This has been the worst nightmare I have ever experienced.

It’s been July (over 3 months ago) since Paul Davis destroyed my home and no progress of “restoration” has even started. Not only has it taken this long, but additionally Paul Davis caused MORE damages by negligent work practices flooding my entire kitchen and basement.

It is now middle of October and wall insulation is removed (it’s now getting to chilling temperatures, we all know how much oil heating costs in CT), I have no kitchen or primary bathroom. And there is no plan in sight. Paul Davis is screening our phone calls, and ignoring our attempts at communication.

I would never even recommend this company to my worst enemies.

After a pipe burst behind a wall in my kitchen, my insurance company engaged Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven to handle the inintial clean up and mitigation. There was extensive water damage to the kitchen and the basement since the water had leaked downstairs as well. They did an excellent job. I was very pleased with my project manager Scott who communicated exactly what they would do and when. Based on my experience I highly recommend Paul Davis Restoration. As an update, I have also had an excellent working relationship with Jeremy Lichter of Paul Davis Restoration. Jeremy has handled the day to day scheduling of the repair work and has always been responsive to my requests.
The project has been completed, and I want to finish my review by stating that I would recommend Paul Davis Restoration to my friends and relatives without reservation. Jeremy is a perfectionist and has insisted that all work be done to his high standards. He has also been my contact with the insurance company as well as the subcontractors who worked on the project. Many thanks to Jeremy, Scott and the entire team at Paul Davis Restoration!

My Insurance company suggested Paul Davis to me when I had a small leak from our upstairs toilet. I thought Jeremy did a great job at restoring our property, and it honestly looks better now than it did before. I would definitely use them again if needed.

We worked with Paul Davis to restore our laundry and flooring due to pipe bursting. We would definitely use them again. The whole team were made a the process easier, and they responsive to all our concerns and questions.

EDIT - after reply. They were not timely, the sheet they wrote was a joke and the work they did was subpar and dangerous. Their claims about 'high standards' and 'quality' hold no water when one actually sees the work completed, both physical building work and intellectual work creating a comprehensive estimate.
On the day they were supposed to present me a contract (9 weeks after the remediation) they changed their tune about every aspect of the job and attempted to add at least $10,000 onto the job out of my pocket.

Paul Davis did my remediation on a water claim, which was not done completely and was left in a hazardous state. When speaking with their estimator and project manager in person there was an agreement made regarding the scope of the work and some upgrades to the existing flooring. I was to do the upgrades myself and this was discussed and agreed upon with both. In addition there was already too much underlayment in the affected areas which I was going to remedy before they came in to do the replacement.
After these discussions, I was informed that the extra underlayment (3rd layer of underlayment and heavy damaged from them removing some of the tiles) needed to be left in place and that the upgrades I was going to do myself could only be completed by Paul Davis. Leaving the 3rd layer of underlayment would have resulted in a substandard install, which in itself was a deal breaker. Tile needs a proper subfloor and underlayment base in order to have the longevity and stability that tile floors are known for, improper installation is worse than not installing tile in the first place. That coupled with them refusing to allow me to do some of the upgrades myself was a blatant attempt to upcharge me for the repairs while simultaneously doing a substandard install.
For these reasons I opted to remove them from my project.
I fully expect ANY contractor to do two things -
1. Be honest and forthright in all discussions regarding the project
2. Do a quality and industry standard install. Neglecting to properly address the floor under the tile absolutely unacceptable.

I will not contact Paul Davis again for ANY work, and I will strongly suggest to anyone I know to avoid using them for any work on their home.

Horrible company. We had water damage in a 1800 sq ft playroom and a bathroom upstairs. They installed the drying equipment wrong couple of time and every team they sent badmouthed and criticized the work of the previous team within the company. It took a long time to fix the issues to the point that we requested that our insurance company assigns us another contractor which they did.

This is the follow-up to the owner reply: you are actually quite familiar with the project and the situation at our home in Chester CT. You called my husband John to try to smooth things over after we complained to the insurance company . We have been assigned a different company since.

Paul and his team came out immediately to clean up and dry out our basement after it flooded. We unfortunately had to remove our carpeting due to the flood, but they disposed of it for us. I will definitely use them for any future basement restoration needs.

Due to a leak in our basement we needed a company to mitigate damage and provide assistance on putting it back together. Scott and everyone from PD have been wonderful thus far! The mitigation, communication and we look forward to continued work with this company!!!!

During a difficult time Scott and Anthony showed up and were knowledgable and kind and calm everything I needed to look ahead to a postive outcome.

I had contacted a company that said it would be several days before they would be able to come assess the damage. I decided to contact Paul Davis and was put in touch with Scott. He was so friendly and was able to come over within an hour of my call on December 30th (Friday) afternoon.

He not only assessed the damage but had his team of professionals begin the cleanup of the water damage from the burst pipe. Throughout the next several days, over the holiday weekend, Scott came over and completed the cleanup, removing the damaged carpeting so it wouldn't get mold and mildew from being wet for so long.

I was extremely happy with the professionalism and service I received from the mitigation experts at Paul Davis and urge anyone that is dealing with stress of damages from water, fire or storm to reach out to Paul Davis. They will provide peace of mind knowing the work is being handled correctly.

Returned from a three day mini-vacation only to find a water pipe had been leaking all the time we were away.

They immediately responded and initiated water mitigation services, followed by a detailed analysis of the damages. PDR is a multi-faceted company that serves all the needs of a homeowner in need of restoration of many kinds following a "disaster" in your home. Although it involved my following the repairs with several different worker/managers in charge of various types of repairs, the office staff and my fav guy, Scott, kept me informed and ALWAYS answered the phone in person when possible. No waiting for return calls! Its a relief to get updates and ask questions from a coordinator like Scott. The repair work was done well by experienced workers, scheduling as soon as their work load allowed. I've learned its a complicated business and PDR does it well.

I used this company after I had a fire in my garage and smoke damage throughout the house. Their cleaning service and pack out of furnishings was done well but the restoration of the house where they reconstructed the garage and adjacent walls to the house along with some additional work on the interior required constant follow up and challenging of the work to have the work done correctly. While they met the terms of the contract in terms of timing which was 2 months longer than other estimates it became clear that they needed that extra time due to poor management of sub contractors. Just my opinion!

I worked with Jason Jerrell and he was courteous, professional and followed up with my insurance adjuster when needed which was quite a few times. The work was completed in good time. I am waiting for the repair work to start soon. Thank you

Our insurance Co sent Paul Davis out after our dishwasher flooded our kitchen while we were gone. What appeared to be a small malfunction turned out to be a huge deal with lots of water going under our floors and into basement. Never imagined ! Scott from Paul Davis was out right away and set up dehumidifiers in kitchen and finished part of basement where water leaked down to from kitchen. He’s been super nice and responsive and checks on us daily during the “drying process” . They’ve been so responsive and streamlined the process for us by communicating with our insurance co , Safeco, directly so we will use them for the repair and restoration process of our kitchen !

Paul Davis was part of an insurance claim for a leak in our house. The mitigation portion of the process was fine and the crew were very responsive. The restoration portion of the business was very poor. Our repairs were during a pandemic, with that said however, the straight forward job took almost an entire year, had a hard time finding a sub-contractor to do the job for what they quoted and then the one we ended up with was just horrible with almost no professional aptitude (FYI- it was Jame Salls roofing and remodel so you know to stay away from them). Most things were redone twice or more and we had to serve as on site foreman or it would have been even worse. Stairs were damaged, repiars made with damaged material and left as if there was no problem, workers were drunk/drinking on the job, sometimes would show and sometimes not with no communication, no tradesman, workers with little technical experience and were mostly learning on the job...this experience goes on in detail but needless to say we were devastated that we trusted these "professionals" with putting our home back together with pride and respect. When paul davis was asked to intervene they said they could not control the sub-contractor, and this applies to complaints about professional behavior as well. So the company may be fine for mitigation, however fair warning on trusting the restoration side with your business and home.

We experienced a devastating pipe burst in the winter of 2021 at our home in Shoreline CT. Paul Davis helped us get through the initial stages with deep 24-hour availability and attention. The Paul Davis remediation supervisor Joseph D ("Joe") ensured the water damage was triaged as soon as possible leaving us with a house ready for reconstruction. During the entire process Joe made himself available day and night and no question was too trivial for his attention. As we moved into the reconstruction phase we spent time with Paul Davis restoration associate Jeremy L who was amazing at providing us with a detailed estimate and patiently fielding all of our questions and concerns. Our homeowners insurance company equally reported positive, seamless interactions and cooperation from Paul Davis to assess and process our insurance claim.

The Paul Davis professional repair team always showed up on time, was efficient in completing their work, showed the highest level of professional craftsmanship in completing repairs, always cleaned up thoroughly after their work, were always courteous in their interactions with us, and showed the highest commitment to completing repairs as if we were members of their own family. If asked, I would give them my highest endorsement and recommendation.

We hired Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven to do some disinfecting throughout our industrial production facility on 2 occasions within a few weeks of each other. Jason and his crew were incredibly responsive, professional and thorough in the jobs that they did. They even called to revise the quoted price on the second job when their crew were more efficient than the original estimate on time. You can't beat that dedication to customer relations or service. I had a pipe that leaked in my house. That day I contacted my insurance company who contcted Paul David. The next day I had someone at my house to evaluate the work that needed to be done. I had to have my entire living room gutted and redone. Paul Davis is an amazing job and quickly. I would definetly use them in the future for any work needed on my house.

Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven, CT responded immediately after my contacting my insurance provider. They assessed the situation of raw sewage entering the finished lower level of my home. Within an hour a crew arrived and began remediation, containment and air cleansing of the house. They quickly removed damaged, contaminated items and set up barriers to prevent further contamination. next came surveys and measurements done swiftly and accurately and forwarded to the insurer immediately so the restoration process could begin.
Throughout the entire remediation (including unknown asbestos tile), preparation and restoration/construction process I was constantly kept aware of each steps requirements, crew arrival times and status. They were always on time and any questions or requests I may have had were dealt with in a professional, caring manner.
The quality of their work and their attention to detail was greatly more than expected.
I now have a lower level space that is above and beyond what I had expected when the disaster took place.

These guys did great work on my home in difficult circumstances, ended up putting a floor tile in that wasn't safe for the direct sunlight in the sunroom and redid all the work with a different product at no extra cost. We called Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven very early on a Sunday morning after waking up to a major flood throughout our entire finished basement. Their Technicians arrived within two hours and had things under control by the end of the day.
