On Time Insulation is one of the most reliable insulation companies in Massachusetts. Their team is known for quality work, honest communication, and deep knowledge in spray foam and blown-in insulation. If you're looking for an insulation contractor that values education, clean installation, and long-term results, this is the company to trust. A great option for homeowners upgrading attics, basements, or removing old insulation.
The insulation itself was done fairly well. There were some areas of the attic, including the windows, where they did not adequately protect the glass from the spray. This resulted in the foam insulation hardening on the glass and I had to use a paint scraper to remove the spray (while trying not to scratch the glass).
The real problem occurred when they painted over the insulation, but removed the paint tarps minutes after painting, before the paint had days to dry. This resulted in huge amounts of paint dripping on to our hardwood floors.
When I discovered the dripping, I immediately contacted the owner, Marco. After a few minutes of debate, he agreed to come out and look at the damage in person. When he arrived, Marco said he was surprised that the painter had removed the tarps and agreed that they should have been left in place until the paint had time to dry. By this point I had already started trying to mop up the paint myself to minimize the damage to our hardwood floors.
Marco and I spent the next three hours hand scrubbing the floors to remove the wet paint. Ultimately, we are able to get most of the wet paint off the surface, but not before some of it had already stained the hardwood. It actually ended up taking about a week before the paint was dry enough to touch and we had to leave newspapers and blankets across all of the floors to catch the remaining drips over the next few days.
I end up having to pay a flooring specialist to sand and re-stain the hardwood floors. This added another $1500 in unexpected costs to the project.
I would give this business a 4 out of 5 for the insulation, deducting points because they sprayed the glass window with foam insulation. I would give them a zero 0 of 5 for the painting of the insulation.
