Old Hickory Sheds and Rapid River Rentals

I want to start off with a positive…the river is warm enough and the views are beautiful. HOWEVER wish I could have spent more time enjoying views and the experience but alas I was too busy fighting for my life. This is a great experience if you are a seasoned rafter or just in a raft in general but if you are in a tube with minimal experience going down a river BEWARE. This company gave NO safety talk about what to do in case of falling out of your tube. It was not clear where the meet up site was. And they gave the people in our tubes NO way to control ourselves, like a paddle. We were lead to believe this was a chill river and had nothing to worry about and that was not the case. All of our tubers in our group had traumatic experiences. So just proceed with caution with this company. Maybe cheap prices are for a reason.

Our group had a great time floating down the Henry's Fork River. It was a last minute decision and we were there as they were ready to close. They were really accommodating and the owner came by to pick us up after her employees had gone home for the evening.

Their prices are a lot more reasonable than Island Park.

The scenery was beautiful and it took us just over 90 minutes once we got in the water.

The rafts and life jackets were in good and clean condition.

Wonderful customer service. Heather was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Our family got a Old Hickory shed we love and the delivery was smooth. The gentleman that delivered was very kind and put the shed where we needed. Give them a call or check them out in Ashton.

My visit to Rapid River Rentals far exceeded my expectations!! They were absolutely amazing. They were friendly and the perfect mix of professional but laid back. It is a small company, but they had plenty of people to accomodate the customers. They made it very easy to rent the tubes and such, had a great selection of lifejackets (included in the rental price) and I was able to find one that didn't bother me to wear. The shuttle driver was fantastic and very accommodating to ensure that we had the best experience we could.
As for the experience (the float down the river) itself, it was amazing!!! I was very nervous, because I dont have a lot of experience on the water and don't like things too fast moving. This stretch of Henry's Fork was perfect!! It was pretty slow where we put in......had to get ourselves into the current to get going. (It was quite crowded at the launch, but don't let that deter you). After we got going, we moved a little faster than I expected to, but it turned out to be just the right amount. I was never scared, never fell off or felt the slightest bit unsafe. We had beautiful scenery, saw some baby ducks, and got splashed in the "rapids" just enough to feel like we floated the river. At the end where you get out, you slow almost to a stand still. This made is so there was no stress about getting out, which was nice. Next time, I will probably use it as an excuse to get off the tube & swim just for fun. Overall, it was the best experience I have had on a river in years!! I would absolutely recommend it and I plan to go again in a few weeks.
The rental 'barn' is literally right off hwy 20, so it was super convenient. The prices were fantastic......really can't be beat! And there is even a snow cone stand right out back where you can enjoy a treat before or after your adventure.
I would 1000% recommend these guys! (Except I don't want them to get so busy they grow and change, haha)
If you are having any hesitations......don't. You will have an incredibly good time!! I know I did!

Our family took two trips down the river today. Rapid River Rentals exceeded our expectations at every turn. The price, service and value were all excellent.

They were able to accommodate my group of 36. We loved our float down the river and being chauffeured to the start and from the finish.

What a fun afternoon as a family. We have never been rafting before as a family and decided to give it a shot. It was so much fun and the Cordingly set us up with two six person rafts, fitted all the kids in life jackets, drove us to the drop off point and picked us up after the trip. Money well spent! Can't wait to do it again. It was so hassle free. We are going to try the kayaks next time.

This place was awesome! I rented a raft and several tubes. Their equipment was great and their shuttle service was extremely convenient. Would definitely use them again.
