My wife and I hired Kingdom Construction to remodel the entire first floor of our house and two bathrooms, replace all interior doors, remove a chimney, and do some incidental work. Kingdom delivered a consistently high quality finished product, with great attention to detail. Really fine carpentry work and ceramic work throughout. Chad and his team were a pleasure to work with and they are highly skilled at what they do. The only negative was time to completion, which I see mentioned in other reviews. But I don't think that issue is unique to Kingdom. Material shortages, unexpected site conditions, and simply getting enough bodies to perform the work amidst demands from all the other customers can push the completion date out. And that was the only slight. The rest of the experience was as good as we could expect: flawless workmanship, a great attitude, a quality build, and good value for the money. I can definitely recommend Kingdom construction to others. If you want the job done right, hire these guys.

We had our bathroom remodeled by Kingdom. This included removing the tub and converting to a tile shower, new bathroom floor, and adding electrical circuits for a bidet and heater. We also had all new sold core interior doors installed. The craftmenship of the workers was impeccable. To be honest it took longer than expected but the outcome was well worth the wait.

We had an incredible experience working with Chad and Kingdom on our new garage build. From start to finish, they were professional, punctual, and communicative. Their team showed up early every day, kept us updated at every step of the process, and delivered exceptional craftsmanship.

They were respectful of our property, kept the job site clean, and clearly took pride in their work. The final product exceeds our expectations. The garage and patio looks fantastic and is built solidly from the ground up.

Highly recommend Kingdom to anyone looking for high-quality work done right. We’ll absolutely use them again for future projects!

From the design of my master bathroom to the finished project, Kingdom Construction has more than exceeded my expectations. I’ve worked with many contractors, but their level of expertise and attention to detail is far superior to them all. Their crew is not only highly skilled, but also very kind, friendly, and treated my home very respectfully. I am so very happy with the results of my master bathroom. I highly recommend Kingdom Construction and will hire them again for any future projects and will definitely recommend them to others.

they finished my basement to complete my family room - they explained why they had to do things step by step - the workers took care of my home as if it was theirs - they did make my condominium my home! the girls in the office always explained the billing mostly Peggy and Kelly picked the paint color, flooring and ceiling tile that just brighten the whole room up - she knew I did not want a showroom and she made everything come together to have a family room or as I say MY gathering place with family and friends - Kingdom Construction & Remodel is a People person Business!

Horrible company to work with. Sloppy, not put together, will overcharge you by 20-30% and leave you with a job that takes 2 months longer than it should. Brian is rude and incompetent. Chad illegally claims to be a licensed plumber and is not. The workers they have do great work but the entire company from the managers up are not professional and make this a nightmare.

Wow...the previous review by Scott Robertson is pretty much spot on with my experience with Kingdom. Makes sense because it sounds like that jobs were going on simultaneously. This was absolutely the worse experience I have ever had as a home owner. I had initially hired Kingdom to do full basement and first floor remodel...A pretty big job ...so I thought I would be taken seriously. There was never any direction, organization, or communication through out the whole process. People showing up whenever and not have the plans that I paid for. Contractors would show up and ask me where things were going. I was the project manager of my own job. Whenever one of their outside contractors did something incorrectly, they would blame the contractors and not take ownership. I hired Kingdom...but they refused to take ownership. I majority of the problems were with plumbing which was done by the owner Chad. He claimed to be a licensed plumber ...which after contacting the state of Michigan...I was informed that he was not. Makes sense...lots of plumbing issues that have not been finished or fixed. The list goes on. The best thing they did for me was let me out of the contract to renovate the first floor. I was simply done. I will say...the tile contractor they had working fr them was excellent!! He no longer does jobs for them. I was offered a 1 year workmanship warranty by Kingdom that they have decided not to honor. They have been sent two demand letters from my attorney...which we have confirmation that they've received both. The demand letters simply requested that they repair and or finish items that were part of the contract. They have simply ignored all request. It is no coincidence that the last 3 reviews posted show their true business model.

Summary: We sincerely regret hiring Kingdom over Sharer or Cowdin to renovate a portion of our kitchen, half bathroom, and bar due to unfulfillment of timeline, communication, and attention to detail. As a certified project manager professional (PMP), I can tell you that the project was severely mismanaged and that Kingdom is spread way too thin, don't care about the quality of their work, or a combination of the two.

Detailed Review: The "Our Process" page on their website paints a rosy picture and appears to be legitimate all the way through the "Design" phase, but completely falls short once the renovations begin. First you will meet with Brian (owner? salesman?) and a designer (Alex for us) to lure you in with exciting free 3D rendering mock-ups in the "Consult" phase; these are actually quite nice but other companies like Sharer provided us with equally as nice renderings. Once you sign the $1500 deposit to move on to the "Design" phase you will never hear from Brian again, just like other reviews say, but you will work with the designer to start making design decisions and selections; Alex was wonderful to work with and at this point we were still hopeful for a smooth renovation. During this stage, you will gain access to the BuilderTrend project portal which is advertised by Kingdom as being used for posting schedules, daily progress updates, to-do lists, and other communications but once renovations start you'll find out it is in fact ONLY used for tasks associated with them getting paid: selections, invoicing, and change orders.

After 95% of our selections were made in late March 2021, we didn't receive a timeline from our "Project Coordinator" Joe until June after asking countless times and work had already begun. We had some delays due to COVID, such as the countertop taking longer to come in than expected (understandably out of their control) but never received updated timelines despite asking again numerous times. They also claimed they would be done with everything 2 weeks after countertops went in, but it was almost 4 months due to workers showing up at most once per week and all the issues below. When workers would show up, it was frequently without any notice despite asking multiple times to give us a heads up as we have a pet to lock away.

There was A LOT of rework due to not following plans and avoidable errors. Examples include: cut holes in the ceiling for light fixtures in the wrong spot and in the wrong size; cut holes in custom open shelving for lighting that wasn't supposed to be there; installed a new cabinet incorrectly and without me catching it the countertops would not have fit; when cutting outlets out of the back of new $3000 pantry cabinets they didn't bother to remove the shelves in the way so they just cut into them; left us without running water on our entire first floor for over 2 weeks after countertops were installed; clearly misshapen hexagon tile was installed instead of asking if they should proceed; scratched existing flooring; used my leather office chair to hold something heavy permanently denting the leather; subflooring patching was uneven causing the floor to sink 1/2"; ceiling fan install caused leak from roof; did not run vents for a return they moved so air pulls from walls; didn’t seal our backsplash grout so it started peeling; installed cabinet hardware crooked on multiple doors; just to name a few specific issues that we had to encounter throughout this project. Kingdom does not point out their own mistakes or damage to your property so it is up to you to find, report, and ask them to fix these mistakes.

We expressed serious concerns multiple times to Joe, Chad, and Brian about the project length, lack of communication/transparency, and frequency of rework with zero change in behavior and often not even a response. Towards the end I literally offered to pay them extra money and begged them to get the work done so our lives could finally return to normal. Overall, we are most happy that this project has ended and will not be recommending Kingdom to anyone.

I don't often give reviews, but this experience requires one. I had a major construction project done through Kingdom. I must say, the labor and handy work was outstanding for the most part, which is why I'll give them at least 1 star, but the front office experience was so bad that I will try my best to steer anyone I can away from this company. If I had to guess, the size and dollar amount of my project had to be one of the biggest jobs they had going on, as I could have built a small house for the price, but the attention paid by the management team definitely did not line up that way. They don't manage any type of budget for the project, so whatever the base dollar value you are given, add another 25-30% for your selections. Brian gives a big presentation at the start, then you will literally never hear from him again once you write the first check. Chad is in charge, but also is the plumber so his availability is slim to none. When things don't happen on time, it is nothing but finger pointing from the project managers. It was impossible to get a generalized timeline for my project, which seems like a pretty important aspect of any project.

If you're looking to pay top dollar for your project for the same service that you get from any other contractor, this is the company for you.

First off, I want to say that I really enjoyed working with Kingdom. Everyone is very kind and like others have said, you get walked through the process and really get helped along the way.

Also, I am giving a little grace because of the current COVID-19 restrictions.

However at the end of the day, the quality of work and overall value did not match our expectations. I don't want to put on blast here the problems that we had because they have been communicated privately, but I wanted to make sure my review was included.

I had my bathrooms completely redone by Kingdom and thought they did such a good job, I hired them to do my kitchen. I was completely happy with the remodel they did and everything went very well. I have to add that the team I had on all my projects was the best. Ron, project manager, Joe did all the tile work, Dennis handled all the painting and Tim handled all the demo and install. It was because of this team that I felt my remodel projects went so well. I highly recommend Kingdom for any job you may be considering.

Kingdom remodeled or master bathroom. They did an awesome job. The guys that worked on the job were great, neat, polite, hard working. The project manager always kept me posted on what was going on and when someone would be at the house or if items were on time or delayed. We love our finished bathroom!

My bathroom remodel (down to the studs, remove tub and replace with tiled shower) by Kingdom turned out absolutely beautiful. We are so happy with our showpiece of a bathroom. I cannot say enough about the beautiful tilework. There were a few minor problems through the course of the renovation but they were fixed in a timely manner and always to my satisfaction. Ron, my project manager, was easy to communicate with despite my OCD/picky tendencies. The entire office staff and crew were very helpful when we needed design assistance. The only complaint I have is the dust. Some mess is expected when doing a renovation but I felt better care could have been taken to mask areas of the house to prevent so much dust from moving throughout. The crews did always protect my wood floors with drop cloths and did some cleanup at the end of each day, but I still had to do a lot of dusting/wiping surfaces throughout my house almost daily during the project. I mention it only as an area of continuous improvement. Frequent dusting was a minor inconvenience to end up with a beautiful end result. I highly recommend Kingdom Construction for you renovation project.

Kingdom was great. Within a couple of days of first talking to Brian, he came out to talk to me and check out the project. He listened to what we wanted and starting measuring the kitchen without wasting any time. Less than 2 weeks later we sat down to look at his proposal, complete with detailed costs. He had great ideas that helped make our kitchen more efficient and easier to work in. The crew was great - Ron, Tim, Joe, Dennis, Jim and everyone else involved were at our door at 8 am each day and worked hard all day. The workmanship was fantastic. We were also very happy with the cabinets from MJ Cabinets - Charlie was great to work with. We have been very happy with our new kitchen. Everyone who has seen our new kitchen has been impressed. We are already considering other projects we will hire them for. I cannot imagine using anyone else.

Have worked with Kingdom Construction for over 10 years and they have done excellent work on my home in Canton and then again in my current home in Plymouth. Prompt, courteous service with attention to detail. My neighbor was also well pleased with their work and wished they had contacted them sooner as they had numerous problems with a previous contractor. They are exceptional in both interior and exterior home remodeling and repairs. No job too BIG - No job too small - give them a call - they can do it all!

We had a great experience with Kingdom Construction doing a complete basement remodel and finishing. It was the biggest remodel we've done on this house and included everything from plumbing, electrical, framing & dry wall, stairway, lighting, doors, walls, closets and storage area, gorgeous flooring, studio space, and painting and finishing--everything. We had about 16 different employees of Kingdom and their sub-contractors in our home -- every one of them was professional, very friendly and helpful, and did excellent quality work. Any minor corrections were made right away. They started and finished the 7 week job exactly when they said they would, Brian and Paul stayed on top of the project and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. They responded to some scope changes we threw at them, as well as city inspections that required adjustments. Overall, very, very happy. The price could have been less, it seemed high, but we didn't have accurate comparisons. Every time I walk downstairs now I smile.

We hired Kingdom to do a complete renovation of our master bath as well as install a kitchen backsplash and tackle some drywall issues in various rooms throughout our house. I cannot say enough about how attentive, flexible, and accommodating they were. We encountered numerous issues with the tile and grout that we had selected for the kitchen backsplash and it ended up being a much more complicated and labor intensive project than anyone had anticipated. They remained patient as we worked through the issues and reassured us that our satisfaction with the end result was their top priority. The various crews that we interacted with were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about their work. A big thank you to everyone who assisted with our renovation! (And a special shout out to Paul, Joe, and Brandon who were tasked with resolving all of the issues with the kitchen backsplash!)

Kingdom Construction and Remodel provided us with exemplary customer service. They would consistently work around our schedules and always went out of their way to accommodate our requests during the project. The end result was a finished product with great quality and craftsmanship. The crews were very friendly and kept the house as clean as could be expected. They also completed the project per our requested timeline which was very important to us. We are very happy with the project’s outcome and with the service that was delivered. They will be our first phone call for all future home improvement projects.

We just wrapped up a master bathroom renovation with Kingdom Construction. At various points throughout this process, Kingdom was as high as a five-star review, and as low as a two-star review. Finding a solid contractor who does good work is such a difficult process, hopefully a thorough review will help you.

To summarize, if you don't want to read my long winded review...if you choose Kingdom, by the time they're done, you will have a beautifully renovated room constructed by professionals, that looks high end and amazing. You will, however, want to pull your hair out a few times during the process. To elaborate:

The Good:
-The initial designing process, and the fact that they have a designer on staff is incredibly helpful to people like us who need a little help with selections, what works, what looks good, etc.

-The workers who came to the house were the utmost professionals. They seemed highly skilled, were friendly, and did a great job. They also were excellent about cleaning up at the end of each day.

-Our bathroom looks absolutely amazing. The tile floor, tile shower, vanity, mirrors, fixtures...they've all come together to create a stunningly beautiful, high end bathroom.

The Neutral:
-Damage/Poor Craftsmanship. Through this project, we had a front porch light smashed, a hammer hole in our bedroom, and an outlet fail under the heavy use of their power tools. Additionally, vanity lights (design failure), and knobs installed improperly. A shower nook with poor tile work, shower half-wall with poor construction, a couple spots that had never been grouted, and a couple of poor drywall patches. Each time we voiced our concerns, these things were fixed. A guy named Tim came in at the end, and fixed each discrepancy. He called himself "quality control" and by the time he left, everything was undeniably perfect. My concern with this is that it fell upon us to catch everything. I do believe that had we not noticed, or mentioned any of these things, they would not have been fine tuned or fixed. So, just have to watch things like a hawk.

The Bad:
-Communication, communication, communication. This is by far their biggest drawback. It was almost as though they were a brand new company and we were helping them through their growing pains...but they're not, they're quite established.
To elaborate, selections that had been finalized during the initial design consultation were opened back up for discussion many weeks later, as though they'd never been talked about. They fired their designer after we had done all the work with her. We were unaware of this until the week our project started, where we again, were asked about selections that had already been finalized.
Brian, who seemingly is their salesman, ultimately became the only person we could reliably communicate with. Paul, the project supervisor, cannot list communication as a strongpoint. Emails were either never responded to, or slowly or incompletely. If my wife or I would text him, the first text back would typically be "who is this?"

-Schedule. They were to start each day at 8:30am...this turned out to mean anywhere from 8:15 to 9:00. That in and of itself was not terrible, but their finishing times were much more erratic. Sometimes done at noon, sometimes not until 8:00pm; and despite having an online calendar, we never had a heads up as to which it'd be. Guess which it was when we had family coming over to celebrate Christmas at 6:00pm...

-Staying on schedule. We were initially told that the project would start in late November, then the first week of December. At this point we let them know that we didn't want our house torn up over Christmas and New Years, and that it was totally ok to delay the start of our project if they couldn't finish in time. We were assured they would be completely finished (aside from installing the shower glass) by December 22nd. Well, it's January 11th, and they just finished today.

I actually would've gone into further detail, but google actually has character limits. Hope this helps someone...

My husband and I decided to purchased our first home and that purchase was a fixer-upper. The home that we were interested in had been in a bad fire. The damage was mostly cosmetic, thankfully. We got a great deal, but it needed a lot of work. The entire home would be renovated.
We decided to use an FHA 203k Renovation loan. This is a unique federal loan and we needed a bank and contractor with experience in order for the process to be as smooth as possible.
Kingdom Construction & Remodel was our choice since they quoted within our budget and were very friendly. They were professional and knowledgeable of our special loan which gave us comfort. Kingdom also has secretaries that handle the communication, (Peggy and Crystal) Brian handles the finance side, and Chad, the project head.
The initial start of the process went smoother than we expected. We had all of the paperwork done and renovation started mid Dec. 2016. The job was done by different sub-contractors hired by Kingdom.
They only thing we had an issue with was communication. There were times we contacted Kingdom for updates and it would take a week for a response. There were a few times the home sat dormant for weeks and we just wanted explanations. The ordering of materials and product selection process seemed a bit scattered, but we got it done. Overall, we are happy with the work done on the home. The work is so good that the neighbors are asking who did it. There were a few hiccups, which we hear is normal in this type of situation and there were a few repairs in the home that needed to be fine-tuned which they took care of. There were a few things that were missed like our screen for the back door, which we are still awaiting repair.
Kingdom is a good company and I hope they learned from working from us, as we gained knowledge of contractor partnership and renovation from them.

Tim, Brian and Joe have been to our home several times in the last few months. We used Kingdom Construction for our Kitchen Remodel and to repair our basement after a flood. They have done FANTASTIC work and we will use them for our upcoming Bathroom remodel. The crew is friendly, they clean up after themselves, they start early and work hard all day! They have earned our trust and the least we can do is recommend them! Kingdom is our choice for home improvement projects!

Our remodel took a while due to unforeseen issues with our home. Kingdom really tried to be prompt in scheduling us once materials became available. We had a new roof, full porch and front facade remodel and then decided to have them install or new laminate flooring. Workers were prompt, trustworthy, and took care to clean up each day. I was unhappy with a few spots/pattern of our laminate and they came back to correct it to our liking. Would recommend and use them for future jobs.

I am the proud owner of a NEW roof on my 25+ year old backyard gazebo. The team that arrived right on time, introduced themselves, and began the removal of the old, curled up shingles, which reminded me of a hobbit's house. They discovered, and documented with pictures that there were distressed and deteriorating sheets of OSB under those shingles. Ben, the team leader presented the plan of letting the office know, who then contacted me with an estimate, and back to work they went. The job took more than one day, due to the replacement of the sheeting on the roof, but the shingles look great. I selected a brown that went with the color selected for the recently repainted posts and rails. The scale and size of the shingle does not make the expanse of the roof look out of scale. I am very pleased with the work done by Kingdom Construction; this was my first experience and I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing some work done. Check out their pics of other jobs too!

This company is really excellent; I'd work with them again in a heartbeat. We just used them for partial remodeling of two bathrooms and used them a few years ago for an extensive kitchen remodeling job. In both instances they were extremely professional, thorough, efficient with their use of time and true to their word.

It's the people at Kingdom Construction and Remodeling that make the difference. Brian, Tim, Ben and Crystal are great to work with!

I had a bathroom remodeled, the house and porch painted, the porch roof replaced as well as multiple projects completed. The workmanship by Tim and Ben is excellent.

This a company I trust both in the quality of their work and their commitment to honoring their clients.

I had a tub replaced. The men who did the repairs were on time, nice, went the extra mile to make sure they put in a quality product. One of the workers went to Lowes to exchange the new tub for another that was thicker on the bottom. I am sure he saved me from having to have another tub replaced again in the future.

We contracted with Kingdom about a year ago for installation of ceramic tile in our kitchen. They were advised that we wanted the tiles as close together as possible while still allowing for grout. The first guy that came started and the tiles were close together. He was then pulled to go on another job and another installer came. The tiles he placed as he proceeded with the job are further apart than the initial tiles. So some of the grout lines are wider than others. And some grouting is low, other places it is high. Throughout the job, we had to insist that they take up several tiles that they cracked along the side installing and several places where the floor was uneven. We wanted tile underneath the cabinets in the event we got new cabinets. After the cabinets were reinstalled and we removed one of the baseboards, there is a space in the tile where it cracked and they took out the piece but left the space in the tile. Also, I am not sure if enough of the cement base or whatever they put under the tile is enough because several tiles have now cracked in half and have to be replaced.

While Chad and the rest of his staff were very nice, it was a rough job in communicating with them. The job took longer than expected, several things we had to insist be redone like uneven tiles and chipped tiles which they know did not look nice. Working with them was tough and lack of communication. For these reasons, I would not recommend them for a ceramic tile job.

In the end, we are very, very happy with our basement. It is amazing the transformation Kingdom was able to accomplish. We struggled with a grade because while everything Kingdom did was great, we contracted with them and therefore consider them responsible for the subs they chose. Most were great, one was okay, one was a disaster.

We were bothered by a couple things:

-The quote, while seemingly inclusive, left off things that were needed for code per our city. These ended up being additional costs that were unplanned that could have been easily discovered ahead of time.

-This goes along with the first item, but when we contracted with a professional, we assumed (erroneously) that the contractor would know what would be code for renovating a basement in our city. We questioned what R value the insulation would be and were told there wouldn't be any because it wasn't quoted. A five minute phone call to the building department told us we needed at least R11. We technically failed rough plumbing inspection because by code, new renovations must install a backflow valve. Those two items added almost $3000 to our bill. Again, frustrating as the homeowner who hired a professional to handle the nuisance of permits and code.

In the end, it was a massive project. We spent a lot of time with these people in our home and spent a lot of money to complete it. Everyone at Kingdom was wonderful and we felt comfortable with them in our home and around our young kids. We're very happy we chose to go with them.
