I recently had Seabolt TRY to build me a new deck. He took the job and led me to believe his crew was doing the work. He put contracted or temp workers doing my project without me knowing. He passed them off as being his crew. Multiple issues from footings not being correct, work having to be torn out, Seabolt installed deck boards that were extremely knotty. He tried to tell me they were premium boards and tried to pass them off as premium boards. After he finally checked, the boards were not premium boards. His crew not parking in the areas I explained from day one. One of his "temp" workers drove his truck on my new rock bank and tore the ledge up that holds the rock. I told Seabolt not to let him back in property. Seabolt took up for the guy and said he did not know he did it. Seabolt told me he would not let him come back. The very next working day, the guy was back on the job site. I had to call Seabolt to tell him to make the guy leave. Seabolt's word meant nothing. I was told several times by Seabolt that work on my deck would be done a certain day, only to be pushed back on work getting done because they were at another job. Then when he feels like it, he rushes in to slap things together. A footing had to be done over three times plus additional inspections, creating more delays. It took six months from the initial talk to starting the deck. While the "temp" crew was working on the job site, Seabolt never had a port a potty on the job site. A CLEAR OSHA VIOLATION. I kept questioning things, not going according to his word and he abruptly pulled off the job. I had a talk with him about issues and he assured me they would be taken care of and the very next day, he was back doing what he wanted. He did refund my initial payment, but showed me his character in not standing behind his work and keeping his word on getting his "first string" crew to finish the mess his "second stringers" created in trying to build the deck. He got mad and walked off the job. That indicated his true commitment. I would not hire this clown to build me a chicken coop. Six months wasted relying on the wrong person. Thanks for leaving me a mess. You should have not taken the job if you could not have delivered a satisfactory deck.
Kenny Seabolt Home Improvements has done multiple projects for me over the years, including window replacements, flooring and complete room remodels. I’ve been super satisfied every time with every detail and step of the process. I highly recommend this company and only wish I lived closer again for future work.
Be very careful if you have tile work done. I have never been happy with my bathroom tile work that was done few years ago. The tile are uneven in the shower and the guy did try to re-do but wasn't any better. He also used the rough grout which makes cleaning evern harder. The floor tile is not good in the shower base evern, dark thick grout in some places, thin in others. I paid a lot of money for this bathroom renovation. I'm thinking about having the shower torn out. The rest of the renovation was good but shower was terrible.
