I tell people that I have the best roofers in Tahoe. Mills Roofing took the time and effort to diagnose a baffling winter roof leak, the cause of which eluded two previous roofing companies. At one point, the owner said he would sleep over to figure it out. Miller Roofing also runs their own roofing school that is considered a model in the industry.

Mills Roofing just completed a repair and "screw tune-up" for our metal roof in Tahoe Donner/Truckee. We had an area of sheet metal in a valley that was lifted up and torn by an ice dam and shedding ice, as well as numerous screws that had backed out over the 4 years since we last had a tune-up. Everything about this project went smoothly. I contacted them by phone (left VM) in late-March. Within 24 hrs I was contacted by Diana Barrera to schedule an inspection. Brian Thayer, the inspector then called me 2 days later to review the process and confirm a date for the inspection. We had to reschedule because an unexpected late storm dumped several feet of snow on our roof. We rescheduled for several weeks later, after the snow had melted and shed, and Brian performed a thorough inspection. The same day he discussed his findings, provided detailed photos of the roof, and attached an estimate for the repairs. We signed a contract the next day. Because this was a small, non-urgent job, Mills did not want to schedule specifically, but offered to fit our project in between other larger jobs. Brian said they would contact me when they were nearly completing another job, to see if the timing worked for us. A few days later, Tyler Martin, the Production Administration Manager notified me that we were in the "Production Queue". Seven days later he offered to send a crew before the end of the week. He kept me apprised of their schedule and on the appointed day, Cody and a crew showed up at the appointed time. I was unable to be there because of a scheduling conflict, but he kept me in the loop with phone calls and text messages. At the end of the day he sent a large "Photo Album" with all of the pre- and post- photos. They removed the damaged sheet metal, installed an ice and water barrier, and replaced the damaged sheet metal with new, baked on finish that matches the original. Then they tightened and/or replaced all of the loose screws. They cleaned up everything thoroughly. This is the 2nd time we've used Mills, and we are very satisfied. I recommend them highly, and without reservation.

We hired Mills Roofing to fix a couple of panels on the front right of our roof which had slid down after last winter with all the ice and snow. Russel drove up to our house this summer on Donner Summit, assessed the damage, and gave us an estimate of the cost and ballpark of the timing as they were quite busy with other projects but he had confidence they'd be able to fix it before the snow started to fly again. Sure enough, in early October his crew was out there with the new panels (the old ones had gotten damaged) and fixed it in one day. It looks fantastic, you can't even tell that anything happened to it! Furthermore, their crew were all super friendly and the whole experience was excellent. I wish we had hired them a couple of years ago when we redid the whole roof! I highly recommend Mills Roofing to anyone looking for roofers!

Mills Roofing team did a super job repairing my roof. Additionally they recommended and installed a fix that will hopefully aid in preventing the ice damming issue that caused initial problem. Outstanding staff and all things considered fair pricing.

The first attempt, once the area was prepared it became too windy, so the Mills crew cleaned up and we rescheduled 4 days later, and all went as planned. The crew was efficient and cleaned up great. There was over spay on my new paint job, but the product cleaned up fine from what I can see. If the product does what is advertised, I'm a happy camper.

They made it convenient for me since I was working and couldn’t be present. I received a phone call and was told when the job was complete. The person was professional and explained to me about was done.

Mills was good in communicating what their services were, explaining what they found upon inspecting the roof, and what my options were for treatments and maintenance moving forward. All the staff was professional and courteous.

Mills came in the middle of winter (tahoe), when nobody else even returned our call. Then came and replaced shingles after the snow melted. Very nice guys, very brave, and very helpful. Thank you very much. Future issues will surely to to Mills Roofing. Wouldn't use anybody else.

We had the pleasure of working with Mills Roofing to complete a re roof/ residing / repair job to our home. In summary Mills set the expectations on what the project would entail, potential variables, cost and when it would be done and in the end all of my expectations where meet. Working with Brad Mills on this project was a class in mountain living. He spent significant time speaking with us on all of the roofing options available to address the snow/ice and rain. I specifically appreciate the time he spent explaining how a roof must be maintained + the time he spent going through all of the photos or the pre and post project. Overall working with Mills was a great experience not only for the roof they installed but for the education we received on how to maintain it. Mills Roofing performed snow removal for my house in Tahoe Vista. They provide excellent customer service both over the phone and in person. All workers were friendly and worked diligently, and the foreman was both positive and well informed. Will definitely be using their snow removal service again. Additionally, I will be considering Mills for my next roof replacement or repair.

Our Winter Creek home in Truckee lost shingles (the roof was not leaking) due to an ice dam the winter of 2022 which Mills repaired that summer for $3500. This following winter, 2023, icicles were forming behind the fascia board in the same roof area where the repair was done. That indicated that the roof was leaking. Mills denied that their repair caused the leak.
Another fee approaching $3,000, this month, was charged to remove snow from just that area of the roof to expose the ice dam that formed this year.
I think their fees are high for repairs that make the matter worse. I recommend avoiding this company.

Used Mills to deal with an ice dam on my roof - they cleared the problem area and installed heat trace to prevent the problem from happening again until I can repair the roof in the spring. I had quotes for less, but I really wanted a professional (read: safe and insured) team to do the work. On this measure, I was very happy. The team did a great job communicating with me throughout the day when they did the work.

This has been a HARTY WINTER for us. We had some snow/ice build up on our roof which was causing a leak. I called in and the staff was so knowledgeable and showed genuine concern. Contacted Mills Roofing to have a large ice dam removed from our roof. They were quick to respond and had a crew at our house 2 days later to complete the work. They were great with communication, the crew lead called with ETA for arrival, again when they were onsite, and again when they were complete to give us an update on the work they completed (Thanks Tyler!). Overall happy with their service and would not hesitate to use them again.

Roof snow removal: We are very happy with the work Mills Roofing did for us. Their crew arrived on time, set up their safety procedures (harnesses etc), and got straight to work. They were personable, efficient, and professional from start to finish. In the past, we've paid nearly as much for uninsured and untrained men to spend a lot more time on our roof. It's a risky business standing on a two-story, snow/ice covered roof. Leave it to the pros and hire Mills Roofing!

I had an emergency stemming from significant snow resulting in a persistent slow leak. Obviously, this was a busy time due to the heavy snow storm and continued snow but I waited a week after being told they were booking 2 days out. With that said, once booked, they arrived early considering they are coming from ~hour away in good weather. The 2 gentleman were very thorough and amazingly fast considering the amount of snow on the roof. In the approx 4 hours they were here, they updated me a couple of times and then reviewed what they had done before they left.

We have used Mills Roofing both to shovel our roof and to repair damage that was done during the last big storm we had. the work they did on our home and a rental property was so professional, customer focused, and timely, that we have asked them to shovel the roofs on both homes this December after the heavy storm dumped so much snow. The crew, once again, was timely, strong in communicating, professional and did an outstanding job. I would like to single out Zac, crew chief, who had the home with the most snow and big , heavy icicles that needed to be carefully removed. Zac keep me appraised of the estimated time it would take, when they reported in and when they finished and was able to answer all of my questions. Mills is a customer focused company who hires employees who are both competent and friendly-great combination.
I highly recommend Mills for any and all of your roofing needs.

Mills installed my new roof in Dec of 2020. There were some minor issue at the roof eaves which was noticed after the install. Turns out to address it , they had to remove half of the roof and re-install a new one. Major cost impact on their side to make a customer happy. I can only highly recommend Mills Roofing, excellent customer service !!

I had Mills Roofing treat my roof with Roof Maxx to extend it's life. They were very professional. They cleaned up everything afterward even wiping down the rain gutters. I would definitely recommend them.

I noticed a small leak from the roof and needed an inspection within 2 days prior to the next snow storm arrived. Mills came, identified several issues, inspected the roof and tighted/replaced loose or missing screws and did a temporary repair that should get me through the winter. They took detailed photos of the roof and explained their recommendation for a permanent inspection in the Spring. Great staff and very positive experience.

Our tenants reported a leak in the roof in January, after the recent storms. We called Mills and they went out as soon as the weather permitted. Ernie was very communicative, he kept us updated from when they arrived and when they assessed the possible damage and as soon as they were done. The kept in contact as much as possible and explained everything in great detail. They were also very efficient with time considering it was an emergency call. Being a homeowner a few hours away with a long term tenant, communication is very important and we absolutely appreciate how quickly they were able to solve the issue.

We've used Mills Roofing at our Truckee home for at least three roofing projects, and their work is fantastic! Highly recommended! They repaired our chimney cap (crushed by excessive snowfall), closed up holes in our eaves from the birds trying to access the attic, and applied a coating to our roof shingles to extend the life of the roof for another 5-10 years. Because this is not our primary home, Mills' turnkey approach was incredibly helpful! Super professional, easy to deal with! Thank you to Mills Roofing!

After a number of heavy winters, we noticed the screws were being pulled out of our metal roof in Tahoe Donner. Called Mills and they had someone doing a site inspection within days. Sent me photos of both roofs (our garage is not attached). Showed me where a few of our vents were crushed or damaged (something which could not be seen from the ground). Got me a quote which I felt was fair. Answered all my questions. Had a crew on the roof and finished a very short time after that. I would certainly call Mills in the future and I will definitely refer them to anyone looking for roofers.

From start to finish, they are in constant contact-particularly important for a second home, when you are not in residence. They guide you through the entire process of a new roof installation. After looking for a roofer in the area for a year, I was so pleased to contract with Mills Roofing to re-roof our house. They were extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. I would highly recommend them.

We first contacted Mills Roofing in July 2019 regarding replacement of our shake roof to a metal roof. At the time they were not giving new quotes because the heavy winter had delayed the start dates for the projects previously scheduled for 2019. I followed their instructions regarding checking back with them monthly, starting in September, to see if they were ready to give new quotes. I understood it would be 2020 before they could do any work for us. We did get a fair quote in the fall and the roof was completely replaced with metal this month (February 2020). Everyone I dealt with (Dawn , Brad & Nathan) was friendly and very helpful. All of our communication was by phone, text or email because we do not live near this property. All my questions were answered promptly and to my satisfaction. The new roof is beautiful, and more importantly, safer.

We had a roof leak and when we called them they were able to take care of it within two days. Other companies either didn't return calls or were not available. Be prepared to pay an upfront deposit. They want to be sure their time is paid for. Roofers are a valuable commodity in this area and if that deposit ensures their quality work, OK with me. We are contracting with them to replace the entire roof later this spring. We asked for estimates from several companies, but their price was in line with the others and our neighbor recommended them. Also their analysis of our roofing needs was much more thorough than others AND there was no hard sell.

Mills roofing came to our rescue when we had an emergency roof leak. From getting a return phone call on a Sunday to completion of extensive repairs over the next few days we could not have been happier. Everyone we dealt with was nice and very helpful. In a day and age when getting a return phone call is a challenge, these guys were a blessing. If you need roof repairs look no further.
