I only have nothing but the utmost respect for Russ. He is the most pleasant, kind, prompt, and knowledgeable contractor I know. We had issues with our roof, sliding, and bay windows. Russ discovered we had a hole in our roof, our bay windows trim had rotten, and sliding was warped. Not only did he explain the issues in detail, but he did an amazing job fixing these issues. The workers prompt, hardworking, and the clean up process was excellent. If your having any issues with your home. Just reach out to Russell Smith construction. He will not disappoint!

Russ and his team replaced our roof in 2023. Excellent, top-quality work done on-time and on-budget. And Russ is very communicative throughout the process... a huge plus in our book :-) My wife and I can recommend this gentleman without hesitation! We're in the process of having him come back and do more work for us.

In June 2024 we had a water leak in our upstairs bedroom. Our neighbor recommended Mr. Smith's construction company. Mr. Smith quickly responded to our call and provided a thorough assessment of the roof issue including pictures of the roof damage. The roof was replaced per the designated schedule date. The crew worked efficiently and thoroughy cleaned the area of roofing debris. The ceiling in the bedroom was repaired and painted. Mr. Smith was on-site to ensure work was completed in a thorough and professional manner.
We had several other projects that Mr. Smith and his professional crews completed. Mr Smith personally fixed our sagging deck with support beams and brackets. It is wonderful to have a perfectly flat
deck.
His crew painted our window shutters, front door, and accent borders of our patio.
Of particular note is the metal framework that was an overlay for our front door frame, garage door frame, and bay windows. This intricate and meticulously completed project has significantly improved the appearance of these areas and will need no further repainting, repair or replacement in the future.
Overall, we are very pleased with the work completed at our house. Mr. Smith and his crews were very professional throughout the process. Mr. Smith was onsite every day the crews were there. We would highly recommend their work.

This is an update for my review from four months ago. Russ installed a new roof and it looks fantastic. Job was done quickly and professionally. Next up is replacing the siding. Russ suggested adding 1/4" insulation under the new siding to reduce my utility bills. I would have never thought to do that, hats off for the recommendation. After the new siding goes on he will be replacing my gutters. Updates to follow.

We needed a whole house siding replacement due to hail damage. Russ made the entire process seamless from start to finish, we loved that he took note of what was important to us and got things done in our best interest. Despite the harsh weather conditions, the job was completed swiftly and we were kept updated through each step of the way. No hesitation with addressing any concern or questions we had along the way. We are elated with the final outcome and would highly recommend.

Russell Smith was a night in shining armor!
Right before I had found out I had breast cancer I had hired Mr.Smith to remodel my kitchen. He took the time to help me plan out a few awesome remodels. A new open kitchen, a bar room off the kitchen and a new family room. Once that was done he was very careful to demo my whole kitchen down to the studs! He even took all the bulk heads in the ceiling down and redirected all the plumbing and HVAC so that I could have ceiling height cabinets! It TOTALLY changed my kitchen!! When I was slated for double mastectomy surgery he said he would wait till I was better to proceed. I said HELL NO! I told him that while I’m recovering you are going to make the kitchen and bar area so I can be so happy! So while I recovered he did just that. He was so thoughtful and everyday when I would come down to see the progress he would stop and show me the updates. He also kept things super clean! He put all my appliances in another room which had plastic all around to keep the dust out. I could still get my food and see them work which help me recover faster! When it came time to replace some of the wood flooring he was able to fill in the areas like it was new! I had the best kitchen in Ashburn! None of my neighbors were able to get rid of their bulk heads! They were super impressed! So was I!! He installed all the cabinets and plumbing, dry wall, painting and every little detail of making it look top notch!

A few years later he redid my roof and sky lights, due to a hail storm. He took care of talking with my insurance people and help me select some new architectural grade shingles which made my house look amazing!

Then he painted the outside and repaired all the rotting wood around my windows.

A year later I decided to replace my windows. That was a chore but he help me navigate which ones to buy and then had them replaced. It’s very tricky and messy but he helped me every step of the way!
Then I had a leak in the basement and had to tear up the carpet and repaint the walls and baseboards replaced as well as some drywall.

He pretty much knows how to do anything!
He is a class A builder with an A+ attitude.
A diamond in the rough for sure!!❤️

What a professional fast responsive company, very polite, Great attention to detail really a master. Wow is all I can say very impressed and it didn’t break the bank not only did he come in under budget but had great ideas along the build and couldn’t even tell if they were working at my house so clean polite and efficient. I highly recommend this contractor for any remodeling no job is too small or too big he is a veteran in the field and really it shows.I was completely amazed and non stressed threw the entire remodel.

Russ was instrumental in negotiating with the insurance company resulting in a substantially higher settlement. He was really good at keeping me informed, returned my calls, and answered all my questions. He is about to put on a new roof and install new siding for me. Will update review upon completion.

Update-

The roof was replaced and looks fantastic. I also had the gutters replaced.

Next up was replacing the siding. Before the new siding went up Russ installed a water barrier (wasn't installed during the initial build) and added a 1/4ín insulation wrap. The new siding looks really good; on top of that I have piece of mind my home is protected from water and my utility bills are lower.

Following the roof and siding Russ repainted the interior of my home. I was amazed how fast they worked while providing a quality job.

Last, but not least, I am currently working with Russ on new kitchen countertops. So far so good!

Russ's crews were punctual, professional, and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves.
