They did an excellent job replacing our windows and we would definitely use them again! The entire process went really smooth. The windows already being tinted is definitely a nice plus.
The guys from Midtown were great...from the project manager to the guys who put the fence in... very pleased with the new fence and the process in general. Communication and updates were great as well.
Zach showed on time. He showed us the differences in the products. We are amazed at the difference of how Midtown home improvements out ranks the others. Impressive quality products. I’m giving Zach a 5 star review because he keeps it honest and explains why they are the best of the best.
We love our new windows & Chris Robertson, the installer, was fantastic - speedy, thorough & conscientious! Our original sales presentation won us over by James McMichael! Overall, Very satisfied!
Bought new siding and a full privacy fence.
Super happy with the material and colors! It took a bit long to get started but once they did it went pretty quick!
Run. Find someone else. Anyone else. You wouldn’t want to read my boring nightmare of a review. You probably wouldn’t even believe it. At one point I thought Ashton Kutcher worked here. I was waiting for him to jump out and tell me I was being punk’d. They got my neighbor, too. They could write a novel about their experience. Trust me. Just RUN!
Editing due to their response.
One word: gutters.
I’d be happy to truthfully list the horrible experience we experienced with midtown. In fact, I wouldn’t even mind sharing the letter I wrote to my attorney. But, i’d rather just be done with this chapter and hopefully save someone else the stress, and frustration. The only person worth mentioning is MICHELLE B. She is literally the only person that has any sort of professional experience associated with her job title. She was the only person that saw her job the entire way through. She is the only person that kept in contact with me. She’s also the only person that was able to get any sort of management to call us back. After weeks and months of trying ourselves. I think the most dumbfounding piece was that MIDTOWN sought us out as customers. You came to MY door, then treated us the way you did. I will never work with anyone that does not do their own work. And even if you cancel with midtown before the work is even started, you still owe them a portion of your contracted bill! I would have forfeited my deposit. But to find out I would have still owed a percentage of what I was going to pay for the work, even with the job being canceled, forced me to have to go through with the headache. Sure, go with midtown, and then run to Walgreens for some Excedrin.
Amazing company. Explained all options within budget, what to expect, and delivered. Highly recommend Midtown Home Improvements. Honest, outstanding craftsmanship, superior products. We use Midtown for all our properties.
Had a new sliding door installed. The guys installing did an awesome job, explained as they went along and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend them.
I had a cover/roof installed over my deck. I was very impressed with the entire process! The installers were very hardworking and knowledgeable and very polite and professional. The office liaison person that kept me updated was friendly and professional. I’m very happy with my completed project, it looks great!
They were easy to work with and provided communication while waiting for the windows to be built. When the day came for the install, the technician was polite and professional and did an excellent job. Left the area clean and my new windows looking fabulous in my home office!
I bought windows in 2020 and in 2021 and I was over sold because these windows let so much heat inside. I got a sales call the other night from your company and ask them to have somebody contact me. I was oversold. I was told these windows wouldn’t let heat in and I was told that my patio door wouldn’t let in heat and would be quieter , everything’s hot and my patio door lets in a lot of noise. I was talking to a friend and she has pella windows and her windows are cool on the inside and mine are really warm. I’m Still having trouble with one of my upstairs windows and I’ve just let it go. Since I got a phone call the other night I thought maybe I’d try and get things corrected again.
Update 7/28.
Thank you for your quick reply to my review. I called the next day and I was transferred to the service desk. I left my name and number and have waited since Thursday to receive a call back. How long much longer am I supposed to wait for a return phone call. Jill
I am super pleased with my new roof!! The whole project was seamless from start to finish, from doing the paperwork and picking out the shingle color, to the tear off and rebuild of my roof. They easily worked with my crazy schedule, and when the workers came they were super nice and respectful of my space. I have a lot of Roses growing close to my house, and they took great care to make sure nothing was damaged. In the end, I have a beautiful new roof, and I highly recommend this company for any home improvement projects.
My family’s experience with Midtown was horrible. We got our fence installed a year ago, and we couldn’t be more disappointed. When we purchased the fence, the salesmen told us the fence wouldn’t break, and that our dogs, specifically our 90lb American Bully, wouldn’t be able to break through it. It took the company multiple months to come out and install the fence, which was a disappointment itself.
In March of this year, the dog broke through the fence. We immediately reached out to Midtown, they told us they were about 6 weeks behind due to storm damage. This was frustrating but we understood. It’s now July, and they finally came out to look at it. In this 4 month time span, the dog ran out, due to the fence still not being fixed, and attacked a kid. Thank you to midtown for taking 4 months to look at our fence, we had to put the dog down. After all this, we got an email saying it would cost US $880 to fix the fence. This is absolutely ridiculous.
I would never recommend this company to anyone for any home improvements.
Zach Kleine with Midtown was exceedingly good to work with. While quite the salesman, all the accolades he stressed on the windows and doors were no exaggerations.
We had our old aluminum-framed sliding glass doors and windows replaced in 2016 with Midtown Legacy³ (Lindsey 'Pinnacle') windows and doors. The 'triple glass krypton low E 366 glass pack technology'. They live up to the 'super' reference! They do an amazing job of separating the inside from the outside and are so smooth operating! Lifetime transferrable warranty! The couple of minor problems we had with the vent limit latches were promptly addressed.
We also had Midtown replace the front door with a Target Window and Door. It has added so much beauty to our entranceway, not to mention the improvement with air infiltration. Very happy with this!
These doors and windows are pricy, but the quality of both the materials and the installation has made us feel that it was money well spent.
In recently going through my files, I came across paperwork from the project estimate that I received from Midtown last year for a replacement deck. My review is not about any work performed, just the high-pressure sales tactics I encountered.
We met at noon that Saturday, August 31. I assumed the time would allow plenty of time for me to make the short drive to a 1:30 wedding, but I got dressed up in my suit beforehand, just to be ready.
A project manager, Askia, met me. He started off with a long presentation to my wife and I. In it, he flipped through a large, worn-looking binder he had that contained all the company honors and acclaim. Weird. After finally hearing what we wanted and going outside for measurements, the estimate started to come together.
From the beginning, not knowing anything about Midtown's product line, we said we wanted a composite deck, seeing how well one has worked for my in-laws. Askia clearly thought our desire was misguided and clearly told us we really needed one of their premium PVC decks instead. He showed us examples to convince us.
Then when the numbers started appearing, it really jumped the shark for me. First, the super high initial number. Then the laundry list of reasons why that number can be cut down. He found out I am a teacher, and more discounts appeared on the page. Flexibility with scheduling? Another way to save some money. Multiple escalating offers throughout the conversation, each time accompanied by scribbles on a page that would be unintelligible moments after the conversation ended. I thought about posting a screenshot of the project estimate page, just to show how ridiculous it is. Just trust me.
Deal of a lifetime, he said. He wasn't even sure he could go that low, but he was willing to take that chance. After a long back and forth, I asked him to give my wife and I some space to talk privately. He went outside to his car. There really wasn't much for my wife and I to talk about, I just needed to get him out of our kitchen. Even if it was Bob Vila himself standing before me, there was no way I was ever going to sign off on a major home improvement project, on the spot, after the very first estimate I received.
Remember, it was Saturday. When I told Askia we would think about it and reach out at the start of the week if we wanted to move forward, he said that wouldn't work because the deal wouldn't be available once he left. When I said no, he had a look of disbelief. He questioned me further. On we went. I finally got him to leave.
By now, it was after 1:30 and I was way late to the wedding. Again, we started this whole thing at noon. Despite my suit, he never asked about any time limitations I may have had. He also never acknowledged my precious daughter, who being two years old frequently required attention from my wife or I. His loss.
Things that happened with Midtown:
1. Inflated initial price + big discounts to sign fast
2. Multiple "lowest possible" offers
3. Emotional & verbal pressure
4. Creating false urgency
On other occasions in the past year...
5. They have knocked on my door, after dinner and almost at dark, to try to drum up business. Just ... no.
Things I wish happened, that didn't:
1. Respond to what I as the customer want, not what you as the salesperson want to sell.
2. Just give me your best price and stick to it. Respect my time.
3. Respect the customer's desire to make an informed, not impulsive, decision.
Again, I have no idea about the quality of their work, but on sales tactics alone, goodbye. The name "Midtown" is also a bit of head-scratcher for me, as they operate out of Wentzville.
To be honest I was completely turned off by how aggressive their sales team were! They were extremely pushy, rude and inconsiderate! For that reason I would never use them. Plus they are way higher than any other company! Don’t allow them into your home because they will spend 2 hours trying to convince you to sign a contract with them. They do not take no for an answer!
Want to give a shout out to Brooks, the Midtown salesperson that came to our house. Brooks was extremely knowledgeable regarding windows, doors and decks. He spent a considerable of time with us and made sure we had no lingering questions. It was a very pleasant experience. Wish there were more salespeople like Brooks.
From the project manager to the production Suprvisor to the two installation crews. They really did a fine job. Last night's storm dumped five inches of rain the gutter system handled it like champ. Especially with an extra downspouts I requested while thet were here
This is the second project that I have had done with Midtown Home Improvements. With both projects, I was very pleased with the results. They were professional and completed the job in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend them for your projects.
Response was overall proactive. Sales expertise in estimating jobs needs improvement. Overall material and execution of works is of the highest quality and standard.
Zach Klein was right on time and his expertise on his material was second to none. He was kind and not pushy for the sale.
Had our kitchen window replaced. They did a great job and the window is wonderful. Zach our salesman was great.
It was a roofing project. Overall we are satisfied. There were a couple of hiccups along the way, but Midtown made sure they were fully resolved before accepting payment. No question that it is a professional organization that does things the right way.
Sutton Smith & Ryan Hove did a fantastic job explaining the products! They were awesome, and can't wait to do my whole house of widows next time!
I am so excited to have a new beautiful deck from Midtown. The team did a fabulous job in 3 days. The team worked very hard on very hot days. They completed the task and were patient with answering my questions and concerns. I am so pleased to sit on my deck in the cool of the day and watch the wildlife in my backyard. THANK YOU!
Midtown did a cover for our deck and we are very happy with it. Communication was very reliable throughout the entire process. Midtown was also able to complete our project earlier than we had expected which is great! We are thoroughly enjoying our deck cover.
We recently had a new door installed by Midtown Home Improvements, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. The product itself is top-notch, very sturdy, well-constructed, and clearly built to last. It has not only improved the security of our home but also added a clean, polished look to the exterior. The product salesman, Joe, was very thorough walking us through the contract while also presenting us with various payment options and timelines.
One of the standout aspects of working with Midtown was their communication. Their online portal made everything easy to track, from scheduling to project updates, and they were always quick to respond to any questions we had. It gave us real peace of mind throughout the process.
Overall, we’re extremely satisfied with both the quality of the door and the professionalism of the Midtown team. Highly recommend them for anyone looking to upgrade their home!
Great service, was finished quickly and when there was a mistake, the crew was honest with me and worked with me to make it right
Had a wonderful experience from everyone included in the development of my new deck!! Vicente and his crew were amazing!! Couldn’t have asked for better!! Tim was great with communication updates and Jason had a great consultation!! Will use them for future updates.
Truly wonderful experience from sales appointment, deck install, and customer service. Everyone kept us informed and always followed up on any questions. Highly recommend Midtown Home Improvenents
The sales person was that they sent out to my neighborhood was extremely unprofessional and downright disrespectful. My neighborhood is known for not allowing solicitors and when I told the salesman this, so that he was aware. Not everyone knows about it and not everyone in the neighborhood is nice to solicitors. It was a courtesy and the salesman then insulted us and our house. When I do eventually get new windows, sidings, roofing, etc it will not be from them.
From the beginning stages of planning, through blueprint approvals and Wildwood compliance requirements, Mid Town Home Improvements provided excellent communication and service. Construction began on time with workers who were extremely professional. They were exacting in their construction and worked efficiently every day. We very happy with our beautiful new deck. We highly recommend Mid Town Home Improvement.
Midtown was very friendly and walked us through everything. The job was done before the time frame they suggested and they got it done quickly! Would definitely use them again and refer them to others!
Midtown was great to work with and we are very happy with our fence. Our salesman was very nice and patient with us making a decision. Ultimately we decided to do it because of the quality promised and the warranty. It was an easy process as Midtown took care of all permitting/surveying and utility marking also. It if course is not cheap, but we are happy with our decision. The work crew was great also.
We called for a free estimate, Zach showed up on time with lots of options and pictures to make it easy for us to figure out what we want or need for a deck, and how to make it ready for future improvements, like a sun room.
While we are just getting started with a total home rehab. Kevin has been amazing and walking us through. Absolutely everything that is going to be going on every step of the way. Unlike other contractors in the past, this company has been absolutely transparent and amazingly easy to talk to!
Great material quality, but subcontractors seem pretty hit or miss.
Got a new front door and back door from them a couple years ago, the back door is amazing! Front door has had problems since day 1 due to sloppy installation, and every time they came out to "fix it" it was a band aid solution. We can still clearly see daylight around the door, all they did was install glue in foam ramps. Hard to open/close because it was rubbing the frame they put in? Foam ramps, and utterly destroy the cutout for the latch so it'll fit and lock. Initial install left a sharp overhang on the indoor trim? Not covered under the warranty after the first year, should have had them fix it earlier even though we put in the request and the installers just didn't do the repair. Door isn't going to last 10 years, I'd be surprised if it lasts another 2 based on how bad it rubs. Whole Lotta money wasted, but at least the backdoor looks good.
If you're going to use them, make sure babysit the installers and be difficult otherwise the install quality might not be there. It's a shame, because the product quality is absolutely there, but the installers just absolutely blew it on the front door.
We had a couple windows replaced with Midtown, and the results speak for themselves! With our previous windows, there was a huge temperature disparity in our bedroom, very hot in the summer and icy in the winter compared to the hallway. The windows were installed right before the big heatwave, and I couldn't be happier! A few weeks ago we were dropping the A/C to 68 at night to try to manage the temp in the room, which was at least 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. Now, it is set to 72 and its cooler in there than in the hallway! Love it!!! Midtown is quite professional, and they were very accommodating with our budget. I love that this company honors our country's finest, being veteran owned and operated, they make a point of hiring many veterans... God bless you all, and thank you for your service!
Excellent workmanship, they left the work area spotless, arrived within the scheduled period, and quality materials replacing several thermal windows. Great job!
They quoted me for a fence for $40k. Dude just made up a number and wrote it down and had a terrible sales pitch. Said they were "only making 2% profit" yeah right got 2 other quotes that came in at $15k for the same fence, same footage. Avoid this company for fencing projects
Shady stayway from this place. Door to Doors sales men try to lock poor people into contract then screw them over when they. Even though the first contract was changed and the second one wasn't signed they still processed the non refunable down payment of 4k. Shady as they come!!!!
Midtown did a great job with my new deck. So easy to work with. They are very knowledgeable. They worked with me to get exactly what I wanted. The installers were professional, personable and did an amazing job. They did a great job at cleaning up as well. I highly recommend Midtown for any home project.
Excellent local, family & Vet Owned Organization! Work crew was efficient & outstanding in work quality! Would recommend without reservations!
Curtis was top of the line and went through all the information with care and answered all of me and my grandparents questions! I know we made a great decision going with Midtown Home Improvement!
Zach Kleine was on time, very good product, as far as our transaction i was comfortable conversing with him felt like i can trust him
I signed a contract for a new roof. I was given a discount if I agreed to several promotions, which I did. A few days latter the salesman returned and said I needed 3 more bundles of shingles.
This was after someone came to look at the roof. So the discount I was given was then taken away. I was back to the original price.
The workers did a great job and the clean up was exceptional.
No one from the company ever asked me about the promotions I agreed to. It's been 2 weeks. I have no idea if I needed the extra shingles or the company just wanted their money back.
Midtown was fantastic! From start to finish, had no issues what so ever! Came have us a quote and the Roof was on within a week! And that looks fabulous and completed in day! Very very satisfied, would recommend for all your home improvements!
Askia came to my home promptly for an estimate. He was so professional and represented Midtown very well! They are a wonderful company with a great track record.
Midtown has been to our new construction home 5 times soliciting in the last 18 months. We met with a sales guy in January, who was terrible in his pushy sales pitch. There was no quote left to numbers but discounts and adjustment, but somehow started off at $45k and got down to $28k for a deck. Again, someone rang our door bell last night. It should be noted someone met us, and NO ONE should be knocking on my door.
Edit to add - since there is no record of us, we met with James McMichael, in the evening on Tuesday January 28.
We've enjoyed working with Midtown HI from discussing the project of our new roof all the way through installation. The roofers did an excellent job. They picked up and removed all debris and were finished in one day. It looks so great and we're very happy.
Zach Kleine was a pleasure to work with. Very personable, friendly, gave great advice. On time and showed the product differences. Very appreciative.
Zach Kleine was on time, clean, professional, and well mannered. Verified size of fencing and walked thru any questions that we had.
Communication on any home project is important. This company is on the ball with that. I had no trouble reaching someone when I had a question or needed to change something. They make the project process very easy.
My mom had been sick for several years and unable to keep up with projects for the house. An encounter with a young lady at my door one evening changed my mom's life. I had moved in with her to help due to declining health. When this person came to the door it was a weight off my shoulders. She scheduled me with a sales rep that evening! When Jade came, he was prepared for all my questions and all of mom's too. She became very tired and went to lie down. Jade let me carry selection cards back an forth for her input. It was great and I had a totally new roof with gutters and a brand new back door planned. Pictures are the roof and gutters plus a closer look at shingles.
Everything went exceptionally well...including moving up my roof replacement when my turbine vents were blown off in a storm and couldn't be replaced. It was a windy day and insulation was everywhere since I had to replace decking for roof too. I called, they sent a crew immediately that cleared that up too.
11 out of 10 stars ! See for yourself!
They were very organized and professional, very mindful of our dogs throughout the whole process, loved how personal and customizable the whole process was!
Midtown did an amazing job on my deck! They were fast and efficient. And my deck is beautiful! I would recommend them to anyone.
Just got my new windows and front door installed and I couldn't be happier. The products seem to be excellent and the crew that did the installation were hard working and skilled at their profession.
I would give zero stars if I could. I bought a front entry door from Midtown. My husband is disabled and had trouble using the old one. I. In spite of emphasizing the importance of this, Midtown made it impossible for him to use the new front door at all. I have contacted them multiple times, someone comes to look at and I don't hear from them again. I thought I was using a reputable company, I am so disappointed that they have such little disregard for their customers needs.
Sutton was very professional, brought high quality samples, and gave my wife and I a great understanding of their options. Can’t wait to see the final product.
Deck was started and finished in 2-1/2 days!
(we have no HOA and had no tear down)
Absolutely beautiful work. Ryan and the office employees are amazing and the crew was polite, respectful and cleaned up everything after completion. I highly recommend Midtown for your needs. You will NOT be disappointed. They are a AMAZING company.
Communication was good with the office personnel. Communication lacked notifying me when the installers were to arrive to work on the deck.
Very professional. Work was done quickly and done perfect! We are very pleased with the end result and will use Midtown in the future!
What a great experience we have had with getting our deck replaced. Nici, Nick, and the installers all did an excellent job in their prospective areas. We are so happy to be using our deck again.
We got new windows. Overall a positive experience. We went for quality and got what we paid for. There were expected issues like window sizes not matching and screens not fitting. It's not a huge deal, but does add weeks of time and effort to the fix. They don't hack windows. If it's wrong, they'll reorder and there is an expected wait. In all circumstances the company was responsive from people working in our home to corporate types. I am quite satisfied, but can't wait for the last few service items to be complete.
Sales person made it seem like it would just be a free quote that they would come out and do, not a whole sales pitch. The 2 salesmen that came by the next day were at my house from 730PM-930PM on a Friday night and would not take no for an answer. One of them seemed to back off a bit, but the other started to act upset after we had said "we would like to think about it" for the 5th time. Extremely pushy and not respectful of boundaries.
Tried to get a quote on a roof. Told the guy that’s all I need. He was very short, told me he would call me and left after taking measurements from the ground. I get a call the next day saying I requested a reschedule, which I did not. They also stated that both me and my wife have to be present for an hour when I am the homeowner. I would not recommend this place to anyone after these 2 interactions. If you need a roof or a deck find a company that specializes in one of them and doesn’t demand mandatory 1 hour sales pitches.
We had a wonderful quote/consultation last night with Curtis. He was very knowledgeable about the fence products and the company history. He was very patient with us and explained everything in great detail. We are very happy with our decision in choosing Midtown to build our fence and look forward to working with them!
Took longer than anticipated to get the drawings, but after we got the HOA approval the deck was installed within 2 weeks. They finished the job quickly with excellent quality.
There were several 'bumps" in the road along the way but ultimately the project was finished to our satisfaction. Thankfully we didn't have a fixed date to have the work completed. Couldn't get the color of the soffit we originally selected. Initial door hardware and electronic dead bolt was not correct. Columns were not initially ordered with the majority of the materials so that caused an additional 2 week delay. However, the workers were very competent and kept us informed during the installation, cleaned up after themselves and did a very good job.
Nick was our inhome salesperson, he was so knowledgeable and knew the answer to all of our questions. He was both personable and professional, he was very thoughtful and thoughal. His attitude was so great and product demonstration really was so good. Thank s Midwest can't wait to see my finished results. What an awesome experience no pressure just facts.
We used these amazing people just this month to replace 7 windows on our first floor and they where amazing. They where very professional and fast front the first visit to the finished install, that they did in one day in a few hours. highly recommend love them.
Anthony came over today to give us a free estimate. We found him as professional as can be. We were so impressed with his presentation!! If we have anything done we are sold on this company!!
It been real easy real good products fast installed enjoying now I got my dog and know she won't get out and most of all it won't turn green in my wet area
They did a great job. Even though I did not need the job completed quickly it was finished same day. Roof looks great.
Just don’t do it. Anyone is better.
Pre-covid, they installed our deck. The project was unfinished for years, and they processed our loan anyways without our sign off. So the magical warranty they promise you doesn’t last so long because they decide when the project is done and when the warranty starts.
They continually dodge calls to avoid having to fix anything to uphold that warranty. I had to call a salesman to schedule a quote just to trap them into talking to me again.
Against my better judgement, my wife convinced me they weren’t so bad and we had a siding job done by them. That project is also unfinished (missing a downspout for our gutter system) and now needs repairs again. They also dodge calls for this.
All the while, they walk our neighborhood and hawk people for more projects. Those salesmen are not welcome on my property again, and their technicians are only allowed if they fix their own mistakes.
The products they use are great. The service is the worst. The left hand is not talking to the right.
Edit 5/19/25: trying to get them to repair siding under warranty… but the warranty doesn’t cover parts or labor. Do not fall for this company.
Edit: immediately after build I gave a 5 star review for how the deck looked. Now that it's been about a year I am updating to a lower star review.
I was told at build that we needed to seal the deck within 4 weeks as the cedar was almost completely dried. We followed this advice, but noticed that within a month the deck was becoming bleached and we noticed mold/mildew forming on surfaces. We contacted Midtown about this and it took over a month to get any reply from the deck department. No one ever came out; they looked at our photos and said the dark spots were completely normal and not mold/mildew and that we tried to seal too early, so they were not liable for any repairs or remediation. We are going to have a professional come out this year to clean and try to seal again with a tinted sealant so that it might look like cedar again. Totally disgusted with their customer service after the builds are done.
Reid and Damon did a great job on our deck build. Definitely not the cheapest deck on offer across companies, but the quality looks great.
