We are being proactive, and replacing our 20-year-old roof before we have any major problems. Jorve did the roof 20 years ago, and they won our choice to do the replacement. We haven't had any problems with our roof; it's just that it's showing wear and tear at this point. Tait Hanson was extremely helpful at evaluating all the work we need, making recommendations, explaining options, but never "selling" too hard, either. That made the difference.

Jorve did a great job with my roof cleaning project despite short notice. They went the extra mile so that my exterior house painting job did not have to be rescheduled. I also appreciated the line of communication so that I had a good idea of the timeline, cost and materials. Great job Jorve.

From the beginning to the end, first class. Dan Edmonds is a superb salesman whose skills were matched by Jorve's roofers. Salesmen are notorious for promising more and better only to come up short when when the product is installed. That was not the case with Jorve. As promised, the work was done in a timely manner, the detritus was nearly invisible. The roof looks great. The foreman and crew were sharp looking and worked very hard. Several passers-by have commented on the work and asked about our experience. i have no qualms or reservations about recommending Jorve to them. I hope they continue with their stellar performance and product. I cannot give Jorve more than 5 stars however. Thank you. Jack Remick, Helen Remick.

First off, the roof itself looks great. We've only had it a few days, so it's actual quality is yet to be seen. I will update as we see how the roof performs.

The problems with Jorve were timing, communication, and cleanup. The salesman talked a big game about how well they would clean up the site. This did not happen. Immediately prior to the final walk-through from the job manager (who showed up on site three times, which was fine) I found shards of metal roofing, nails, washers, polyiso insulation chunks, plastic bags, and a machete. Yes, a machete, lying around my yard. Once or twice fast food containers were left on my porch overnight. Kevin did spend an hour cleaning up the site itself, and both Kevin and the owner assured me they would review and update their procedures.

The original estimate was for 6 days.Even accounting for the days lost to rain, it took almost twice that long to actually complete the installation. I was later told this estimate was unrealistic and should not have been given. I'd rather a conservative estimate than excuses. In general though, the crews were friendly and hard working.

Communication was fine. Not great. There was an issue with one of the tarps blowing off during a storm at 4:30, and the crew came back at 7pm to fix it, which was good.

When payment was charged to my account, it was also wrong the first time, and I had to call to correct it. The error was in my favor (thousands less than the final total), but it was still an amusing mistake.

After talking with the management over my issues, they assured me that they were reviewing all of the problems I had, and offered a small recompense. Hopefully they work out the kinks.

The home has cathedral ceilings without an attic. It was designed for an enclosed roof system. Jorve walked through the house and it was obvious that here is no attic or venting in the roof. Jorve installed a vented new roof. My architects pointed out the fault to Jorve, with documentation of the venting errors that are absolutely wrong for the structure. The company refused to acknowledge their error. They pointed out that when they were installing the roof, the roofers were concerned about the problem. So, Jorve tried to get me to take up the existing plywood, batten down the insulation, and apply new plywood to the entire roof at an add on cost increase by 50% of the original cost. This would have deminished the R factor of the insulation and changed the enclosed roofing system of the original design. I declined to do that, and Jorve continued with the installation of the vents on the roof. These vents can lead to problems due to risks of moist air pockets forming in cold weather because the vents are just pockets for the air to condense and no where to flow through(no attic) and no battened insulation. I now have extreme concerns about the new roof that I did not have before Jorve got a hold of my project. I would have been better of just keeping the old roof.
Of lesser concern, was Jorve's lack of sample products(they only had one composition companies products). That company did not have a good match for my house. I had to go around town and view homes and ask home owners what product they used find one that matched my house color. If I had used the one Jorve suggested I would have had blue tones on a house that is a dark gray with green undertones. It would have been hideous.

I paid 45K for a pool bottom flat roof a few years ago and was issued a 50 year warranty. We have a leak coming in through a canned light in the ceiling. It is coming through the stucco on the chimney and running under the pool bottom rubber membrane so it is not covered. They insist that their stucco guy has to do the work to maintain the warranty and are charging us double the amount of other bids, $4700. It has been 2 weeks of unusually good weather and no one has come by to do the work. The guy we are working with, Rick Fast said we are the problem because we didn't sign the contract fast enough. I cannot convey enough how disappointed we are with Jorve's service.

We paid thousands of dollars to Jorve a few years ago. They PROMISED that they would make sure we did not have the leak problem that was the reason for the work needing to be done. We had them re-side an entire side of our home. They took all of the wood cedar siding off the exposed side of our house. They delayed beginning after ordering the wrong wood, and the piles of wood were in our yard for weeks killing the grass. They only removed it when the new wood arrived. When the work began, it because clear that part of the timber structure holding up the cedar siding needed to be replaced. The same two guys who were installing the siding were told the do the job. In fact, it turned out that only one who did it...and he was not trained. There was a half inch gap from one replacement beam that was newly installed to hold up the ceiling. He said not to worry about that. The house is three stories on that side of the home. The company didn't use scaffolding, but had the guys balance between two ladders! Instead of putting new outside tarp (whatever its called) they just didn't bother. Used the same tarp as before. We were away during that phase, and my son took photos. Such a simple easy thing to do to seal a house and they didn't both with that. Unbelievable. They removed the French doors that leaked to work on the wood, and then replaced them with the same door...and that is OK; except for the fact that the door continued to leak in a new spot, and has done. When calling them about it, they disclaimed they had even moved the door!! The leak we had into our bedroom did not go away, it got worse. But they didn't stand behind that either. The trim on the balcony (metal replacing the existing wood to waterproof better was not properly done. When I called the company, they sent a supervisor out who said, no we do things properly. I told him to remove the fop, that I would pay for the replacement. He did and saw that it was not done properly, and he did send someone out. So if you use these guys I suggest the following;
Don't listen to the smooth sales talk they have, so basically don't trust them.
Take photos of every single thing they do, as they disclaim mistakes.
The salesman told me the work was guaranteed, but when I called up to say our leak was still there, they said it is not guaranteed. So get everything in writing.
Check that what you requested is the actual material they use.
I used Jorve due to their reputation, but I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

I have a Jorve Roof and love it. We had a project manager make a full inspection of our roof, help us understand what we needed and make an estimate. The price was inline with other contractors doing similar work (the cheep guys were cutting corners). The installation went well, very nice, hardworking guys on the Jorve team. The roof looks great! I recommend these guys, worth every penny.

The roof seemed great-- a 50 year roof! But then had several instances of water coming in by pouring over the back side of the gutter. They fixed it in one area, and I did not realize the problem went all around the house. In another area, I could see the ground from inside the attic-- a big hole. They had someone out who said there was no problem. Now I have rats and the new estimator told me they had not installed a drip edge. The Manager apparently says they did install a drip edge, but apparently they use a style of drip edge that does not seal the roof or keep water out. I called weekly for over a year and they slow rolled me until I gave up, but now that the rats are coming in and the estimator agreed there was an installation error, I have been calling again. They say the warantee is no longer valid so they won't repair their bad install. There is wood exposed to water, and the gutters have a gap that lead water and pine needles into the soffits. Three different workmen from Jorve have said to me, "That's not our work; we don't do it that way." Then they look in the records and say, how odd, we did do that. Obviously they had a lousy team on this install, but they refuse to take responsibility. I suggest you pick a different company.

Jorve absolutely conquered the task at replacing the shingles on the roof of our garage. I’m happy that I spent the time investigating and researching Seattle roofers and was able to find one that serves Bothell. I’m extremely impressed with the quickness and quality of the work done and should I ever need roof work done again, or if my friends need roof work done, Jorve will be the first that I call.

QUALITY! That's the best way to describe both the work ethic of the contractors assigned to my roof and and the work itself. I was a little iffy initially with choosing to work with Jorve, but I was reassured by my colleagues that Jorve was worth it and sure enough, they were right. The new roof is makes our home look a million times better and I have only the awesome guys at Jorve to thank for that!

My experience with Jorve was truly A-Plus. They're contractors were the most polite and knowledgeable when they provided the quote for my roof and their professionalism continued to when they were actually on top of my Bellevue roof, putting in new shingles. I'm very pleased with my choice for working with Jorve, they were the best Seattle roofing contractors for my job.

Jorve helped me out a great deal by providing the work that the original roofing contractor who did my house should have done. If only whoever built my house had used Jorve to build the roof, I wouldn't of had to contract them to replace portions of the roof for a two-year-old house! That being said, Jorve did an incredible job and were a pleasure to work with. If only all the contractors I've worked with over the years were as personable, knowledgeable and all-around great.

Sweet new roof shingles courtesy of Jorve Roofing. Our old roof was looking ratty, and gross, (thanks to the Pacific Northwest's less than desirable weather) and made our home look 20 years older than it really is. Thankfully, Jorve came to our rescue and with both guns blazing installed new shingles and made our roof look good as new.

Jorve is absolutely superb! Our neighbor had used them last summer to patch some weak spots on their roof and we were recommended to do the same. Naturally, we used Jorve as well last month and were so pleased with their hardwork and the results that work produced. Like I said, they are absolutely superb!

I’ve always been a fan of trees, until one had the gall to fall on the roof of my brand new, first home ever (figures). I’m so happy that I had insurance to cover the damage and even happier that I went to Jorve roofing to repair said damage. They were efficient and pleasant, treating my home with the utmost care and returning the roof to its pristine, post-stupid-tree-falling-on-it glory. If I ever have roofing needs again, Jorve will be the first guys I call!

I was in charge of locating a commercial roofer to fix up weak point in our building’s roof structure, and I knew our best option was Jorve. At first my boss was tentative about going with Jorve for repairing our roof, but I did my best to assuage his fears, I told him that their work speaks for themselves and sure enough, it did! The damage was not severe and the crew was able to patch it in a day. They were polite, courteous and had wonder sense of humor that made them a joy to work with. Totally recommended for any roofing needs!

In recent years I have noticed that a lot of Federal Way roofs were not looking so good, unfortunately mine included. Jorve roofers came in to replace the rancid-looking shingles on my roof. The process took a few days and it was really cool to come back home from work every day and see the progress they were making on the roof. I’m quite proud to say now that my roof is one of the better looking roofs in the area now!

Service questions

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
