Martell Construction

I had Martell Construction come out and replace my roof.
I picked them because of the good work I had heard they did when I asked around.
The crew came when they were scheduled and completed the job in one day.
They actually had some extra time & shingles and for a little more money shingled our leaky shed.
The clean up was done promptly afterward and they left with all their extra material/waste in their dumpster.
Mike himself actually came up to finish the install of a new vent in our roof and that went perfectly.
As my house needs it, I will definitely work with Martell Construction again.

Martell Construction was recommended to me by a friend when I was doing my research looking to replace over 20 windows for which some were leaking air and many didn’t open very well if at all. I picked Martell Construction because I wanted someone who could address other issues that might be discovered as part of the replacement process, and I wanted someone who would work with me during the replacement process.
Mike was able to explain his process. All of the windows were replaced with new construction windows. He wasn’t there all of the time because he manages multiple projects, but he did stop by to check on the work and he was quick to respond when I reached out to him. He also put forth effort to address my concerns about trim and other details as the project progressed. The bulk of the work was completed in a timely fashion that stretched across about two weeks.
The work was disruptive as you might imagine. There was dust to be cleared from the floor of every room (most of the dust was aerosolized by the nail gun), but all of the important things were moved out of the way and covered in plastic. Construction waste was jettisoned out of the open windows, picked up at the end of each day, and collected in a dumpster. I went around the house to pick up the remaining screws, nails, foam, and caulk after all of the work was completed.
Some small parts did go missing during the work, but they were replaced and everything accounted for by the end of the project. Many of the windows ended up being smaller than the opening by an inch or two, so the openings were padded with plywood. One window was the wrong size, so it was re-ordered and installed later. Unfortunately, the re-ordered window had a manufacturing defect regarding insulation between sashes, resulting in air leakage. Mike worked quickly to contact the manufacturer so that they could start the process of sorting out what needs to be done to fix it.
The workers did a good job, but it was sometimes tough to communicate because of a language barrier. This is where three years of high school Spanish can pay off, along with a little Google translate.
I’ve included a picture that shows what one window looked like with the padded rough opening and another that shows what it looks like with the window and trim installed. The background of the window opening was intentionally pixelized in each image.
Overall, the the trim looks good and the windows function as expected, except the one with the manufacturing defect.

I had Martell Construction replace my roof prior to having solar installed. Mike and his crew were polite, hard working and left my property in better condition than when they got there. The price was very competitive and any questions i had through the bidding process were answered in a way i could understand. I ended up having the gutters replaced as well. A few months later had them side my 3 season porch. House and roof look fantastic. Thanks Mike and crew!
