taking care of the house. Phil and the crew were amazing, Everything came out very clean and the new roof and siding look great.

We had Phil and his crew put a new roof on our place in East Hampton. Truly one of the best experiences we've had with anyone in the home repair/roofing business. After we reviewed his contract and pricing, we signed right away. After that Shumway services was on site and finished with the job sooner then we expected. The new roof is beautiful and functions as a new roof should of course. Phil and his crew even reset our old gutters that were badly in need of adjustment. This was more than we asked for or expected. Post construction was just as good. No debris no nails, nothing. You wouldn't even know that a crew had been on site. I believe it's a good measure of how someone works when there's no one watching. Shumway service measured up exceedingly well. We couldn't be on site during the roof replacement process, we didn't need to be. Phil Shumway and Shumway services treated the property as if it was their own. I highly recommend Shumway services for high quality roofing work and very reasonable pricing.

I rarely if ever leave public reviews but Phil and his team did such a great job that I wanted to spread the word. From the start, Phil was available and responsive and didn't mind going back and forth until all the details were settled - that alone is hard to find today. Our new roof looks fantastic and not only that - he took down our little dragon weathervane and repaired it, put a fresh coat of paint on it, then circled back around on his own time to put it back on the roof. That was above and beyond the call of duty and we appreciate it.

We needed a new roof in a hurry, and Shumway Services was able to accommodate us even though it was very late in the roofing season. They were able to expedite the permitting process and the whole roof job was completed in a single day.

Shumway Services is my go to choice for all my various maintenance tasks. I was recently in a pinch to get the ice taken care of on my driveway, Phil was very responsive to my text when I asked him to come take care of it. He was there and done within an hour after asking him. Prices are very reasonable, he goes above and beyond to make sure all his clients are well taken care of and safe in this treacherous ice we have been stuck with this winter. Highly recommend giving them a call/text!

Phil Shumway and company did many projects over the years for me at my house. From roof repair, interior and exterior painting, replacing fixtures, improvements, decks, windows and more! Phil and Shumway Services were my primary source for all home repair and upkeep needs. He was consistently professional, excellent work, great integrity, and reliability. I recommend him whole heartedly!

Shumway Services replaced the shingle roofing on garage roof. I was very impressed with their customer service. They responded to my initial call very quickly, came to see the garage within a day or two, provided a written quote and repaired the roof all within ten days. The guys doing the job were friendly and helpful and they thoroughly cleaned up the site when they were done. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Prior to getting our new roof installed Shumway had done a couple of minor repairs for us. I really appreciated Phil's honesty about the state of our roof and when we might need to replace it. As a new homeowner he could've sold me on a new roof five years ago but did not and he was right that we got another five years out of it. We just had the entire roof done and could not be happier. Phil helped us choose a color and our neighbors keep stopping us to gush about how great it looks. The project took exactly as long as he said it would with the exception of weather delays beyond anyone's control. One night there was a torrential down pour and I could hear what sounded like water dripping in or near my chimney. Phil rushed over and climbed up on our roof in the pouring rain to discover that the issue was not related to his crew's work but that our chimney was damaged. Ultimately he came up with a way to fix/seal this as a very affordable addition to the cost of the roof work. What really stood out was that Phil climbed up into my attic with a bucket to check for damage and put a bucket out if needed. He did not need to do this. The leak was not his responsibility but he just helped me out because my husband was unavailable and I said I don't go in the attic! I highly highly recommend Shumway Services. They are honest, reliable, affordable, and do great work.

Phil, Joe, and Paul installed our new roof. They are hard workers that care about the quality of their work. The roof looks great! Phil patiently answered questions along the way and seamlessly dealt with issues as they arose (some rotting wood/gutter attachment). We found his price to be competitive. I had a problem with insufficient attic ventilation. I contacted a few firms about this issue, but Phil Shumway was the only one to convincingly diagnose the problem. When they came out they did the work professionally - everything looks great and as discussed.

I had my roof replaced by Shumway services. The cost was reasonable. I especially appreciated how well Phil Shumway explained what he would do and why (my old roof had two layers of shingle that had to be ripped off), and what might come up as expenses above his estimate (replacing some underlayment and flashing). I am having him do some further work on siding. We had some delays in the permits, the weather (!) and my travels but the results are very good!

I would use Shumway services again, they were quick to respond to my queries and fixed my roofing issues in no time, which fortunately they said was a minor issue. The guys came and repaired it at a reasonable price, very professional and nice people!

These guys rescued me when I accidentally got my car stuck in the snow in the middle of a corn field. They kindly dropped what they were doing to come dig out my car for me. They were extremely helpful and responded immediately.

Been using Shumway services for a few years now. They do their job very well and thoroughly. I'm a little ways from where they usually work out of but they still come to me and do a great job. My brother also has been using them and has no complaints. Good work, good people, good prices.
