I cannot say enough about the incredible support and professionalism provided by ServiceMaster throughout our insurance claim process. From the very first contact, their team demonstrated exceptional expertise, guiding us through every step with clarity, compassion, and precision.

Daniel and Shaleen and their team were excellent. Very proactive and focussed communication that kept us in the loop and made us aware of things that needed clarity from us. Always pleasant to work with. Your various trades were very good to work with too. Your flooring contractor on this one was incredible to work with too! I would use them all the time if you could!
Schedules created and followed, people showing up on time and communicating directly to keep us informed. It was well done.
Cheers.

Appreciation for Excellent Service by Project Manager Kunwar Chatwal/ServiceMaster Restore of Fraser Valley
I recently experienced a water damage incident at my home, and I would like to take this opportunity to commend your Project Manager, Kunwar Chatwal for the outstanding service he provided throughout the restoration process.
This was my first time working with your company, and I am extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and support Kunwar Chatwal demonstrated. He was patient, calm, and understanding with our family during what was a highly stressful and frustrating time. His dedication and willingness to assist in every aspect of the claim were truly commendable.
Kunwar consistently coordinated with both his crew and me to ensure the work was completed according to plan and to a high standard. His communication and attention to detail made a significant difference in managing the situation smoothly.
I have already shared my positive experience with my home insurance provider, specifically highlighting the excellent service provided by Kunwar. I will not hesitate to recommend your company to family and friends. Furthermore, I would be confident in choosing your company again for any future restoration needs.
Thank you for your exceptional service.
Sincerely,
L. Samuels

We had a tree strike on our home last December and our insurance provider had Servicemaster Restore contracted to quote on and perform the necessary repairs. Adam Goy was the estimator who oversaw the project. He was very good at explaining the scope of work which needed to be performed and followed the project through from beginning to end. We are very pleased with the end result.

They were there immediately when we needed them, even over Christmas. Did a great job restoring our basement after our sewer back up. We definitely recommend going with ServiceMaster.

Workmanship was good. Communication and length of completion of the repair was 2/5 at best. I had to follow up multiple times about when the next trade was coming, it's clear the trades don't converse with head office which made this miniscule roof job take over a month to complete.

Industrial size dehumidifiers ran a week longer than needed because "other jobs" popped up. My noisiest/irritated 2 weeks off work during Christmas to date.

I called Service Master when our basement flooded. The first thing I will say is that there is no joy in having a flood, but Daniel and his team really made us feel at ease and handled everything. The team showed up and moved everything into storage. They were very polite, knowledgeable and efficient. Any of our concerns were dealt with and we are super happy with the results.

Service master tech was checking leak in our bathroom from the unit above. Service master guy was placing moisture detector on the grout between shower wall tiles while explaining me that there is a lots of moisture in the wall. I was just watching and couldnt believe that he is metering moiusture after I took a shower that morning. The whole bathroom was demolished and after they removed shower walls I found dry insulation and dry wood studs. There was absolutely no water damage only drywall ceiling was wet due to dripping from the unit above shower drain. It was absolutely not necessary to demolish half of the bathroom. It took them about three weeks to repair drywall and install wall tiles in one small bathroom.

I have been communicating with Nancy Porter in regards to property damage from a vehicle. I must say she truly is incompetent and dishonest. No communication with the home owner, difficult to get a hold of, will deny or seems surprised of an issue. You need to hire members who care and put clients 1st.

My claims Number is: 24-21548-STR
And my job number is 24-21548-NP In case you deny I am a client.

Called for them to review a POSSIBLE issue as extent of water damage was not known. Was told we had extensive water damage, black mold and that it was bad. Turned out, once work had started, it was obvious to us and contractors that there was no water damage and no black mold. Lost deductible over work that wasn't needed (if we have a real issue will have to pay out a lot more now) and face increased premiums (because we all need to pay out extra in this economy).

Look no further than Service Master if your home has had an unexpected disaster! We had a flood due to a broken hot water line and this company brought in a Dream Team of contractors to do a complete and fantastic restoration. The quality of their materials and workmanship are top notch!

Do not work with this company. Beware. Beware. Worst experience I ever had.
Their scheduling fell apart from day one. A one month project became 4 months. Entirely incapable of organizing a project.

People showed up unannounced, in the wrong order, and horrifically shoddy work.

My wife and I had to organize and schedule subcontractors.
This company had no idea who was doing what, when.
My wife and I had to clean up after them - left worksites an utter mess and dangerous - screws, nails, splinters all over the floor.
They didn't cover anything, got dust and debris on my guitars, and computers.

Constantly tried to do insanely sub-standard work then get you to agree that it was complete.

Stay as far away from this company as you can.

Only giving 1 star because that is the lowest you can give. We had a flood in January in our apartment. ServiceMaster was the restoration company that was hired to fix our apartments. Fast forward to July 5th when we were finally able to return to our apartment and what has followed has been absolute hell on earth. Because of their employees dumping stuff down our bathroom drains we have had to deal with 5 toilet floods and feces filling our tub. Can't get anyone to return our calls and my bathroom is now a biohazard that stinks worse than an outhouse in the hot summer. We have barely been able to live in our apartment and had to deal with days of not being able to use any water. On top of all this my towels have to be replaced and I feel sick everytime I walk by the bathroom. Absolutely the worst company I have ever seen in my life.

Our house was badly damaged by a fallen tree back in Nov 2022. The restoration contractor we first had didn't do much in the first 10 months after the mishap. It was until Aug 2023, ServiceMaster took over the restoration project, then the restoration work started immediately. By now, after 11 months, everything was restored to its original beauty (though we lost our sunroom, it was replaced by a new deck). Although we were not free from any hiccups during the restoration process, ServiceMaster's professional prompt support to us was highly appreciated. We need to give special thanks to Adam!

Living on the ground floor of a condominium building have not been without its challenges. This is the second time I needed restoration done on my unit because of water leakage from the floors above mine. Service Master quickly responded to my call for service both times. Dan Turner, who was the the project manager this second time around, checked and assessed the damage right away and in a matter of a few days, work started in my unit. It took longer than I expected for the work to be completed but Dan kept me updated and took the time to call me right back to answer questions I might have. Most of the subcontractors that they sent were all very professional in their work and respectful of their surroundings. In the end, I am happy with the work that they have done and would certainly recommend them to anyone who needs restoration work done.

Michelle and Nancy’s crew got my kitchen and pantry’s packed and ready to go in no time. Many positive Kudos.
Mikes crew moved all my belongings out and safely into storage. Once again these folks are the best of the best. Highly recommend Service Master. In my haste to send a review of the superior service we continue to receive from Service Master, I realized that I failed to acknowledge Matt Derish, who is the Project Manager, and his crew, who have supported us since day 1 with the utmost care and attention to detail even down to responding to our emails in the midst of his busy schedule.

You may want to talk to your employees about how they represent your company. This morning ay 7:20am one of your vans (with a burnt out headlight)was behind me at 84th and 200th. I was turning right and because I waited till I felt it was safe he honked at me three times. Once we turned he proceeded to zoom past me honk again amd give me the finger.

We own a commercial building and did an insurance claim to renovate the commercial space on the ground floor. After the work was completed, we paid over $17,000 for all the work in 2021.

A year later, we were given an invoice to pay an additional $1200 for the GST owing. We questioned why the invoice came a year after the work was done, and was not called back with an answer, so we figured it was a mistake.

Fast forward to 2023, we had a leak within the walls of the renovated office space, so we called service master again because we thought it was due to the work that they did. Turns out it was an old pipe that cracked and leaked, so it was repairable and not part of any warranty work.

A quote was provided for all the work to be done, which was around $3900. I have emailed receipts which confirmed that this would be the total cost of the repair job to complete the whole job, including repairing the walls, tiles and paint.

The job was not completed, and service master demanded that the owing invoice from 2022 be paid or else they will not finish the job. My tenant cannot use the office space due to the incomplete work, so in otherwords, we felt that Service Masters was holding the tenant hostage unless we pay this invoice. We found out that the GST invoice was pushed on to the insurance adjuster, then the tenant, then onto us.

We are very shocked by how Service Master does business, especially when they were treating us like we were non-paying customers. Never dealt with a less professional company in the decades of property management.

We already put down a $5000 deposit on the current work, and when we got the final bill, it jumped up to $5565, almost $1600 more than their original quote. We are tired of arguing with Service Masters, of their unethical business practices, lying about their quotes, lack of communication, upcharging, and unprofessional attitude. We just want the office space completed because my tenant hasn't been able to use the office for almost a month. Never will recommend this shady company or use their services again.

UPDATE: I am still in the process of tracking down stolen items from the home. These items were either stolen by the landlord or the restoration company while the fence was up. I am missing jewelry, and musical equipment among many other things. When we went into retrieve my belongings, my safe had been taken and all wallets and purses have been rifled through.
………….
This company was hired by my landlord’s insurance company. Imagine, going through the trauma of barely getting your child out of the home alive because the smoke detectors were never fixed and losing all of your family possessions and heirlooms only to find out after the investigation was complete, that this restoration company would hold my personal belongings hostage. I have been told by multiple people, including RCMP officers and lawyers that I have the right to go in there and get my belongings. I opened the fence and went in with several witnesses after waiting for two weeks for a resolution. Areas of the house where they said everything was burnt and non-recoverable were absolutely fine. I had hard drives sitting right on a desk and those hard drives I had all of the photos and videos of my child. All of my family memories. Not only did they produce an exaggerated report, but they lied about the condition of my contents and the home itself. After offering to waive all liability for the company so I could go in and retrieve my family valuables and sentimental items, I was denied and told that all my stuff would be demolished with the home. I entered yesterday and took video evidence of numerous boxes of items that were untouched by damage. I barely interacted with the security guard on site, but was told by Adam the project manager, that they would be pressing charges even though the police refused to attend because they said I had every right to get my belongings out. I had multiple witnesses who filmed everything and he is alleging that I assaulted the security guard, even though she put her hands on me and Adam was not there. I was told by Servicemaster I would be cleared to remove garage items because they were never near the fire, this company decided to bolt the garage door shut and are continuing to hold my items hostage. They were willing to open the gate for a payout from me, a person who just lost everything, so at this point, it’s just a money grab and this company has zero empathy. Just because I don’t have my own insurance, doesn’t mean I don’t deserve to be treated like a human being. I’m not even asking them to do anything and it does not cost anything to have a security guard who is already paid to be there open a gate. No one should ever have to be put in a position where they have to fight to get their own belongings. Shame on this company!

Contractors for Service Master are just messing around. Small patch in one room to be painted and keeps being moved another day, one day he can't do it after floors were done by lunch even though it would take 10 mins. Next day car battery dead. We keep taking time off work to be there for this and it's been weeks. When they brought in hat fans during the heat wave they left them for a week. Items in our rooms actually melted it was so hot in our house. We had to continually follow up with them to come get them. Nothing but unprofessional and quite frankly lazy behavior. I recommend trying another restoration company!

We were very impressed with the efficiency of Servicemaster in cleanup of water damage in our kitchen. I wanted to give an extra special shout out to Eli who quickly assessed how to dry the area that got wet under the kitchen sink. She tackled it with efficiency and knowledge. Eli made the most amazing tent hook up to the dehumidifier to dry the area & did not stop until she was satisfied with the job she had done.
All of the staff were very communicative, very efficient and friendly. We would not hesitate to use Servicemaster again in the future if we needed restoration.

No one kelp us informed. They never showed up when they said they would. It’s been almost a month and all they have done is dining room and hallway floor removal. They show up without contacting us. They have so far not been able to give us a definitive answer. Highly disappointed ☹️ For such a big company, they need to brush up on their customer service skills

Don’t even know where to begin….we were living a nightmare dealing with another restoration company. A incident that took almost 3 years to mitigate through and have completed. The other Restoration company walked out and left their incomplete mess for us to deal with. Fortunately, we were blessed, Nancy Porter from ServiceMaster was called and I have NO words that would show our gratitude!!! Nancy, was very professional, very detailed and DEFINITELY knows her stuff. Beyond, the knowledge and amazing work that was done on our home, Nancy has COMPASSION, she truly cared and turned our nightmare around in 7 weeks. Our home looks Beautiful and everything was done correctly. The staff that came to our home and same with the Trades that were hired by Nancy were all incredible. Honestly, if you are reading this post….it is a blessing for you, I only wish Nancy Porter did our work from the very beginning BUT at least we got a happy ending!!!

Called them to look at my roof. Said they would come next day in the morning. 12:00 pm and no show. Called them and they said I was not scheduled but would come over right away. We talked about my problems and said he would get a contractor to schedule when he could take a look. A week passed without any calls. So I phone service master back. They said they would get hold of the contractor again to give me a call. Another week passed and still nothing. So again I call service master back. And they again they would get hold of the contractor again. And again have not gotten any calles from the contractor or service master. So went to firstonsite and they have been great.

I do not recommend Service master to anyone, they did a job for the insurance company, if I was the one that hired them, I would send them home on the first day. Bad workmanship, damage the floor, installed shower doors backwards, never on time, took way longer to complete the job than scheduled, no coordination between the tradesmen. never again.

We have owned our house for over 25 years and never had an issue with flooding, until the atmospheric rivers of Nov 2021. We called a number of restoration companies and Service Master was the first to respond in what I’m sure was a very busy period of time. Later the same day, Pete from SM made it out to our house from Abbotsford just as they were closing the highways due to flooding and was able to set up drying equipment right away. Derek Usher from SM helped us through the entire restoration process. Kudos to Derek for his responsiveness. He almost always answered the phone when I called and quickly addressed any concerns I had. All of the staff from Service Master were great to work with right from the first contact through to the final cleaning when the repairs were completed. I sure hope I never need a restoration company again, but if I do, I’ll definitely call Service Master. Thank you!

this company was sent by my insurance company for a flood in my home. I will skip all the things they did not do as it is lengthy, the short of it is they charged in the emergency estimate for items they did not do - the project manager claims he has records they did them! Odd given that no one came to do anything a plumber . The insurance company says for claims this small they just pay them rather than argue. No wonder are rates keep going up. To me charging for things you didn't do is fraud. I removed my own wall, my own flooring - they charged for that, I moved my contents and my freezer- they charged for that, they charged for removing and bagging my wet insulation in my crawlspace and i could take a picture of that is it still in the crawlspace. instead of doing the estimate and making plans for repairs, they had a plumber remove my hot water tank and my appliances, then i took the flooring out- they sent the plumber back to reinstall the appliances ! without any plan for the wall or the floor, to which i guess they figure insurance will pay so why not, I did not allow them to do that. After i said i would do the repairs myself and they could finish the emergency portion- like the insulation removed from the crawlspace, the project manager sent an email saying i wasn't happy at all with them , so maybe the insurance should just pay me out! The plumber they sent almost caused another flood with the capping he did on one pipe! they left their fan on and didn't check it and left water repurging into the crawl space and they lied about what repairs they did. If they have records saying someone came here to do these things, then those have been made up, I live here and i know ! this company is the absolute worst . Just beware if your insurance company sends them to you- they will tell you they will look after everything , no worries. and then you need to worry and start working on getting repairs done yourself. The employees that did come here to install and remove the fans- bashed the project manager and company to me. I should have listened. Very shady.

This was a group of experienced, generous and compassionate tradespeople who persevered through supply shortages, bouts of COVID and the pressure of an overwhelming number of disaster victims.
Project manager Casey always responded quickly to my calls to solve problems or answer questions, as did the sub-contractors.
My house is a custom-built R2000 that Casey, Dean and Ian had never encountered before, but they figured out how it was constructed and replicated it. From contaminated content clearout to completion, everyone worked to take my house from a disgusting, filthy, flooded mess to even better than it was in the least stressful way possible.

Thank you!

Without hesitation I would like to say that Service Master, as a company and as individual employees and trades, made what could have been a very bad situation (a flood that caused all the floors needing to be replaced) an experience that passed with relative ease and comfort. They assessed the damage quickly and presented us with a schedule of repairs that everyone adhered to so all the repairs went smoothly and in a timely manner.

Kudos especially to Tom Gouldstone and Samara Bredlow.

I would certainly recommend using Service Master if you find yourself in a similar situation.

The service was really good. The project manager answered my questions and in a timely manner. Once the insurance company has approved the work, Service Master setup the work items quickly. The work was completed within a couple weeks. I'm happy to see that Service Master hired good trades people to complete the work. They stayed with the project throughout the entire time.
