Jonathan and his team are amazing. My basement flooded on March 31st, 203.... I was in a major panic and hysterical, I felt helpless and did not have any direction on what to do. As I saw my basement fill with water I called friends to ask for help. One of my close family friends told me not to worry, he sent Jonathan over that night. Well, the street in my neighborhood was so flooded that Jonathan could not even pull down my street, however he in the very next morning with his JSMM crew and started to clear out all of the water, personal items, furniture, tear out the carpets, etc. I have never seen anyone move this fast and also take control... he was the hero and guided me on every stop to solve the issue. Within 2 days they had the basement cleaned out, sanitized, 2-3 feet of drywall removed (3000 sq ft basement), carpet removed and thrown away.... it was amazing. I am forever grateful for the crew at JSMM and what they did to help me. I can't stress enough how highly I recommend this company. They saved me and also guided me through every step including with insurance, contractors, etc. Thank you, Jonathan!

Unresponsive & Poor Business Practices -Proceed with Caution

My experience with JSMM, Inc .- Steve Markoutsas and T&T public adjusters - Jonathan Tishel (companies are one of the same ) was stressful , frustrating and disappointing. I made multiple attempts to resolve issues with them, but they did not respond. Under my legal rights, I requested a sworn contractor statement, but they never provided one. Instead of addressing my concerns, they proceeded with filing a lien against my property.

Additionally, I noticed discrepancies in their billing, including charges for work that was not performed. This raised concerns for me about their business practices.

On a personal level, I couldn’t t shake the feeling that, as a single woman, I may not have been taken as seriously as others might have been in my situation. This is simply my own perspective, but I feel it is worth mentioning.

I encourage anyone considering their services to do thorough research, document everything, and ensure clear communication before proceeding.

My husband and I highly recommend Jonathan Tishel and JSMM. Jonathan's knowledge and experience in the construction field was reassuring when the insurance company began its program of stalling and throwing curve balls. He always took time to answer our questions and address any concerns, and he never promised something he could not deliver. He was patient with us and persistent with the insurance company, and the results were truly excellent.

I used Jsmm inc for my roof and work inside my house, they did amazing job! Jonathan and his crew are focusing on the details, they gave me updates very often and they finished everything in the timeframe that they told me. I will use them in the future for other projects too.

I highly recommend Jonathan and his team for your roof repair needs. A couple of weeks ago, we discovered a roof leak that made its way through the ceiling of our bedroom. We called some water mitigation folks to dry out the attic and made the mistake of allowing them to tarp our roof to prevent additional leaking. Even though there affected area was relatively small, they ended up tarping the entire roof. When our insurance adjuster came out, he informed us that because of the holes they put in, we'd likely need the replace the whole roof and that insurance may only cover the small section of roof that was actually leaking, which would mean we would be on the hook for the rest.

Enter JSMM. They made quick work of the roof replacement and even identified and resolved the root cause of the leak (improper roof system for the roof angle). Additionally, Jonathan was an excellent communicator and throughout the process, I felt very assured that he had our back. Finally, he was an excellent mediator between us and our insurer. Dealing with homeowners insurance is almost always a pain but with Jonathan in the loop, all of that pain was hidden from me. I didn't need to worry about explaining the situation to the insurer, or about accidentally saying the wrong thing that could adversely affect my claim. He was able to negotiate with the insurer to get my whole roof replacement covered. If what the adjuster said is true, including Jonathan in the project probably saved me around $30k and absolutely increased my peace of mind. No roof leak can be called stress-free but bring JSMM into the mix and it'll be as stress-free as possible.

JSMM Inc. deserves 10 stars if this was an option! What an incredible experience I had dealing with them from start to finish on my insurance claim from hail and wind damage! Jonathan, the owner, was exceptionally great. from dealing with the insurance company, to dates and times about material drop off and installation. I literally didn’t have to do anything. He got the most out of the insurance and way more than I expected. Roof, gutters, down-spouts, garage door, soffit, facia, front door and storm door and window coverings. I was ecstatic! all while covering my deductible! His crews doing the install, were kind and courteous and also quick and thorough and everything looks fantastic. Grade A adjuster and contractor and would highly recommend! Final pics to follow!

I am on the board of directors of the condominium in Buffalo Grove IL. We had a bad situation with another GC who bailed out of the contract on a short notice and we were approaching fall and needed our roof work done ASAP. The entire process of explaining their work process, submitting the estimate, review, sign off and most importantly the work itself was done very professionally, paying attention to all details and questions that we had and following through on every aspect of the job. Finding the right person to handle the right job is everything and it is an incredible bonus when you find someone like Jonathan, who handled everything on our behalf with the utmost white glove service and professionalism. He was our champion in working with our insurance company to rightfully pay out this claim. I had been a loyal insurance customer for over 25 years and never late with a payment. We were about to have our insurance claim denied when our roofer suggested meeting Jonathan to cover our legitimate claim due to ice damming in our house. It was during the vortex of 2021 when our insurance company was angling to bring in a structural engineer to find pre-existing conditions to deny my claim. It rained from the third floor of my house to the first floor of my house, wiping out our primary bedroom, kitchen, garage, roof and 2 decks off the house. Honestly, until our roofer suggested Jonathan, I had absolutely no knowledge of who or what he would do for me. Let me tell you, it was everything and more!!! I actually began sleeping at night again because there was someone who can "talk the talk" with our insurance company. He knew how to represent us, keep us informed at every turn and as he often reminded us, the insurance company was slow to move, and to be patient. Lo and behold, we were presented with a check in the amount that covered everything and more!! JSMM has worked with us to complete three major projects over a 2-year period: Completing a new roof installation, new siding/gutters on our house and garage, and most recently was instrumental in completing repairs in our family room, kitchen and entire first floor after we suffered major damage due to an ice dam. In all cases, we were impressed by the quality of work and the level of professionalism by the JSMM team. The workmanship on everything was outstanding and we could not be happier with the results. What really sets JSMM apart was the careful planning, accurate scheduling, attention to detail and timely communication which went into the project. The ice dam repair project was massive and included demo in multiple rooms, drywall installation, painting and trim work, hardwood floor sanding and staining, and a complete kitchen gut and remodel with new cabinets, electrical, plumbing, tilework and granite countertops. JSMM ensured that everything went smoothly and according to schedule. We were amazed when the deadline was met precisely. All work completed in just over a month.

JSMM completed the job another contractor did not complete. They came immediately and were empathetic with the situation I had been put in with the previous company. I was just not another job to JSMM. They took their time and performed to a standard of quality that is expected on the North Shore.

Jonathan helped me work with my insurance company to appropriately file a claim to maximize the amount I received. With that amount, plus some of my own funds, I was able to basically redo my entire roof and siding, something that was much needed--and that I'd been putting off.

In particular, JSSM did a great job on my siding work. I was working with an excellent architect that created a modern, involved design. JSSM had a skilled crew that was able to make the design reality. I thought it was excellent, but to really bring it home, my architect stopped by--and even he was impressed with the fidelity to the design he had rendered.
