Quality First Home Improvement

Same experience as one of the other recent reviews. My wife informed me that they insisted on having me here for the quote because “it’s a lot of information”. I’m pretty confident my wife is intelligent enough to understand and relay the info.
I also notice in the reviews that they do not attempt to reply or clarify the negative reviews. They only comment on the positive reviews.
No thanks, we’ll pursue someone else.

We are very pleased with the patio door and 2 windows installed by Quality First. All interactions with company staff were pleasant and professional. work was completed within the specified time frame and installers did the work quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption to our routine. I would highly recommend quality first to anyone who needs a service they provide.

If only you could give zero stars . . . These guys were cold calling on my street and stopping at houses with older roofs. I said sure to a quote since we were getting quotes to replace it this year and I wouldn't mind another estimate. The guy asks if I own the home with anyone else, I say my husband, and he asks if he is home. It was 2PM and I said he was at work. Well they can come by when he is home the guy says and I state that would not be good for me, which makes him visibly uncomfortable. He makes the appointment for me and leaves. Ten minutes later I get a call from his "manager" (aka the guy driving the car that is dropping them at houses) to confirm my appointment. He also asks if my husband can be there. I say no and if it will be a problem we can cancel. He says no and sends out the guy the next day. He shows up and first thing is whether my husband is home. I say as I told the guys already it is just me and if that is a problem you can go. No, no he might as well measure and look before he speaks to my husband . . . we start to walk around and he is following me saying why he would prefer my husband to be available for the quote. I stopped him and said he could go because I'm was done and pointed out that two years ago they stopped by to talk to my husband and never demanded to have me there. How strange the wife doesn't need to be home.
So, if you like being talked down to and told only your husband can only make decisions for you, or you are a man who is misogynistic, these guys might be for you. If you have integrity and self respect, or if your husband is deployed or just not home at convenient times, then you will have to find someone else to roof your house. Darn, I know.

Had 8 windows installed in Oct 2024. People measured 3x and still the guys that came to install had to make “major adjustments to make them fit right.” One window has 4” of vinyl trim making it impossible to be able to open from that side and it is one of my mainly used windows. 1). 2 guys came (one was borrowed from another company and then another came to make the job faster. 2). They had to cut into the old aluminum frames and hammer the heck out of them. Whacking for hours with tremendous violent pounding in the house. I had asked during the measuring and when the guys came if they could work one room at a time so I could protect my cats and they ripped
Out all the windows at the same time and left doors open! That stressed me out as I didn’t want my cats jumping up to the window sills to relax just for no window to be there and fall out a 2nd story level. So I was stressed the whole time!! Still today, when I feel stressed, I try to pinpoint the main source of trauma and I still feel those hours of violent whacking in different rooms of my house was the most traumatic to my soul.
3). Although they cleaned up big scraps, they left splintered pieces of vinyl and aluminum all over the bathroom that had 3 windows redone, scraps flew all over and I stepped on sharp pieces inside and outside my house all over the roof, the patio, the grass, my girls’s bedroom and my bathroom I found pieces for up to three months. And somewhere very sharp. The windows I got double pane are still cold so they don’t really block out the cold like was promised with new windows. And So I will not continue with this company for any repairs in the future.

I have waited to make this review because I really hate to leave a bad review for a business but I have given them plenty of time to do the right thing. We paid over $20,000 for a patio cover and I will say it is not QUALITY! First they brought the supplies that sat in my backyard for over 2 months before I called and asked when they would install it? I’m usually very understanding if there is any issue with not having enough staff, but no one ever even called to communicate! Not even once! Now that it is installed, it leaks and we have called and sent videos of the leaks! And nothing back! I am so frustrated with the lack of quality for customer service. I am very upset that we spent this much money on a product that is not good quality! I would NOT recommend this company at all!

I had to get a roof on my house in 30 days or lose my home owners insurance. Steve Rowe was able to get a new gaf roof within the deadline so I could keep my insurance. The construction quality is excellent. The crews were very professional. I would not hesitate to tag Steve for my next need and do recommend him.

HORRIBLE!! They never showed up to their appointment with us and then started calling me every single day and even left a voicemail calling me the B word. I called and spoke to someone and told them about the whole situation and I still get phone calls almost every single day. If I pick up, they just hang up on me. I’ve asked them to take my number off of the call list. This is harassment and so unprofessional. (The “spam risk” in the photos is them. I have called the number back before)

Did a half ass job… no actually they caused more damage on what I needed fixed. Haven’t responded to us when we reached out. We’re now out 12k! Ridiculous! They do a good job at making it seem like they did something, but then problems start arising soon after. Had another guy look at it and he pointed out that they didn’t really do anything. Pretty sure these guys pocket the money for materials or something, that’s what it really seems like is happening.

Last May I had a new roof put up and it looked great. Come the winter and I notice that water is leaking into my garage. Then water spots showed up throughout various places in my home. I talked to Steve Rowe and he told me “it’s not like we just had a weather storm” and something along the lines of “new roofs do that”. I’ve had someone
come out and try to fix it but he said that my roof didn’t look new at all and it needed to be completely redone. I lost contact with him (he tried to hit on me) and he never showed back up. I called corporate and they told me
to fill out a service form, which I did. Then no
response, I called again and they got
in touch with someone in the Reno area. Someone came out and just dumped supplies onto my roof for a week. I even called again to see why nobody’s came out. I called Bill but no answer. With the winter coming I am
very concerned for the state of my house, I paid so much for a new roof and it should be to its best potential. Very disappointed with Quality First and will not be a returning customer.
Edit: I am considering legal action as well since the company are basically thieves. I gave Steve a check for 6.8k to start the process of painting my house, after the roof stuff I had requested my money back. Steve said “Ok” but never actually went through with it. I’ve requested the money multiple
times now and I still haven’t seen a penny.
I had someone come out and look at my roof and he told me it’s the WORST roof installation he’s ever seen. It’s been over 10 visits of trying to fix the roof and nothing has improved.

Now that I have given it a year into my new windows, I feel that now is the appropriate time to give a review. I was able to examine the work they did on my home replacing 5 of my windows. Upon looking over their work, I saw that I had large cracks around the trim that needed caulking very badly. I discussed this with the sales person hoping that this would be taken care of. It wasn't. I spent my weekend peeling, priming and caulking everything to be sealed from water. I'm just glad I was able to look and fix everything myself. I just thought that was a hack of a job when I'm paying over $8000.00 for 5 little windows. I think quality homes can do better in the future.

Way over priced compared to other people. Then they sub out to a sub sub contractor. Reps from quality came and looked at the job and said one part was hazardous. That they would come back and fix in a couple weeks. I called sorry I forgot be there in a couple days. I called again be there Monday. For the first time they called me guess what. Don't have enough people be there in a couple days.
If you use these people don't pay them anything until they have done everything they told you they are going to do. Being they charge at least 30% more than anyone else. I won't be recommending them to anyone.

Bob came out to our new home and was very professional throughout the inspection process. Very informative and great at explaining. Highly recommend.

I just had my windows replaced. They came in weeks earlier than expected. Contractors showed up on time and did the best job I could expect. Would definitely recommend.

So happy I made the decision to get a new roof with these guys. Work was done in less than a week, complete just before the start of Summer. Still have to run some coolers but their quality materials have drastically reduced this summers energy bill by average $ 100 per month. Contract, loan and appointment were all seamless. Only reason not giving 5 stars is I found a little garbage in my gutters when I went up to inspect the new roof im sure was just mistakenly left behind. Even still, if I have another major home improvement project, definately checking in with these guys first.

Dalton came by with a door hanger and I agreed to a quote, Timothy Jayne came by today for the quote and he was super nice, courteous and professional.

The installer guys were awesome! Quick, answered any question we had and we didn’t have to leave the building… we were going to, but they were so throughly neat while doing the job we really didn’t have to leave! And we got every window ( 11) done in no time!!!! Thanks guys!!!
AND… they were fans of my nephews Netflix show!!! lol… always nice to meet the fans!!!

Mike and Zack are by the best of the best in installs. Kevin was awesome at explaining everything to us and the time of measurements. And our salesman was also very informative. I'd recommend them 100 times over. Thanks you guys

Very unprofessional and disrespectful. Your company came to my door unsolicited, and since we happen to be in the market for a roof, I agreed and scheduled an appointment for a quote. When it was time for the appointment, the individual asked if my husband was home and would not follow through with gathering information for the quote because he informed me that I “wouldn’t be able to relay the information about the product well” and “there will be questions after.” Had the scheduler informed me that I would “need my husband home” I would not have scheduled the appointment. I know about metal vs plastic solatubes, skylights, valleys, and the square footage of my roof, but he didn’t stay long enough to learn what I know. I have never heard anyone ask my husband to make sure that his wife is home in order to fulfill a quote. I appreciate valuing your product, but it is not helpful to have a great product if you devalue your customer. We will not be rescheduling.

Mike & Vince just installed our much anticipated storm door. They were courteous and professional. Quality First has been a pleasure to deal with, while the storm door was expensive you get what you pay for and we should never have to replace it.

I had just gotten home from working two jobs (one over night and one morning shift) and was changing my clothes, these guys came into my front yard and started talking to my child and had him come get me. Tried to sell me windows. Pushy about it, then said “I can tell you’re not all there.”
Bro.
I was even polite.

Vince and Mack were both very professional, respectful and did an amazing job and answered all our questions and explained the process of the work done. Definitely highly recommend.

We purchased new windows with Quality First. The price was less than the other window places we checked. The quality of the windows are superb. Mike Morton and Zack Olvera were professional and courteous installers. My husband and I are extremely satisfied with our purchase through Quality First.

Instillation went great - I am not happy with the way the WHITE window frame stands out against my dark house. The sales staff really pushed me away from any outside color than white.

Mike showed up for our window replacements on time and was very professional. The job was more difficult than expected, but was still completed the same day. Looks great and we finally have windows that function well in our living room. These were the most important since they are what you see when you walk up to our home.

Mike M. Was the lead installer for our windows. They look beautiful! Installation was fast and clean. We are very happy with the outcome! Thank you Quality First Home Improvement!

Shout out to Jimmy Smith and Zach and the rest of the crew (sorry i did not get everyone's name) who poured the patio in my back yard yesterday. It looks absolutely spectacular.
Special thanks to Jimmy for coming by the next day to remove the forms and to make sure all the debris from the build was removed.

Asking a quote for a gutter, someone went to our house and measure then price it for $3,200 then said they have a new years promo so it went down to $2,700. I call 3 other big gutter company then went to our house to check and gave me a price of $1,300, $1,200 then $1,700. This company will rip you off

We have used quality first home improvement twice now. They have replaced both windows and a patio door for us and we’ve had a great experience working with them. They have been quick and easy to communicate with quoted fair prices for a great quality product. We will continue to use them for our future home-improvement needs.

Albert & Ivan Put up some gutters and installed some wood. The job looked very professional when they were done. They made sure that everything was cleaned up before leaving They both were very courteous and explained what they did. I was impressed by both of them with their knowledge and expertise in doing the job The job looked good at the time When it started to rain the water was leaking between the boards that were put up and the gutters. A former employee before leaving the company said everything should be taken down and redone, I have contacted Coordinator Bill Haeger who said he would come out and see what materials would be needed. He never showed up or had the courtesy to call to say he couldn't make it. I have left a phone message he never returned my call I was told the company stands behind its work Up to this point it has yet to do that. If you are thinking about using this company, I would have second thought based on my experience They do the job then forget about you if there is an issue. I had to hire another company to come out a fix what was done wrong and correct the problems Quality First Home Improvement is a company that doesn’t stand behind their warranties. I suggest you avoid using this company for your projects

Quality First did an excellent job replacing our old roof. It looks great!
We had a minor problem after some heavy winds and they quickly repaired the roof.

We had the most wonderful experiment with our window installer. Mike and his A team was so professional . Respectful and did a great job installing my house windows, sliding doors.

The crew we had did a great job on our windows and sliding doors. Always keeping the area clean and paying close attention to the details. Highly recommended!

Very good company the sales representative was very nice the installers were awesome did a great job took me around to look at everything color match perfect and they cleaned up.

They try to pressure you into a deal they want to sit and talk you ear off for an 1+1/2 hour Sign now because the deal won't last, They told me they did solar and roofing that's what I was interested in they only do roofing piss poor way of doing business

They showed up few weeks earlier than planned which was awesome! Did a beautiful respectful job and then showed us all the ins and outs of our new windows and sliding doors! Will do the rest of the house with them for sure!

Kevin and his team were amazing. Great work and attention to detail. My new patio cover is amazing. Even my dogs loved them! I would definitely call them again for future projects.

Our installer Mike Morton worked his but off and put in 16 windows in 2 days. He did not cut on quality or professionalism

Mike and Zach did an excellent job on my window replacements. They were professional, kind, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The work looks great and they cleaned up and vacuumed before they left. I will definitely go back to quality first when I replace the downstairs windows.

Vince came up and put in three new windows and I am a lot more satisfied with the new windows than the windows I got from renew by anderson which are a complete rip off

Kevin and his team were very professional planning and installing my patio cover. They submitted all plans and permit applications to the City and finished the job in four days. Looking forward to using them to install the doors, windows and walls for a fully enclosed sunroom I can use year round.

From Start to Finish everyone was amazing.Brandon who showed us the great value of the windows to Mike Morton our installer they took great care of us with a great value on over 32 windows and 2 French doors. I recommend them all...

The installation of my gutters was great as well. The installers were professional and took extra steps to make sure the install was clean!

Mike Morton and Zack Olvera were extremely attractive to are needs in regards to dealing with are special needs little guy. Very friendly. We will be repeating customers and we want these two gentlemen in the future.

Technician came out, did a quote. When asked for a detailed quote to be emailed along with supporting docs. He failed....I then called into dispatch to have them get on him, got an email without details or decs. FAILURE.....called in again. Got pushed to the Regional Manager who now needs to me to drop everything and meet ANOTHER person for a new quote. Absolute garbage service

Love our new windows and front door! Had to call for a small issue with front door. Vince was on time and had it fixed in no time.

Salesman was very professional and answered my questions. Haven't had the work done yet, but I am looking forward to the completion.

Wade Prather and Kevin Kluck came and installed 5 large windows in my home. They were fast and professional. I worked from home all day and particpate in a lot of Teams meetings and they worked around me. The windows are beautiful. I even managed to stuck my finger in the wet caulk and they fixed it for me without a beat. They explained how to use the wondpws and answered all of my questions. I couldn't recommend quality first and especially Wade and Kevin enough and will be using their services for anything moving forward.

Quality First did some work on my home and I am beyond pleased by the job. The installers were on time and polite. They cleaned up the entire job site and left no debris. I will be using Quality First Home Improvement for any and all future projects.

I had a patio cover installed in my back yard by Quality First. Kevin was my installer. Kevin was professional and very personable. He walked me through the install and was always on time. I love my new patio cover.

We were blown away when we got a quote for $41,000 for 788sq ft of broom finish concrete. Nothing fancy. We have since got several other quotes that have ranged between $10,000-$14,000, which is what I was expecting. The estimator that came by was great up until the point he knew he wasn’t getting the sale. It was like a switch was flipped and his attitude and demeanor changed instantly. I’ve been in the trades for almost 10 years now and understand that quality work comes with a price and that construction prices have skyrocketed in the last several years but to be 3.5 - 4 times higher than several other quotes is crazy. Definitely recommend getting other estimates.

So we had an appointment with Blake today and he was very informal about everything and never left any details out, which was pretty amazing. He really gave us the wow factor. We cannot wait to do business with you guys in the future ❤️

I scheduled an appointment with this company to get a quote for a simple concrete driveway extension. The sales guy showed up 30 minutes late, no apology or even acknowledgment from him that he was late. He proceeded to quote me 30 thousand dollars, absolutely ridiculous. I ended up getting another quote from an actual concrete contractor for less than 1/4 of that price. Cherry on top was this sales guy called me out of the blue months later to ask if I was still interested. I told him no and he straight up hung up on me. Maybe this company actually does great work, I don’t know, but their sales team needs to get their stuff together.

Blake was very professional & knowledgeable about the products that he was representing. He answered all of our questions and and demonstrated the window product line effectively. We appreciated his thoroughness and attention to detail. We haven't made up our mind yet about using his company but we definitely are considering using them due to Blake.

It was pure luck that we had a door hanger ad from Quality First Home Improvement when we needed a roof replacement due to a surprise leak. A customer service rep answered our call immediately and promised that someone would call us back in a couple of minutes. Lo and behold, not only did we get a return call but David Skulason, a sales rep was at the door to help us resolve the problem.

David was very knowledgeable about the roof services that we needed. He was very thorough, patient and was able to answer all of our questions and concerns. He was very persuasive yet methodical in his quote that we felt comfortable signing the contract that same night. The project was completed within the timeline, as promised.

Jose and Juan did an excellent job that even our neighbors were impressed with the outcome.

Brian Uhrik was friendly and professional. Had my windows replaced and absolutely love them. Installers were professional, showed up on time, and were quick at installing the windows. Would mos def recommend and use this company again.

After speaking with the gentleman & going everything he was very professional & in the future we will be using this company.

David was prompt, friendly yet professional, and relaxed which makes conversation easy. He presents the product line well, also zeroing in on our needs. We are very confident in the company’s ability to do the renovation. We look forward to our new windows.

We couldn’t be happier that we choose Quality First Home to build our patio cover for our newly built home. Our rep Brian, was so personable, patient and thoroughly explained their product and the process and timeline to build our cover. Along the way if we had a question or concern, he immediately replied back to us. The cover looks fabulous and we couldn’t be happier! Everyone we dealt with in this company was professional and accommodating. Brian even personally stopped by after it was built to make sure we were happy. We highly recommend Quality First!!

Hired, and paid over $7000, for replacement windows for an upstairs bedroom. During installation on July 1, the installers dropped and broke one of the windows. The old window was already out, so they installed it with tape in the frame rather than glass, and told us they'd have a replacement out to us in 6-8 weeks. One of the other windows they installed is misaligned and won't lock, also promised to be fixed when the replacement comes in. Both windows are now hazards to my children (2nd story windows that don't lock/are tape instead of glass) and the tape is obviously terrible for insulation affecting my heating/cooling costs.

It's now been 19 weeks. We've called and left messages on 7/6, (was told new window would arrive in September), 9/8 (no response), 9/9 (no response), 9/12 (was told oops, we didn't order the window, we'll order today and it will be here October 12), 10/19 (no response), 10/25 (we'll look for the window and call you back...didn't call back), 10/3, 11/2 (no response). No one will give us any answers or return our calls. They took our money and ran, leaving us with a shattered, taped-up window through the hottest part of summer and now going into winter.

We've filed a complaint with the BBB (2 weeks ago, of course there has been zero response) and are now drafting our final demand letter, to be followed by suing them in small claims court to get our money back, so we can have another contractor come finish the job....this has been a nightmare, QUALITY IS NOT FIRST, DO NOT USE.

ProVia windows are beautiful though- just get them from a different contractor!

Edited to add: the company response to this review, that they would make sure I'm taken care of, was posted 6 days ago. They have not contacted me yet. Will update if they do.

After 6 times of missing work to be home for estimators to show up over several months, I ruled them unreliable and refused to work with them. Who's to say even if the estimate went well they'd even show up to do the work... too many no call no shows. Even told me the last time the boss himself was coming... still never showed up. I'm good. Did the job myself.

It took us over 6 months, 4 months after their latest completion date, to just get gutters installed. I understand COVID causing delays, but this was excessive. The staff that I contacted to inquire about the timeline was extremely rude to me, never gave a real answer, and very obviously just wanted to get me off the phone with her. At on point, the week before Christmas, she straight up lied to me and said they would be out the next day to install. It still took over 4 months after that point, for them to contract it out to another company that could be bothered. The project manager said they really don't prioritize "smaller" projects like gutters. I would recommend steering far away from these guys. If they don't value "smaller" customers, how can they say they care about quality?

The roof on our house was the the original from 1989 so we were in the market for a new one. Quality First was in the neighborhood doing some work and a representative came to our door informing us of their services. Afterwards my wife and I talked it over and called for an estimate. Their sales rep, Steve dropped by the house for a sales call. He was knowledgeable and friendly, explaining everything we needed to know. While the estimate was a little more than we were expecting, we decided to go with Quality First. Besides the prices on everything are going up and later after doing some checking around, their estimate was right in line with what I found elsewhere.
Jose and Ozzie showed up at the house to install the roof a few days later. The were on time, very diligent workers and seemed to go the extra mile to do the job right. They even used a big magnet to scour our yard for stray roofing nails so we wouldn't find them the hard way. They did a great job on our roof as it looks fantastic and we are very happy. Thanks.

We had 7 windows replaced about July 2020. Then in March 2021 one of the windows had one long crack. Called for a replacement. Because of Covid they were having a difficult time getting the glass. During this time I would call periodically and asked if they would give me an update. They did not give me updates. Continued calls and finally in the Fall on 2021 they came out with a replacement. As they put it in, the glass broke. I was told they would soon be back to replace my window. Called numerous times and still asked to be updated. No calls on being updated. Keep calling. Called a few days ago. They searched the warehouse and “Behold!” The glass is there. Did they bother to update me?! Finally someone comes out to replace it. Seems to be nice guy. Takes him Over 4 hours in two days to replace one window. DEFINITELY will not use them or endorse them. Such a lack of respect.

You are getting a one star review for leaving unsolicited trash on my porch. If I needed your service I would have come to you. Now that you have killed trees and left trash all over the neighborhood I will make sure to use a different company when the need arises

Additionally please let Don G. Know that he is fortunate I did not report him to the police for trespassing. Signs are posted yet he still decided to come on the property to leave trash on my porch.

Brain Uhrik has been very helpful with both design and making it possible to view prior work the company has completed . We are looking forward to Our complete project.

My appointment with Kurtis to discuss replacing my roof was one of the most informative and pleasant business encounters I've ever had! Kurtis was professional without being stiff or overriding, and won my respect and trust in less than 3 hours. His commitment to your company is admirable, and his personal honesty makes him convincing.
My financial limits may prevent me from contracting with Quality First, but I am a much wiser customer, thanks to Kurtis.

Got a new roof a few months back; they just installed my windows. Omg, I'm happier with the windows than the roof. Quiet, energy efficient!! Next project w/Quality First may be exterior paint/coating. Steve (my sales rep) knows his biz as well as the products!
