Troy is a highly experienced general contractor that has a rare combination breadth and depth of skills, good value, honesty, and great communication. I have been extremely impressed with all the work Real Renovations has completed on our house including plumbing, electrical, sheetrock, carpentry, and tile. Troy has tackled some truly perplexing and often latent issues left behind by amateur house builders. We are lucky to have come across Troy when we did to help us out of a daunting and messy situation. Here is a list of the work Real Renovations has completed for us and the work underway.

Completed Foundation Repair: Addressing cracked unlevel concrete floor. Sealed the foundation, poured self-leveling cement, sanded, and installed LVP flooring and new trim.

Completed Kitchen Upgrades: laid herring bone backsplash, installed new plumbing and sink, rebuilt vent ductwork and installed new fan, repaired sheetrock, repaired cabinetry with carpentry work, and upgraded out of code electrical and outlets.

Completed Bathroom Remodel: total gut, reconfigured and remodel of bathroom, built entirely new subfloor, overhauled the plumbing and water systems with upgrades, upgraded the electrical and outlets to code, installed new vent duct and new vent fan not existing before, created shiplap walls on 2 walls, install all new sheetrock for remaining walls and painted wall and ceiling, ripped out tub and created a new tiled walk in shower with inset shelves and new glass doors. Built a new utility closet, installed LVP flooring, installed new toilet and vanity, rerouted heating duct to bathroom.

Completed Carpentry: repaired skewed door and closet frames throughout house.

Underway Upstairs Bathroom: total gut, installing level wooden subfloor, installing new tiled walk-in shower with inset shelves and bench, unconventional plumping to accommodate modern configuration of new shower hardware. Installing ship lap walls, new sheetrock, installing new storage closet doors, barn door, lighting fixtures, toilet, hardware, vent fan and wooden shelves. Installing new tiled floors. Rewiring switches and outlets.

After my elderly sister passed away, we needed to sell her house and contracted Troy to renovate the house into a home for a new family. We told him about things we knew had to be addressed. He identified other issues necessary to comply with municipal codes for safety, improved function, comfort and completed the renovations in a timely manner and within a limited budget.
He replaced the large recreational room flooring and corrected a previously persistent problem causing water damage
He coordinated with other contractors for necessary roofing replacement, boiler/furnace updates, landscaping to improve curb appeal and our real estate agent to optimize the budget and time line.
Troy maintained professional open communications about all aspects of this project with all the workers and our family. He made budget friendly but esthetically appealing recommendations for carpet, tile and paint.
He was able to eliminate the old cigarette smoke smell!
He updated 3 bathrooms, living, dining rooms, kitchen, 4 bedrooms and the basement recreation room in a month.
The house sold in 3 days and we accepted an offer for $40K over asking price!
