In response to Tony Glidden's Response to my husband Paul Chvostovsky below....I have had it with your LIES. I have the contact in front of me for doing our roof and siding and there is nothing that states that the deposit is non refundable. And further I have printed off our conversations on Facebook Messenger since we gave you our 4500.00 deposit October of 2020 and the date you were to be here was April 28th 7am sharp your words and you didn't show up. I will also say we didn't want you to do the roof in winter as I didn't trust that someone may fall off the roof and that would be the end of that..You need to get help, you are a compulsive liar and that is just the tip of the iceberg. We do have every conversation on paper of your lies. I don't know how you can live with yourself. I even offered to help you for free with your bookkeeping But after seeing that you cashed our check the next day and did not deposit it in your bank you probably don't need a bookkeeper. This company is a scam, the owner is a thief and a lair!! He took our deposit of $4500.00 last October 2020 and never did the job and refuses to give us our deposit back! He also defrauded our 83 year old neighbor in Belgrade out of $25,000.00!! My wife is on SS and I’m a 100% disabled veteran, we can ill afford to lose $4500.00. So save yourself the trouble and stay clear of this scumbag!!!

CROOK - DO NOT BELIEVE ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS, these are simple the owners family and friends. Check BB or Kennebec Sheriffs Department. The owner of this business is a slick talking CROOK! Tony Glidden, agrees to a job then proceeded to take a deposit, only to never show or refund the deposit. He was subsequently arrested by Kennebec County Sheriffs an faces several counts off fraud. He is awaiting trial for this unthinkable crime of an elderly person. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company or person.

I highly recommend Mainely Roofing and Siding. We reached out for emergency roof repair, following a major storm. Tony came same day to ensure everything was patched before any rain, and came back to ensure a particular problem area was done correctly, once he had all the materials needed. Responsive, courteous, and excellent repair job.

Professional job replacing shingles on my house. Work was completed in a timely manner and area cleaned after.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. Do your research- check their BBB rating (It’s a D..) or message me- I’ll be happy to fill you in on our experience which resulted in one broken promise after another and left us out a 4K deposit. The only positive thing I can take from this experience is the fact he never actually started work on our roof!
Owner is the biggest narcissist I’ve ever encountered. Absolutely nothing is ever his fault. He has an excuse ready for every time he fails to deliver- and will go so far as to imply you are the unreasonable one. We paid 4K on a 12k roof in November and as of the end of May he couldn’t give us a firm install date (he gave plenty of BS ones along the way). Was told we would have our deposit refunded within 30 days (this guy is no stranger to the PD) and still waiting... theft charges will be filed today.
Save yourself the hassle and find another company to work with.

You’ll notice how he can’t resist commenting.. May 1st to June 1st is 31 days. I should have received a refund by Saturday. I’m not the one who owes so many people money they can’t keep it straight. Good luck to you Tony.

Last year, a long time family friend had discovered a leak in her children's playroom. As a disabled mother of two she was finding it impossible to save money to have her roof repaired. I spoke with the owner of Mainely Roofing and Siding; Tony Glidden and he graciously donated all the materials necessary to take care of my friends damaged roof! Not only did he donate enough materials to repair the damaged area he made sure she had enough to redo the entire section where the leak was located. Thank you Tony; for showing your true colors with this amazing act of generosity and kindness. We will always recommend Mainely Roofing.

This is for a relative. Tony took a $7k deposit for a roof repair. This was supposed to be done late 2020. He has yet to show up and do anything, April 2021. In fact he has only just responded by email after the AG's office was contacted. Unfortunately all this came after the very REAL charges that were brought against him for stealing from an older woman. Do not believe the very fake, very brief 5 star reviews. Tony is far from professional and far from trustworthy. Do not use this company!

Mainely Roofing did a replacement roof in December 2020 which was delayed but understandably -its winter. The issue was a window was accidentally broken. Tony was notified by email with NO response. When the person came to pick up final payment , he had no knowledge of the broken window but took photos. Another employee did come and measure for a repacement.Three weeks later Tony was contacted via email to inquire about repair.(1/21/21) Response was he would be here tomorrow. NO SHOW and no further communication . If you were coming tomorrow to do the repair , the window must have been ordered and in ???? Tony was contacted and informed we would have the window repaired and mail the bill for reimbursement. On 2/23/21 Window repair bill was mailed asking for reimbursement.
On 3/4/21 sent another email asking about reimbursement and response was it will be mailed on 3/5/21.
On 3/12/21 Tony replied check was mailed to wrong address -going back out in an hour.
On 3/19/21 Tony was contacted AGAIN telling him no check has been received?? Response -he was "going to see what was going on".
Still have NOT received reimbursement for window broken 3 months ago ! Have been also asking for a receipt for 3 months which Tony said I would receive 1 week after the job was completed in December 2020?

Mainely Roofing has been a nightmare and a waste of money. The only time the owner actually showed up was to get money. He says one thing and does another. The roof they installed looks worse than the roof they replaced and now there are shingles missing from the top of the roof. They also put out a message on facebook the day after they left saying we were another "happy customer". When I commented that we were anything but happy, they immediately removed the post from facebook.
We still have tons of debris on our lawns that they said they would clean up. Obviously the crew was only concerned about getting the job done super fast as they did not replace key pieces of plywood that were no good and were working on the roof well after dark when it was pitch black out. They also did not use the materials they said they would use that were listed on the agreement. Needless to say, I now have a leaky roof and a roofing company that refuses to do anything or communicate with me. I have complained to the BBB and have now retained the services of a law firm. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Update: 03/31/21

Tony Glidden and crew showed up yesterday and repaired the Cobra vent that had fallen off the roof. An apology was offered which went a long way for my wife and I. Tony then agreed to come back in May of this year and fix the rest of the roof's issues at no charge to us. If Tony is good to his word, I will update this review with the changes and more stars.

Update: 04/01/21

I am upgrading to a three star review due to Tony giving me a signed estimate listing the fixes to our roof to be done at no charge to us.

Update 10/31/21

So, we are downgrading our review to one star as we have not heard from Tony to date concerning his admittedly deficient roof install. Now our "brand new roof' is leaking and it looks like we are going to have to shell out thousands more to have a new roof put on. I will definitely have a reputable roofer do it this time. So, I chalk it up to an $11,000.00 hard lesson learned. What a complete waste of time and money.

Tony and crew did a wonderful job.. I'd hire again and recommend them to a high school buddy of mine!

Tony and his crew did everything they said they were going too. I 100% would use his service again and would recomend them to everyone.

VERY Important that YOU READ!!!!I would like to say that if you are looking for a roofing company that you reconsider if you think of using this company. Now you may aske why. The answer is simple the owner is not a man of his word. First off he put the wrong color roof on our house. He admitted to the error. Said that he would paint it the correct color and did not do that, then said that he would send a refund, He did not, then stated that the mailed it to the wrong address and would resend, again he did not. Then he admitted to my wife that he did not even send the check. I was more the amicable in trying to resolve some kind of compensation with him and he lied to me at every turn. We finally agreed to compensation and he stated that I would have it on a Friday, He never showed, Stated on his word that he would be there at 9:30 Saturday and never showed. Finally someone shows up with a partial payment, Which we had never discussed, so again I gave him a chance, He made one more payment of the 4 left that he agreed to and decided that he was not going to pay the rest. This man shows a lack of honesty and integrity, two things that any business owner should have. By the way I have all of our texting to prove all that I have said. Again, If I were you I would look elsewhere even if you have to pay a bit more to make sure that the company that does your work is reliable, honest and has integrity because the owner of this company does not have those qualities.

This company had a hard working crew and did a very good job. They answered all questions and were very courteous. They worked efficiently and always kept me informed. They worked until 6.00 pm New Years Eve to finish the job for me.They picked up all debris before they left.

A shame the last review feels the need to blast this company over being a few weeks behind. Tony has done 3 jobs for me and always sticks to his word. They are doing their best, and I recommend them almost weekly!

I hired tony and his crew on 10 10 20 to do a job with in 3 weeks . I paid 8000 deposit here it is 12 12 20 and he has never showed up

A Maine man is accused of home repair fraud after deputies said he took $25,000 from an 83-year-old woman.

The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said the woman gave the money to Tony Glidden, of Mainely Roofing and Siding, LLC last fall to replace windows in her home.

Deputies said the money was meant to purchase materials, but the work was never completed.

Glidden, 33, of Waterville, was arrested on Saturday and charged with home repair fraud and theft by deception.

Deputies said they believe there might be other victims in the central Maine area and encourage people to reach out to law enforcement.

The mainly crew went above and beyond my mothers expectations. Their price was fair, yeah it took a couple months for them to get here but when they did the work was great and the cleanup was even better. I would reccomend them and have recommend them to a couple friends for work next spring.

Had a leaking skylight and they were out the same day I reported ti to check it out, within 2 days it was repaired. Friendly ,courteous and profrassional

Very large roof, 3200 square feet, five dormers, old cedar shakes, and uneven base. Stripped, repaired, and installed proof in 3 1/2 days. Post installation consult and punch list completed. Clean up of all debris before leaving the property. Roof has attracted much attention, would give higher rating if I couls.

Tony,Joe and the crew of roofers exceeded our expectations! Hard workers that got the whole job done in one day! I also like to support business’ that acknowledge veterans and seniors with discounts. Just goes to show they care about their customers. Looking forward to meeting the siding crew in 4-6 weeks!!!!

Follow up: The crew and work were awesome but a few months later we found we had a Lein on our property by the building supply store as Tony was paid in full but he did not pay the material bill that had our job name. We proved we paid and they removed it but Tony did nothing to help with this. Be careful and get things in writing and have checks for receipts!!

Had a job at 28 oak street. The team didn't hassle me with problems they just fixed them. Roof was installed in less than two days. Tony was responsive and communicative offering a hassle free services with absolutely no stress.

I had moved to the Augusta area in 2017, and as a Business owner myself, I could not find anyone/ personal/ professional that wanted to work, let alone, show up, answer their phone or come to work and work. I had to have my roof done over as it needed it badly
So, in In 2019 I started to call these "so called"
Locals and get an estimate, and as a senior I needed to save some more money. I bet I called 25 roofers, most never even showed up or did not returned my call. Or give me a highball estimate, knowing they are trying to rip me off. One came to my house impaired, I looked at him and just turned away and went back in my house. Finally in 2020, I was defeated and I decided to move as these so- called roofers would not call me back. I also, knew my roof on my mobile home would not make it through another Maine winter! Then I was on FB and saw his work!! I was so impressed so,I decided to try my luck, 1 last time!! I called him on Thursday morning, omg!! He answered his phone ! He met me that evening at my house . We discussed his plans of tackle. Gave him a deposit. Then 4 days later, received a text, Saying my team will be there between 8:00 & 8:30. I was in ahhh! They showed up, Gung ho, ready to tackle this mess! I will never, ever forget what you did for me! Thank you to all the men/women who worked endlessly and soo committed to me to get a safe, beautiful roof on!! Tony's company, Mainely Roofing is run so well, and smooth. This Company is at the beginning of something beautiful! We needed a Roofing company that has soo much integrity and passion!

Super responsive and great job. I contacted other roofers that never got back to me or had outrageous prices. Some roofers refused to remove old shingles and wanted to add a 3rd layer. A load of guys showed up, then a offload dumpster, and they got to work. These guys are an efficient well coordinated operation. They had a supervisor on the ground watching everything to make sure it was done perfect. It was super hot. They cleaned up everything and my roof was done in 10 hrs! Looks amazing. Also, I had gotten ripped off 3 yrs ago - paid a guy to roof.my house and he did 1/4 and left with the money. Because of this, Mainely Roofing and Siding gave me a bit of a break on price. Not there fault- but I surely appreciated it. I did not pay upfront.
I have lots of friends and neighbors and will highly recommend this company!

We had Tony and his crew replace our shingles, siding and do a roof extension. Communication, responsiveness and professional manner are only a few reasons our expectations were exceeded. Everyone was very friendly and courteous each day they showed up for work-- which included Saturday AND Sunday to get our job wrapped up. Thank you for a job well done.
