I asked Doug for an estimate on some work we would potentially be needing done on a house we were looking at buying. He told me he was familiar with doing FHA 203k work, and he came out and looked at the house with us. Because of the situation (needing to know how much the work would cost in order to be able to put in an offer on the house), I made sure he was aware that we were on a time crunch, while still understanding that he can't just snap his fingers and instantly have the numbers for us. He said he'd get the numbers to us by early the next week. Well, I called him that Thursday and he said he'd "start working on it." Then I waited again until the following week and called again just to check on how it was going, and he said he'd get me the numbers that afternoon. I never heard from him again. We decided to go with a different company, so fingers crossed we can get the estimates we need in time to get this house before someone else buys it.
