J.E.P. Contracting Inc. was great designing and building the addition for my in-law suite. His workers and contractors were all very good and familiar with working for Patrick. The project was organized extremely well too and communication was easy and very pleasant. It was completed in a timely manner. I highly recommend this company.

Pat and his right hand man, Ryan are courteous and very skilled. Pat makes sure that the job is done to his high standards. Work that doesn’t meet those standards is redone.
Pat, the business owner is at the job site almost daily. He is very personable. They use top of the line products. Their workmanship is top notch.

The initial meet and greet was stress-free as we went over what we were looking to do on the property, Patrick was extremely professional and 100% engaged in the build from the first meet and greet, through idea sketching, design, permitting and all the way through the build process to completion.
We selected J.EP Contracting as they were able to handle the project from A-Z, from conceptual through to the end of the build. Patrick and his team were on property daily making sure things were moving along as expected. We had called JEP Contracting when we had noticed some rotting wood around our french doors in our dining room. We really were just planning on replacing the doors but due to the deck being built incorrectly and not a step down from the door frames, they had suggested bringing the deck down to the appropriate level. And we weren’t sure how much damage there was to the wood etc. We have a very large deck, wood. We decided to bite the bullet and demo the entire deck and replace w composite. I had originally planned to replace my french doors w a slider and two window panels but in the middle of the project I changed my mind and decided on a double slider, which meant we needed a large beam to hold up the second level. We also needed to redo our pantry closet which was a door to nowhere. From the start of the project, where Patrick had designed the deck and door and pantry, to the completion, everything was so smooth. Patrick was there everyday for any questions and updates and to make sure everything was running smoothly. Ryan, who is Patrick’s right hand man, was always there and did anything and everything you needed. Along w the double slider, things changed w the pantry also and had a custom made pantry closet. It was not a big deal at all for the changes. Only thing we had to wait for was the door from Anderson but sometimes stuff happens! Overall, the experience was amazing. If I had any concerns, they were addressed and I had no problems! Everything was done beautifully and I couldn’t be happier w my new doors (the dining room was also freshly painted, and half the hardwood replaced and sanded/stained), my pantry closet and my gorgeous deck! I would call JEP contracting back for any larger project I needed going forward. I would also recommend to anyone looking to remodel! Showing some before and afters.

Upon meeting with Patrick for the first time, we immediately knew that he was someone that we could trust with our home. It was apparent that he was incredibly knowledgeable about home renovation and design. He took so much time during that initial meeting, answering all of our questions and following up with us in a very timely manner.

We had a vision of what we needed for our family when we began our major home renovation. Patrick understood our requirements and helped us design our perfect layout. Through multiple meetings, onsite and from his design studio office here in Millbury, he took us step by step through the process.

Once we finished the design phase, Patrick put together a build schedule which allowed us to plan our own personal schedules. This was very important for us, and Patrick and his team did a great job at maintaining this schedule.

Communication was one of the most impressive aspects of our overall experience with J.E.P. Contracting. We have had bad luck in the past working with other folks in the construction industry in terms of communication and trust. Patrick was always in communication and kept us up to date of any issues, changes to the schedule, or upcoming events that we needed to be aware of. While it is inevitable that unexpected things will happen, what’s important is to quickly connect with the homeowner in order to advise us and come up with any new potential plans. Patrick and his team were always in touch and easily accessible, and we felt assured that our home was in excellent hands.

Handing over our home to someone for our major house renovation was scary. Working with Patrick we quickly felt comfortable and we knew that we had partnered up with the right company. Our home is now perfect thanks to Patrick and his team. It has the functionality that we needed, and the beauty that we wanted. We couldn’t be happier with the results.

It is without hesitation that I recommend JEP Contracting and Patrick Perkins as an excellent design build contractor. With rough sketches drawn on graph paper in hand, I reached out to Patrick in the fall of 2022 to interpret them to design and build the art and pottery studio of my dreams. Throughout the next winter he turned those rough sketches into thoughtfully engineered, feasible blueprints with which he successfully arranged and represented our project at the Zoning Board meeting in mid-January. By the end of February, with the Zoning Board approval and appeal period past us, Patrick dove in to finalizing the design. He kept me in the loop, reaching out about everything from roof lines to waste disposal, as each element of the project was considered. Patrick deftly handled everything involved in the application for a building permit and with it approved by the end of April we were ready to go.
The new design is basically a fancy two car garage – except there is an art studio on one side and a garage on the other. We also included a concrete sidewalk beside the structure and a concrete apron in front of the building. As such, the project included many phases of construction from the demolition of the old cinder block garage, excavation of the rocky ground beneath it, and tree work before concrete footings could be poured and the framing begun. Different than a garage, work encompassed in the new studio included installing a heat pump, hot running water, specialized trap for clay, bathroom, recessed lighting, custom windows, and an electric overhead door on the garage side. Patrick executed the design work for each of these components with excellent communication and flexibility, taking care to discuss pricing and timeline for the many options.
Once we had arrived at most of the decisions, work was underway in late spring and continued through the summer and early fall. For shared scheduling purposes, Patrick developed an online BuildBook construction planner for the project, through which I could track progress and know what to expect at each phase of construction. The online planner includes a chat feature where I could add questions and concerns, which were promptly responded to by Patrick or his able assistant, Ryan. Respectful communication is clearly an ideal for JEP Contacting as is evidenced in the log of entries in the online planner.
With all these components of our project there were many different sub-contractors in and out of the yard. Thanks to the online planner, we knew who to expect and when. This was especially helpful when crews worked on the weekend so we could plan driveway use around them. All the sub-contractors were respectful, polite, and friendly. We grew accustomed to their knocks on the back door if they had to go inside the house to check the hook-ups or other considerations. Most of all, each group consistently worked hard. Because it was summer, a few of them brought their teenagers to work since they weren’t in school. While the teens worked hard in the menial yet necessary tasks they were assigned, it was clear in their fathers’ watchful eyes that they took pride in sharing their expertise and in fostering a positive work ethic in their kids. I know this isn’t the kind of thing one typically reads in construction reviews, but it speaks to the ethos of traditional values created by Patrick in all aspects of managing his company.
Finally, when I received the Certificate of Completion in mid-October 2023, I couldn’t have been more pleased in the final product. The art and pottery studio of my dreams is right outside my door thanks to the design and build talents of Patrick Perkins and JEP Contracting!

We highly recommend J.E.P. Contracting. We had JEP remodel our kitchen and add new flooring throughout our first floor. from the start the owner, Patrick Perkins met with us, discussed our needs and wants, and provided a clear scope for the project. Patrick's no pressure approach made what could have been a daunting task much easier. The process started with Patrick developing a design with us that met our needs before anything happened. He was patient as we worked through several iterations and budget decisions. In addition Patrick developed a schedule that allowed us to see when each task would be finished, which let us schedule our life around the milestones.

Daily Patrick communicated status updates and met the variouse trades people at our home. Over the course of the project we had multiple trades people doing demolition, electrical, plumbing, drywall, flooring, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry work. The trades people were professional and respectful to our home and did quality work.

Once started the project progressed nicley. Throughout the process we worked with Patrick discussing everything from choosing the right tile, flooring, materials and finishes. Not only did the project proceed as expected and planned it stayed within budget.

We are most thankful that we called Patrick at J.E.P. Contracting and are more than thrilled with the results. We would not hesitate to work with J.E.P. Contracting in the future.

Pat is a rare find as a contractor: he is honest, does the highest quality work, and completes things when he says he will. Pat worked closely with me on a complete basement renovation. He was open to my design ideas, while professionally guiding me to make cost-effective and practical decisions. When delays inevitably arose, he was transparent about the reasons for them, and clear about the revised timeline. When a small error happened (I changed my mind last minute about the color of grout but that wasn't communicated to the people laying the tile) Pat graciously absorbed the cost and trouble of re-grouting my backsplash. Pat is exceedingly professional, personable, and someone I genuinely enjoyed getting to know while I was renovating my home. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

In 2012, JEP Contracting built an addition to our house. Before that, they dug a trench around the house and upgrade our drainage. It solved the problem! Prior to the work, our cellar and garage were constantly taking on water during heavy rain. We haven’t had any flooding since the work in 2012. As I type this on July 26, we are still dry despite receiving more than a foot of rain this month!

I would like to start off by saying I have lived at my residence for 30 years without a problem with water. 2 years ago J.E.P. started a job at my neighbour's home. About a year ago they hired a tree company out of Millbury to remove multiple trees at this time they broke two supporting Poles to my fence and broke a few pickets off. I ask the tree company to replace them he told me to take it up with JP contractors AKA Patrick. Patrick said he would take care of it never did .He then moved mounds of dirt which I immediately had a water issue I have had to put in 3 sub pumps and 2 dehumidifiers I went to the town and they told me there was nothing I could do until the dirt was moved back. A few months ago the dirt was moved back and regraded toward my house and I am still having a water issue 24/7 my electricity bill has doubled and I am literally living on a Lake I have lived here for many years without any problem now my well is being affected and my water pressure is being affected and I have to change my water filter every 2 weeks it is submerged with mud. The building inspector had a meeting with Patrick and advised him not To put a surface drain in heading toward my property it will cause us more of a problem and that it wouldn't be a good idea... Patrick did it anyway against the advice of the building inspector not only am I getting the new surface drain water I am getting his sump pump water from the opposite side of the yard with ruts continuously moving water toward my home. How could a good person with a conscience cause a horrible problem and refused to listen to the inspector his actions are beyond disgraceful. I now have hired attorney with a $10.000 retainer and have a civil matter on my hands which could have been avoided talk about incompetence shaking my head...

This is our second major job with Patrick and JEP. He is fantastically organized, and in continuous contact with us about every step in the process. He is attentive to details and expects the highest quality from all his workers and subcontractors. Would absolutely use again.

This is the 2nd time we’ve personally used Patrick’s services... we were away when we had a huge problem with our property and needed work done immediately....we’d used Patrick before for a total kitchen and bath renovation, so we knew he was our go-to guy...he jumped in and handled the whole project from start to finish..
