Dear SERVPRO I am writing to you to file a complaint about the service(lack of) that I recieved on April 19 and 20, 2022. I hired your service in March to clean/recover my home at 2622 Keystone Ct. Newburgh, In 47630. We had moved out and was finishing construction/painting home so it could be put up on the market on April 22. On April 4, 2022 I booked your service for April 19 and was told it would take 2 days. So my realtor could put home on market on April 22, 2022. The service you were suppose to provide was to clean cabinets, floors(including slate flooring, carpet flooring, and tile, walls( which was just painted), ceiling, tiles, appliances, wet bar, closets, windows and vents. On April 19, 2022 two girls showed up at 8 AM. They had some equipment but said they had to wait for cleaning chemicals to start. Also, I notice the only cleaning machine they had for the 2 days was a carpet machine. No buffer machines for tile or slate. I also pointed out to them on slate flooring you are not suppose to use harsh chemicals. Use dawn liquid and water to clean floors with a buffer machine or slate floor cleaner which I provided for them on the wet bar. You could damage the slate floor by using the wrong materiel. They got upset with me when I pointed this out to them again on the 3rd day they had to come back to "make it right" , clean scuff marks in hallway (which needed a magic eraser and elbow grease), cabinets which they didnt touch, and paint on floors( which comes clean with proper equipment and elbow grease). On April 20, 2020 only one girl showed up 3 hrs late at 11 AM. She stated she slept in. Then when you said you were done with the job I reviewed it with you. It was appalling. I pointed out the floors, cabinets, fire place mantle, laundry room walls, wet bar, windows, and shower were still filthy. I pointed out the scuff marks, dirt, and paint still on floors which when I bent down with a magic eraser, cleaning material, and a little effort it can be cleaned. This was unacceptable since the home was not cleaned. I came in the next day at 6 AM to take time off my busy schedule and with my medical issues to clean it myself. You showed up with the 2 girls at 10 AM and said "you would make it right." By that time I had cleaned the front hallway, dining room, and was working in the kitchen on the cabinets. I pointed out to the girls the kitchen cabinets werent done since there were things in the cabinets and in one drawer ir was full since I forgot the things when I moved. The girls were complaining about being there and when they went to lunch I got a call that they were not coming back. Your service was unacceptable which I expressed to you at that time. My realators said it could not be put on the market in the condition you left it. Making me miss my showing/market date by 2 weeks. I did have to hire Stanley Steamer to do your job. I also put in 40 hours of back breaking work myself to get the laundry room, shower, wet bar and all cabinets and closets.
In conclusion, this has caused a great deal of stress and hassle on my part. You did not fullfill your contract and had plenty of time to correct the situation. Sincerely. Kathleen Pettijohn
