RVA Restoration started working on my house January 13th 2024. I had extensive water damage to my kitchen, basement and garage. When I called RVA Restoration at 2AM on a Sunday morning Jeff Smith and his team were at my house at 7AM to start the estimating and renovation process. I am very pleased with the craftmanship, knowledge and integrity, along with their extended working hours and friendly communication with every visit. Jeff & the team at RVA Restoration were amazing! The employees who worked in my home were very professional and courteous as were the employees in the office. There were a few hiccups along the way (as with every building project), but they were immediately handled to my satisfaction. I am very pleased with the outcome of my remodeling project. Our septic system failed and backed up into our bathroom. RVA Restoration was prompt, professional, and thorough. Their communication and quality of work were great. I would highly recommend RVA Restoration over the national company’s area franchise.

On March 21st,2021 our life changed drastically within a matter of minutes. We had found ourselves in the middle of a horrible house fire. With only minutes to escape, my family of six had to evacuate with only the clothes on our backs. We sit outsides in our neighbor’s yard in disbelief as we watched our dream home be destroyed. We thank God that everyone managed to get out alive. I lost my pit bull in the fire. I am a disabled veteran and my wife; daughter and three grandchildren live with us. We all were in shock to everything that was happening so quickly right in front of our eyes. While the fire crews were battling the fire, we were approached by Mr. Mike Schmitt, Mr. Mike Murray, and Russ Heiser of RVA Restoration. After connecting with our insurance provider, we met with Russ Heiser and selected RVA Restoration as our contractor. Russ did a phenomenal job with explaining the entire restoration process which confirmed to us that we were in good hands. Within a few days of being placed in temporary housing things started to happen as Mr. Heiser began to collaborate with our insurance provider. We met several times with Mr. Heiser to discuss the rebuilding process. He explained to us not to worry and that the process would take six to nine months providing material availability. He recommended a lot of helpful suggestions but also emphasized that it was our house and that we could rebuild the way we wanted it.
The changes made with his help and supervision were amazing. He really goes the extra mile to please his customers. He was always there to answer any questions or concerns we had and kept in contact with us by phone or email. He was very quick to address any issues or concerns about the project and was there from the beginning to the end. He made it his job to walk us through the process. He also encouraged us to order items ahead of time so that they would be available for the contractors. Mr. Heiser even dedicated time to personally shop with us and helped us with selecting appliances, room colors, cabinetry and more. Mr. Heiser seems to find pleasure in working closely with his clients. He told us when we started that it would be a totally new house when RVA Restoration finished. He kept his promise as the site supervisor and the RVA Restoration crew did a superb job. The house is very nice with detailed personalization that suits my family and I needs. We were allowed to put input into every detail of the reconstruction. The clean-up crew worked well with preserving some of our items that could be saved and stored them for us. They left the area neat and disposed of all trash. All the contractors remained on task. The HAVAC crew did an excellent job along with the electrician. The project was completed within 10 months only because of delays in material delivery. The only minor compliant we have is with the carpet installation. Carpet installation occurred while contractors were still completing the project. When we moved in we noticed that there were soil spots on the carpet due to the contractors not covering their shoes. Overall, I would give RVA Restoration a 5-star performance. Thank you for a job well done. We truly feel like we have our dream home. We tell everyone how pleased we are with the final project. Fantastic crew both in office and in the field. Our project managers helped us navigate an incredibly stressful and difficult process with our insurance company which was less than helpful/responsive when our son's bedroom ceiling collapsed from an HVAC leak in the attic and got us moving and him back in his room the moment they became involved. Highly recommend.

RVA was a great business to work with. Pricing was reasonable, and the work was explained well to me. My project manager Krist was in constant contact with me and kept the subcontractors on schedule so the work was done quickly.

Remodeled master bath. Totally gutted and started from scratch. Turned a really cramped space into a very updated and functional bath. Took a little longer than expected with supply issued as a result of COVID but when finished, the room is perfect, very pleased. It is not to say there were no issues along the way but our project manager, Justin, was very responsive. Every issue or request was addressed promptly and to my satisfaction and with a pleasant attitude.

Kyle was great, very responsive, and managed expectations well. I would certainly call upon them again if the need arises.

Would highly recommend using RVA Restoration for any home needs that you have. They were incredibly professional, on time, and went above and beyond. Not only did they transform our closet from the wire shelving to a built in dream, they also came in quickly & professionally to treat mold in the bathroom a few short weeks later. We have hired several contractors to do quite a bit of work over the years. These guys are, hands down, the best. They are reliable, professional, skilled, and all around nice people. McKinley, our estimator, is one of the most honest and respectful guys we’ve ever met. He really sold the company for us. Our contractor team, Joe and Francisco, were a dream to work with. They listened to what we wanted and made sure we were satisfied with every aspect of the work before leaving each day. They take pride in their work and it shows. The owners went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We love our new kitchen and can’t wait to have them back to do the rest of the house.

A tree limb fell on my roof and poked a hole in it. RVA sent someone out ASAP, and had the roof repaired in no time.

The team at RVA Restoration was incredibly friendly and professional when we came home to a wet basement. They made me feel calm and in control of an overwhelming and stressful situation.

Chris was extremely thorough and knowledgeable when he gave us the quote and worked with us when we decided to do some of the work (moving furniture out of the space ourselves) to save costs.

Brandon and Tucker did the demolition work and were friendly, quick and thorough. They did a fantastic job cleaning up after themselves too--removing dry wall is obviously a dusty experience but they kept it mostly confined to the workspace.

Good morning, I wanted to send a shoutout specifically regarding Chris Hill. When he arrived at my home yesterday, it was total chaos. From me having to assist a nearly unconscious HVAC tech (I'm a newly former ER nurse) who was installing a new unit in my attic to distracting my almost 2 & 5 year old from wreaking havoc while I was performing emergency treatment on said tech and let's not forget our power had JUST been restored (what a mess), he just rolled with it. He was calm and understanding. He didn't have to entertain my little boys while I took care of the gentleman with heat exhaustion, but
he did (then all the other technicians started having the same symptoms). He didn't have to tell me anecdotes about similar experiences to make me feel better about our current circumstances, but he did. Our interaction was brief but the impact he made speaks volumes. My almost 5 year old even asked if Chris would be returning today (he was sad when I said no). Besides being
an exceptional human, he represented your company well. Chris, thank you for being a momentary calm in our storm :)

Recommend 100%. Home renovations and repairs can be emotional, and stressful for homeowners. This crew was on time, insanely personable, polite, and helpful. They answered questions with utmost integrity. I would highly recommend this company and their crew.

The way this company handles their customers is the absulite worst. They have people show up unannounced, they are rude, and crass. I would never ever use this company for anything ever. STAY AWAY FROM USING THEM AT ALL COST. you will regret getting involved with them, they will be nothing. It a headache.

RVA restorations fixed issues I had from another contractor when I had storm damage to my house. They have done a fantastic job so far, and have worked with my wife and I through the whole Covid-19 deal. I can't say enough nice things about their employees, or their company.

We had a washing machine overflow and run all night. When I woke up I wasn't sure who to call or what to do as we had just built and moved into the house 3 months prior. I called RVA Restoration and there were 2 crews there within an hour (on a Saturday morning). The quickly set up everything to dry out the moisture as best they could. We ended up having to have the hard wood replaced and when they were done our floors looked better than when we first moved in. I put all of my trust in Kyle and Mike and their crews and they were very efficient and very professional throughout the entire process. They really took all of my family's worries away and made the process super easy for us. God forbid we have another incident, but if we did, the very first phone call would be to RVA Restoration. They truly are the best.

I had a leak from my laundry room that damaged a good portion of my downstairs. RVA got Mckinley out to my house within 2 days to look it over. I got my estimate back quickly and he also talked to my insurance adjuster. Never hesitated to respond to my emails or answer my calls.
My demo guys - Chase and his team did a great job working efficiently to tear up my floors and clean up after themselves. They answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. So far I am pretty pleased with everyone I’ve had to talk to and work with on this project. Hopefully it will be the same for the actual work to fix everything!

I recently sold a house in need of some mitigation work done to the crawlspace that came up on the home inspection. I called RVA restoration and they came out very quickly and took care of the problem and did a excellent job. Would highly recommend.

RVA Restoration really came through for us when redoing our kitchen and laundry room after we had water damage. It seemed a long process at first but we really appreciate the end result. I was torn on whether to give them 2 or 3 starts, but I ultimately chose three because the work was good when it was finished, and there are people in the company that want to do good. My entire experience with this company was kind of long and disorganized, so I'm giving just the highlights.

It started okay when I called them and had the guy come out initially. When he left, he said it would be a couple days before I get the estimate. When I didn't get it, I called a week later and apparently that guy left in kind of a hurry and closed my case because it was a smaller project. When I got that straightened out, they came out and dried things pretty quickly. A couple days later, I got a call from someone sounding genuinely concerned that I wasn't informed that it would be about a month before they could come out, and he offered me my money back. I got the impression that they should have mentioned this before I signed the initial contract. I decided to continue with them since things were moving already. After that, they sent me another contract, for some reason, and the numbers were wrong. I called and had that fixed, and they sent a project manager out. He actually helped speed things up, which was awesome. When they sent me the final bill, they tried to charge me too much. It was a simple mistake that was fixed easily, but it just reinforced the feeling that left hand isn't talking to the right at this company. In total, it took about two months to get everything set, I had to call them for things they were late on several times, I had to get my bill fixed twice, and the repair only took a day.

As I mentioned, there are people who work here that want to do great work, and the work was done well, but dealing with them was kind of a pain.

As a side note, the repair was originally scheduled for the day after Thanksgiving, but I had to reschedule it last minute on Thanksgiving day. They did handle this well, and I have to give them props for that.

The techs gave us a clear cut answer to what our issue was and provided clear direction on what we needed to do in order to fix our issue. RVA Restoration is a great company! I had them complete some remediation work on my crawlspace prior to selling my home. The entire experience was positive: the initial call, the inspection process so they could properly quote the work, the explanation of the quote, communication of when the work would be complete, and the progress reports from the crew while they were remediating were all great. Every employee is focused on customer service and that shows in everything they do. I highly recommend this company for any of your needs! I’ve recommended them to 2 family members who have also had work done on their homes, and they both had similar experiences to mine.

Our dishwasher leaked between the dishwasher and the wall. All of the water went under our kitchen flooring making it necessary to remove the cabinets and replace the subflooring. We worked directly with Ryan Bradshaw and Kyle Jernigan who were very helpful and personable. They understood the inconvenience of having a kitchen torn up and did their best to minimize it while still making sure everything was done correctly. They worked around our schedule and even worked around our 2 dogs. Throughout the process there were no surprises or hidden costs. Hopefully we won't need to, but if needed, we'll use RVA Restoration again.

The absolute best company to use. Always helpful, understanding, and they care about the people above anything else.

RVA Restoration was excellent to work with from the water mitigation side all the way through the rebuild. I can't say enough about the professionalism from Thomas Burright and Kyle Jernigan, but I must say everyone with whom we interacted was courteous, professional, and timely. Thomas was on the mitigation side and Kyle was on the rebuild side. Through the mitigation, Thomas kept us in the loop and was responsive to our needs. Once that was completed and the rebuild began, Kyle was outstanding to work with throughout the process. He was very professional, clean, timely, and incredibly responsive to our needs. His attention to detail and putting the customer first says a lot about this company. I highly recommend RVA Restoration, and if you have a choice, ask for Thomas and Kyle - they'll get you straight!

We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with RVA restoration. From scheduling to job completion, it was a professional team effort!
Our ceiling repair and painting was completed ahead of schedule and we couldn't tell anyone had been in our home except for the beautiful ceiling where a hole once was.

RVA Restoration did an excellent job constructing a covered deck at our house. Subsequent to that work, they helped take care of an unfortunate washing machine leak. Their service was timely and professional. We would definitely recommend them.

RVA Restoration was very quick to respond, and they came in with the heavy duty dryers, etc. After the drying process was complete, they told us the "rebuild" would contact us by the end of the week to set up a date/time. That weekend there were storms with lots of flooding, so when I didn't get a call back at the first of the week, I just assumed they were really busy with all the local flooding. However, 3 weeks went by-no call or contact at all. When I called, he told me there must have been some "miscommunication", and would have someone call me. Another 3 days went by, and I again called. When they finally called me back, it was going to be a few weeks before they could send someone-and we were looking at no rebuild until at least mid-July. This water damage was in the beginning of May. Also, they way they pulled up the flooring was an issue-every contractor we had come out complained about the way they tore it up.

I contacted RVA Restoration about having a major renovation started on my house. We spoke with a very nice and professional young man, McKinley Stuart who took the time to explain all of the measurements and explained in depth what costs would be associated with this renovation. Not only did McKinley take the time to explain different levels of quality on materials that could be used, he also informed us on ways to save on this renovation. Ryan Bradshaw was the project manager on this project and met with us weekly to ensure that this renovation was going smoothly and in a timely manner. RVA's team were very professional, neat and courteous. I would highly recommend RVA Restoration to anyone. They stand by their word.

I was looking forward to having several projects completed in my home by RVA Restoration including the first project which included fixing a brick shed. Called the company and someone named Mckinley came out on a Wednesday to assess the work needed to fix the shed and also took measurements. McKinley stated that workers could start the project on that Friday. However, no one never called or showed up on Friday. I called McKinley a few times leaving him messages that many went unanswered. I was finally able to speak with him and he stated that he was out in the field and would check the status of my project and call me back. McKinley never called back. Several days were wasted because of the lack of follow-up by Mckinley. Hopefully this is not the norm. However, this experience did not leave a good impression. It would have been nice and professional if Mckinley would have stated that the company couldn't do the work or wasn't interested as not to waste each others time.

During the first of the many rain storms that pelted central VA in the summer of 2018, I had a roof leak that saturated my insulation and created a water spot on the ceiling.

I called RVA Restoration, who came out the next morning with a free assessor to estimate the damage and determine whether or not I needed mold and mildew remediation (I didn't). The repair work was completed less than 2 days later, and when the initial work didn't solve the problem, they sent their tech back out to repair the roof with a different method free of charge.

Fast forward to the middle of July, when I received a second leak of exactly the same nature *in a different location.* (Turns out my roofer royally screwed up.) I called RVA Restoration again, and my case manager (Ryan) worked with me in the middle of the most rainy week we've had all season to find a 2 hour window of time to repair the leak. Their tech explained exactly what was wrong, and he told me of an easy preventative measure to try in the future.

We haven't had any problems with either leak since then. I'd recommend these guys to anyone!

The guys at RVA Restoration recently helped me with a siding repair that resulted from a builder oversight. The management team was in constant communication with me and the two repair guys were professional and got the job done quickly. Wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future!
