Northern Construction Paving

The team at Northern Construction & Paving recently completed replacing the garage floor in our two car garage and replacing our driveway which is now beautifully bordered by Belgian blocks.

We couldn't be happier with the quality of the work and the overall experience. Dan and Ben sent a top quality team over to handle the work. Our 60 year old garage floor had settled and cracked. Northern removed, set rebar which I never had and replaced it beautifully. The guys even spent a half day making sure is was smoothed to a very tight finish.

The old driveway had settled and we had water pooling problems before Northern did the replacement. The guys at Northern raised and regraded the driveway for us. Two days after the job was finished it poured and it was very cool to see the water run off without any pooling - the way it was meant to!

As far as the Belgian block border. It was set to the driveway grade as I had requested. When it was done the team filled the space between the blocks and my lawn and went so far as to re-set an attached stone walkway and seed the lawn edge.

Pricing was very fair and everything was handled just as agreed, if not better. A++

Northern Construction Paving did an excellent job! They responded quickly, replaced the wrong trench drain, installed by another contractor and paved the driveway as soon as weather permitted. Northern just replaced my driveway, front walkway and front stairs. All came out beautiful. Very professional and easy to work with. We will be using them for all other work going forward. Highly recommend.

They left the street extremely dirty with tar stains and I had complaints from my neighbors. I still do. But, the WORST thing was a rust stain from equipment running halfway down my long driveway, of which I will have to live with for two years until I can re-coat my driveway. It’s extremely unsightly. In the contract, it said they would use two different sized rollers for maximum compaction. However, only the smaller roller was present on this job. The owner never showed up, just his very young son the first day, and not seen after that.

I got 4 estimates and I am SO GLAD I decided on Northern Construction! I have a very long driveway so it was a big decision. These guys were very professional, great, great job, great communication and great job overall. Did I mention, great job? Some things bear repeating. I would highly recommend them to friends and family. Very few companies live up to their rave reviews, but these guys really did.

We just finished our driveway project and Northern Construction Paving was amazing to work with. They installed a 5 ft Belgian Block apron in addition to asphalt on the driveway. Ben and his team were meticulous mapping out every detail of the project—from timing, pitch, drainage, and expectations to the final product. Five stars PLUS! Why Plus? On the day of paving they noticed that one side was wet. They found and immediately replaced old, buried, broken pipes draining from the gutters. Reasonable additional charge. As Ben said: "I am glad we found this now and not later." Probably the reason the old driveway was a mess.

After being screwed by another contractor on a deck, I was a little hesitant in hiring another one to get work done. We got a quote last year from Ben, but due to our other problem we decided not pursue it last year. We reached out to Ben the begining of this year for him to come out and give another quote and to our 2 sidewalks and driveway. We felt so much confidence and profession that we went ahead and got it done. As one of six home owners in croton on hudson ,living on a private road ,we had our entire road re paved for a length of over 1500 feet not only did northern regrade the badly worn and existing road they made it wider and slanted the road to aid in water removal,they also made the road with out a crown to prevent snow plow removal from chopping up the center of the paved road. the material used was state top and was suggested by them to insure a lasting job, best suggestion ever. they use 8 ton rollers to pack down the paving so it could be driven on almost right after the job was finished ,the work was done so great , myself and another home owner on this private road also had them do our own private driveway and front parking area my homes drive way is over 130 feet long and my parking area is over 3000 square feet every single part of the job is terrific and not only as a home owner ,i am also a retire business person who had extensive knowledge of construction and other businesses ,i would recommend this company in a heart beat.
The paving beat out all other bidders hand down ,instead of a 10 foot wide common road they made it 12 to 13 feet wide and instead of two inches of paving compressed to 1.5 inches the put in fro 3 to 4 inches and compressed down to more than other companies would start with , over all the money was more than comparable to what as quote by other with half the material . MYSELF AND ALL THE OTHER FIVE HOME OWNER ARE MORE THAN SATISFIED WE ARE OVER JOYED ,i am sure you will read more great reviews from my fellow home owner on this road.

The Northern Construction crew did exceptional work replacing our 26-year-old driveway with a completely new one. This was a challenging task, long and hilly, with multiple curves. The crew was hard-working, pleasant, and careful and diligent about both their work and the clean-up. Ownership was a pleasure to work with as well, honest, professional and timely with responses to questions and good at keeping to a schedule. The new driveway looks great! When needed, residents were safely assisted to and from their units by his workers. He repalced a crumbling railroad tie retaining wall, put in drainage & graded laid item 4 on my driveway and when I was ready to upgrade, put down pavers on the driveway circle. Ben and his wife Lisa,are honest, fair and do the highest quality work. I recently referred them to my Quaker Meeting in Amawalk repave their driveway (asphalt). It was a difficult job. They did first class work at the lowest bid.

After 15 years living in my home, it was time to replace my walkway and driveway. Needed to hire a reputable firm that is known for quality work and I trusted the job would last the test of time. I knew I could not be home to supervise the project, that is why I trusted Northern Construction. The total project consumed three full days with a crew of between 4-7 men each day. As each day came to a close the job site was perfectly clear and clean.
On the last day, you would not have known that there was any construction during the previous three days.
The best feeling is that while I was away, my neighbors kept sending me texts messages and photos about the excellent job that was occurring at my property. I could not have asked for a better outcome. Best news is that the final cost was exactly in line with my wife’s expectations. - she is the boss. .

Ben and his crew did an excellent job ripping up my old asphalt driveway, putting down quality material, and installing our new asphalt driveway. They broke out the big machinery as well as the precision lasers for all the proper grading all at a great price. Ben is amazing. You would think he was paving his own home. My driveway is 700’ long on a hill. Driveway came out amazing. No short cuts taken. Ben answers all text's and calls right away. I hired Ben to install roofing gutters that would route water through pvc pipe underground out to a catch basin in front of my home. He also gave me a free quote on my driveway which was great since I wanted to compare prices with other contractors. His was the most reasonable by far and his crew paved it brand new in just a few hours. They did a flawless job installing the the gutters and connecting the piping to the catch basin at the edge of my lawn. Overall there services were excellent!
