Mountain Goat Roofing recently replaced our roof and we are so pleased with their work. Aza who owns the company, provided a comprehensive and detailed inspection/estimate that identified existing problem areas and outlined effective solutions. For example, re-routing a few of the downspouts where damage was evident. In addition, the crew installed a Velux skylight, which turned out really great. In the end, we were very satisfied with the estimate and the final bill was right on target. We were especially impressed with the Mountain Goat crew. They were all very professional, polite, very skilled and worked extremely hard. The amount of time and preparation that they spent on laying out tarps for tearing off the old shingles really paid off as there was no debris to be found around the perimeter of the house. The final cleanup the crew performed was also very thorough. When the new roof was completed, we noticed a lot of attention to detail, including features to help ensure proper water flow. We highly recommend Mountain Goat Roofing, they are top notch!

I had Mountain Goat Roofing do my roof this winter. The did the best job of walking the roof and quoting the job compared to 4 other local companies. Mountain Goat Roofing also replaced two large skylights when they did the roof. Everything turned out fantastic - no leaks and the roof looks great. They used the latest roofing technology with Certainteed products. The team did a great job cleaning each day after their work. Great communication and team work from the crew.

We had our roof and skylights replaced in the middle of November. I was apprehensive because it’s such a rainy and windy season, but Mountain Goat Roofing did a fantastic job. They tore the old roof off in sections when it was dry and made sure to get the underlayment down right away to protect our house if the weather turned bad. They had a large enough crew to work on different sections of the roof at the same time. I was impressed with their professionalism and teamwork, and I appreciated how they timed their work to be able to completely clean up each day before it got dark.
Mountain Goat Roofing is a large enough company to get jobs done between periods of rain and is small enough that it was their owner, Aza Cline, who came out to inspect our old roof, design a plan for a new one, and give us an estimate. They completed the job in five days with one morning off because of rain. One worker came on the sixth day to finish up details and even put a matching roof on our doghouse.

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
