As a previously employee, had a great time here, just decided to go back to school. Daniel and Kelly could not be nicer to work for. I know all of the project managers and employees do their best everyday.

As an investor and property manager of 17 rental units (all of which I own) across Harrisonburg, I am always looking for companies to work with..because let's be honest- things always break! Which is to be expected, because that's part of running a business and part of life in general. I am a loyal gal, willing to swing all of my business to those businesses who are professional, reliable, efficient, and affordable. I like to find a company and stick with that company- establish a good rapport and working relationship. Well one of my tenants called me about a month ago, saying the A/C was not working. I knew that Riddleberger Brothers worked on a lot of the same units that surrounded this one, so I gave them a call. They were able to come out and fix the problem right away. So for this, they deserve 5 stars. I asked Todd if he would be willing to do an annual maintenance check on my other units that haven't been done yet this year, because what he came out to fix could have been prevented if I had completed an annual maintenance on it ( so this was my fault). Todd said he could, and I texted him the addresses. He told me he would call me in the next day or two to set up appointments. I waited for his call for 5 days, then texted him, asking him to call me. No response. I waited a day and left a voicemail. No response. A few days later, I called and left another voicemail. No response. Riddleberger Brothers have lost my business due to the unprofessional communication. I could have brought them a lot of business and money and I was willing to! However, I cannot work with a company that has insufficenet communication. I try to see all sides objectively. Maybe they were too busy. I do believe I should have received a call back, explaining perhaps they cannot take on new units at the moment. Instead, I waited a couple weeks waiting on this company because they told me they could take care of all the units, no problem. Because of waiting, I'm now dealing with another unit that is not cooling properly- another company came out right away when I called them, and they deemed it to be low refrigerant...something that could have been prevented if I had a maintenance check a few weeks ago. I was trying to give Riddleberger Brothers all my business, and I waited as long as I could. I definitely do not try to bash people on the internet or be a difficult person to deal with, but I do know our society now runs on user reviews. When you are running a business, communication is key! I definitely would have used this company again, but they just would not respond to me..and I gave ample chances! That's why I am giving 3 stars- I hope this is helpful for someone.

As subcontractor, this so-called electrician put a light switch on the ceiling inside of a kitchen cabinet. He told me that the only other option was no switch at all. Before he started the job, the light switch, which worked fine, was down on the wall right above the countertop in a 3 switch plate, but he was not able to leave it there. Makes no sense to me at all. The only way to reach the light switch is to climb on a ladder or use a long handled tool to reach it, while trying not to break anything in the cabinet.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
