My experience with getting a metal carport from MaxSteel was not a good one. I was sold on getting the best and it’s far from it. I want to make sure everyone knows the process and what to watch out for. I purchased this carport through Portable Buildings & More but the main issues were with the shipping and install. The process is you design what you are wanting with PB&M and then give them a down payment. From there you’ll be working with multiple ppl from MaxSteel to schedule the installation of your building. I ordered a 44’ wide x 25’ deep carport that was enclosed on 3 sides. As soon as they started the install, I started questioning the work and for good reason. After the install I invited the owners of PB&M over and asked if they would be happy with the final product. They agreed that many things were wrong and together we put a decent sized list of repairs together and sent it to MaxSteel. These issues included- My building was not 44’ wide, roof structure was installed incorrectly causing buckles in the metal sheeting and trim, missing hardware, damaged metal from shipping/ install, trim was not installed correctly, clusters of screw holes all over the place, etc.. After we sent the list and pictures to MaxSteel, they identified that some structural braces weren’t even installed and the building was missing pieces of trim on the front. MaxSteel agreed to come out and make repairs and install the missing pieces. I wasn’t able to be home the day they came and completed the repairs but upon inspecting it that evening, it looks like they only installed the structural braces and trim pieces that were missing. Overall, I wasn't impressed with MaxSteel. I feel I paid a premium price for a subpar product.

Max steel is by far the best dealings I've had in a long time. Very professional, very to the point, and definitely get the job done and done correctly the first time. My husband and i have been burnt by (titan metal structures) in the past, so we were a little worried. MAX STEEL is amazing and we'll definitely use them again. Thank you Max Steel for taking such great pride in your work and your people.

Don't bet on this. They are out at my place today installing a building. They asked before they came out if there was rock. We told them yes. So they brought a battery-operated drill and a bit that was of no value. Then, when they were unable to install it properly, they told me it was my responsibility to secure it.
Then they tried to tell me their note says there is no rock.

My first experience with them was better, but this time they have lied to me, and there is nowhere in the contract that states they won't drill into rock.

And don't try to talk to the installers—unless you speak Spanish.

Now I have to hire someone to do their job!

Max Steel office personnel worked patiently and professionally with my custom measurements and details to provide a positive customer experience. I am very pleased with the final product and the labor crew worked with my custom requirements. Highly recommend !

I am very pleased with my carport that I ordered and had installed at my home. The company gave me great notice prior to having it installed. I was given instructions on how to mark my area, because i wasn't going to be there, and they followed it perfectly. Hernando kept me informed about the delivery of my shed, as far as times any changes or updates regarding it. He was very professional, kind and courteous. I would definitely recommend this company.

I used MaxSteel for a carport. The sales representative adjusted the size dimensions perfectly for the intended space. I was counseled to the roofing options and made the decision along with color to match the theme in surrounding structures. The installation team was punctual and extremely precise and efficient. They leveled the carport perfectly with telescoping legs to adjust for a slight ground incline. They completed the project in 2 hours, picked up any unused items and left for their next installation. I will use MaxSteel again and will recommend them to neighbors, family and friends. Thank you again for a great seamless experience!

3 guys showed up at 8:30 pm they called to see if it was ok, they had the building up and was gone at 10:30PM, we are very happy

I was satisfied with the building once it was completed. My complaint is with the builders and the amount of time it took to correct mistakes. There were not enough corner panels sent with the initial setup. It took close to a month to have this corrected. My door wouldn't close all the way and that took three more weeks. Screws were left all over my driveway. There was no attempt to properly clean up. We have been finding screws for a month. I asked them to remove the 3% credit card fee to compensate for my wasted time. They refused to do so.

These guys are awesome! Alberto let us know what was going on and answered all our questions. They had it up quick and were very professional. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Highly recommend MaxSteel. Our job in Unicoi, TN was finished last night and we are thrilled. I've never seen two harder working men. The installers worked through the storm and up into the night. I never once saw them take a break or talking on cell phones. Two men had the 30x40 building up in 16 hours. When completed they cleaned everything up and walked around with us to inspect it. They didn't waste a minute of time and were friendly and very professional. Outstanding work!

After ordering and paying a deposit, I was contacted by Max Steele to receive a delivery date. The three workers were on time, worked very diligently, and completed the entire installation in just over 1 hour.

Super easy process, great pricing, quality material, above and beyond hard working installers (A+++ installers—-hand carried all the material up my steep driveway 300 ft as truck/trailer couldn’t maneuver sharp turns)! Highly recommend!!!

We went to the local representative company which provides buildings and carport covers by Max Steel. Local Representative is Campers Unlimited in Ooltewah, Tennessee: Shelly Hood was our representative. Our neighbor had previously purchased a carport cover from them and was pleased with it, and so were we.

We were able to take the photos needed to show our property, and made an affordable down payment. Our building was scheduled pretty quickly.

It was thrilling to finally get our building installed. When the three young men came up, they were all about the business and all three worked very professionally and got the job done efficiently and faster than we thought they would. We sat outside and watched them like for afternoon entertainment. Their installation was amazing! We highly recommend Campers Unlimited of Ooltewah, Max Steel and their three talented representatives who did a fabulous job to our complete satisfaction.

The building looks good, and the builders built it very fast. However, they were very late to arrive, originally saying they would arrive at 10:30am, then 2:00pm, and they did not actually show until 5:00pm. They were done before dark, so that was no big deal. However, what causes me to leave such a low review is that the builders left so much trash in our driveway. We have a dumpster very close, so I don’t understand why they didn’t throw it away. I cleaned it up. But what was worst of all, is they left at least 50 loose screws all in our gravel driveway. I have been gradually picking them up, but I keep finding more every time I go back. I am so worried to drive on my driveway because of all of the screws. I would like some kind of assurance that this will never happen again and compensation for having to clean up after their mess.

The building quality is great. The workers did great. would be 5 stars but i was unaware of the trash they would be leaving until the day before. It was way more than expected also. I would still buy again.

Purchased a 20x22 carport. The installation crew of 3 had it fully installed in 3 hours. I’m very happy with my MaxSteel purchase. They communicated well during the manufacturing process and clearly explained how my site needed to be prepped for a smooth install.

The customer service was outstanding. They followed up after my initial order, calling periodically to check on the status of my building site. When I was ready, they scheduled the work and had my building up quickly.

Had my carport installed today, a day early. Cesar called me this morning 11/7/2024 to let me know who would be coming out to install the carport. What to expect and little clean up on my part. Was out today. Came home and to my surprise my carport was put up. An amazing beautiful job. My husband had steaked out the driveway and they positioned it perfectly. No mess to clean up. Just a little plastic about enough to fill a small trash bag. I was glad I had a few old stepping stones to level the carport. It's 18x20. Brian and his crew did an amazing job. We have always wanted a carport and now have been able to afford one. I hope their bosses give them a lunch out or something nice. Thanks again Max Steel for your great people.

the quality, time, and servases are what was expected, however a one of my doors was not installed and the workers said they would have to return another day, to install.

Timely install, guys completed the job in 1.5 days, were fast and efficient. Job site was in Maryville TN. Would recommend to anyone looking to get the job done quickly. From booking to install took 3 weeks.

Very happy with the second MaxSteel dealer I contacted she found me more discounts than Roosters in Elijay Ga and did not hound me for the purchase. I gave four stars because the contracted crew that installed it could have taken more time and care to pick up there mess around the building and leave a neat pile and the screws they left laying around been four days and we are still picking them up! no flats yet.

MaxSteel Buildings did a great job installing my 2 car garage with one roll-up door and one remote-control door. The installation was timely. I am very pleased with the construction, assembly, and price. The service department was friendly, efficient, and regularly communicated with me before, during, and after installation. I highly recommend MaxSteel Buildings.

Great experience all around. The installers were fast and very experienced. Peace of mind is how well it was anchored in the ground. Would definitely recommend.

The crew was friendly and courteous, worked steadily and gathered the scrap material and placed it in pile where I specified and the work was well done!

Very satisfied with my MaxSteel carport. The whole purchasing process was easy and seamless. The installation crew was very professional and had the carport installed in about an hour and a half.

Short version....if I was MaxSteel I would be embarrassed to provide this type of product and customer service.
I had enough problems that a Service Order was created to fix them. One piece of metal was so scratched up it looked like it was dragged through a parking lot. After a couple of weeks they sent the sub contractors out to fix the issues. They did not bring the correct color metal sheets with them or the correct color paint for touching up the scratches. They said it would be a couple of weeks to get the correct metal and get back out there. At this point I was tired of dealing with it so I told them just come back the next day with the correct touch up. They came back and touched up the spots but they used the wrong color paint. I told MaxSteel to just drop off the correct color paint pens so i could do it myself. The next week, and without any communication back from them, two paint pens showed up in my mail box. So after 4 times of them coming to my house I ended up with scratched up metal that was touched up with the wrong color paint. I would highly recommend not using MaxSteel. I never got an apology for having to deal with all this and each time I talked to them on the phone they acted like they didn't want to deal with my issues. Seems like a company that wants to crank out as many projects as they can to concentrate more on money than the customer.

All the reviews, good or bad, I read are true meaning like most companies MaxSteel sub contracts their installations out so your over all experience will come from how good the sub contractors are. I noticed some of the metal sheets were scratch up in places. Some looked like they could have came from the manufacture like that and some could have came from the installers laying the metal sheets on my gravel driveway before install. There was a lot of dust, dirt and some rust on the metal too. They used black screws on the top white roof trim pieces when they should have used the color matching white screws I paid for. Not sure why schedulers call you if MaxSteel says sub contractors can show up whenever they want. MaxSteel does not come to your site so, if needed, you will need to stay on top of the installers. Always do a walk through after install and, like most projects, just put a deposit down instead of paying full payment upfront so you can make sure things are done properly before full payment. Another take away I had is MaxSteel could do a better job of communicating to their customers. Most people at MaxSteel seemed nice on the phone but some of them could have been more customer friendly. There are a ton of metal building companies out there so be sure to shop around.

My experience with Max Steel has been the most excellent experience I have ever had as far as hiring someone to build something or fix something for me. After purchasing from a local dealer, I was constantly updated on the progress of my building. Even after experiencing "Snowmageddon 2024" (Which shut down everything for almost 10 days) for my area and Max Steel's hometown,my project was still completed in less than 30 days. Their install crew was very professional and worked to make sure i was completely satisfied with my project. The crew leader was a perfectionist, like myself and too great care to make sure my building was perfectly level, plum, and square even though it was installed on gravel. I'm definitely looking forward to working with them again in the near future on another project I have planned for my home.

I bought a 20x20 carport 3 years ago, great deal for the money, I had my cement pad ready, the did a great job setting it up, im ready to buy a second car port

They installed an 18x40x12 foot rv shelter to replace the previous one that was destroyed in a storm. They did an outstanding job. 2 nan crew had it finished in 5 hours and it looks better than the original. Would highly recommend them.

I was misrepresented the doors. They don’t install garage doors. They use storage doors instead. They also left the building with a black film on it. I talked to the customer service supervisor and he told me to clean it myself. I informed him I have an amputation and couldn’t. He told me that that was just the way it is in construction. I could understand some dirt. They got the money and don’t care after their sales pitch was they would do what they could to make sure everything is right. I would not use them at all. Please find a better company.

Ordered a 14'x14' carport from MaxSteel through Southern Sheds. When I paid the deposit I was told it would be 3-5 weeks. When I checked at 4 weeks they acted like they didn't even have my order. At roughly 7.5 weeks they finally installed it. The day after installation we got a good rain and discovered they had incorrectly lapped a roof panel which made this brand new roof leak! I contacted MaxSteel directly, at least half a dozen times over two weeks, and they could not even give me an estimated date that they could come fix it. I had to hire my roofer to come fix it. Not impressed. Do not recommend. I spoke to April several times. She told me she could not even give me an estimated repair date. The photo I posted is the same one I sent in to the number provided. My roofer confirmed it was improperly installed and fixed it. We have purchased other structures from southern sheds so this was an unexpectedly disappointing situation. We will be using someone else for our next structure.

The guys that came out and installed our building were very professional and great craftsmanship. They had our 10x25 carport done in 45 mins from start to finish. I will be calling Max Steel again when I’m ready to build my garage!!

We DO NOT Recommend MaxSteel Buildings. The Carport we ordered was fine, however, the workmanship and trash left behind was less than satisfactory. Carport was installed not square with the driveway even after instructions to the installers to move it. They Spoke very little english. They also left behind trash and a box of screws that were scattered over our driveway. It is also not anchored within the contract as you can see from the photos. They refused to anchor it while installing. We were unable to park our vehicles due to fear of punctured tires. Called and ask they send someone out And little to no response so far. Be very careful of their contract.

Workers kept me informed when they would be at home and was very professional even after long day in heat. Helped me decide exactly where I wanted it and even let me back truck under carport before anchors were installed. Cleaned up after completing job and asked if I was pleased with carport. Couldn’t ask for more pleasant process. Would highly recommend MaxSteel to everyone for their carport and installation of them.

Great job by MaxSteel, they put up a carport for me. Size 21 x 23 x 6. They were on time, cleaned up when finished. Answered all my questions. MaxSteel is the way to go.

This company did an excellent job installing my building and the quality is excellent!!!! The crew called first, was on time, polite, professional, and courteous. My building looks excellent, and I am so happy it's here! I did have to borrow a magnetic bar and get a lot of screws out of the grass, but I didn't mind a bit. My daughter saw them pulling a magnetic bar, but I guess it wasn't strong enough to pull screws out of thick grass (over 40 of them). Thank you MaxSteel!!!

I wish I could upload a video with my review as others will understand this screenshot I took from the video I shot the day of my carport installation. Here in Tennessee, thunderstorms can pop up anytime during the summer months. The day of installation this part of Tennessee had a heightened severe weather forecast. I called the overseer Cesar to see if they wanted to reschedule installing my METAL carport. He stated his workers are USED to working in this type of weather. He also stated they would call me 30 mins before arrival. The date of installation I was in town and got a call from Cesar stating his workers were at my home and where was I. I stated to him that he advised that I would be called 30 mins before arrival. I headed back to my house and they were there. Looking towards the west one could see the dark, blackish green clouds coming in. I tried communicating with the workers that storms were coming and that they needed to be safe. They understood NO English at all and there was no one within the crew who understood English or they played me, which does occur. I went inside and proceeded to watch them install my METAL carport during a wicked thunderstorm with 50 mile an hour front winds and cloud to ground lightening. This screenshot comes from the video where you can hear the thunder and see the flashes of lightening. The next day I called TN OSHA and in a nutshell the customer service agent stated that this happens all the time, that they field complaints like this on a daily basis for these types of workers. It breaks my heart that our companies abuse these people, knowing that they will work in all kinds of dangerous situations. If something had happened to this man his family and friends would have had ZERO recourse with the company and probably wouldn't file a complaint because of their immigration status. I do not recommend MaxSteel just because they have ZERO respect for their fellow man and abuse their fellow man based on their immigration status. The carport is great though and has held up through a few more of our TN storms since installation. Just go somewhere else to get your carport or other items this company peddles.

The guys who came and installed our new building, did a fantastic job. They were very professional, polite and fast.

We purchased a 28x48 cover for our RV. From the sale to the installation, everything went smoothly. We needed engineered drawings for our permit, which were quickly sent to us. Once we had the permit, the install date was set. The crew was very professional and worked diligently to get the cover built, despite the Florida storms we had off and on for the entire two days. We're so happy to have our RV under cover and out of the hot Florida sun. I highly recommend MaxSteel Buildings.

We were very, very pleased with Max Steel buildings. They gave an installation date and was here right on time. Tge three guys installing were wonderful, very hard workers. We couldn5 have been happier!!!!

We just purchased a 24x30 carport. From customer service, to the installation it has been an amazing procedure. The guys that came out and installed the building worked non stop and was very impressive. They were very nice and worked very hard to get the building up in a timely fashion. We were very impressed with everything about this experience.

My advice is to stay away from them.

It has now been a year and half. My structure had leaks from day one, when insulating I found hole after hole where they had ran screws in and missed the hat channel... no patch no nothing.

Simply a terrible experience with MaxSteel Buildings. I ordered a carport through one of their local dealers in Glasgow, KY. I waited a month for installation. That was fine as I was told it would be 3 to 6 weeks for installation in my area. When they arrived at my residence to install the carport they begin unloading some of the parts needed for installation. Before erecting the carport I noticed the foreman on the phone talking to someone. I asked if there was a problem and he said they didn't have all the necessary parts to erect my carport. They then loaded back up the parts they had just unloaded and drove off. To say I was disturbed by this experience is an understatement. I want nothing to do with MaxSteel and am cancelling my order. I realize I will lose my deposit for the carport by cancelling but that is small price to pay as I have no confidence these people know what they are doing.

Edit: Please note the response from Max Steel. That is a blatant lie as they did not complete any job for me - ever! I intend on contacting the BBB where this company is located because of their falsified response to my negative Google review. It simply boggles my mind a company can get away with such shenanigans.
