I hired Rocking j Const. to convert my garage into a game room. They did a very nice job. It was a pleasure to work with Jason. Ramiro and Jorge did an excellent job tearing out my old shelving, install insulation, drywall, installed the windows, outside siding was done, textured the ceiling then did all the painting inside and out. They were very polite, was a pleasure!! A mini-split was installed and electrical work was done by other contactors.

I hired Rocking J to repair my kitchen and living room floors after some significant water damage that required an insurance claim. Before hiring them, working with the insurance adjuster had been a frustrating experience, but Christopher from Rocking J immediately stepped in and helped get the process moving smoothly.

Once the claim was settled, Jason took over managing the project and handled everything efficiently. He and his crew completed the repairs quickly, with excellent workmanship, and got us back to normal much faster than I expected. Throughout the entire project, Jason was easy to work with, kept me well-informed with regular updates, and addressed any concerns I had promptly and professionally. This review addresses their policy of charging $150 for an estimate on repairs, along with a minimum of $350 per repair. If you should select to use them, the initial $150 is deducted from the total price. My deceased husband and I used to own a roofing and construction business, so it kills me to have to pay for repairs, however, it's a necessary evil at this point. We never charged for an estimate. As soon as I hear a company charges for an estimate, I walk away. It shows a lack of confidence in their salesmanship. Estimates are part of the business, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but charging for a roofing estimate loses business.

I can't write a review on workmanship because I never used their services, but they are highly recommended by other workmanship reviews.

Great work from a great company! They completed a bathtub installation and fixed a wall we didnt expect to be damaged in 2 days. I cannot say enough great things about Judson Yoder and his crew- Patrick, Derek and Nathan! They were simply amazing with the construction of my 5 stall barn this summer. On time every morning, working hard all day, polite, detail oriented, fun to work with!! These young men know what they are doing, work well together and finished my barn in just 3 weeks!! I hired Rocking J for renovation of kitchen including new floors throughout most of first floor. They did a great job and saved me from having to deal with multiple subcontractors. They also saved me a lot of money by finding comparable flooring to the very expensive material I first selected. They always got back to me promptly with answers to any questions or concerns and were able to see many things in advance that I’m sure I would’ve missed until it was too late. The construction crew were very efficient replacing a large roof in just one day's time, cleaning up all yard areas with the utmost care, and we were able to remain at home going about our daily business. For those concerned about roofing project outlays, the final cost was true to the estimate and that was comforting at the end of such a big project. This company made what could have been an anxiety producing experience instead a smooth and seamless one. We were most happy with the results and how we could trust in this company to complete the project to the highest standards.

They replaced 2 roofs on 2 different houses, repaired a beam on our balcony & this time built a very large outdoor living area for us (patio poured, large pergola & flagstone fireplace). I will never do any construction project small or large with anyone else again. This group is perfection. Loved working with them and highly recommend.

We had Rocking J put siding on our house 4 years ago. the guys that did the work came to our house hung over, only worked a few hours a day. What was supposed to be a few days worth of work turned into 6 weeks. We had to have them come out multiple times to fix the work.
In October of this year I contacted Jay to fix the trim that had come off in a storm. I was told they don't do siding anymore and the warranty doesn't cover winds of 88+ mph (which we didn't have).
After a few email exchanges, they have not gotten back to me. We now have gone through insurance to have the trim replaced.
At the time of the original work, I gave them a break and did not plaster this all over social media. A mistake I won't make again when I've been taken.

In summer of 2017, I urgently needed a new roof after storm and wind damages. Rocking J. was prompt, they professionally took care of everything from start to finish. While at it, new gutters I did not have were installed. To this day, it was a job well done.

I absolutely love Jay and Cole! They were always attentive every time I needed something, had a question, or if something went differently than planned.
I bought a little fixer upper and they remodeled our guest and master bathrooms. The first demo guys, took my toilet which was brand new and supposed to go back in, they took my mirrors which was supposed to be cut and used for a full length mirror, and they took my light fixtures....for his new house he was building. I asked for them back but "supposedly" they got damaged in the storm. He ended up bringing my brand new toilet back but it was NASTY and all scratched up. I let him know that thing was NOT going back into my house. His wife then tried....they were fired. Jay immediately got another crew out here and they were great!

The plumbers were horrible. They put my guest plumbing in backwards, didn't secure my toilet, and the master leaked pretty bad a couple times. They were fired. The owner Brad came out and worked on it. He was ok. He is at the stage to where he doesn't really want to work anymore.
The glass people did a fantastic job on the cut and install!! Very impressed.
Jay needs to work on communication and a list for himself and to give to the clients a list of things to get and when. There were several times we were down to the wire in needing to get something so they could finish the job and move onto another area, but I had no clue what to get or where to go and we were scrambling big time.
Here's the thing. It is a remodel construction job. Things are gonna happen, mistakes are going to be made, but what matters is how it is taken care of and Jay did an AH MAZING job at being on top of it for the most part and when everything was finished I was EXCITED! It turned out beautifully!! I LOOOVE my bathrooms!

The ONLY thing I would absolutely, hands down NEVER use again is his interior decorator Leah. She is not good at listening to what the customer desires as far as style, she wasted my time looking at junk in some little downtown area, she had to come over my little place a couple times to measure and picture paint again. I waited FOREVER (about a month or so) for her contract, and I needed paint and other things for the bathrooms pretty quick so Jay and his crew could be done. In waiting for this contract, I told her several times I would pay her at once if we could just get going. Once I got the contract, I looked at it at work, had questions and then was busy till I got home that evening. She sent me an email saying that I needed to sign it asap so she could secure my spot as she has several people that she could fill my slot with. I told her I had been asking for this for a while now. She argued that I hadn't paid her for her time and I told her I would've but she didn't tell me how much and she didn't even send me a bill. I reiterated that I would've had no problem paying her $2800 so we could start.....needless to say we fired each other and I immediately found one I absolutely had a blast with and loved the paint and items she chose for the house!
Forgive me. I don't have pictures yet, but I will as soon as I get a chance! They really did an amazing job!!

I requested up front and repeatedly asked after the work was done for a itemized invoice showing me the materials used to perform the re-roof of my home. I have never received it. While this seems minor, it leads me to not trust their pricing. Very disappointed in the complete silence from them on my request. Of course, then I'm requested to review them on google. Well...here you go!

Not only did they have trouble responding, sending roofers days early, leaving holes in the decking and sharing communication with my insurance company but after they finished the roof, gutters and garage doors they never finished the rest of the work they were contracted to do. Then they held the roof warranty over my head until they could see if they could get more money from my insurance, AFTER I paid them. Jay, the owner himself apologized but then continued to not do the things he assured me would get done.. Kudos to anyone that got good service from this company because from what I can tell, they're the bottom of the barrel and I would never recommend them.

Roking J is a company with integrity and they do a great job as well.
They replaced our roof several years ago after a bad hail storm. A few years later another storm came through and damaged many roofs in our neighborhood. Of course we called them again. They came out and told us our roof was ok. Many companies will rip you off, but not Jay at Rocking J Construction. I highly recommend them.

We were in the process of selling a home, a pre check of the roof which showed hail damage. Jay and his team did an excellent job of working with the insurance company and getting the roof replaced in time to hold our closing date

We had our vinyl siding replaced with Hardie Board. The work was done fairly quickly considering it was right after Thanksgiving. The only thing we weren't too happy about was one of the workers showing up before 7am a couple of days and driving our dogs crazy. Otherwise, they did an excellent job and we are happy with the final look.

A storm pulled off a piece of siding and they came to Arlington to put it back on the house. I was impressed that they took such a small job a hour away When I get my roof replaced I'll be calling them.

Rocking J Construction is a great company to work with. Without them, I would not have known to ask for a second inspection of my roof with a different insurance adjuster. The first adjuster wanted to give us enough to cover our deductible plus about $150. The second adjuster saw the many issues that were actually there and said that we were covered for a brand new roof. Without Rocking J's expert knowledge and caring team, we would have not been able to have the insurance cover what actually needed to be covered.
Rocking J's team that worked on our roof were professional, on time and guided us through what exactly was going on with every step of the process of installing our new roof.
When I need more construction projects done, Rocking J Construction will be the only phone call I will need to make.

I have dealt with Rocking J Construction 2 times.. The first time I definitely need a new roof. They were on time and did a great job.
The second time was after a hail storm and instead of saying I need a new roof and charging me for it, they said mine was still in great shape.

I was referred. to Jay. Gravatt, the owner of Rocking J. Contruction through a. painting contractor who was doing excellent work on our property. They had apparently known each other for a period of years, Based on my trust in and regard for the painter AND his workmanship and ethical standards, I asked for the painter to refer me to a reputable roofer. That is how I met Jay.

When the insurance adjuster met me on the property, Jay was there, coaching me through the process with the adjuster, in what I considered a professional, knowledgeable manner. Then Jay began to help me understand his depth of knowledge of the materials he uses, which add protection to the roof at no additional cost. He also gave me options for an impact resistant roof shingle material (used in a simple trade-off manner) enabling me to have more durable roof shingle and a $433. per. year savings on my homeowners insurance because of its impact resistance rating.

Result - 1) Better Roof, 2) Decrease in homeowners insurance costs, and 3) Less. likelihood of roof replacement WHEN the next hail storm hits (that's pretty big money in your pocket), and 4) an overwhelmingly pleasant experience, both with Jay and his roofing crew. Happy customer!

I had my new roof put on in August 2018. My salesman, Michael, was very professional and answered all of my questions throughly. I will be using and recommending this company for any future roofing needs.

Rocking J replaced my roof in 2019 and it was a pleasure to work with them. They took care of everything and went above board to assure everything was protected. Clean up after the work was completed was fist class. Not one nail found after the crews left. I would use them again if i had any roofing needs. Kimberly knows her business!

We had one good fence replacement with Rocking J and then suggested them to our neighbors when the other side blew down in a storm. The fence, which really is my neighbors responsibility based on the fence posts and community agreement, blew over in a bad storm and we agreed to share the cost. Well, unknown to us, our neighbors decided to upgrade the type of fence post within their backyard and to move their gate, which we didn’t agree upon and the amount was included in our shareable costs. We asked Rocking J to come out again and let us know the estimate of the actual blown over portion so we could share the cost of the original damage only and not the neighbors additional fencing and other fencing preferences. We contacted them multiple times with no date to come out. As you can imagine, this has been an awkward issue. We would still like Rocking J to come out and clear this up with a simple cost estimate of the damaged original fence, but their communication is atrocious to say the least. 10 months ago.... still nothing.

The weather had blown all sorts of shingles off and 2 days later, another storm was forecast. I called Rocking J and explained our situation and they came over that afternoon and covered the open spots that kept our home dry that evening.
They came back and covered our entire roof with shingles that they recommended and a first class job was completed in record time.
