Red Wing Plumbing and Heating

Red wing plumbing came out last August-October for a large remodel project I had going. They did fantastic work always came out when I called them. I was told it was going to cost around 20k. We had an Architect draw up plans so I figured this would be fairly accurate considering it was set in stone. I helped out when I could jackhammering, shoveling and removing concrete chunks. All said and done the invoice came out to a little over 24k, that was the reason for 3 stars. Other than the price they did a great job in a timely manner.

We built a new home in Red Wing and wanted to keep everything local. Hiring Red Wing Plumbing and heating was one big mess! They installed our in floor heating tubing and all plumbing rough in including our drain amd vent for our kitchen island sink but failed to run water to it! Now we have a column on our island cause they had to run water down from the ceiling due to that screw up! Our water softener has never worked and now since it's a year after installation they want $140 an hour to come out n figure out why their installed equipment won't work! Took them almost 6 months to properly vent our plumbing up and through our roof. The service in their office was always aggressive and rude to put it lightly. Asked for service and way ignored or pushed back on more than one occasion. All and all it was a horrible experience working with them! And they need to make it right

Our water heater started to leak in the middle of the night. We called Red Wing Plumbing and Heating right when they opened at 7am and they were able to come to our house right away that morning. The gentleman that came to our house was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. He was quick and was able to fix the issue. I would definitely recommend this company for any plumbing and heating needs.

Gary(I think that was his name) did an excellent job fixing our sum pump and clearing our backed up sewer line.

We had a leaky camper toilet right before we set to leave. Gary got creative and fixed our problem so we could go on Vacation. Highly recommend!!

I would highly recommend Red Wing Plumbing and Heating! We have used their services many times over the past few years at our local business and rental properties and they are always quick to take care of whatever issue we may have. Recently we had to replace a toilet within our business and they were there within a day to diagnose the problem and back the next day with a new toilet and had it installed quickly. Amazing customer service, thank you!

Glen, one of their plumbers, was fantastic. He fixed a leak in our pipe, and also helped us figure out what was wrong with our water heater.

Glen discovered that the water heater has a malfunctioning component but instead of ordering the part, which was expensive and could have taken who knows how long, they got us a brand new water heater through our home warranty!

The very next day Glen was back with the brand new water heater, and got it installed and running in no time!

Buyer beware. In 2020, I paid for a new water heater to get installed at my home and upgraded by adding a power vent. Red Wing Plumbing installed a tank that was manufactured in 2009. Now, when trying to sell my home, the inspector notes that it is past its functional age. Buyer is concerned. Reached out to Red Wing Plumbing, asked for help or a warranty to at least put buyer's mind at ease and they were unwilling to do anything about it. Double check the age and quality of the parts that they are using ahead of time as they do not stand behind their work, and they are not very interested in finding a solution to help their customers.

Saved me 2500.00 on having to do a tub and surround tear out of my tub to fix the tub plumbing. 300.00 and even fixed their own mistake no charge. They also installed my faucet kit no questions asked. Will be calling them again

Garrett's truck was outside my neighbor's house, and i just asked him his advice about my chronically clogged shower drain. He told me what he thought. And within 15 mins he stopped over and said "let me have a look." He unclogged it within 10 mins. Done. He cleaned up even the mess I had made, and was very courteous. We squared up and he was more than fair. He had just the right tool for the job, gave me advice on how to keep the drain unclogged (using enzyme), and was just an all around great guy. I highly recommend Garrett and Red Wing Plumbing and Heating.

I called and they sent someone out within an hour to unclog my drain in the kitchen....Gary did a fantastic job and the price was very reasonable!! I would use them on future projects as well!!

They were quick to schedule me which was nice but I think it’s outrageous they want to charge me their hourly labor rate for the drive from the last job to site to me then keep the time clock running while writing up an invoice and taking the payment!! I was charged an extra $62 because of that non sense, due to that I wouldn’t refer them to anyone else.

I had a drain pipe leaking in my basement. Office staff and the plumber were great to work with. Great quality work done quickly and cleanly with good value too. Will call them every time I have a plumbing and heating need.

The guy that came in didn’t even try to fix the problem. We left to go get the camera and did not let us see what was on it. Then he said he could come in on Monday to try to fix it but said to leave the basement door open so he can just go in without letting me know. All he came for was to charge the 150$ for nothing . He legit did not care to help.

Red Wing plumbing is the best in town and is always available to meet our needs. We have called them for heater and plumbing issues and they always fix it in a short time. We have also purchased their water purification system and it is great. If you want great customer service, prices and more, I recommend Red Wing Plumbing!

Glenn was AMAZING! I highly recommend him! He installed new piping for our kitchen sink and reinstalled the garbage disposal. 5 STARS!

I had a clogged kitchen sink and then a broken pipe. Red Wing plumbing sent someone out on Friday and fixed the pipe really fast, and seemed to have fixed the clog. Unfortunately that evening, it clogged up again. Monday morning, I called again and they were able to come right back out and fix the issue. Great company, fast and friendly service. I highly recommend them and you will get great service!

Red Wing Plumbing worked on my basement remodel so I called them in June to fix my water heater that was not working. They told me on the phone that they schedule when they are in my area and have an hour minimum charge. They arrived and fixed my issue in less than 30 minutes, but charged me two hours. When I was asked why I was being charged for two hours, they said they charged for travel time - despite never being told this on the scheduling call. I paid for two hours but called the office the next day to inquire and was told they don't usually charge for travel time, so would look into and get back to me. I have never heard back. As a small business owner, I expect transparency in pricing and fixing errors when made. They should have been clear there was a charge for travel time - if they actually charge which remains unclear - and should have called me back to discuss the additional one hour charge, which was not warranted.

We had some plumbing issues at our new home and Red Wing Plumbing did an excellent job of helping us take care of them not only quickly but cheaply. Am very thankful for the referral to Red Wing Plumbing and Heating and will definitey be passing on that referral!

I first would like to say that being someone who’s worked in customer service over 20 years, this is very hard to write. My husband and I are easy people to please and understand situations can happen. However, we are extremely unsatisfied with the experience as well as the lack of follow up with our situation.
We had a leak from our shower and, being we just purchased the property (with a home warranty), we wanted to have it looked at professionally. First off, Glenn (who I will say seemed very nice) showed up 45 min early. We normally don’t mind, but a call or some type of communication would have been nice since I was in the middle of feeding my 7 month old twin boys and waiting for my husband to come home. The gentleman’s response was, “it’s Friday and wanted to get done early,” which I found a little unprofessional to say. I then left when my husband came home to take my boys to get their flu shot and my husband had the rest of the experience with Glenn.
Glenn seemed to have no idea what he was doing. My husband mentioned he thought it could be just the drain, but again, wanted a professional opinion. Before even looking at that, Glenn went into my boys’ room and proceeded to make a big hole in the wall. He didn’t even using a tape measure, but from his elbow to finger (which was off) and had to make a 2nd large hole. Glenn had my husband running up and down the whole time and when my husband was sitting on the couch for a moment having some chips, Glenn came down and said “comfortable? Can I get you a drink too?” Now, we’re all about joking around and being friendly, but that is an extremely rude comment to say to someone in their own home (mind you while they’ve been helping nonstop). At the end, when my husband mentioned the 2 holes in our kid’s room, Glenn said “being that it’s through a warranty, we’re not really supposed to be putting holes in walls, so if they ask, I’m just going to say you did it.” What?!? That’s the part that set us over the top. I cannot believe that was even said.
We contacted Red Wing and spoke to a woman (which we explained everything) and have yet to get a call back, which is going on 2 weeks. So now I’m sitting with 2 holes in my kids room, my husband was right and it ended up being the drain, and have had no communication from this company (an apology would have been at least nice). I just can’t believe how unprofessional this company is and we will never do business with them again and would advise everyone to steer clear. I will be looking at contacting the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General as this is not sitting right with us.

The tech arrived on time, and had my plumbing issues resolved in 15 minutes. I highly recommend them, and will call them for all my future plumbing services.

Very friendly and honest. They didn’t want to charge over time if they didn’t have to and had us wait through the weekend if we wanted to to help save us money. Easily came around my lunch schedule so I could be home to explain the issue - in and out in 15 min. We will be calling again for future needs. Thanks guys!
