I’ve known for a while that my roof needed to be replaced, but have dreaded the thought of dealing with the hassle. My neighbor had J & K working on their home so I asked Jeff from J & K for an estimate. I couldn’t be happier! I am very happy and satisfied with the workmanship and professionalism of J & K Home Improvement and Restoration. The roof, siding, gutters, and downspouts on our house were damaged by a severe hail storm that hit my area on February 27, 2024. We also had water damage in one of our bedrooms as a result of the damage to the roof. J & K's Project Manager (Joe) was great!! The roofers, siding specialists, gutter & downspout workers, and painters were great and did excellent work. J & K helped us file a claim with our insurance company. J & K worked with our insurance company to ensure we received an estimate that covered all of the repairs. J & K helped us select GAF shingles for the new roof, James Hardie siding, gutters, downspouts, and Benjamin Moore Aura interior paint. J & K went the "second mile" to help us and completely repair our house to our satisfaction. We are very happy with J & K and their teams. They were great!!

An exceedingly efficient project was managed by Justin Garcia. He performed the inspection of our roof after a high wind storm hit our neighborhood a few weeks ago. The storm related damage was estimated from Justin’s pictures and report, and J & K submitted the estimate to the insurance company. It was not a surprise that the insurer would not cover the damage cost based on Justin’s honest advice during the inspection. Justin arranged a very timely repair service performed by an experienced J&K roofing contractor (Miner/Minor), and subsequently came back to inspect the completed work and document it through pictures. Without hesitation, I would recommend Justin and J&K for any exterior services needed. Justin is punctual and keeps his commitments.

Our home was damaged in a storm in May. We chose to go with J& K Home Improvement for all our needs over numerous other contractors: roof, siding, gutters, downspouts, and window wraps. We could not be happier that we did. From start to finish all the teams, led by Joe Kim, were professional and very skilled. All of them seemed to enjoy their work and working with each other. Once their work was complete they did an excellent job cleaning up the job site. The work was completed as promised-on time, and on budget. Joe Kim was excellent as the project manager. At the completion of each work phase Joe was there to inspect it and answer any questions. He did the same immediately after the last phase was completed. I can't say enough good things about J&K Home Improvement and Restoration! We recently needed a roof replacement, siding replacement and repair, and gutter and downspout replacement due to some storm damage. From the very beginning, J&K impressed us with their reputation, and backed it all up with their execution.

Our sales representative, Joe, was fantastic. He was professional, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. Unlike some other contractors we spoke with, Joe wasn't pushy, questionable, or aggressive at all. He patiently explained everything and was very understanding that we were getting quotes from other companies. What truly set him apart was his expertise in dealing with unique insurance claim situations, his transparency, and even his advice! He was able to answer all our questions and made the entire process much smoother, and made us feel like he had our best interest in mind.

After almost a year of my parents trying to get someone to fix their roof and companies never responding because the job was not "big enough", J & K not only had exceptional communication but completed the job in 3 hours. Everything is great with the roof and the siding looks amazing!!! Jerry Anderson was extremely polite, professional and new exactly how to deal with the nightmare that is the insurance company. No matter how big the job is in the future they have got our business.

A garage roof leak led to some wet wood hidden within one wall (The garage is fully dry-walled.) which in turn led to a carpenter ant infestation that also stayed hidden until it was too late. Significant water and ant damage required repair to framing members, replacement of insulation and drywall, and replacement of a low-slope modified bitumen roof. (Including some of the sheathing and fascia boards.)
I lined up an independent carpenter and a separate roofing company, and I know they could have done the job, but I’d have had to coordinate two contractors on a job where there could not be any delay between the carpentry work and the roof replacement, and I didn’t want that hassle. As a general contractor, J&K had all of the trades needed for the job, and since my son recommended them to me after having them do some work on his home, I let them handle everything.
J&K was responsive to my request for quote. James immediately came over to look at the job and soon thereafter submitted a quote with enough detail to convince me that he understood all that would need to be done. That gave me confidence.
I’m experienced enough to know the difference between very good work and merely adequate (or worse!) and they did very good work for a fair price. Yes, I recommend them.

Some of our vinyl siding appeared to be popping out so we requested a quote for repairing it. John happened to be in our area for another job so he swung by to take a look and fixed it for us at no charge since it was a quick fix. He even recommended some things we can do ourselves to maintain some other planks that are chipped without having to replace the full thing. That was very generous and we was very professional and knowledgeable. Will definitely go back to J & K if we ever need more work done on our siding or roof.

From the day we were introduced to J&K by our home insurer, we were very impressed. John assisted us by promptly providing the necessary information to our insurer to get the claim successfully addressed. He guided us through the material selection process for the roof, siding, and gutters, and coordinated the ordering of materials and the scheduling of the necessary tear-off and replacement activities. Everything went according to the established schedule. The work was of high quality, and John promptly responded to and enthusiastically addressed every question and area of concern that we had. We were particularly impressed with J&K's employees' friendliness, courtesy, work ethic, and attention to detail. And, finally, given the extreme heat we have been experiencing this summer, I am very happy to note that John expressed concern for the welfare of the workers, and he accommodated their requests for breaks even though it was likely disruptive to the overall schedule. John came out and performed an inspection after a recent windstorm. Later that day, John had his foreman come out and tarp the roof in case it rained. Once the insurance company estimated for the roof, J&K came out in an extremely timely manner and had my roof replaced in 1 day. the next day, they came out and replaced all of the gutters. J & K did a great job with our siding installation. We had both our garage and extension redone and are incredibly happy with the results. The crew got the job done on time and it all came out looking great. We had some concerns over how our fence and railing would be put back together given that they had to be taken slightly apart to fit the siding behind them, but the guys did everything perfectly. I used J&K Home Improvement & Restoration to do a tear off and replacement on my garage roof. I believe they sent a subcontractor because the job was poorly executed: 100’s of nails protruding through my open eaves around the entire garage, sloppy work, shingled over rotted wood( and missing wood) on eaves even though they claimed to have used 3 4’by 8 ply wood sheets and 16 1” by 12” pine boards measuring 12 feet long, sloppy caulking around the siding they replaced on the dormer and little clean up; I am still picking up nails around my property. They did return to fix the caulking and replace the wood and shingles in the worst areas. They said nothing could be done about all the nails coming through my eaves, so they discounted the price by $200. I would rather not have all those nails so visible, but I will just live with it. When it comes time to paint the eaves, I will not be able to use a roller to paint them because of all the nails and will have to paint it all with a brush taking so much more time. The sales representative was a great guy, but the actual job is terrible.
I would never recommend them for any job. I only chose them because they were GAF certified and I wanted the warranty. In contrast, I hired Interlock Metal Roofing to do my home (thankfully) and they were absolute pros; not one nail protruding the open eaves around my home, expert installation and amazing clean up. In retrospect, I am sorry I didn’t hire them to do the garage. I guess it’s true: we live and learn

I was blown away by the professionalism and care from J&K Home Improvement. Mike made it a point to meet me in person and discuss the entire proposal understanding I knew next to nothing about roofs. The other three competitors did none of this. Mike went over each and every detail about the job. When it came to the actual installation, the crew showed up at 7:30AM and didn't leave the job site until every scrap in the yard was picked up ending at approximately 8:30PM. They hustled all day to ensure the job was done within a day and it was greatly appreciated. I also appreciated that this work wasn't subcontracted out like some other companies do. Mike came back the next day and got up on the roof to check everything out. Mike answered questions promptly, was present on site, and made sure I felt comfortable with every decision made. Again, I was blown away by the professionalism, attention to detail, and earned trust from J&K Home Improvement. I will recommend them to anyone who needs roofing help.

James kept in touch and made sure any questions we had were answered promptly. We were even able to change our roof color choice fairly late in the process. Job completion was on exact promised day and was finished within hours and the results are outstanding. James even helped us to fix a side vent/trim that had been coming loose. J & K Home Improvement & Restoration were absolutely great. My contact, John, was a tremendous help after a tree fell on my garage and roof to fix some holes, fascia, and replace the gutters. They were quick, on-time, and explained all the work and the costs clearly. Also, they were knowledgeable about the insurance claiming process. Although it didn't end up being a problem, John offered to discuss any issues directly with my insurance.

J&K provided great service and in a timely manner. James came out to get measurements and provide an estimate to replace our old wood siding on a dormer. Once we approved the work James was out again with samples. Within a few weeks the crew was here and worked quickly and efficiently to get the siding up. There was no mess left behind and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them and work with them again in the future.

When you call ask for Joe Kim. He estimated and supervised all of the work J&K did on my 1920's 2 flat. This included the removal of old siding, installation of new siding and basement windows as well as installation of new soffit and gutters. J &K's crews did all the work competently and as promised and detailed in their proposals. They have large crews so they can get what might seem like a big job done relatively quickly.
I've been a home inspector for 15 years so I know that the work was done following best practice. I highly recommend this company.

J&K Home Improvement & Restoration replaced my home Skylights. I asked J&K to provide a quote. After signing the quote, they scheduled a date/time. They did an excellent job and the new Skylights are installed. J&K came back for the inside and restored the drywall and painted. Very professional.

This company was recommended by my insurance company to correct the errors and sloppy workmanship caused by the company I originally hired to handle renovations needed when water damaged the floors in my home. The previous company damaged doors and several pieces of trim and after installing a new floor, damaged a few areas of the new floor. There were several areas that were caulked sloppily and some pieces of trim had been reinstalled but were now too short. I believe the original company damaged the bottom of the trim and then cut off the damaged area and used caulk to fill in the gap.

My insurance company asked John Lee from J & K for an estimate to correct the issues. John took pictures of all the items requiring repairs. He submitted a quote to the insurance company which was approved. John accompanied the crew and went over all the things that needed attention. His men took care to protect my floors while they replaced and painted trim. The crew did impeccable work and cleaned everything up nicely. I wish J & K had been hired to do the restoration in the first place. I highly recommend John and his crew. They were outstanding!

In a day when it’s difficult to know who to trust to do your home repair, I was extremely pleased with the work that J & K Home Improvement did on the roof replacement and associated work on my garage. J&K replaced our roof, shutters & front door. A+++ Great communication & follow up. They did a excellent job, quick & efficient. They made sure everything was cleaned up and we were satisfied before they left. J&K exceeded my expectations!

We first went to J&K for a new roof. They did a great job. After the job, we found trash in the yard from the roofer and called them about it. They came back right away and picked up all the trash. We went back to them this year to replace our old cedar siding with Hardie board. Again they did a great job. The pricing is fair and if you’re not happy with the work, they try their best to resolve it. The project manager was very on top of things too. I highly recommend using J&K.

J&K completely replaced the front of our Tudor front home (soffit, facia, cement fiber stucco board and 1 by boards, window trim and caulking). The house looks brand new from the street! The crew was great! They were organized, professional, cleaned up every day and definitely took pride in their work as evidenced by the finished product.
