Nomadic Camper & RV Repair

We used Nomad for a camper inspection before we purchased a newer camper!! They were very knowledgeable, easy to work with and very helpful! Their price was VERY reasonable!!! We will used them again!!!

Awesome company. Everyone was great and extremely easy to work with. Great communication and definitely would recommend them and will be using them again in the future.

After another shop held my horse trailer 'indefinitely' (for a simple plug/cord replacement) and then last minute wired it incorrectly, causing light issues that rendered me unable to travel legally (they informed me of the problem when I picked up the trailer) - these folks graciously took me on short-notice, corrected the wiring and got me on the road to meet a deadline. I appreciated their willingness to help me out in a bind when they didn't have to. I heard them asking another client "when do you need this by?" so I know that timeliness is taken into consideration with everyone, as well as accuracy, which can't be assumed with every shop!

Brought RV in because the leveling system was reading "low voltage". I told them, from my online research and troubleshooting with Lippert, that I thought there was an elecrical short or maybe a blown fuse. They ended up, unnecessarily, installing a brand new leveling controller, interface panel and battery (without asking me first), which totalled over $1,500. The fuse they replaced, which was the real issue, cost $10.
I asked to have the original (still functioning) parts that they replaced and was told they already threw them away. Along with the battery, which I had purchased just a few months prior.

I am leaving this review 2 years later because the issue happened again and after contacting Lippert and about 30 minutes of trouble shooting over the phone, I purchased a fuse with the correct amperage, and it was fixed. Cost me $6 and only took about an hour.

New to the RV world ! I had my RV ready for travel but my plans suddenly changed to travel to New York instead of southern Texas. That meant my RV needed urgent winterizing. I arrived at Nomadic Camper to receive open arms to thaw out my RV. Lessen that i have learned!!! They immediately started to thaw out my RV without any broken pipes. They saved me!!! Thanks to the entire team!!

One of the best experiences I have ever had in customer service. From the initial phone call till we walked out the door after our camper was finished. I cannot say enough about this staff. If you need your RV worked on Luke and Tyler is top notch. The receptionist was very polite on the phone and very helpful when we arrived helping to spot our camper when we was backing in. Again if you need your rv serviced this is the place.

We were on our way to Florida for vacation when we lost an axle near Radford Va. Upon a web search I found Nomadic Camper and RV Repair. Hobbled the camper to there lot and was greeted by several technicians and was evident that we needed a new axle. Going inside and speaking with Hannah made our day. She was very compassionate and concerned with our situation. She said once the technicians did there assessment of the damage she would let us know. She was like might as well load up the truck and make the best of it without the camper. So we did just that. We loaded up and continued our trip as planned with our the camper. She kept in contact with us and updated us whenever something would come about or change. We lost a wheel and she searched for a replacement but ended up finding out that the wheels we had on our camper we obsolete. She got us a replacement tire so we would have a spare if needed once we came back to get camper. She processed the bill and called Good Sam for our warranty claim. Hannah is not only a great asset to Nomadic Camper and RV Repair, but a good hearted person as well. Thanks Hannah for in our opinion going above and beyond in getting us back on the road sooner then we anticipated. Good job!

I had my generator serviced at Normadic Camper and RV repair. The generator would not start and just quit on us. It was not running smoothly when it worked. Normadic did a wonderful job fixing the generator. Now it starts on the first crank, and running smoothly.

Also they did the waste valve replacements and other smaller tasks. All the issues were resolved. They also got the RV ready on the promised date.

Their price is very competitive and i think that’s why many people use their service.

Only one thing: call early for an appointment. I waited for about 6 weeks…but it’s worth the wait.

Really meticulous and great at communication. They probably also saved my life, found a broken axel, and I didn't even know that was the problem.

We were traveling from Utah and had some issues with our RV. Even though they were booked and had a parking lot full of RV’s, they squeezed us in, professionally took care of our issues in one day! Big slide motor decided to stop working on our way to Tennessee. Called Nomadic RV and they made had me rolling that morning. Very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.

We had a tire blowout that tore off the siding of our RV. Even though we needed major repairs from ripped wires Ect. They were able to “fix” the siding so insulation wasn’t exposed to the elements.
The job they did was amazing. Even though we can’t use the slide out, at least we were able to make it to our destination and can drive it home!
The cost was really fair! If I would’ve had more time I would’ve had them do everything to fix it.
I absolutely recommend them!

We had the best customer service here in May. We had 2 blow outs on our camper on the same day.( it was our 1st trip in our 2019 camper that we purchased late last year from a dealer in Pa.) We had our 2nd blow out on 81 right at their exit. We limped off just hoping we could find a tire place and we were fortunate to pull into Nomadic. They got the tires for us 5 total. We were not taking a chance on the others. They got us back on the road as quick as possible. They also ordered us new sides as the blowouts tore off the tire skirts. They are great!

We lost the door from the refrigerator outside access on I-81. We found Nomad on line and picked up a replacement. Thanks!

Broke a leaf spring traveling south. Called Nomadic Camper and they said, "bring it in." Great guys. Knew what we needed and had us back on the road.

The folks at Nomadic did a great job with cleaning and re-sealing my teardrop camper, fixing a damaged fender, and some other work that was needed. I will definitely bring my camper back in the future for other service, repairs, and upgrades. Super friendly and there was even a nice shop cat

I see why Nomadic has such great reviews. The team of people really work together as a team in solving and handling situations. Their reception / greeting is warm/kind. They are efficient, precise; their work is good, AND their work is very fairly priced! What more can I say, but "thank you for your help yesterday. It meant a LOT!" I Highly(!) recommend this group.

My air suspension bag blew out on Easter Sunday. I found Nomadic on line and the owner returned my call promptly. They had me in the shop Monday morning, diagnosed the problem, sourced the parts, expressed ship next day air and I was on the road the next day. Luke, Madison and Tyler were all very accommodating and efficient. I am planning to return for some more maintenance items the next time I am in Christiansburg! Highly recommend this service center.

They fixed water damage at the rear of the RV. Installed new slide seals and replaced all the slide awnings. They did a great job on all of it.

I randomly had a tire blow out in the middle of the night which snapped one of my axles. I found “Nomadic” with a simple search. They were 20miles away so i limped my trailer there. Dropped it in there lot and got a hotel. By the time i got there just after they opened Luke and his team were already looking for parts. Unfortunately the axles took 4 weeks to get. But in that time i was kept updated as to the progress. I don't think I’ve ever dealt with a company that has kept me up to this up to date. Especially since i had never heard of them before.

Luke was super accommodating when our trailer brakes failed when we were prepared to leave our campground. He determined over the phone that the issue was on the truck and he invited us to bring it over to be tested. He found the issue and did not even charge us for his time. I came in to get a couple of estimates on a Thursday morning. The owner had one if his guys take a look at my van, and then told me he'd call me with the estimates later that day. After not hearing anything, I called them before close-- the estimate wasn't ready. They promised it would be ready by Friday morning. the same thing happened on Friday and Monday. Eventually the owner took my call and said his employee that could do the work quit, and he couldn't do one of the jobs anymore, the other estimate was exceptionally high (guess they're busy and don't need the work?). As for the employee that quit, I asked if he'd be willing to get me in touch since the owner couldn't do the job anyway, but he didn't seem too keen.

Again, I will give Nomadic Camper & RV Repair a second chance. Hopefully it'll go better and I'll change my review to five stars.

My husband and I have an older camper that developed a water leak this summer. Luke's team fixed it for a reasonable price and in a timely manner. They treated our little Sunline with TLC. They are first rate professionals. We are blessed to have them in the area.

We ended up not needing their service, but they were willing to take care of us after their current service call. Super nice folks! We wish the best for the sweet young lady on her first day of work - she had a smile in her voice and a can do attitude - very important and so hard to find these days!!

Took the travel trailer to get a quote on removing the entertainment seating and replace it with a U-shaped dinette which was an option for our unit. Never heard back from them. Called once asked about the quote, said they where still waiting on a phone call form a vendor. Never a return call, took our business elsewhere.

Luke and his team went above and beyond to get us in and out the same day, despite having what should have been a simple brake inspection turn into replacing four wheel bearings on our Airstream. The first place Luke called for parts said it would take four days to get the new bearings in, and this is where Luke's customer service commitment was particularly evident. He made a bunch of calls to source replacement bearings from several different auto parts stores, and arrange for delivery to his shop. At any point he could have said "the parts will be here in a day or two, we'll call you" but he didn't. He kept making calls and by the end of the day we had new bearings, and he started a warranty claim for early failure on the original parts. I highly recommend Nomadic if you have any camper and rv repair or upgrade needs!

We recently purchased an RV from via a private sale. We knew there were a couple of areas of concern and we wanted to address those. We also wanted the RV to be inspected for safety and use prior to taking it out on our maiden voyage, a trip to my Mother's 88th birthday and family reunion. Unfortunately, Luke discovered some undisclosed to us prior to the sale and unanticipated issues. While not happy with his findings, we GREATLY APPRECIATE HIS HONESTY in pointing these out, giving us quotes with the understanding the "unknown" may be discovered in the process and his WILLINGNEES TO TRY to get a portion of the issues dealt with before our trip. We have no guarantees but honesty and making the effort go a long way with us. I will review again after work has been completed but I feel certain we'll be pleased.

Luke & his team were incredible and saved our very first RV trip. Our first night on the road & we stayed at the KOA in Wytheville; hooked up the water only to find it leaking out the side from the tankless water heater. Called Nomadic Camper & they said to bring it right over. Luke immediately diagnosed the problem. He didn't have the necessary part so he called camping world for us & was able to secure the part. While installing the new water heater the team noticed our table was wonky & they immediately fixed it, a panel had just come off & they noticed that too & fixed that as well. This team stopped what they were scheduled to do that day to help stagers get back on the road! Their willingness to help along with their expertise is being measured! HIGHLY recommend!! We'll be forever grateful.

I needed my roof resealed on my camper and luke took care of my needs. Very professional service and experience. I highly recommend nomadic to anyone that needs there camper worked on.

We were lucky to have found the NOMADIC CAMPER & RV REPAIR center when we needed it. The mechanic recognized the seriousness of our problem when we called and the staff went out of their way to immediately help to correct the wheel and brake related condition that had developed. Much thanks to Luke Underwood and his excellent mechanics for the friendly service they provided us. Christiansburg is fortunate to have such an enterprise.

I've taken our Sprinter camper van in several times. First for some plumbing upgrades, next for an AC swap, and then for some roof sealing. All work was done well. The owner is very customer oriented and wants to make sure you are happy.

Had my camper in again for macerator work- it was done quickly, it was more than fairly priced and they have improved their internal processes of keeping customers informed. What a great local business run by good people.

They are wonderful when you’re in a pinch! I fell through the skylight the night before a storm was coming through and they let us bring her on in so the inside wouldn’t be ruined during the storm! Thank you so much! We were very impressed with the work and how pleasant everyone was that worked with us! We will be repeat customers!

We recently had Luke and his crew replace the flooring and reseal our 5th Wheel. They did an excellent job. They were professional and kept in constant contact with us when issues were found. We highly recommend them for any RV need.

All I can say about Nomadic Camper and RV Repair in Christiansburg, VA is that those guys are life savers.
We were on our way from GA to Upstate NY for a family emergency. Our generator stopped working, issues with the furnance, which meant no heat for the night, the drivers side window wouldn't go back up after being put down. We were so stressed. After finding Nomadic online, with their excellent reviews, we headed straight to them.
They took us right in and started assessing the problem. Amazingly after just a short time these guys had us up and running and back on the road. Highly recommend Nomadic Camper and RV Repair.

The Nomadic team did a great job on the repair of our RV. Being new to the RV world, we also had a lot of questions and Ron was very patient in answering them. It's great to have these guys in the NRV. Will definitely use them for all of our motorhome needs in the future.

These guys are no joke. They fixed a huge problem with my rv electrical system and showed me everything that was wrong, told me how it could be fixed and was even willing to teach us along the way. They communicated clearly the problems the quotes and the work that needed to be done even though our motor home seemed to be a bunny hole. Luke, Brandon, and Ron really reassured us and made my wife and I feel like we made the right decision bringing our home to them. We had what we thought was a leak in our Salem Hemisphere 5th wheel, called Nomadic to come and check it out. Ron showed up and was EXCELLENT! Ron has been in the business for a while and knows his way around a camper! We didn’t have a leak the fittings just needed to be tightened ! Thanks Ron for doing a great job!

Bought a new camper from Gander, set up on permanent site, ac kept freezing up, Gander wouldn't help me, said i have to bring it back to them, couldn't cause its setup permanent and i had no way to pull it. Found Nomadic Camper and RV repair online…called and they came out right away and checked my ac unit and agreed it was faulty. Because they do warranty work…they were able to get with the manufacturer and get me a replacement and get me taking care of, all covered under warranty. Straight forward and super nice guys to deal with. Highly recommend for any of your camper or rv repairs.

Luke fixed the problems with our camper and was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. I was very lucky to have found him and will definitely use him again.

Nomadic did a very good job on some water leaks in my conversion van. Quick service, fair price. (and, maybe more impressively, when there was a repair that was omitted the first time, they got the rig right back in and fixed it the same day at their expense). Very glad to have them in the New River Valley!

I really was pleased with their service and Will go back to them anytime that I need my camper worked on.
