We just had a new roof installed, they completely stripped off the old roof, repaired some of the plywood underpayment and then installed the new roofing materials. We went with the GAF architectural shingles. What a wonderful job they did. Salas roofing crew are real craftsmen who care about doing a quality job. From start to finish it was A1, they put down protective plastic to catch all the debris and then at the end did a wonderful job cleaning up. This company deserves the 5 stars we give it. Thanks Salas Roofing!!!

I was just bait and switched after agreeing upon a (Cash) price with the owner to replace a small roof on a pool house and replace about 35 interior ceiling tiles. When I initially asked for a proposal he would never give me one. He told me he’d bring one on the day of the job which I thought was very strange. Upon showing up to complete the job today, the owner informed the person who was to do the interior tiles conveniently had to go to Mexico and he didn't know when he’d be back. This seems very strange especially after I spoke to him a day or so ago and he claimed to have bought the ceiling tiles. He said the guy may be back in 2 months but couldn't be sure???? The kicker is he still wanted me to pay him in full (CASH) without the interior ceiling tiles being replaced. He said he didn't know when he'd be back and said maybe in 2 months. By that time the pool house is closed???? I asked to pay in half today and the balance upon the completion of the job and he refused. When I asked to put something in writing he refused. After refusing to accept half the owner simply walked off and had his sidekick put the ladder back on the truck and they both took off. What a great way to do business. I was not about to pay this guy in full and hope for the ceiling guy to return someday. I knew once I was to pay him in full for just the roof he’d never be back to complete the job. When the owner refused to put something in writing I know there is going to be an issue and I would never get the job completely done. I would not suggest anyone do business with these people.

I had a great experience with Salas, they called me back the same day and were able to come out to my house the same day as well. The price was reasonable and the work was done SAME DAY. I will have to wait a while to see how the roof holds up, but right now I'm very happy with the service I received.

Service questions

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
