We had some old rotten wooden post that needed to replaced. Mike came out and discussed several options. He put our mind at ease that the aluminum was the way to go. It has been a great upgrade to our porch and couldnt thank this company enough. Look forward to future projects with Italy American

We had a large cement patio installed and everything went like clockwork. From the design to the pouring of the cement and finally the cuts and caulking, all of the workers were obviously the top in their trade. We couldn't be happier!!

Italy American did a beautiful job for us in repairing and partially remodeling our garage. We needed to get the work done as soon as possible, in advance of predicted worsening weather. Their team worked hard to get the job done in a very timely manner, earlier than promised and with attention to detail to make sure the job was done right. We would use their services again.

Had a positive experience so far with Italy American! From the initial call, the receptionist was lovely and our interactions with Michael have been prompt and pleasant and the roofer they had come out gave us good info and a quick solution to a larger problem. He patched up a problem area for us while we make decisions about a larger roofing need and didn’t charge us for the small work. We are in communication with the sales staff now for quotes on a full roof come spring and we hope to do our future work with Italy American. I can’t speak to fully completed projects just yet but if you’re considering IAC, I would recommend giving them a call to discuss your needs.

Mike, Dominic, and Sandro worked diligently to repair exterior foundation issues in a thorough and timely manner. They were professional, honest about the updates needed, and fair in pricing. Mike and his team also replaced and updated my gutter system, and even sent out a plumbing company a few weeks after the work was complete to ensure systems were working correctly. I would highly recommend IAC for your next home project!

I hired Italy American for a garage and driveway - both turned out beautifully. I just wish I had better things to say about the process. During the 6 month ordeal, we were rage-quit on by a project manager, the second project manager didn't bother to visit the job site until they did unannounced during the last month, and we mostly working with a sales rep who truly did their best. We were gaslit and over-promised on project timelines (of which we never received in writing despite being offered and promised), there was inconsistent or no communication when workers would be on-site nor when materials would be delivered. Nearly every day was a surprise, making it feel like I had a second job staying on top of their team. Timelines stretched and so did budgets, but most were out of their control and we anticipated it - construction is construction.

However, where they really erred (and why this is two stars) was offering to help with water drainage and install an exterior sump pump, which was originally going to be completed with another vendor. They were not in control of their landscaper who made independent decisions outside of Italy and our agreed-upon plans, were not able to complete the work as promised (including having the electrical run underground, so we have a horrible pole in the middle of the yard now), did not have miss dig come out before digging trenches on the side of the house, used sub-par materials, and made grading decisions - the latter of which the landscaper later told me he wasn't really qualified to do.

After being told for a month that we were the problem, in-fighting, and asserting that there weren't water issues (during the driest month of the year) based on their surprise drop bys, they acquiesced to do what we wanted, but made it clear we were going against their recommendations and while they offered to come and fix it after we proved that we were in fact going to have water issues, I had completely lost confidence. In addition, because of their poor communication and changed landscaping plans without our knowledge, we also weren't able to set up our downstream projects up for success, including fence install, grading, and sod install. We had to spend several thousand dollars redoing work and several thousand more fixing the shoddy work, of which Italy American refused to provide a partial refund for and when things got tense (initially by a frustrated me), they told me to prove it, they would gladly see us in court over the refund request.

While the vast majority of their trades are talented and our garage and driveway are beautiful, it was a really sour end to what was such a promising project. The company's communication was a nightmare, we were consistently unable to get accurate information, and by the end we felt like the gum at the bottom of their shoe. To add insult to injury, we paid nearly six figures for that "honor".

I can't in good conscious recommend them to anyone.

We really appreciate everything they have done for us. They remodeled our bathroom, did our garage, sided our house and a new porch. Not one complaint. Michael is very helpful and would highly recommend

We had a fantastic experience from the meet and greet to the completion of our project. Mike and Dominic kept us informed with every step. Alfredo and Tim were very helpful and professional. We couldn’t be happier.

Worse financial disaster that I’ve ever made! I personally highly recommend that if you are considering this company for your construction project, please do your research and have a lot of excess money available. My wife and I found Italy American at the Novi home show in February of 2024 as we were looking for a garage addition or pole frame building. So after an initial consultation with a sales representative to go over what we wanted in our garage, I was given a verbal estimate of $98,000 +/- $10,000. Well after the plans were drawn up and the new quote came in, NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!! With everything that I wanted in the building, it was closer to $150,000 to $160,000. But it gets even worse. I was told that the cost of the plans was $2,500 and would be subtracted from the total cost as long as I was going to use Italy American, which I was planning on it. I had to pay for the plans before I would get an accurate price, which I totally understand. Once the architect showed up on the premises to take photos and measurements, I paid the now $4,000 for the plans, I was still ok with it since it came out of the total cost of the project. (98k +/- 10k). So after the financial disappointment, the architect made some pretty significant changes to get the price down to I believe $117,000. Also, I was told at two different times that the plans have been submitted to the lumber yard for pricing, 100% a lie. So after being lied to 4 times, I decided to cut my losses of $4,000 for a useless piece of paper. Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake and DON’T make the same.

One of my friends at work recommended Italy American Construction when I needed to fix my old home. They repaired my chimney and concrete driveway beautifully in a short period of time. They are honest and reliable along with a good communication with their customers. Italy American Construction is one of the trusted companies and I highly recommend them.

Had a plumbing problem and needed immediate service. They were able to find someone to come out to fix our problem and replace a toilet for us. The service was great and we are very pleased with the job.

I had water damage in my house that was related to a breakdown in the mortar outside. This was noticed just before the Xmas holidays. Mike worked with me to get a crew out to the house within a couple of days to repoint the brick in several areas of the house preventing further damage. The service Mike provided was exceptional and so appreciated.

Edit for second time my grandmother's used these guys. They did a good job on my grandma's porch. They came to put grass seed out and the guy after them poured his left over concrete on the dirt. The screen door was put on backwards. They replaced it with a cheaper door and didn't fill in the screw holes.

First time: They remodeled my grandmother's bathroom a while ago. Asked them specifically to use ball valves and cut out the old valves for shut offs and not to use shark bites. They used shark bites in the worst locations. The quater turn shut off is in the wall, there is no extra space for repair. They recommended a toilet that looked . Tried to install a bidet today, the rubber grommet to hold the toilet seat on is broken. Can't make any repairs without pulling the toilet. There is no space to access the hardware, or even take the top half off. The only other complaint is the single tile used as a shelf. Thanks for the headache.

Edit after business response: They didn't do what I asked them to do, the original valves are still installed. I asked for them to be removed.. The sharkbite is in the wall for the shut of so breaking into the wall is necessary to make a repair, and a leak will go unoticed. the problem is, they selected a toilet that is difficult to work on with the specific design. This kind of response from the business owner is all you need to know about them.

I have hired Italy American Construction do multiple projects on each of the last 3 homes we have purchased. The most recent was a concrete project that has greatly improved the aesthetics and functionality of our home. They did excellent, timely and professional work. We have had numerous compliments from our neighbors on the quality of work and the professionalism of the crew. I highly recommend Italy American Construcion.

Company will not fix any issues they made after construction. A year after steps were installed one of them began to fall apart. They refused to correct the work, claiming it was because I put salt on them. We are in Michigan and only one step was falling apart not the others and I only put salt on it ONCE. They also used horrible sub-contractors. The electrician they used failed inspection 3 times and the light they installed was no centered. I let it go because I was tired of dealing with them at that point. Now 7 years later I'm getting the steps repaired because they are falling apart. I will add photos. NOT a good company to deal with and they don't stand by their work....or their subcontractors work. I highly recommend using somebody else.

AND their response below is exactly what I expected..notice they did not apologize for the 3 failed inspections and light that was put up wrong...don't use them..its company that puts in cement that doesn't last ONE SALT TREATMENT in Michigan. I forgot to mention they had to replace the first steps they put in a few weeks after install because those steps started to corrode...and NO SALT was applied. It was poor workmanship and your customer service is awful. You use the "salt clause" as an out from poor craftsmanship.

Your house is the most expensive investment you will make. Therefore, you will want only the best company to work on your home. For this reason, we select Italy American Construction to do all of our work. They have renovated our basement, our kitchen, our front porch and roof, and many other projects. The craftsmen are skilled and knowledgeable. Their work is meticulous, and the attention to detail is amazing. They have great communication in understanding our vision for our house.
I would recommend Italy American without reservation.

Needed to update the rear stairs coming down from the patio door, created a small landing and step. The entire team was professional and responsive and the work was extremely high quality. Even ensured that the same brick was used to match the house. They also did a porch rebuild at a previous house and after 25 years, it looked brand new still. Highly recommend.

I had a garage installed in Spring of 2021. Mike was great, and the work on the garage met and exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, during the winter of 2022 the approach to my garage cracked. I notified Mike and an arrangement was made to address the issue over the summer, but there was no response since then.

Great family and family owned company! I had cleaned my gutters late in November and found out that I had some fascia board rotting, causing "issues" close to the upcoming holidays. Well after quoting other companies, IAC quoted the same low price, but scheduled me 2 months earlier than competitors, because IAC had other work a few blocks away and could (and did) finish the job in less than 2 days. WOW!

They.are by far the best construction company that I have to worked with. If a problem came up they solved it in the same day. The construction of my garage is superior and durable. They went above and beyond what any other construction company would do. Paul Bob and Mark was very polite and followed up on everything. I really appreciate all they did and would recommend them to everybody. The price was great where as other companies quotes were high. Italy American was the lowest price for better quality work. That’s what I call a company that cares. Edit: They did my kitchen added more cabinets another countertop with another sink, microwave, dishwasher , a butcher block table, floating shelves said it would take 3 days to do it all they did it in two days and did another great job few issues as normal still made sure it was fixed quick great company. Tried to add photos had an error looks fantastic though

A little over a year ago a tree fell on my garage. It was a nightmare shopping around looking for Contractors. Half of them didn't show up and if they did, the bill was crazy. Once I called Italy America Construction it was painless. Everyone was super nice and easy to deal with.Mike was great, He helped to start the project and then I dealt with Mark for the rest of the time, he was awesome. Every time I called, if I left a message or if he seen that I called he would call me back. And on top of everything the price was perfect. I will use them anytime I need anything done from now on.

I had some issues with the construction all throughout from the sales to the final payment now that they got their money they don't want anything to do with the problems I'm left with Recommend going to another company. I since then have received a phone call due to this review and would like to extend that they are trying to make me happy.

Received a call from Brandy, 37 minutes before my appointment time today with Paul at 11am, to be informed that Paul wouldn't be able to make the appointment. I was told I could reschedule for next week. Not later this week, but next week for an appointment that was canceled by the company 37 minutes before appointment time. I am highly dissatisfied with their unprofessionalism. Fortunately, because I am looking for work to be done, Jim from Onsite in Livonia, came out yesterday and was able to look at the job. I guess there is no comparison needed. If anyone needs a prompt and professional contractor with good communication, contact Onsite of Livonia.

Best construction company I’ve ever hired. Michael is very professional, he makes sure to give you all the details before starting any project. He is very responsive to any communication and always available to answer any question . Staff are very nice and friendly. The quality of the material and the labor is outstanding as well as the customer service. I highly recommend the company.

I'm writing this review while enjoying a cup of coffee on our beautiful quartz peninsula, built by Italy American Construction. This is just one of the new additions installed in our wonderful new kitchen!

From the initial conversation with Mike Mastroianni, to the finished product, we were extremely happy with Italy American. Our new kitchen is beautiful, and the process was safe, professional, and thorough. Mike was very respectful of our wants and needs, and he provided many options and suggestions to satisfy our every request. He kept us up to date with daily communication and/or pictures, which was very helpful.

The crew couldn't be more professional and courteous, and they met every deadline. As a family of 4, including a 4 and 2 yr old, it was very important that the job was completed in a timely and safe manner. Also, the job was scheduled during the holiday season, but these factors were a never a problem. Mike and his workers were also dedicated to abiding by all the Covid-19 protocols and regulations. Through these circumstances, their professionalism never wavered, and the new kitchen is gorgeous.

We are planning to redesign our outdoor living space; we WILL be hiring Italy American Construction.

Italy American installed new house and garage roofs for us -- the third time they've done so on two different houses over a period of some 30 years. Their advice, assessment, and pricing were excellent, as was the quality of the work that was done by their very competent and professional crew. I would not hesitate hiring this company to do other work around our home in the future.

I just got a $30k estimate from this company to repair a deck (mind you not build from scratch, simply repair), repair a couple of steps broken, and restore three basement windows. I got a quote for the deck from another group of carpenters for $5300 to have the deck completely rebuilt (tore down and rebuilt from the ground up). So where did the extra $25k come from? When I asked for an itemized list, the guy said he was too busy. Why waste time coming out in the first place? Something fishy. Don't call if you want reasonable prices if you are a young "urban" homeowner.

We recently had Italy American build us a new garage. I was absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. The crew was very polite, respectful and the clean up was spotless. Both my neighbors used them to build their garages too, so 3 in a row!

work is not done by the company, hires outside random contractors with no history. left the work in shambles, will not come back to fix it. the owner TONY, yelled at us until we paid him most of the payment leaving a percentage until he comes back. will not come back to the project.

Italy American recently built a new concrete porch with a step rail and a new walkway for my home; everything came out wonderful. All the workers were polite and professional.

I had siding and gutters installed last September, paying a substantial price for what I hoped would be a high-quality job with a reputable company. Nine months later, on a clear day with no wind, the siding started falling off my house. I have sent photos and had repeated phone conversations every few days for the past two weeks with the receptionist who passes my message along and assures me that someone will come to fix it, but nobody has contacted me or come out.

I have used Italy American Construction Company for several projects over the years, and have never been disappointed. My most recent project was a door to block cold from an added on room. The workman was professional, arrived on time, did the job, cleaned up, and left.

I love the door... and when I opened it this morning to let my dog out, the room felt like outside. The door did its job!

I had a very positive experience working with Italy American to build a detached garage at my house in Oak Park in Summer 2019. Mike was highly professional, responsive, and transparent throughout the process. Pricing was competitive, all work was completed in a timely manner, and I am truly pleased with the quality of the service and product. Absolute professionalism. A real breath of fresh air after an awful experience with Miller Garage the prior year.

Years ago we had them for doing a great job transforming and moving a kitchen, dining room and bathroom area.

We were very happy with the work.

The reason for lower stars is due to the frustration when where we recently needed some other work done related to an insurance claim.

So much for customer loyalty, after spending 10s of thousands of dollars.

They want to charge us $100+ for an estimate. Really? Wow

I would expect that a company would show some appreciation, and wave a small fee, less than 2 percent of a prior project with a loyal customer.

This is the second time I used Italy American for a major home renovation and I couldn't be happier. I had a new driveway and garage done a few years ago and more recently a roof replacement. The work was done beautifully and in a timely manner. Even the clean-up was done efficiently, you would have never known there was construction done in my yard. I highly recommend Italy American.

Had them pour a concrete patio and a pad for our camper. I dealt with several people there and every single one was professional and knew what they were doing. They made follow up phone calls and visits to make sure I was happy with the work. Top notch, all the way from the person answering the phones to the person who collected my payment.

We built a carport attached to our garage. IAC did a great job. We like the quality of the materials used, fit and finish. Todd, Chuck and few others that were onsite to complete the work were great workmen. Mike was the main point of contact for the job. Delivered everything on time and budget.

Fantastic!!! Italy American Construction did an awesome job on my new patio and overhang. Tom came out and listen to what I wanted to do and put my vision to paper. Dustin and Frank overseen the project and that it was done right. Cement, carpentry, electrical and vinyl siding with gutters. All the guys are pro’s in what they do, outstanding craftsmanship. The estimate was fare and comparable with quotes I got from other companies. I went with Italy American because they made me feel comfortable and confident that they could do the job and the fact they have been in business in the metro Detroit area for over 60 years I thought they must be doing something right. I would recommend Italy American to anyone looking to have a construction project done. Thanks again guys, great work.

We had Italy American tear out our old foundation.Replace it and build a new garage. I could not be happier with the results and quality of work ! They faced a lot of challenges with all the rain we have had so far this spring/summer but Mike kept me informed on were they stood with each process. Everyone involved with the project was very professional. I would definitely use them for future projects and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have work done. 5 out of 5 stars, I would have given them 10 :-) !!! The sign they had in the front yard while constructing now hangs on the wall of my garage !! Great works guys

If I could give 10 stars I would. We had a complete removal and rebuild of our driveway and garage. From start to finish this team was impeccable. Tom the sales guys was honest and fair. Mike the project manager was amazing with communication and follow through. The outcome is beautiful!! We could not be happier. Do yourself a favor and call them, they do it all!

One star is generous for the work that was done for us.
We bought a house in march and hired Italy American the same week. We had a walk thru with the contractor and we went through everything that we wanted done to our house prior to moving in. A contract was drawn up with a time frame of 5-7 weeks. It is now June and we still haven’t moved in due to the work not being finished.
There were weeks that went by without a single thing being done. Absolutely zero communication between the people actually doing the work and Italy American. The wrong color countertops were installed and had to be changed out which delayed several other things.
The carpet I had picked was not ordered in a timely manor so I had to pick something else that “was in stock”.
However I did add a few things afterwards but it was not much more than what was already being done.
The fact that it’s been 3 months, several heated phone calls and sub par work is the reason why we will never hire or refer Italy American.

We had a great experience with Italy American Construction. We had a new driveway laid and garage constructed. I even waited a few months after the completion of the work before posting this review to ensure my satisfaction. Everyone involved with the project was professional from beginning to end. Marty our initial sales person is great and has been in the business many years. We always had a good laugh every time he came over and he was very detailed and assuring. The skill of the contractors was high level. I was amazed at their carpenter who single handled built the entire garage from scratch (no kit, just lumber) in 2 days. Weather threw off the timeline a bit but whenever there was an opportunity to jump to the next step someone was there. Any issues or concerns along the way were addressed diligently by the manager Dustin who even gave us his personal cell number for access to him. Even months after when there was a hairline surface crack in the cement they came right out to address and fix it. I always like to support local family businesses and would recommend this company as one you can put your trust in.

Great work by this Company! They just resurfaced my porch and installed an attic window. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work. The owner Frank explained everything and stayed in communication with me throughout the process. I highly recommend this Company!

Italy American rates high in accountability and integrity in my book! Here's why I rate them so high and with 5 stars.

My wife and I purchased our home in Scio Townwhip in January 2017 and did not know the age of our roof; however, we did not think we had any issues with the roof but guessed that we may need a new roof in 5-10 years. This past winter (our second winter in the house) we experienced a roof leak into our attached garage. During a recent home show in Novi, I stopped by several roofing companies to talk and determine potential contractors for replacing our roof.

Our first contractor came to the house, talked with me, examined our roof (walked the roof), told me about his company, presented their products and then provided me with their estimate (in excess of $12,000) which is reasonable and in-line with the size of our house and with what I heard from others. We also discussed the leak in the attached garage.

Our second contractor to come to our house was Italy American. Mike M. called the day prior to our appointment to start the discussion; and give me a rough estimate of the cost. Mike M. also kept me informed during the day of our appointment as to when he would arrive. After Mike M had the opportunity to check and walk our roof the first question he asked was, "Why do I want a new roof?" To my surprise, Mike believed the roof to only be 10-12 years old and not in need of replacement. Except for a minor leak around a "stink pipe" and a nail pop, Mike saw no reason for replacing the roof because it is in very good shape (no curling, no loss of shingles, no problems) and should last quite a few more years (maybe another 15 years or so).

There was no hard sell by Mike and Italy American -- only an honest appraisal of our roof and his suggestion that our roof just needs a little caulking to fix the leak.

I continued the discussion with Mike M and learned more about their company, the products they offer, and their level of quality that would go into any work that we'd contract with Italy American.

End result -- I was left with a great impression of their company -- honesty, integrity and accountability. I think I found my next home contractor for whatever job we need. Thanks, Mike M.

Worked with this company to redo our driveway and we could not have been happier!!! Everything from the quality of their work to the customer service was outstanding!! I would definitely use them for future projects and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have work done.

I don’t know what it is or what to say. But I guess this company look down on there customers. I used to think they are the best because I seen there signs around my neighbor hood as I was growing up. So I guess this company changed from how they were in the past. They are was too Over over over pricy. To build an addition it cost anywhere from $80 to max max $200 per sqft. This company want over $450 per sq ft and they say it’s normal price. I don’t recommend this company

We hired Italy American Construction (IAC) to put an addition onto our house and remodel our kitchen. IAC built the structure to the point of getting it paint ready. I painted and installed the floor. Overall, we are happy with the result and love our new home.

In spring we met with the owner, Frank. The main selling point for us was Frank told us the workers were all in-house and he didn’t use subcontractors. That is not true. We’re sure some of the workers are in-house, but it was clear others were subcontractors, most likely subcontractors IAC prefers to use regularly. All workers were very polite and professional.

Dustin was the man in charge of our project. Dustin was easy to talk to and approach with any issues as they occurred. He was very involved every step of the way. He responded with quick feedback/action to any questions/issues we had throughout the project. He made the project go smoother and we would work with him again.

IAC broke ground in late August and completed the job by Christmas. Todd and Steve were the ones that built the addition structure and tied it into the existing house. They were a pleasure to work with and they did a great job. Sharon’s Heating and Air Conditioning did a quality job on the HVAC and gas pipeline work. The electrical was installed by J/Zac Electrical. They also did a quality job. I was expecting to install the island pendants we purchased ourselves however, Tony went ahead and took care of it. Having Tony install them perfectly was truly appreciated. The siding was installed by Dave, who did a fantastic job. IAC was able to get the exact same siding we had installed a few years earlier. With the same siding and the great job Dave did, you cannot tell from the outside that an addition was put onto the house, which is exactly what we wanted.

We absolutely love our new kitchen. The cabinets were installed by John, while Mike and Joanne did the tiling for the backsplash and fireplace hearth. When it came to cleaning up after their work inside our house, Mike and Joanne were the only ones who really focused on how they left us. It was noticed and appreciated.

With every project there are cons and our biggest issue is with the company that did the drywall. When they sanded the drywall, the rest of the house was not properly sealed off. The openings to the remainder of the house were closed off by plastic sheets partially stapled to the wall and the basement was left totally exposed. The dust was everywhere in both the basement and living room. We knew some dust was inevitable, but this wasn’t just some – it was layered. We lost multiple weekends cleaning drywall dust off everything.

Other than the mess from the drywall, there were a few other areas that could have been improved upon. While we were asked to pay the price we were quoted, we were never provided with any invoices or updates. IAC did provide us with additional things originally not in our contract, likely because our project was under budget. But not knowing or being apprised of expenses throughout the project was very annoying. The price quoted and paid appeared arbitrary without this information.

In terms of the actual structure itself, the only area we were not totally pleased with is the lack of attention to the details. The fireplace wall is wider than it should have been, the air vents were not centered on the wall under the windows, and the custom-made soffit in the kitchen was a few inches longer than it should have been. These are not big issues, but they are things that did show a lack of attention to detail, especially with the price we paid for the project.

In the end, we are very pleased with the completed job. We will be looking to add a master bedroom above our garage in the future and we will ask Italy American Construction to come back and give us a quote for the next project. We would want Dustin to lead any project. It was great working with him and we hope to work with him again in the future.

Added single story addition with cathedral ceiling to our home. Mike and Dustin were very responsive and polite through the whole process. Dustin was available during all hours of the day. Craftsmanship of all trades used was great. All kept worksite clean. All issues promply addressed. Kept within reasonable tolerance of budget. Would use again. Would recommend.

Italy American recently completed building a new garage for me - and I am very pleased. Admittedly they are not the low cost provider by any means however they built the garage exactly the way I wanted and did it on time (delays only due to City of Royal Oak and DTE inspections) and on budget. I was quite specific with several aspects of the project and prompted the few key Italy team members to keep me apprised along the way. Communications were very good and proactive, advising a day or two ahead of time on which subs would be performing each task. Again, they are expensive but they do quality work and all my interactions with them were professional. They exceeded my expectations and I would hire them again.

Quality Workmanship! They built my garage 20 years ago, And it still looks brand new!! A trusted, family owned company. A rarity in today's world. I highly recommend them.

I tried to hire this company twice - despite the "water-fall" of explanations how difficult my project is, and expensive btw, they never come back with completed estimation. During second attempt to hire - I was told that estimation will cost me money, and even after my agreement to pay for it nobody contact to me and of course no estimation have been done. If this is pro work during the beginning of the project - I'm afraid even imagine what could happened later! After reading another reviews - I am happy camper that I did not hire them after all, and not going even try.

They rebuilt my mother front porch After rebuilding the front porch they had to come back out and rebuild the brick stairs since they were falling apart. Now 11 years later the stairs are falling apart again. They told my mom it fell apart the first time because she used salt on the ice. She stopped using any salt after the porch was repaired the second time. I tore the stairs apart this time.
This is what I saw when I tore the stairs apart for myself. 3/4" of sand in between the brick layers. It went brick, sand, mortar than brick.

Today Italy American appeared at the house. Asked what was going on, and when I told them. He denied that any sand was where I said it was and he claimed we were using salt and the mortar broke down. He threatened to sue me if I did not take my review down.

The trim work is siding and gutters they did a good job on that. The porch is also good work. I will change from 1 star to 2 stars for this reason. The only problem is with the stairs.

I have had two major project now done by Italy American (a complete re-roof of a 3 year old home and a new poured, stamped and colored patio). Their work is impeccable and customer service is top notch.

Specifically, the foreman of the patio project (Sandro) was amazing. Every step of the way, he checked with me to make sure I was happy, and made small modifications to the design to exceed my expectations. He was extremely friendly and polite, and went out of his way to make my son (who watched the whole project with fascination) feel a part of the process.

Dear Mr. Mastroianni and Company:

On Friday, September 1st, 2017, I, Josh M., became aware that my prior review of this business of which was posted on this website “on or about August 16, 2017” was flagged for containing inaccurate statements toward Italy American Construction’s owner and President, Mr. Frank Mastroianni and his company as well. During that review, I wrongfully stated that Italy American Construction, Inc. does “shoddy work" and has workers that "take off early” that the company and its employees “clearly do not care about their customers” and that Italy’s American’s owner and President, Mr. Frank Mastroianni, is a “snake oil salesman.” Those misguided comments were of my own opinion at the time and did not have any factual merit behind them. For that reasoning, I, Josh M. hereby fully and unequivocally retract the above statements that were clearly inaccurate on all counts. At this time, I personally, fully and sincerely apologize to Italy American’s owner and President, Mr. Frank Mastroianni, the entire Mastroianni family, and every current and former employee at Italy American Construction Inc. for any inconvenience or stress that I may have caused due to this incident in any way, shape, or form. Furthermore, my family also apologizes to all involved and fully retracts the above quoted statements as well considering the fact that I made it appear as if they also agreed with such commentary, in which they do not and have strongly condemned.

I have come to the realization that my prior review should have never been posted to begin with due to the very large amount of inaccurate information and cruel verbal attacks that were directed toward Mr. Mastroianni, his family and his employees, all comments of which were far below the belt and completely uncalled for on my part. Furthermore, I also fully acknowledge and fully regret the fact that my previous statements were highly unprofessional and offensive while being done in extremely poor taste as well. I had a very serious lapse in judgment and was extremely ignorant toward Mr. Mastroianni and his business. I now remain firmly aware that such tasteless commentary is clearly below ethical and moral standards, both online and offline. Because of this, I will be much more diligent with any future review of a business, both online and offline as well. On that note, I remain hopeful that we can move on from this incident as quickly, peacefully and professionally as possible. Lastly, as requested, I will immediately forward and personally deliver this formal retraction letter in the coming days to The Law Offices of James M. Jernigen PLLC for reviewing and documentation purposes. Thank you for your time, your patience, and understanding.

I have worked with Italy American on several projects for my home and received an excellent experience every time. They respected my home and their attention to detail went above and beyond my expectations. I wouldn't choose any other company for future projects.

Simply they don't paint. Every aspect of the job was discussed except. Before signing I asked how much extra to paint the hallway. I was told "we don't paint." I asked"how do you finish a job?" I was given a guess of$750-$900 Labour. I still believe painting is expected in a remodeling job! As 2 other quotes included painting. I wasn't trying to Get a free paint job from you(Mike). How can I get a free paint job from a company that doesn't paint or tell you up front that they don't paint. I would have spent a lot of money and had bare walls. Deceptive practice. I'm SO happy I didn't sign a contract.

Hired this company twice, the last job was for roof replacement ... they gave me a good price (best out of three quotes), did an excellent job, cleaned up afterward, and my roof looks great!

I did a porch after dealing with a nightmare bootleg contractor . Italy American accepted to take over and complete the job, they did an excellent job my house look amazing with that addition great work everyone in my neighborhood love it and people come to my door asking who did the job . you just have to make sure you put everything in writing when makings all the arrangement so there wont be any confusion or surprises at the end...

Italy American Construction recently built our 2.5 car garage, and we could not be more pleased than we are.Our salesman Mike came out to our house discussed what we wanted and worked with our budget. When construction started the cement crew came out and poured a beautiful approach and garage floor.The garage builders came out framed the garage sided it and roof it all in record time.Their electrician and plumber put the breaker box and gas line exactly were i wanted them. All of Italy American construction employees were great to deal with, but more importantly their quality of work impressed us. We have always wanted a custom garage to keep our hot rods in and now we have it. We will be having more work done on our house in the near future and for sure Italy American Construction will be the ones doing it. Joe & Kristy Attard

I had a very unique project to construct; an observatory. I spoke with a lot of contractors and felt that Italy American Construction was the only one who could take on such a challenge. To be honest, I was a bit nervous not sure if out could be pulled off. Not only did they meet my expectations, they were exceeded. The attention to detail was amazing. It turned out way better than I dreamed it could of.

Wish I could give zero stars. Absolute nightmare. A 4-6 week project took over 3 months. Crew never worked full day. Very sloppy work. Driveway was full of cigarette butts, nails & screws. A year and half later the poor construction is really starting to show. Nail pops, crooked drywall, plumbing problems. I have a 4' section of gutter that had 22 screws dumped in it. That doesn't happen on accident. Again this was a nightmare that I wish never happened.
