I paid Josh $6000 up front to begin a remodel on a small apartment. At first, he was untimely but was at least somewhat responsive. To start, I rented a dumpster for 1 week since this was his estimate to get the demo completed. This 1 week turned into 4 and cost me nearly $1000 in total for a dumpster rental. Several weeks into the project, he kept saying he would pick up the materials I paid for but never did. I eventually had to pick them up myself and drop them at the site. Eventually, he requested an additional $1800 because he needed to get more materials - the materials I had already paid for. This was a lie as he eventually admitted he needed the money to get his vehicle fixed. Yet another lie, I'm sure, as he showed up in his vehicle to get more money from me and it didn't appear to have anything wrong with it. Several weeks later I found him passed out in the back of the property when I went to go check on progress. Not sure if he was drunk or high, but I had to shake him aggressively to wake him. Very unprofessional, so DO NOT HIRE. Overall, my renovation has been delayed by nearly 4 months. All there is to show for months of "work" and nearly $9000 out of my pocket is a very poor demolition and the apartment being in much worse shape than it was in originally.
This was my first time working with Josh and I found him to not only be a genuinely nice guy but also reliable and knowledgeable. He responded promptly to my PMs, handled everything on my to-do list, and charged fairly. He did the little extra things that showed that he cared and took pride in a job well done.
Josh and Jessie were both great, friendly, and very helpful. They fixed a bunch of issues with one of our bedroom windows.
Josh let me know he was on the way, and gave me a very reasonable quote. I will be keeping his card and sharing it with all my friends.
