This chimney inspection could have been performed by one person instead of 2. This would help in keeping the cost down for the customer.

Pinckletink did a great job. Polite and very knowledgeable about my appliance. My pellet stove is running so much better now. It's a good feeling knowing that Pinckletink is looking out for my best. I will continue to do business with them. We'll worth the little extra expense knowing I am getting certified inspectors that go by the code and not just their opinion.

I was very pleased with professional work that was done with the inspection of my chimney and the sweep. There are a quick to respond to my request they showed up on time. They’re very thorough with the inspection report and the inspection. Everything in the house was left tidy they were friendly And personable. It was nice to work with a contractor who you felt was doing the job you expected or recommend them for anybody who needs chimney cleaning or inspection.

Benjamim Marking came in and inspected, then went to work cleaning. He shared his knowledge with us showing that there had actually been a chimney fire at some point.
He was very professional. Taking great care to insure the soot didn’t float away into the air, and vacuuming up everything that he pulled out of our VERY clogged chimney!!

I was very happy and satisfied with the work that Pinckletink Chimney Service completed at my home on Monday, October 14, 2024. They have been really great to work with!

Very knowledgeable and friendly crew for inspection and cleaning. The report was very thorough and received same day of inspection. The alert system of the approaching appointment was also nice and let you know ahead of time who was coming out.

The required $350 plus mileage to get a competing quote for chimney repair. This was more than I paid for a chimney cleaning, and this is just for them to look in it and write a quote. Ridiculous. Good business practice would have been to give a quote for the same work as the other company's estimate with the understanding that the other company may have missed something. Who can afford to pay $350+ for an estimate?

Edit: I think the company's response speaks for itself. I was able to get another service to come out to inspect and quote the job FOR FREE. They also don't act like their colleagues in the industry are idiots and treat their quotes as worthless. They are already scheduled to do the work in two weeks. I would highly recommend using a service beside Pinckletink.

Today we were visited by Hope and her assistant. They did an amazing job and before they left they went over with us a comprehensive list of the status of our large chimney. We couldn't be happier with Hope and her techs attention to detail and thorough inspection.

The service was fine and the folks are courteous. My only issue was the bill. I was quoted $528.00 to do the job, and they billed me $668.00 with no explanation of why. I would think if they were in that professional business of chimney work that they could come closer to the actual amount. I may not have had it done by them if I had known they were going to tack on another $140.00. I think that was a little extreme to pad the order like that. I hope they are not in the habit of doing that. I give good reviews when deserved, but this time not my bad. Thus, the reason for 3 stars.

Hope did a comprehensive inspection of our chimney and pointed out many problems that I didn’t know about. This is despite having had a home inspection and having had other companies previously sweep our chimneys. Hope is the first to tell me about potential problems with our chimney. I highly recommend this company.

Although I ultimately decided to go with a heat pump, I’m still glad I didn’t cancel because I really did learn a lot durning the inspection and sweep. I have more options now than I did before they came and they even gave me some pointers on how to approach fixing or roofing over my chimney.

After a year or so in a home we purchased we noticed the top of the cement chimney to our water boiler was damaged and pieces were coming off. We called several companies and masons including ones with signs all over our town saying to call them for chimney work. We sent them photos, tried to get quotes, were put on "lists" and literally no one even came out to take a look and see what would need to happen. This went on for 3 years. By the time we found and contacted Pinckletink, our chimney was obviously in bad shape and required a full demo and new chimney. They immediately scheduled an inspection - which came at a cost, but seeing as how no one else seemed to want to give us the time of day it ended up being well worth it. They recommended a class A (metal) to avoid a long wait for a mason and it ended up being cheaper than a brick or block chimney overall anyway. They understood our need and quickly got a quote together and scheduled a time to come out and do the work. The crew was nice, respectful, and happy to answer any questions we had as things progressed. They happened to drop a block and break part of the porch which they repaired themselves. They even fixed a part of the porch around the chimney that had a gap, rather than simply place the old board back in, so that it ended up fitting better than before. They ran into some setbacks on the final day putting up the chase around the metal stack and stayed into the night totalling a 13 hour work day to make sure things were properly sealed and the job was complete before leaving. All told, the final amount ended up being under what was originally quoted. They truly came to our rescue and we would recommend anyone to give them a call for chimney work.

Did a great job and probably saved us from burning the house down this year. Ended up having a horrible chimney that needs to be rebuilt. Glad we found out before we burnt down. Update. They have rebuilt one of the chimneys and did a great job. They even found an issue with my boiler even though it was installed only a year ago. It was repaired at no cost. Couldn't believe it. What a great experience. They're coming back next week to add another chimney to the house.

Pinckletink has done our annual chimney cleaning for over 10 years. They do an excellent job, and we have complete trust in them.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the inspection and chimney sweep I had scheduled was not able to happen on the day it was scheduled. They were able to fit me in the following day and showed up on time as promised. Once on site the pair that showed up divided and concurred the task at hand and did some in a professional, safe, and clean way. The report was available immediately following the completion of the service with photos, recommendations, etc. The inspection is not free while I stand behind the phrase that you get what you pay for. Sometimes free estimates are not what they're cracked up to be and things go missed. This approach is thorough and makes you feel great and justifies the estimate that you will receive afterwards to correct the recommended areas they found or observed during their inspection.

They provided me with two different estimates to give me options for repairs to be made. The estimates are extremely detailed and thorough. They were also very informative that what they found during the inspection is something that homeowners insurance will cover most of the time. Although I ran into a few roadblocks with my homeowners insurance, Pinkletink was able to coach me through different avenues, at which point, my homeowners insurance covered the majority of the estimated work listed.

Pinkletink is a true class act and worth every penny!

I moved forward with the recommended work and I could not be happier. The communication leading up to the work via email and text message with photos of the technicians arriving is world class. I knew exactly what to expect when they arrived and felt comfortable leaving them around and in my home while I was there or gone. They took the time to lay down drop cloths to ensure they didn't track anything in or out of my house on any of the surfaces. They were very pleasant and professional throughout the entire process.

They finished early on day one and had someone who was scheduled for a draft check on the second day come over to complete their portion on day one. It was nice to be ahead of schedule! Day 2 they spent most of the day on the room and utilized all necessary fall protection measures without having to engage any part of the structure for their fall protection. Being a safety professional it was great to see their focus on safety!

They completed the work on day two in the time that was allotted and I couldn't be happier. They provided me with an invoice at the completion of the work with the ability to pay right away or mail a check.
