First Review - 5 Stars - August 2020: (Please see below for my second review.)

I had a great experience working with Maximus Roofing Contractors, LLC. I was in need of a roof inspection and minor repairs in preparation for the sale of my home. I had a deadline to have the work completed for the closing date and needed assistance quickly. They got the roof inspection, repairs, and written inspection report done for me in a timely fashion.

Lenny helped me as soon as I called in and got me linked with one of their roofers right away. Lenny was kind, helpful, efficient, patient, supportive, and understanding each time I spoke with her. Todd came to inspect my roof and he was helpful, efficient, and courteous. Liz, the owner, was wonderful to work with as well. She clearly cares about her customers and the quality of the work she provides to them and goes the extra mile to ensure the best job is being done. The two gentlemen (I don’t know their names), who came to the property to complete the repair work, arrived 15 minutes early and were respectful, quick, and efficient.

Thank you!!

Second Review - 1 Star - March 2021 -

After having a positive experience in August 2020, I contacted Maximus Roofing on 1/21/2021 to request an estimate for gutter replacements and gutter guards. I was told that the owner was out of the office and would return in an hour and give me a call back to set up an appointment. I called back on 1/22/2021 after not hearing back the previous day and was unable to get through. I later learned that the office admin was out of the office so I called back again on 1/25/2021 and was again told that the owner was out of the office at a job site but would be back soon and would give me a call to arrange an appointment to assess my gutter needs and give me a estimate for the work.

It is now 3/22/2021 and I have not heard back from Maximus Roofing simply to set up an appointment for an estimate. Since I had a positive experience with them in 2020, I had intended on hiring them and all I needed was a call back.

I have since received an estimate from another company and have hired them to the tune of several thousand dollars. That is money that would have gone to Maximus Roofing had I received a return call. Eventually, I'll need a new roof and now I know I'll need to find another company for that job when the time comes. That's disappointing as I prefer to support companies that I've had positive experiences with in the past but this recent experience has let me know that I can't count on them.

I understand that companies are busy and their customers, such as myself, are busy as well, so having to hunt down a company to give them my money is something I no longer wish to do. There are many companies out there offering similar services and it only takes "dropping the ball" once to ensure that I not only no longer hire them for my needs but that I also no longer recommend them to others. I had recommended them to several people after my first positive experience and now I only hope that those people do not have the experience I had with not even getting a return call or an appointment for an estimate.

Customer service and follow up is critical.

I had my roof replaced in 2018, when I reached out, Los responded immediately, explained the process, assisted me with my insurance claim and the crew did a fantastic job. After the job was done, it was like they were never here. We are very satisfied with Maximus and would highly recommend them .

I will try to keep this short... We needed a new roof and we looked around a few months prior and then stopped. I decided to give it a go again and ended up giving Maximus a shot. I was already slightly annoyed by a few people who attempted to quote the job for their lack of attention to details. I did already have another LARGE company I was considering, but I purposely reached out to her because I saw she was a women owned business and I was intrigued. She knew her stuff and she was passionate about her business which sold me in the few moments of us speaking (even though she didn't know that). Me, being a small business owner myself, knew that sometimes you just need a chance to show what you are made of. Her crew did a GOOD job, as nobody is perfect. Small things like a few cigarette butts left in my yard, a few pieces of materials left from the job, like I said...small stuff. You could tell Liz had some punctuality issues whether from being short staffed, busy, or both....she still would eventually get back to you via call, text or email. Overall they did quality work for a reasonable price. We talked alot and I voiced my few concerns, but everything worked out. Thanks for everything and we appreciate you. Keep striving!

I contacted Maximus when I had a leak in my 15 yr old roof. They showed up to assess the cause of the leak within 24 hours of my call and were able to repair the leak within another 24 hours. Liz showed me pictures of the issues on the roof and explained what was necessary to repair. I found Liz to be very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone needing a new roof or repair.

We called Maximus Roofing and spoke with Liz Torres the owner. She came out on the same day. She was very informative and provided lots of details on the entire process. After a couple of estimates from other companies we went with Liz. Her prices were fair and warranty was unbeatable. Let me tell you we picked a good one. Her crew did an excellent job cleanup and all. She managed the entire process start to finish. Thank you Liz for everything!

Liz Torres with Maximus Roofing was hired to do our roof installation. We felt comfortable hiring her to replace our roof because she was not like the other 2 competitors that came out. She was not pushy, she gave all of the information we needed and simply told us to call her after we looked over everything. The entire process was exactly as she had told us. No surprises at all. Crew was very efficient and clean up was ongoing during the entire installation. Definitely recommend her and her company. Trust me you can't go wrong.

The crew that came out and performed the job were awesome. Although only one spoke english partially, they were friendly, and professional. The manager Ms. Torres explained how the crew were all here in the U.S. legally on work visa's. Honestly, I prefer this crew as they worked very hard, no complaints and as I had mentioned earlier, they were so polite.

This roofing company completely destroyed my house. The contractor walked away 9 months into my contract and refused to fix the roof and siding they installed. They broke 19 storm windows. My roof leaks my siding is sagging. They replaced and wrapped 5 columns on my porch. They are all skewed and the wrapping is being eaten away because they used salt treated lumber. I was told that I had a long warranty, but they didn’t even honor the two year warranty that was stated in my contract.

Service questions

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
