After a long search, Hunter Builders was recommended to me to remodel my kitchen. David Hunter and his crew exceeded my expectations in quality, workmanship and excellent communication skills. If you need someone who not only does the work but knows the ins and outs of insurance this is your guy! For me he installed all new windows on my home and an extremely fair price. For my friend he was able to help identify an opportunity to file an insurance claim she didn't realize was available and saved her thousands. David is truly the all in one package.

Inviting strangers into your home during a pandemic was an added stress on top of a remodel that was years in the making, but we were very impressed with their level of professionalism and courtesy. Our bathroom was a complete tear out and remodel and the time it took to complete surpassed our expectations(in a good way!). Poor guys have a lot more work to complete in this 50’s built house of ours :)

2.5 years after a balcony addition the roof started to leak and now there is a big hole in the ceiling. I called the contractor and he said that the warranty is up. Now I’m living with a 35k balcony addition that leaks, has boards coming up, and cracks in the drywall. This is a huge problem that I think should be repaired.

First, let me tell you this is not a bad review based on work done by these guys. This is about a call asking for an estimate which it will never happen. Why? Well..while talking about the estimate, I mentioned cabinets were coming so we needed to wait. To my surprise...and this is the reason I need to let you know, just in case, and what really shook my level of confident on them.

I was told that 9 out of 10 times you install LUXURY VINYL floating floors before kitchen Cabinets...Well, I am not sure about you but I believe this person I spoke to does not seem to be very knowledgeable about floor installs specially in Kitchens. I am not an expert in any way, but over time working on our condo, I learned a few things, and I knew this was wrong but....I wanted to give this guy the benefit of the doubt by googling it myself, and this is what I found (among thousands and all very similar)

"... Installing floors beneath your cabinets could cause wood to buckle when it tries to expand. ... Also, floating floors can't be installed under cabinets because the cabinets will be too heavy and restrict the floor from expanding and contracting. This could cause the floor to come apart."

I noticed they are members of the BBB and all their reviews have 5 stars. I do not want to doubt their work and/or ethics and the guy was very respectful. I just feel the experience you provide by doing a trade should be backed up by intellectual knowledge which is what I found lacking and a little troubled to swallow.

David and his Hunter Builders crew did an amazing job updating my new home! Dave listened closely to what I envisioned, then added his own ideas that complemented mine. The result was an incredible interior transformation from cheap builder’s-special to a beautiful updated home that I can enjoy for many years to come. This included tile work, wood flooring, painting and lighting, as well as appliance, ceiling fans and shower installations, plus coordinating kitchen cabinet and counter installs. At each step, Dave and his guys took the time to make sure everything was done right. I was especially impressed with his crew – they were friendly and treated both my home and me with total respect. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and will definitely use again.

Dave, Steve and crew were absolutely amazing when it came to my bathroom remodels. From the estimate all the way through to the finish of the install; I threw some challenges at them or at least what I thought were challenges they never missed a beat. I highly recommend these guys for any of your remodeling needs.

David Hunter and his team are fantastic! They install the new deck for me. And every step along the way he kept me apprised of their progress. He gave me a detailed estimate before hand, and stuck with it. In addition if he told me he was going to show up at a particular time he showed up right on time. I will use them going forward for any other construction needs I have!

Amazing work I was selling my home in ABQ and they painted the entire house and replaced all the carpets in the rooms, exceeded my expectations!!. On time friendly staff. Definitely recommend these guys for any work you may need on your home or business.

David and his team were top notch! We had a water-damaged floor and he took the time to creatively guide us to a solution that was within our budget. Craftsmanship was great and he was available anytime we called. We called him back for a roof issue and he scheduled within a week and knocked it out. I would highly recommend David and his team!

We appreciate the quality and care. I had a construction firm in another state and one of us is an engineer. So we have an eye for construction quality. Since we aged past 60, we looked for a contractor with a good reputation. After we researched all the “Angie’s List” reports, Hunter Builders shone. That was 7 years ago. Once we hired them and saw them in action we were actually pleased to discover a contractor with focus and attention to detail.

Excellent estimates and meticulous work. Hunter Builders was our first choice on four remodels: (1) interior wall changes for kitchen and dining room, (2) 2nd story roofing of exterior balcony complete with matching architectural vigas and stucco. Vigas and stucco matched exactly, looked as if was original and neighbors have taken photos to get HOA permission to do same!, (3) exterior roofed back yard patio extension, (4) installation of retractable stairs and roof door to give us safe access to our flat roof. It’s great! 4 years and never any leaks! We are the envy of our neighbors and no more worries about falling off ladders to get onto roof to service the cooler.

We like to DIY, but once we had guests coming and needed to finish faster than we could go—Hunter Builders worked us into their schedule, came with four men, they worked fast and finished it all in one day.

Their finish work exceeds the normal standards. Once a subcontractor’s roofing work was not snug and Mr. Hunter came and corrected it at no charge. Another time the City messed up and didn’t do the final inspection. Mr. Hunter came back a year later and saw it through and made sure the City did their job at no extra charge to us. When he does a remodel for us we have peace of mind.
