Larry's Roofing - Mocksville, NC

We contracted with Larry Street to install a new standing seam metal roof on our home and an outbuilding. He drew up a contract and requested $10K upfront to cover the roofing materials. Larry purchased part of the roofing and brought it onsite. He and his crew started on the outbuilding first because our home roof was under renovation by a framing contractor. It took him about a month to complete the roof on the 10 x 26 ft. building. Larry came to me and said that $80K in cash that he was carrying around in his work truck had been stolen. He asked if I would advance him more money toward the contract. I declined to do that and shortly thereafter, he sent me text message saying he had been injured and would not be able to roof our home. He acknowledged that he owed me some money back but didn’t know when he could pay it. I ended up suing him in Small Claims Court in Davie County, NC and obtained a judgement against him for $5K. He has done this to other individuals as well. Do not use Larry Street for any work!
