The best call I've made, excellent work and will call again if I need anything done. Took care of some windows for me.
Was able to get ahold of a gentleman pretty quickly and communicated with him via text to get things ordered for a pane of glass to be replaced in our window. Unfortunately after 3 weeks of waiting, the wrong window was ordered. And the process started over. After a few weeks of not hearing anything I called in and he said that everything had just been delivered that day, so we scheduled the install. After install, I inspected the window to find a small amount of glass shards in the window sill. Looking at the window, there was (what to me feels like an excessive amount) silicone squeeze out all around the glass and it honestly just looks terrible. I feel like they could’ve cleaned up a little better (or cleaned the glass at all because there smudges aside from the excess silicone). Maybe im being too critical, but I’d expect more when I paying a lot for these services.
We had Rusco do warranty work for some windows with failed seals in our house. Let me clarify that we did not purchase the original windows through them, but found out that they cover/do the warranty work for the windows that were installed in our house. We were told that warranty work would take longer. We understood that and were very patient with them, but it was an excessively, ridiculously long time.
The first time we had them do warranty work, about 4 years ago, the installer banged and pounded so hard on the window frame or whatever he was banging and pounding on when he was replacing the window to make it to fit, (I guess?) he knocked the decorative slats in the half-moon window above it out of kilter-out of whack; so they were off centered. I called to let them know at the time, left at least 2 messages for the manager, Roger, and never heard a word back from him.
Recently, now over 3 years later, we had them do warranty work again. My husband told them we still expected that window to be replaced. It took them over 3 years to replace that half-moon window.
This is the second time we had them do warranty work. It took at least 3 or 4 months for the replacement glass to come in, and 2 of the replacement windows cracked when they installed them-in November-in ND. The installer assured us that they would be replaced again before winter got really cold. They were not. We're lucky we had a mild winter! We had to call them several more times over the winter, this spring, and this summer to ask when the cracked windows would be replaced. 8 months later was the correct answer we found out. About a year or more from the time they were at my home to measure for the replacements, wait for the order, first installation (cracked), wait again (8 months-get the runaround) and finally they are fixed.
They barely left the house after the recent install, and we received a bill for service and labor. Nothing itemized, just a flat fee. Is this for the half-moon window that was perfectly fine until their installer screwed it up with his aggressive install of the window below it? Is it sevice and labor for 2 windows that cracked, then service and labor again for replacing the 2 windows that cracked? I wanted these questions answered, and I didn't get that when I called. What I did get was a lot of hemming and hawing from Roger at first, then b.s., rudeness and an ultimatum. And the conversation went nowhere fast on both our ends.
When I called to question the bill, Roger, the manager, insisted that I didn't WANT to pay the bill, and it would come out of his own pocket if I didn't. I told him I never said that, but WHY should I have to pay this and why WOULD YOU expect a customer to pay this after all these issues and circumstances that were created by your installers and taking everything into consideration with all that happened, including the excessively long time this took-which we were extremely patient throughout. He had agreed earlier in the conversation that we were patient, and it was an excessively long time to wait.
Then he gave me this ultimatum: If you don't pay this bill, I'll go up and pay it myself, and I won't do your warranty work anymore, I don't have to cover your warranty, you can go to Norandex.
And then tried to tell me how nice he was and what a good person he really was. And then told me I was dramatic.
If you like being jerked around and blown off by a business with the feeling that they hope you give up and go elsewhere, this might be the place for your window replacement warranty work.
If you want new windows, save yourself the headaches of future warranty work and go somewhere else!
