I just recently had them do some insurance work for some water damage to my home through Pemco. They came highly rated and touted some impressive promises, almost none of which they lived up to. First, they started off telling me they could have the project, which was water damage to a shower area, buttoned up inside of two weeks. After multiple calls to get someone on site because they never reached out to schedule, it took nearly 5 months for them to get the work done. The communications were atrocious and they had plenty of excuses of why it took them so long. In fact, we had to drive the project along without much help, and some of the services their subs did were underwhelming and no one bothered to ask us whether we were satisfied with the work. Carpentry was ok, and so was paint and flooring, but the tile work was not great (they missed caulking in some places and stained our new shower pan) and it took several contacts to even get them to respond to a request for a final inspection while they indignantly put a lien on our house even though we didn't yet have a final inspection. Oh, and they charged nearly $20k for the repairs, of which, I believe maybe $7K was justified. HIGHLY recommend AGAINST doing business with them as they have no idea how to treat customers correctly. D MINUS grade overall. Consider other contractors.

After experiencing a flood from a faulty drain pipe in our home we were lucky to be referred to Nordic Services, Bremerton, WA.
We had extensive damage to a bathroom, an office room, and carpet in four rooms and two hallways, and we were in need of finding a restoration construction company we could trust.
Nordic Services (Bremerton) came to our home in a timely manner and provided a fair and comprehensive bid for the necessary work to be done.
We were very satisfied with the workers and especially happy with the quality of the work they accomplished for us.
From start to finish, we were given respect and a fair price for high quality work.
I would highly recommend Nordic Services, Bremerton, to anyone looking to repair or remodel his or her home.

We hired Nordic Services based on the recommendation of our insurance company for a house fire and water damage as a result. We are so happy that we took the recommendation and hired them - our house is better than new and you would never know that we had restoration work done. From start to finish, this has been a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend this company to anyone needing restoration work. The crew worked hard and did an amazing job. Very thankful to each and every one of them for giving us our house back. Thank you!

Nordic did a fantastic job restoring our basement after some severe water damage. The final product is better than it was prior to the damage. Kudos to Louie, Andrew, Tyler, Eli, Morgan, Trent, Ryan and Patricia. Highly recommend this company.

AVOID FOR MANY REASONS! PLEASE READ!

We made a big mistake by choosing them. We had some tree damage last Spring and couldn't find a contractor that could start for several months. Nordic said they could do the restoration and a kitchen remodel we wanted. I did some research and noticed they were not rated very high, management sold us on they could do the job. Our first bid was reasonable, but then we agreed on some changes and the second bid was almost double. We were perplexed, so we started to audit the bid before we signed it. We had told Nordic that we already had appliances, several times, but they tried charged us for them. We also found several duplicate items in the bid, David Omli President of Nordic said these were simple mistakes! After cleaning these up, they submitted another bid, that had more duplicate items. We never signed the final bid due to continuous mistakes.

They are very expensive, there is a 30% markup on every item. They also don't provide any help on selecting items such as floors, roof materials, and so on. It's a trust us we know what we are doing, we've been doing it for 30 years mentality. We had a new roof put on, they dropped off a shingle sample board, told us to pick a color, that's it. We didn't know quality, warranty, price, why choose this over that? Same with our cabinets. Also estimates for subcontractors were extremely high, we had two bids for electrical from Nordic for the kitchen $17,400 and $13,500(after making them get another bid). After those I had two electricians give me a bid and they averaged $7,500.

When we confronted management on these issues, we received long winded and derogatory responses. There were times where we would go weeks without a response. Once we fired them, it took them almost 2 months for them to respond. They sent us a final bill with items on it they did not perform, plus pressuring us to pay.

----

Replying to Nordics response: Don't be swayed by David's response. There were over 3 times they tried to double bill us, even after specific emails and phone calls to remove things. It was his idea to bill the insurance company for wood shakes and then use that money in the remodel. The two electricians that reviewed Nordics electrical bid are certified King County Electrical inspectors coming from being an licensed electrician. I think they primarily deal with insurance companies, are understaffed and not detailed when it comes to running a project.

Nordic Services has excellent customer service and an extensive list of subcontractors for just about anything your home could require. My Bothell home needed additional insulation and I didn't just want to choose anyone from the phone book or the mailer ads, so I called Nordic and they sent a great team out who got my attic filled and not my house. The crew was clean, on-time, courteous and affordable. I will definitely look to Nordic Services for future needs.

They do good work, but they are incredibly slow. They rescheduled multiple times, took over 2 months to finish about 24 hours worth of work. They are also obscenely expensive. They charged $2700. It was covered by insurance so I didn't worry about price too much until after getting aggravated with their poor customer service. I called around and found another company who offered to do the job for $700. I will never use this company again and hope this serves as a warning to other potential customers out there.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
