I had to call them 9 AM on Sunday morning and they called back at 9:30. They were here at 10:30 prompt & professional and affordable with it being on a Sunday highly recommended this business

Excellent service from Mathis’s technician. He found the issue quickly, replaced the part at a fair price and then went the extra mile and did a health check in our system and found low on Freon. We are very satisfied.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY. They came out to our house three times to fix a problem and still didn’t fix it. Actually made the problem worse. So when I called and told them to come fix the issue, he refused and told us that we would be charged again!!

My air conditioning stopped working on a Friday night after 100 plus day, I called them the next day and a technician came out and fixed it. He was very courteous and professional.

They are not to be trusted. They padded my churches bill by over $1000. They checked system said it was 8lbs low. Said its a leak. Performed a leak chec and said it was in coils. The guy told me it holds 10lbs of freon @$82 lb. They sent me an estimate for $3300. No breakdown whatsoever only the final price. I told them I needed a breakdown of parts and labor etc. 2 weeks later they give me sorta breakdown that math didn't even add up. They were charging $1382 for freon that should be $820 which 500 over. Then even after adding all parts$1000 labor $400 freon $1382 and $100 for brazing parts. It added to $2900 still estimate for $3300. I texted and emailed asking why the extra 500 for freon and $400 unaccounted for and $100 miscellaneous. Never got a response got 2 other estimates for $2100 not $3300. So they are charging us for estimate $127.. they figured it was a church they just wanted it fixed so they could pad the bill. Do not use or trust them. If they try to deny this on here. I will post both of the estimates or if anyone wants them I will email or text it to you. I will send both the original with no breakdown just $3300 and the 2nd one I got 2 weeks later with a breakdown that the math don't even match up. DO NOT TRUST OR DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I pray that they get right with GOD and stop being dishonest to customers. Use Southern Breeze ask for Ron they will do you right and very honest trustworthy guys. If they try to deny I will post the estimates!

Needed to have a couple of 12”x18” panels of sheet metal cut in half. I’d purchased them a year ago from the local Ace and went back there to see if they’d be able to do it. Ace didn’t have the proper tools for the job, and suggested I contact Mathis Heating & Cooling.

Phoned Mathis and spoke with Travis who said he wasn’t certain they could do what I needed, but that the owner, Mr. Mathis, was on another call. Travis offered to call me back with an answer, however, I was close by and told him I’d just make my way there if it was okay.

Upon arrival, I was greeted at the door by a big, beautiful, friendly puppy named Sage (don’t remember her breed). After rubbing and talking to Sage a bit, Travis walked me to an office where Mr. Mathis sat with another gentleman. I introduced myself and explained what I needed. At that, Mr. Mathis took the panels and asked again - adhering to the “measure twice, cut once” principle - if 12”x9” was what I wanted them reconfigured to? I affirmed, and he then disappeared through a door to the shop.

Less than 5 minutes later, Mr. Mathis returned with my NEW panels. I asked what the charge was for cutting them, and he replied simply, “NOTHING.”

“How cool is that,” I thought. Even cooler is that my panels are now absolutely perfect for the project I’m working on.

Wonderful company, Have used them for several years. Last week our old central air went completely out. They told us it would be a week for a new one. Got it here and installed in two days. Friendly, helpful, just good people. Price was a lot less than we expected as well. I could not imagine using anyone else.

I have used them for 10 years. They are always the quickest. They never try to sell you anything you dont need. I had a home warranty for a year and canceled it after having to do business with someone else. I also trust them in my home. I have a 20 year old system and they have kept it running!

Air conditioner wasn't working. Squeezed me in. Turned out I just had a clogged condensation drain. Had A/C running within 5 minutes of arrival. Just had to pay the service call, which was less than everyone else I called. Jim was nice, knowledgeable and helpful guy. Told me what to do to keep it from happening again. Will use again

This review is based on one interaction/experience with the company.
We have just recently purchased the house and in mid July the cooling would not go down past 78 degrees. Our regular HVAC company would not be able to come out for another 3 days so we gave it a shot and contacted Mathis Heating and Cooling (Conway, AR). They were not busy and came out right away (which seemed somewhat alarming but I went with it against my instinct). I was not home and my wife dealt with the technician.
According to the Mathis, our unit was leaking R22, had a leak in the coils and capacitor was out. The tech refilled 4 pounds of R22, rewired the system and replaced capacitor. At the end of the visit I was presented with $430 bill and the news that I need to replace my coils ($2k~$3k). Three days after the visit of Mathis, my regular HVAC contractor could finally make it. I was told my system barely holds 4 pounds of R22, they had to rewire all the work Mathis has done and did not see any problems with my coils. The only problem I had was an expansion valve was clogged up and was not cooling a house appropriately ($50 charge to replace the part).
Long story short, in my one time experience with Mathis Heating and Cooling, I believe this company is nothing but a fraud and a scam. I would not recommend them to anyway. Thanks for reading.

So I called several places around town trying to find someone that could look at or work on my Honeywell Whole House Humidifier. Most places I called said they have no idea about the unit and I respect that as they dont know then dont touch. Contacted Mathis and I guess they were hard up for money as I asked the lady that answered the phone if they did any work on this brand/type of unit. She said she didnt think so but would ask. I got put thru to the ?owner? maybe or the supervisor and had a pretty lengthy converstaion with him. Feeling comfortable that I would not be screwed if they did not know what they were doing I agreed for them to come by and take a look even though they are not a Honeywell dealer. When the tech arrived I open the door and showed him where the unit was. I got "Hey wow look at that." "we got one of those settin at the shop that we are going to install". Great that means they are going to start doing Honeywell and have had some training. Well not really. He walks over to the thermostat and moves a couple of switches and says "ok it should be running". Of which I know better and thats not how it works. I said "no it does everything be itself. Kicks on steam and the central fan to move the steam thru the house." he says "Oh...well do you have the manual for this thing?". I got the maual thinking he could read and figure is out but again he goes to the thermostat and flips a switch and says "that should make it run". Of which its kind of hard for the humidifier to run WITH NO WATER. This is the problem, it all looks fine but will not fill or make steam. Of which I had to open my mouth and say "from what I have read it looks like the board may be bad." Well the tech probed the wires on the humidifier and looked at the manual and said "I will go back to the shop and do some searching and we will get back with you." Well the humidifier connects directly to the unit in the attic and when he arrived I opened the attic so he would have free roam to figure things out. Well he did not even go up in the attic or figure out that the unit did not have any water. So about a week later I get a call of which went to voicemail from the owner/supervisor that they are trying to find parts from another company. I get another call a few days later that goes to voicemail saying it cant be fixed its to old and parts are not available. It was installed in Jan 2010, really, to old. Well I called Honeywell as I had done many times before and got no one or the run around and actually got someone, that did not speak very good english, after arguing with him for about 10 mins gave me a supervisors email. The supervisor emailed back and said send it in and we will fix it. Bottomline for writing this is I got a bill form Mathis for $65 a week or so later and got a phone call yesterday saying they are sending it to collections. I said they did not do anything so why am I being charged. Answer: "because we came out and looked at it". Thats not the way you do business. If I go look at something and cant figure it out then I DONT CHARGE. Saying its the humidifier board because "I" said it was the board is not figuring it out.
