We've had Peterson out for two smaller projects over the last year - once for some roof repair, then for gutter repair. Both times we had a problem we had no idea how to fix. Both times they put a solution in place that actually fixed the problem.

We were extremely pleased with Peterson Roofing and all their employees. They were prompt, worked hard, and left our home completely cleaned up on the outside. Their price was reasonable and they were very easy to deal with. We would highly recommend them to replace any roof.

Peterson Roofing did an excellent job on our roof! They replaced our shingles and installed a ridgeline vent quickly and efficiently. The team was professional, the work was high quality, and everything was completed on schedule. Highly recommend!

A neighbor noticed that 5 or 6 shingles had blown out in the wind. Two other repair companies came out and gave me quotes. One said he wont do for less than $1000 and then told me to call his friend who quoted $450 without even coming out. Another contractor said $613. But they never even bothered to climb the roof to examine the damage. I noticed that I had Peterson Roofing on my phone contacts and just called them. I was blown away when technician John climbed the roof, then came back down, went to the van and got a hammer and roof nails and tacked the shingles down so that there would not be any leaks. The estimate they gave me was much lower than what the other contractors had given. I asked them to also repair the chimney flashing which of course cost more since it had to be replaced. Francisco came out and did the repair work. He worked for 5 hours straight without a break. It was hard work. I felt so bad and grateful that I heated up a tamale for him! He cleaned up the yard after him. I have not had such an excellent experience with any Chicago contractor! Usually Chicago area contractors overcharge and under-deliver or to put it another way, you cannot trust them. I highly recommend Peterson Roofing, especially John and Francisco.

I called three companies out to give me an estimate for my roof. Only one company stood out, Peterson roofing. They were the only ones that actually got up on the roof and check it out completely, taking measurements and pics and even telling me that I will most definitely need at least 6 sheets of plywood replaced. When they came out to do the roof the crew was extremely friendly and professional. The lead for the crew explained to me what was being done and why sheets had to be replaced. After they finished the job my yard was spotless and looked like they hadn’t even been there. The roof looks amazing, and the quote was spot on to finished bill minus a broken rafter
That needed fixing. I highly recommend this fine company to replace your roof should you need it done.

They made professional suggestions to improve the outcome. Every staff member from then office to people on the roof were professional and easy to communicate with. And we were lucky to get it done before the winter weather hit.

We recently had to replace a 7 year old roof (which was shoddily done) and chose Peterson as we know several folks who had hired them. Not only was everyone satisfied, but two had difficulties (one minor, one major) which were expeditiously corrected. They really went the extra mile on detail work for our 150 yr old home that has a rather unique roof with multiple steep pitches and flat sections. They have a great crew and skilled craftsmen. I'm very happy with choosing Peterson to replace my 20 year old roof. I got 4 bids. I'm a professional handyman and inspected their workmanship after they left. I was very satisfied with everything that they did. They replaced all of my flashing, and added more roof vents and soffit vents to improve on the air circulation in my attic. This was a very important improvement. Their price was very fair, but their workmanship and communication was far better than my previous roofer. I would gladly recommend them.

This company is OUTSTANDING. They gave me several options and sent pictures as well. My flat roof was done 2023 on the hottest day and the roofers were amazing, professional and everything was cleaned up. I highly recommend Joe and John Peterson, the nicest people that you can really count on.

We recently had our roof replaced by Peterson Roofing. We had a very good experience with them. Our contact was Cathy, and she was great about answering all our questions and was really patient while we made our decision. They weren't the least expensive option, but between the longevity and reputation of the company, Cathy's helpfulness, and all the detailed information on the printed quote about what shingles, vents, and other supplies they would use, and what extra steps the crew would take to do the job right, we had the most confidence in them. We really feel that you get what you pay for with roofing, and the results we got were worth the higher cost.

When I was looking for a roofer, spoke to my friend in the roofing business as well as my friend that is a general contractor. They all came back with Peterson. I had some other requirements other than just replacing the roof, which involved widening my hatch and bolting a ladder to access the hatch. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the work, and most importantly how clean the crew kept everything. Recently had neighbors with roof work done and they were not as clean as Peterson with pieces and debris from the room in my yard and theirs, that was never fully cleaned up. Will highly recommend Peterson to anyone that is looking for roofing work going forward.

I can not recommend Peterson Roofing enough. They came out fast and were extremely professional and easy to understand when describing my roof system. We had multiple roofing professionals come out and Peterson Roofing was by far the most knowledgeable. They found 3 things that no other so called experts found. I have dealt with a number of local roofers in my 30 years at the same address in DesPlaines. Peterson was the most professional, and ethical I have worked with. They do top quality work for reasonable prices, and no drama. Just great work, cleanup 100%, No Brainer, go with Peterson.

If we could give more than five stars, we would. Peterson roofing did not come to us like many of the storm chasers did in our neighborhood. We went to them with concerns and they came out. We definitely had hail damage and they helped us walk through the process with insurance. Cathy was on top of everything and was in constant contact with us through the entire roof replacement. Jim Jr. answered every question we had and we felt confident that our roof was being done properly. Some attic insulation work revealed multiple leaks in my roof. I called Peterson Roofing for help and despite tight schedules they sent somebody to my house right away who quickly and effectively fixed every leak. I was so pleased with the work that I later decided to call Peterson Roofing again when it was time to replace the roof. My house is a tri-level, a pretty big job, and they completed the work in one day with what looked like a small army. The roof looks great and most importantly is effectively keeping my house dry. They also addressed some venting issues to prevent icycles in the winter. It may seem like a small thing, but I was super impressed with their attention to detail in removing the nails from my yard (probably thousands from the tear-off). The team very carefully scoured the grounds with metal detectors and cleaned every inch of my yard. I'm grateful for the patience of the team in answering my questions, the flexiblity with scheduling, the great price, service, and product. This company is first class all the way.

The roofing industry is full of shady and fly by night businesses which is why I chose a local family owned business that has been around for decades. I was completely confident with Peterson roofing from start to finish and so relieved to know that my roof and skylights were done right. I highly recommend Peterson Roofing if you are in need of a good local roofing company.

I selected Peterson Roofing based on all the good reviews, however, my experience was a bit different. The repair person did not follow instructions listed in the estimate and the initial work that was performed was sloppy. While he did come back to do some touch-up, I was still not completely satisfied with the entirety of the project. Needless to say, I will be looking for a different company for future roofing needs.

My parents used this company and would give no stars if possible. They redid an entire roof to remove mold and promised a resolution with a 7 year warranty. The mold came back 2 years later and Peterson roofing is washing their hands of the situation. $14,000 invested into a dead end. Please avoid this company at all costs.

Provided a quick accurate quote and the roofer even went out of his way to try to match the patch to my existing 16 year old sun faded roof. I cannot recommend highly enough how happy I was with Peterson Roofing.

Had Peterson Roofing replace the entire roof on my house and install new continuous soffits. I was very happy with their staff and definitely would recommend them.

I retained this company to replace my roof and do some additional work. I had an awesome experience with their quality of work and the level of professionalism displayed by the entire staff, from the Owner to the worker. The whole process went smoothly - getting an estimate, answering questions, scheduling the work, and actually installing a beautiful solid roof - it all was like clockwork. The crew was extremely tidy, I haven't found any garbage left over from the job. I highly recommend them.

Peterson Roofing has done multiple jobs for me - roof repair after a storm and gutter replacements.

Most recently, I had a huge drainage issue with my gutters (not sized or placed correctly) causing driveway and seepage issues in my house. Peterson was able to figure out how to make the changes. I had asked for a work estimate in November thinking snow would be late and was disappointed with that big November snow. Happily, Peterson came out after that snow was off my roof. Now I have larger, reconfigured gutters before thaws and rain...for a reasonable price.

Every part of their business is professional, and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Hail storm destroyed my roof and some drip edge flashing. Met with a few different contractors, and some of these outfits can be shady. That was never the case with Peterson. They were always completely forthcoming and explained everything that needed to be done in great detail. A few pieces of my plywood base layer needed to be replaced, and they explained why in a way that satisfactory. Cathy in the office was great to work with. They worked well with the insurance company, which made it easier for me. They did miss part of the drip edge the first time they came out. I followed up with them, and they came back to fix it, no questions asked, on a day when it was extremely cold outside. Some of my neighbors had complaints about their fly-by-night, storm-chasing contractors (shoddy work, lack of insurance, permit issues, etc.). I never worried about any of that with Peterson. I referred them to my parents and in laws, and we were all pleased with the experience. Glad I went with Peterson.

When i was i need for a new flat roof for my apartment building i called 4 different companies to get quotes. Peterson roofing was able to give me the best roofing material, with the best warranty for the best price. They were able to get it done in a few days from when i gave them the job. i never write reviews, but had to for this company. $250 for 15 minutes of work to replace 5 shingles, add a little glue to repair some storm damage is very high. Time for me to search for another roofing company I guess even though Ive had this company compete work before, I guess times have changed. If you took the time to read this search for another roofer, get another quote you will save $. Very disappointed

They put roofs on our two outbuildings in 2015. They were very professional, friendly, skilled. We would highly recommend them. They were rated very well on Angies List too.

This roofing company (Peterson Roofing) is fantastic. They did great work and at a reasonable price. They were quick to come out and assess the situation and just as fast, if not faster, to come out and resolve the leaks I was experiencing. I couldn't believe how quick the turnaround time was. They even took the tarp and everything holding it down off of my roof and stacked it neatly on the side of my house for me. I highly recommend them to my friends and family.

Peterson Roofing has done such a great job roofing our house that neighbors walked up just to watch and/or to find out more about them. Needless to say, due to referrals they did more jobs in our neighborhood. Very impressed!
