When you're in need of a contractor, it can be a challenge to find a reliable one. An appliance failure led me to have to replace the flooring in my kitchen. Fortunately for me, a good friend recommended Tim Stokes and his team. I found Tim to be highly professional and he *responded to all my communications*. He closely monitored the project from beginning to end, and made it clear that if there were any problems, he would stand by his work. His crew was highly competent, their work met the highest standards and they were personable and polite. Also, for me, the icing on the cake was that Tim has extensive experience working with insurance companies and stepped in to handle the detailed piece of the negotiations, which more than doubled the claims payout and relieved me of having to get into the weeds. If I were to rank Tim Stokes on a five star scale, I'd give him a six.

We recently purchased a home that needed a fresh coat of interior paint and ceiling repair, and a warmer color palette of our choosing. Because of the complexity of the space (cathedral ceilings, skylights, and difficult areas to access), we needed a professional to do the job. Tim was able to accommodate us with a good crew, an impressive set up of scaffolding and gear, and a careful sealing and protection of areas from unwanted paint and dust. We were anxious to move in, and he kept us to a fairly reasonable schedule, despite winter snow and cold weather. We’re now moved in and happy with the results.

My wife and I were very happy with their service. We needed two bedrooms created in our existing bonus room. What impressed us the most was the communication and promptness. Every time they said they would be here they were. They were always on time and kept great communication throughout the whole process. They went above all expectations including helping one morning when the garage started retaining water. I will definitely be using them moving forward and highly recommend them.

Professional service at it's best. James was a calming presence in the midst of my move to a new home. After painting the entire interior, as is the usual practice of this company, the painter James returned to inspect the job and do touch up of any marks, dents, dings etc that were left by the movers and appliance installers. I am looking forward to working with this Tim Stokes again.

J Stokes Contractors painting division just finished painting the house, barn, and potter's shed. Tim, Shawn, Elio and Esteban were fantastic--a professional job from start to finish. The two painters arrived early every day, stayed late when needed in order to finish off any section, and they were meticulous in their work from scraping and sanding prep and primer, to two coats of paint as we planned. This is the second job I've utilized J Stokes for in the past 8 months--they are true professionals. By the way, they discovered about 6 places with water damage/rot and replaced the wood trim quickly and in a seamless fashion.

My wife and I couldn't have been more impressed with the job they did. From the initial inspection all the way through it was the most professional, kind, and clean job we've ever had done. Everything they were doing and were going to do was made very clear and understandable. Punctuation was top notch and that is my biggest pet peeve with contractors so they scored a 10/10 in my book. The guys showed up early and ready to work at the exact time they said they would. That's huge in my book. We will be using them for all of our home projects moving forward.

I had my hot water heater burst and ruin my basement. J Stokes Contractors came in and were extremely helpful, courteous and professional. I know nothing about renovating and Tim was so helpful breaking down a plan of action and explaining things in a way that wasnt overwhelming. Every person who had a hand in fixing my basement was kind, on schedule and put pride into their work. I absolutely recommend this company to anyone who needs a contractor.

Tim and Rob at J. Stokes Contractors are excellent at what they do!!! We have a severely neglected family house that was in need of repair, update and care. Tim came in, made a plan and delivered on it!! He and Rob were professional, communicative, on time with completing work, and literally transformed our "Addams Family" house into a home!!!
