Road Trip Camping

We were looking for a pretty specific camper, and saw what we were looking for listed online with Road Trip Camping. Given that it would be an 8hr drive for us, we called a day before making the trip just to be sure they still had it and it wasn't already under contract. They told us it wasn't, and since we were the first to call and ask that they would hold onto it at least until we got there the next day, and give us first rights to buy it. When we got there, they showed us around and were very helpful, while giving us all the space we needed and not pressuring us at all. We did buy the camper, and when we came back the next weekend to pick it up we saw firsthand why they get so many great reviews about their amazing customer service. They prepped the camper, installed a brake controller, and had it ready to go when we arrived. They spent hours with us on the orientation, going over everything we needed to know and making sure we were completely prepared to drive it home. This was definitely the best buying experience have ever had. Thank you!

We cannot say enough good things about Warren Keely and the team at Roadtrip Camping. We bought a Nucamp 320 from Roadtrip Camping 4 years ago. Warren and team stand behind their product. We are currently on a roadtrip to Maine, and today our brake controller seized up. We were stuck until we called Warren. He took time to diagnose the problem and devise a solution. Warren and Bethany were super helpful in our purchase. We got all set up (trailer wdh installed) so we had an easy trip home for 3.5 hours. We've had a few questions since it is all new and they have been super responsive. I recommend them.

We had a bit of a wait to get some work done on Intech Terra Rover. I couldn’t be happier with the work. They put a lot of thought into adding electrical stuff so I wouldn’t have parasitic loses. The 120 outlets were so nicely placed in my storage area, recessed and clean. Love this place. Would love to get a dc to dc charger sometime in the future.

Absolutely incredible customer service!! We made a trip to VA from MT. Last minute had some warranty issues. Called and they fit us right into the schedule to get fixed. We were in a time crunch and they got it all done in time for our trip back to MT. Excellent work and very honest people.

We picked up our new Taxa Cricket in March 2022 from Road Trip Camping and can say nothing but wonderful things about all of our interactions with Warren and his staff. Bethany was great in helping us decide what features we wanted on our Cricket (we added a lithium battery and solar panels on the roof) and Mike's team did a great job installing them. But truly the best thing about buying from RTC is the support you get after the purchase. Warren spent hours with us on the day we picked it up explaining how things worked and allowed us to video him (has been so helpful in refreshing our memories). Any time we have issues or concerns he gets back right away with us to walk us thru what are mostly operator errors. We also had RTC install a dragonfly tarp specially built for the Cricket over the winter and are so pleased with the installation. We are so glad to have the RTC team available. We see postings on Facebook from new TAXA owners who purchased from other locations asking for help and are amazed to realize some dealers just hand off the keys and walk away after the sale.

We are so thankful we purchased our InTech Terra from Road Trip Camping. From the first phone calls inquiring about the camper and their services through the purchase process, picking it up and our first warranty issue, it is clear taking care of their customers is a priority! Bethany took the time to answer every question we had about InTech and the camper and Warren spent at least 2 hours going over every system in the camper upon pick up. We took our camper to them yesterday to have some minor warranty work done and were able to wait while Warren fixed it, answered several questions and we were able to be back on the road within a few hours. They have an awesome team there and we would not purchase a camper anywhere else!

We can’t say enough about Road Trip Camping. We bought our T@b 400 about a year ago. Warren was amazing and generous with his time orienting us to all the features and systems. While we’ve had some warranty issues, Mike and Warren have been amazing at dealing with each and every item - whether small/cosmetic or significant.

What a great place to buy from. We came from Pennsylvania and would do it again in a heartbeat. The sale was straightforward and not pushy. The service is truly exceptional. With all the supply chain issues our camper had a couple of defects. RTC fixed every one of them at no cost to us. One of them was a cost to RTC and they are pursuing reimbursement from the manufacturer. At every opportunity RTC has gone out of its way to make sure we have the right camper and that it works as expected. Thank you Warren and team! If we ever upgrade, we're coming back to you.

I will sing the praises of RTC to anyone that will listen. Warren, Bethany, Lynn, and the team at the shop took such great care of me from the start of my camper research, all the way through to ultimately, when Warren waved goodbye as I left RTC with my new T@b 400. It might seem cliche, but they care and it shows. I think we need to start an annual festival for customers that have proudly become part of the RTC family! Who's in?

Just want to do a major shoutout to Mike and the Road Trip Camping team. Mike walked me through the critical details of putting our Cricket to bed for the winter to avoid expensive, annoying damage to plumbing equipment. (You ARE doing that before everything freezes, right?)

Mike is a consummate technical support professional. I had a long list of concerns and he knocked them all down. He's clear, on task, efficient, and fun. He didn't even laugh when I told him about a couple of stupid moves on my part. <grin> When do you find that over the phone these days? He also taught me more about the Cricket's equipment that's super useful.

As an owner, and I suppose this applies to most gear we own, don't be afraid to open it up to take care of what's behind the facade. Open the access panels and get at the components at risk of freezing deep in the plumbing. (I'm talking about that water filter on the inlet side of the water pump). A manual phillips screwdriver, a bit in a cordless drill, and a little patience and you're in.

My experience with Bethany, Warren, and Mike has all been first rate. When an outfit cares about a customer after the sale, you know you've found a good one. Highly recommended.

We have been very happy with the whole process from our initial visit to service after the sale. Very Professional, detail oriented, Customer focused team. Everyone associated with our purchase and service has been very responsive and patient. We even had a power issue (circuit breaker tripped in the trailer) and Warren was kind enough to work with me to completely resolve the issue remotely. We can't recommend this team more highly!

We purchased an inTech Sol Horizon from Road Trip Camping, and it was an outstanding experience from the beginning to the end. Warren provides a no pressure sales environment, which is refreshing and appealing; he is most interested in getting you a camper to meet your needs, not just make a sale. When we picked up our camper, Warren gave a wonderful orientation that was a combination of introduction to the various systems mixed with practical camping suggestions. I was referred to Road Trip Camping summer of 2021 due to their trusted reputation as a small, focused dealer. I was not disappointed! The RTC team - from sales to customizations to pick up and orientation - was wonderful. Everyone at this small dedicated company helped to make our choice, purchase and use of a 2021 Overland Cricket a wonderful experience. Bethany and Warren helped us with initial choices and deciding what modifications and upgrades would be beneficial in our case. Each system was designed with "belts and suspenders" as Warren puts it and is not only functional but beautifully done - every detail of it. On pick up day Warren gave us a very detailed checkout and we learned a lot of useful things that come only with experience. We recorded the session and still find it a useful reference. During this time Thomas came up with a clever way to hook up to our new truck that has a hybrid engine. His box is not only out of the way and painted to match the area - he even realized that we might want to remove the topper at some point and made it easy to do so. Mike has helped us with maintenance issues and further enhancements, and also very experienced, takes care and is easy to work with. We are very happy with the mods and they have made life in the Cricket so sweet! It is a great experience to work with folks who sell (without any pressure tactics) what they enjoy, and have the expertise and desire to help you customize and continue enjoying the camper. They managed to be upbeat even during the challenges associated with covid related high demand and supply chain issues.

Road trip camping in a gem in our backyard. There customer service is top notch! We have purchased from this dealership back in 2020 and have been very satisfied with not only the product received, but the service we received after the sale that has been first class all the way. They have a great crew working for them, with follow up and warranty details. We continue our relationship with this business because of there loyalty to there clientele.

Performed an outstanding installation of a lithium battery system in my RV. Owner took the time to spec out the system and personally supervised the installation. Tech's work was of factory quality-- extremely professional and well done. Service Manager provided timely and detailed updates on the progress of the work. Overall, this company is great to do business with as all individuals exhibited meticulous attention to detail and customer focus. What a variety of choices they have! They have alternative power available for additional purchase as well. Truly one stop shopping! Small RV dealer that cares about what they offer and how they offer it. Several month process due to supply and demand features of the industry right now, but it was highlighted with above average communication and no haggle, no pressure honest competitive pricing. The team is very knowledgeable about the RV lines they offer and potential modifications. Feels like they will be by your side post sale whether you are a newbie or a seasoned RVer.

I have not taken delivery of my Sol Horizon, but I'm about two weeks from doing so. I wanted to share my experience thus far. I've been working with Bethany, and she has been patient, professional, and easy to work with.
She sets 'real' expectations, which I appreciate. Too many dealers try to sell you on what could happen, but she understands that in this business, every customer can share their experience, and if too many of them have a bad experience, it will have an impact on her sales and the business.

Warren and Thomas were extremely helpful tailoring our purchase of camper trailer to our unique needs. Never felt they were upselling like some other places we researched. They kept our needs at the forefront of the process!! Greatful and will highly recommend them to anyone who wants top notch customer service!

We just ordered our trailer from them and have yet to take receipt of it, but I will tell you I already love this place. Warren spent an hour with us, answering every question my information-addicted-self had and he clearly knew his stuff. How often have you been to a car dealer and knew more than the man who is paid to sell you cars? Here this is not the case! Warren knows what he sells and makes decisions on what he carries based on his research and I appreciate that.

My wife and I left to get lunch and then head home to talk about the details. So we told Warren we would be in touch soon with a decision. Over lunch we couldn't figure out why we wouldn't move on the trailer, so we turned around and put a deposit on an Intech Sol Horizon Rover, 30 minutes later. We had been looking for over a year, and have been to over a half dozen RV dealers.

We found the same trailer for $7000 more at another local dealer either expecting buyers to haggle or to luck out on an uninformed purchaser. We appreciated Warren's no bull pricing and way of doing business. I can say that Warren and Road Trip Camping gave us the confidence we were looking for to pull the trigger on our new trailer.

If you are looking for for the antithesis of RV dealers then look no further. There is no hard sell just informed, friendly information. They only stock products that they truly believe in, which reduces the need for them to bs the customer. Oh and their prices were significantly lower than the big RV dealers. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

After much research and contemplation decided to literally "move up" from 40 years of tent camping. Came across Road Trip Camping web site and they actually had both our final 2 choices (In Tech Sol Dawn and Nu Camp 320 CS) on the lot so we decided to drive the 200 miles. They only sell trailers from independent companies that are well built and innovative. Best decision ever! Warren was very knowledgeable and laid back. We opted for Sol Dawn and he guided us thru custom modifications (solar, lithium batteries/invertor/etc). Very clean professional installation, base price was 2,00 less then my closest local dealer. Warren's passion for the tech/solar end was really evident during our orientation. Bethany and Michael were the other 2 individuals that assisted us during the entire process. They both bought campers from Warren and wound up working there. I think that alone speaks volumes about the type of business environment at Road Trip.

Overall I would say this was the most pleasurable major purchasing experience of my life time. We could not be happier with our decision and experience

We absolutely love Road Trip Camping! If you want honest, upfront and hard workers come here for all of your small RV needs. Every staff member goes out of their way to address any question and/or issue quickly. Basically, everyone goes above and beyond to insure all of your needs, as a customer, are met. As a small family owned business their is no other way to be. We will always choose Warren, the owner, and his outstanding staff over the rest!

We could not be more pleased. Best price we found in 200+miles and absolutely the only place to do custom mods for boondocking if you don't have the time/know how to do it yourself (and even if you do I think you'd be hard-pressed to do it as professionally as they did!)

Highly recommend! Excellent customer service, selection, prices, and modification options- their team is full service from start to finish. Road Trip Camping installed a 320-watt solar panel system, with two expion360 lithium batteries (240 amp hours) along with a Xantrex 2000-watt pure sine wave inverter/charger - integrated to all the existing outlets. Also installed a Victron temperature sensor to kill lithium battery charging if it gets near 0degC (currently set at 2degC for a buffer), a batwing awning, and a propane tank mount to our Intech Flyer Explore. Did a great job of explaining all the new gear clearly and succinctly for future use.

Road Trip Camping is the place to go to get your camper. Warren and his team are amazing and very knowledgable. We asked for multiple customizations to our Taxa Cricket and Warren and his team delivered. Based on great recommendations and reviews we drove over 1500 miles to purchase from Road Trip Camping and it was beyond worth the drive. Warren ensured our trailer was 100% ready to go and even repaired some minor issues the manufacturer missed prior to our arrival. For our first camper purchase we were a bit nervous to immediately take it on the road for a test but Warren spent the exact amount of time we needed during our walkthrough to calm any nerves we had and made the trip back memorable.

My review and experience about Road Trip Camping is long over due (6 mo) for a number of reasons. Declining health of my 98 yo father, life in general and of course COVID. But as they say....Better Late Than Never! After reading reviews and such of what was out there in the small camper market, I settled on a 2020 Intech Pursue camper. Checking the RV dealerships around the Virginia Beach (Hampton Roads) area I was coming up empty. Seems they sell as soon as they arrive. Going to the Internet I contacted several out of the way dealerships more than 200 miles from home. I wanted to see a Pursue camper up close and Road Trip Camping had one. Numerous emails to Bethany were responded to within a the day or less answering my questions. Due to the pandemic, like so many in the work force....she was working from home. It was decided that I would make the 184 mile trip to Orange and take a look. I was very impressed with the Intech line of campers of which they had three, but the three on the lot were not equipped to my needs. I made the decision then and there to go ahead and special order my camper. This was in early March 2020 and just three weeks after that, Intech manufacturing (plant) shut down for several weeks. My camper was delayed about 4 weeks longer than expected, but I did get that welcomed email finally saying that it had arrived at Road Trip Camping. Due to a delivery backlog at Road Trip Camping, I picked it up a week later which was the second week of June 2020. I was quite pleased of what I saw when I walked up to it. It had been cleaned, serviced and checked over. Warren explained everything/ features about it answering all my questions and when I had a hitch issue on my Ford Escape SUV, Warren jumped right in to rectify it. I surely didn’t want to have to leave and come back. All in all, the day went exceptionally well including the almost four hour drive back to Virginia Beach. Would I do it all over again??? Absolutely!!! Everybody shops prices and in doing so, I know I got the best deal possible based on what other RV lots were offering even taking into account the two round trips to Orange totaling more than (735 miles) 14 hrs of driving. The downside of all this is my 2020 Intech Pursue has been sitting Going Nowhere since I brought it home in June. The pandemic and my fathers declining health has a lot to do with that. I am however still looking for that first outing come Spring. The service and professionalism I experienced at Road Trip Camping is second to none! Great staff with very competitive pricing. GREAT EXPERIENCE!!

After years of tent camping, and most recently rooftop tent camping, we decided it was time to look at micro campers. After doing months of research and searching the internet, we were fortunate to find our perfect match at Road Trip Camping, a Nucamp T@B 320 U. We called to see if the T@B was available and spoke with Bethany; she said it was. We began asking her all the questions we could think of and she was able to answer most of them. She said she would have Warren get back with us on the few she could not answer. The next day, Warren called to answer our questions, we signed the paper work and began the process of planning a delivery date. We would need to drive 1,400 miles to pick up our T@B.

We are newbies when it comes to trailer camping. Warren walked us through the entire process, from towing the camper to accessories. We had questions about battery upgrades, solar generators, solar systems and how all of this would be integrated. Warren spent a lot of time providing information and answering our questions, then left it up to us to choose which upgrades we would have installed. We decided to upgrade to a lithium ion battery, 2-100 watt solar panels, a battery monitor, electronic brake controller and a hard-wired surge protector.

Our pickup date was finalized and we set out for Orange, VA. When we arrived, our T@B, with upgrades installed, was ready and looked GREAT! Warren spent the next 5 hours introducing us to our new T@B. Going over each component and explaining how each of our new accessories worked. He set up our Bluetooth-enabled app for our battery monitor, calibrated our brake controller, installed a ball and hitch and a last minute propane fuel gauge. After a quick lesson on backing up with a trailer, we were off.

We spent the next 7 days camping our way home. During our drive home, one question came up, so we called Warren (on a Sunday). He took the time to answer our question and we were, once again, on our way. The T@B performed flawlessly. We could not be happier with our decision to purchase our T@B, but our best decision was to drive the 1,400 miles from Texas and purchase it from Road Trip Camping.

Warren is honest, hardworking (especially during these times) and takes the time to ensure you know your new camper. I would not hesitate to recommend purchasing a camper from Road Trip Camping, even if you have to drive a distance to pick it up.

Thanks Warren for all the assistance and information. We will likely be calling for a refresher, as we experienced a bit of information “overload”.

Best dealer around. I've been dealing with them for over a year now, both from the purchase to several recalls on my RV. They handled every aspect of the process seamlessly. I have another dealer about 30 minutes from my house but I have driven the 2.5 hours to Road Trip Camping several times because of the quality of work and customer service.

We really enjoyed working with Warren and Bethany at Road Trip Camping. They have a great shop with a bunch of options for small and midsized campers. Never felt any pressure during looking at the camper we wanted and they worked great with us and made everything easy since we were from out of state.

We stumbled across the Road Trip Camping website about 2 months ago while pondering the 'possibility' of MAYBE looking into buying a small camper in an effort to still be able to travel with relative piece-of-mind in the age of COVID. Being tent-campers, we saw this as an easy transition for us to make.

We decided we would make a trip there the next day to look at them, so I called to make sure that was OK, only to find out there was a 2 week waiting list just to come look. Buying campers is a BOOMING business during COVID, but we waited our 2 weeks, and when we had our appointment we chose one already on their lot, and 6 weeks later we took possession. Again, I'm convinced that it took this long due to the 'COVID effect'. Warren and Bethany were fantastic, and when you get their attention you have it UNDIVIDED. Slowness in responses are just a by-product of the long hours they are working and how thin they are being spread during this time of COVID. I have no doubt that pre-COVID they were A+ in Customer Service as so many other reviews have stated.

I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a small camper, just realize that as long as we are in COVID they are running as fast as they can to keep up, and purchasing will take longer than it would in normal times. Warren is a wealth of knowledge, and Bethany was always helpful when I spoke to her.

Only issue I've had with the camper thus far was a speaker not working, but I found a very flaky wire crimp, so it very well may have worked before we picked it up and just vibrated loose on the trip home....an easy solder job can fix that here at home. Other than that we are VERY happy with our purchase!

This is a small company that carries a unique line-up of small campers. As first-time buyers of a pull-behind trailer, Warren was especially careful in explaining the capabilities and limitations of our tow vehicle. He guided us toward models that would both meet our needs and be safe to carry on our cross-country trip. He explained the role of brake controllers and stabilizers and gave us much "food for thought" in making a decision. Bethany was equally good at responding to questions and organized in walking us through the process. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

Excellent company. We’re from the Netherlands and at the end of June we bought (out of state) a brand new nucamp T@G boondock lite at road trip camping in Orange, Virginia. The information Warren provided to us was awesome. He took all the time to explain everything about the T@G itself as well as general camping with a trailer. Also the adjustment for the electric brake controller was clearly explained by himself. No hurry at all. He gave us a real good feeling that customer service is really important for this dealer. Because it’s a new trailer you’ll need a certificate of origin to tag and title it in Maryland. He would send it to us as soon as the payment was successful. This is a small company that sells really cool equipment that you don't see anywhere else. RTC is not anything like an RV sales company that tries to sell you everything under the sun. We purchased a Taxa Mantis recently from Warren and had a great experience. From our first phone call, it was clear he understood the products very well and always gave us clear, accurate and helpful information. Warren was never pushy or gave us a sales pitch on anything which was very refreshing. When it came time to pick up the unit, Warren set aside the whole day for training and explained all the mechanical and electrical systems of the camper, as well as some towing tips and tricks and other great advice. It was a great experience and we would definitely go back.

We drove over 1,000 miles to purchase our Taxa Cricket from Warren at Road Trip Camping. Warren and his staff were an absolute pleasure to work with from first contact, to our purchase and with customer service after we brought it home. He did a number of customizations to our trailer prior to pick-up and every one was completed at a very high level. Warren is extremely knowledgeable about all of his trailers (something I can't say about most RV dealers) and is honest and up-front answering all of our questions. This could have been quite an ordeal purchasing a camper from a dealer so far away, but the process could not have gone any smoother. On the day we arrived to pick up our trailer he spent half of the day giving us an orientation on everything about it. I have also been impressed with his after purchase customer support even from such a long distance away and feel completely comfortable asking questions or advice for anything that may come up.

My husband and I had been thinking about buying a small camper for several years. We couldn’t decide on a pop-up or an R-pod until we came across an ad for the A-liner. My husband found Road Trip Camping online and we made arrangements to take a trip up to where they are located in Orange, VA - we live in Chesapeake, VA.

We were warmly welcomed by Bethany on a very cold and rainy January Saturday morning. She walked with us through the rain to show us several different A-liner campers, and thoroughly explained the differences between the various models. When we saw the red “35th Anniversary” model of the A-liner Classic we had to have it.

The day we picked up our camper we received a very thorough hands on tutorial from Leif - about 1 1/2 hours. He covered the electrical and water hookups and the water drains - ways to prevent problems and damage to the water heater, water tank, and electrical system, and the maintenance of these systems. How to raise and lower the roof, walls and dormers - and there is a particular order that this is done. He also covered the propane tanks, battery, refrigerator, and the external access to our camper’s internal storage areas. He gave us several great suggestions as to what to store where in those storage areas so that it was readily available during the set up process.

Then Warren took over and patiently walked us through the finance and insurance paperwork and the registration of the camper with the DMV. We left with a permanent plate - no follow up trip to the DMV.

My husband and I were so amazed and pleased with our experience with Road Trip Camping. We will highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a camper. Thank you Bethany, Leif and Warren!!!

We bought a Taxa Cricket from Warren in August and could not have possibly made a better choice in either product or dealer. The Cricket is bullet-proof and incredibly well designed. Warren added a custom slide-out fridge, solar panels, awning and lithium battery, and the installation was impeccable. It is a perfect size for my wife and I and our very large dog. We immediately took it on a 2-1/2 week long trip to Newfoundland where it proved to be great in warm and cold weather. Running heat, lights, water pump and fridge the battery never went below 80% even when disconnected from the car for three days in fairly cloudy weather. We can't wait for our next adventure
