We can’t say enough good things about Linear Star Construction. From start to finish they were communicative, professional, and available anytime. When other GC turned down my idea on my dream renovation, Cory and the team took it on with no question. They made our dreams a reality and we can’t thank them enough.

Our kitchen flooded three days before Christmas 2024 which led to an insurance claim and replacement of the damaged cabinets and countertops through insurance. After obtaining a number of bids and meeting with two different adjusters, we selected Cory and his team at Linear Star Construction for a full kitchen remodel. From demo to cleanup, the project took less than 8 weeks. I'm pretty picky and detail-oriented, and was really pleased with all of the work done by the many subcontractors involved. Cory did exactly what you want from your general contractor -- he handled all of the coordinating, scheduling, follow-up, and problem solving, and communicated with us continually throughout the project. Best of all, the kitchen looks gorgeous and is a pleasure to work in every day. We would absolutely use LSC again for future projects and highly recommend them.

Cory does outstanding work and brings decades of experience to every project. He’s incredibly detail-oriented, making sure the final result is nothing short of perfect. He’s on-site every day, actively involved, and truly committed to quality. As a family-owned business, his son and daughter are also a big part of what makes the team run so smoothly—from quickly answering calls to solving problems on the spot. You’re in great hands with this crew!

This was a great experience for us. It was a partial bath remodel involving replacing a tub, tiling, drywall & electrical. Cory coordinated all the subs, was onsite every day, answered my calls on the weekends & handled the inevitable problems. I can wholeheartedly recommend Linear Star.

Linnea Star was GC for our kitchen and breakfast room remodel. We are very pleased. They chose excellent places to get our materials and subs. They came by everyday during the job and discussed what the schedule was, generally stayed on top of things. They kept things moving along. Dust, etc was kept contained, no big cleanup for us.Rate them 5 out of 5! Darla Rose

We’ve worked with Linear Star for two major renovation projects - a kitchen/laundry room/living room, and a balcony/windows. Throughout the process, we’ve found Cory and Hunter to be extremely helpful. They care how things will turn out, and they do check that work is being done well. When something wasn’t right, Cory would make it right.

Bidding process - the team at Linear Star do have a “design up front” process, where Cory walks the project with each subcontractor to get their bid, so that it can be rolled into the project. The bid process takes longer than other contractors. However, for both project, when we’ve gotten the bid - that’s the bid. Multiple professionals have looked at the project at that point, and the costs and assumptions are nailed down.

Have things gone wrong? Sure, but not due to the fault of the team. We’ve pulled up floorboards and discovered that joists were exactly where a vent should go. We’ve started pulling up the balcony to see that there was water damage underneath the concrete that nobody knew about it. Throughout the setbacks, Cory presented the issue, his recommendations, and worked with us on how we needed to handle. Was it a change order - yes, but that’s because it’s more work than anyone anticipated.

Summary - if you want to work with someone who is honest, adaptable, and makes sure that the end product has quality - go with Linear Star.

We had an unfortunate experience with Cory, a contractor whose actions fell far below professional and ethical standards.

Throughout the project, Cory's involvement was minimal. He only showed up at the house to collect payment, spending less than five minutes before leaving again. The majority of the work was completed by subcontractors, and Cory seldomly and irregularly virified the quality of their work or followed up to check on their progress.

We had given clear instructions to Cory: demolition should not begin until all materials were delivered and ready for installation. Unfortunately, this was not followed, and we were left without a kitchen for an extended period--three months, in fact. Our kitchen is quite small, this extended delay of three months was an unreasonable amount of time, causing major disruptions to our daily lives

The project started when my husband hired Cory to repair water damage in the kitchen after a leak beneath the sink caused damage to part of the floor. Cory suggested gutting the entire kitchen, even though it had been completely remodeled just a year earlier by my then-boyfriend and with Cory's previous work.

At the time, we had filed an insurance claim for the damage, but the process was moving slowly. Despite this, we trusted Cory's expertise and proceeded with his recommendation, believing it was necessary and that the insurance would cover the costs. However, after spending $40,000, we found out the insurance did not cover the repairs.

Upon speaking with several of the subcontractors Cory had hired, we learned that only partial repairs were needed, and there was no justification for gutting the entire kitchen. This was confirmed when we found out why the insurance declined the claim. In hindsight, we recognize that we should have been more diligent in verifying Cory's recommendations, and we deeply regret not seeking a second opinion.

Additionally, the project experienced constant delays, and I eventually had to personally reach out to the subcontractors to push things along. They regularly showed up late or failed to show up entirely. When I confronted Cory about the delays, he falsely claimed that the project was ahead of schedule and that he had not provided us with specific dates or timelines.

To make matters worse, in our final communication, Cory instructed me not to contact him further and informed me that he would only be dealing with my husband from that point forward.

I hope this account serves as a warning to anyone considering working with Cory and his company. We strongly recommend proceeding with caution and exploring other options for your construction needs.

We used this company in connection with an extensive water damage insurance claim to our kitchen and garage and they were exceptional in all regards. First of all their submissions to our insurance company were accepted without any pushback and our repairs were made at no cost above the reimbursed amount. Secondly, Cory was incredibly efficient and effective in getting the work scheduled and completed. He responded almost immediately to any questions and concerns and kept us fully informed at all times. Lastly, the quality of work was top notch and he kept close oversight of all of the various subcontractors he engaged (flooring, cabinetry, quartzite countertops, electricians, plumbers and especially, Matthew Sprague, his extraordinary "Jack of All Trades" .

Wonderful to have this kind of responsive and skilled company to go to. Highly recommended!!!!
