Recently had a wonderful experience with Horch Roofing. I just had my home's old shingles removed and new shingles installed by Horch. The foreman and crew were excellent!!! Very courteous and respectful to me and my home. The arrived at 9:00 a.m. and were totally done by 5:30 p.m. They never stopped!! Crew was so efficient. Everyone had a role to play, and they worked as a team. I found the price to be reasonable to the job performed!

We are delighted with our standing seam metal roof by Horch Roofing. The crew completed a complex job neatly and efficiently. They did a great job of cleaning up the site. The crew had a great work ethic (staying on the job into the evening when the weather was good). Other companies offered to do the job at a lower cost, but we did not have confidence that they would do such a good job. We made the right choice!

Four members of the Horch Roofing team interacted with me over several days. Each of them was courteous and knowledgeable as we worked through the available options. After selecting repair vs replacement, they provided a description, with photos, of the repairs, and a very realistic assessment of the uncertainties that remained. They helped me in making an informed decision and I will happily have them back a second time if replacement is required.

Horch roofing did a great job communicating the time frame for our metal roof installation and we were pleased with the quality of the work. Additionally, there was no cleanup afterwards. Siding that was damaged was replaced and repainted and all the litter was removed.

The Horch folks were meticulous. After the bulk of the project was completed, they paid special attention to the cosmetic details so that everything looked perfect!

Horch Roofing installed a metal roof on my house in May. They are a great group to work with. Alex did the estimate and answered all my questions and kept in touched with me while I was waiting for the other companies estimates. His estimate was very detailed compared to the other companies. Tori got my work schedule fast and the team that showed up to my house at 7am and left at 2pm. They put down tarps, striped the old asphalt shingles off, and cleaned up the old shingles and nails. The lawn looked like it did before they show up. My new roof looks great and has been through a couple of rain storms and it has no leaks. I am very satisfied with the company..

The entire experience, from my first call to report a leak in our 40 year old asphalt roof, to Alex's visit to advise us, to my communication with you, were timely, friendly, and professional. Money is tight right now, but from those first points of contact we felt that Horch was the company to choose. I was lucky enough to be home the day the job was done so I could watch the crew in action. I have to say I have never seen such a well organized job site and such hard workers. My dad was a builder and I know exceptional work when I see it. The foreman, Bobby, did a great job keeping me informed of their progress and answering any questions that I had. And at the end of their 12 hour day in the grueling sun and humidity, they cleaned up and left the place as if they'd never been here, leaving behind our beautiful new roof.

We had our entire standing seam metal roof replaced near the end of September 2024 by Horch Roofing. From the beginning, in the quote/estimate phase, through the completion of our job, it was an absolute pleasure working with Horch! The crew was a machine and had to strip a layer of shingles underneath the old metal roof, and really worked hard completing the entire removal and replacement in two days. Very hard workers. In fact, while wrapping up and getting ready to leave, one of the crew noticed me towing my broken, older lawn mower with a different one - and when he saw trying to steer the towed one wasn’t working - he pit his lunch down, jumped out of the truck - and jumped on the old mower to steer. I have used Horch on two homes and highly recommend them! Again, many thanks to the entire organization who enjoys what they do - and that you can feel and see in the work they do. God bless!

We had great results with Horch Roofing, which handled installation of gutters and snow guards on key sections of our roof in Midcoast Maine. The newly installed materials have held up nicely throughout the recent snow, rain and ice events in our area, and have solved problems we had with water drainage and snow drift accumulation. We were very happy with Horch’s workmanship and customer service.

The crew did an excellent job installing our seamless gutters. Very happy with that job along with the roofing shingle job completed in 2022. Would recommend them to anyone!

Good communication from the office regarding scheduling and what to expect. Work was reasonably priced, done well and on time. The crew was friendly and efficient.

My project was a workshop roof. I was running late getting to my initial meeting with Alex and he had the courtesy and patience to wait. Estimate was received promptly- Once i sent my deposit they were here within a couple weeks. The crew arrived at 8 am- project completed by 3 pm with no evidence, other than the roof, they had been here. Unreal. Now i have a dry, comfortable work space. Estimates were timely and accurate. They accommodated us when we changed our plans from metal to shingle. When they began the project they were timely, efficient and neat. We would definitely recommend them.

I’m picky. I’ve done 3 projects with Horch Roofing now and had zero issues. Treated me like they want my business, rates reasonable for the quality of work and materials used, efficient, and cleaned everything up. Getting ready to use them on a fourth project.

The Horch crew did a replacement of our mudroom roof with a metal roof in Terra Cotta color that matches our trim very well.
Not a big job but the big crew that arrived was very efficient and well trained. Also, a company that supports Lifeflight of Maine is a good outfit in my book.

My experience was great! Horch came through when I, no exaggeration, could not even get a return call from others.

The process was handled expertly from start to finish. The crew was efficient. The site was left tidy!

Absolutely outstanding crew. They paused for about 30 mins for lunch, but were otherwise akin to very large ants crawling over the roof...perpetually in motion and simply getting things done.
Pulled off the old standing seam roof and discovered nearly half the roof needed decking replaced. That discovery barely made a blip on their timeline. Replaced decking, brand new perfect standing seam roof...and they were even able to re attach the flagpole brace on our 1800s schoolhouse.
Recommend Horch unconditionally and a special shout out to that crew. Outstanding.

Horch Roofing is great to work with. Even though our project is
a little tricky logistically, Horch was communicative and arrived on schedule. The foreman and crew were friendly and knowledgeable. They encountered a major rot area on the roof and immediately brought it to my attention. With a phone call from the project manager we came up with a plan. Horch had to leave the island while the framing was fixed and were back in a timely manner to complete the roof project. I am completely comfortable with how Horch, from office to crew, handled what could have been a disastrous situation with outstanding professionalism.

Working with Horch was one of the easiest processes we've gone through when getting home repair work done.

John our estimator showed up promptly after we inquired about getting work done and stayed in touch with us about any schedule changes or updates. He even circled back with samples to help us match the existing shingles as closely as possible.

Once we we were done with getting a contract in place we were passed off to Tori in production. She also stayed in contact and kept us informed with updates and estimated dates for the work to be done.

The roofing crew showed up and did a tremendous job in a short amount of time. All while keeping our property clean and answering any questions that came up.

If we need any more roofing work in the future, Horch will be the first company we call. Thanks again for a great experience!

Had our roof redone yesterday. The crew was all Ecuadorian and they were great. Took them about 30 minutes to set up and off they went, just great. They replaced our roof, a skylight and reflashed 2 chimneys. They even took down and reattached our Directv dish. Today there's a knock on our door and it's the Horch GM who asked if they could do a walk around to make sure everything was done properly!

Horch was excellent- They came with a team of 8 plus people, stripped our roof and reshingled both sides within a day. They were responsive, and cleaned up totally. Highly recommended.

The re-roofing was fast, and the Horch team was careful to avoid damaging anything around the house and then meticulous in cleaning up after the work was done.

We had an awful experience with Horch that appears to be unique - all the other reviews seem really positive so I have no idea why our experience was so bad. We contact Horch in Oct 2023 to have our roof redone. Our roof badly needed to be replaced, we had leaks everywhere and it was really on its last legs. We contracted Horch for the following things:
1) strip the existing shingles, remove the skylights
2) build a new roof deck
3) add insulation
4) install a new metal roof
Our sales estimator (Alex) said that Horch doesn't actually build the roof deck but he said they worked with carpenters and could provide us someone to get the work done. They gave us a timeline of work beginning in April 2024. We agreed and gave them a 20% deposit.

In April, we reached out to see what the next steps were and how to contact one of their recommended carpenters - got no response. Finally, in June, we found our own carpenter. Our carpenter was concerned with Horch's original estimate that stated that Horch would strip the roof (he was curious what the timeline would look like and who would be responsible for which work). We decided to have a meeting between our carpenter, our sales estimator from Horch, and the roofing superintendent so that everyone could get on the same page about the work that we were doing, how it was being accomplished, and what the timeline would be. The representatives from Horch AGREED AT THAT MEETING with all the work, shook hands and left.

Our carpenter starts the work, stripping the roof, removing leaky skylights, and installing new roof deck in July. We reach out to the scheduling coordinator at Horch (Krystin) to figure out what the timeline is. She gets very curt with us and says that Horch doesn't approve of the work we're doing and they won't be able to install the insulation based on how we're building the roof deck (keep in mind, this is like two weeks after a meeting in which THEY AGREED TO THIS WORK). After considerable back and forth between Horch, our carpenter and us, Horch says that the carpenter can install the insulation because they don't understand how to do it. To be clear - our carpenter was framing in a roof deck and then adding sheets of polyiso insulation. I (naively) assumed that for a roofing company, this wouldn't cause any consternation. Horch seemed absolutely baffled by our request no matter who we talked to - Alex, Krystin, or the GM Devon.

Fine, so its a roofing company that doesn't understand how to insulate a roof! Odd but at this point we were just desperate to get a roof on, so we got our carpenter to agree to insulate the roof and waterproof it.

Horch had already ordered the material for our roof so they said they'd deliver it. They delivered, and this is not a joke, 4 TIMES the amount of insulation needed to insulate our roof based on the specifications that THEY PROVIDED. Thus began another insane delay in back and forth as they tried to get us to pay for 4 TIMES the material needed for our roof. We ended up contacting the distributor by ourselves to get the distributor to return it because dealing with Horch was such an agonizing process.

At this point (now into September 2024) we were like what on earth is wrong with this company and we ended our contract with them. It's October 2024 and we have new roofers coming to do the work. It literally delayed our roof for AN ENTIRE YEAR to deal with Horch.

In summary, of the 4 original things we asked Horch to do, they did none of them except order the wrong amount of material and try to charge us for it. It has been a year of incredible stress and frustration trying to get any answers from them and I wouldn't wish this process on my worst enemy. Absolutely awful. I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

We were very pleased with Horch, having tried to get a couple of smaller companies to do our garage. Everyone we dealt with was professional and helpful; we made a couple of changes to the contract along the way, and one on the fly the day-of, all handled smoothly. And the crew, so skilled and fast! Just took a few hours.

We hired Horch for the first time to reroof our detached garage last month, as a neighbor recommended their work. I've never had any roofing work done in the past without finding little clear plastic strips and old nails all over my yard. This time, there was virtually no evidence that work had been done other than a beautiful new roof! Tony B was *outstanding* to work with and really went above and beyond in helping us select the right shingle color. He seemed genuinely invested in our small project and was just a really nice person. The team at Horch made the process easy (and quick) and I would highly recommend their services!

Horch has done 3 roofs for me in the last year from asphalt and steel and every time was a great job

The Horch Roofing repair crew came yesterday and repaired damage to our asphalt roof from winter storms. They worked quickly and cleaned up completely after themselves. I have every confidence that the repair is as good as can be achieved.
I am beyond pleased that they made this repair; we had tried several other roofers and contractors over several months but basically got no response. frp, tje, Kudos to Horch for not just having a well-managed repair crew but for doing such a good job!

The process of getting my roof was a wild ride. I was given 3 different dates that the crew would come out and do their initial flashing installation. The first time, the salesman/estimator didn’t communicate with the scheduler, resulting in us never being put on the schedule. When our salesman/estimator was confronted about his mistake, he instead passed the buck and lied to save face. I find myself to be a pretty easy customer to please, but lying and not communicating is unacceptable to me. The second time, they just didn’t show up and there was zero communication. When I reached out, they said bad weather (that didn’t happen) from the previous week got them held up. The third time, the crew misunderstood where they were supposed to be so they didn’t show up. When they finally showed up, they said it would only take an hour, which would allow my contractor to complete his work before the final roof was installed. It actually took 3 1/2 hours, which prevented my contractor from being able to complete his work that same day.

On the day roof installation finally rolled around, it was rainy in the morning until around 10. The crew arrived at my house around 8:30. They unloaded everything just to load it back up and leave without saying anything. My husband and I thought maybe they had gone somewhere to wait out the rain and would return later. They never returned that day. I was later told that they had spoken to someone at the house to let them know. They never once knocked on our door or otherwise tried to make contact with us.

I would say a major flaw that we observed is that there’s really no communication between the project manager and the client. I actually didn’t even get his name until I reached out to the scheduler wondering why the crew hadn’t shown up yet. The only real communication available was talking to him in person. It’s really hard to plan your day around roofers when you never actually know if they’re going to show up or not. Having the project managers send an email or call the clients if they won’t be coming would have created a lot less frustration in my case.

I would like to make clear that communication with the metal roof scheduler, Krystin, was amazing. She was responsive, communicative, and apologized when hiccups occurred. She can’t control if the crew actually shows up and she was on vacation when the second instance of the crew not showing up occurred. If not for Krystin, my husband and I would’ve honestly switched to a different company, even after we had already paid our deposit.

I would also like to note that I have no complaints about the crew who actually installed the roof. They worked late into the evenings and did a thorough job cleaning up our yard. Our roof looks great, I just wish the process hadn’t been so frustrating.

Until communication improves at Horch, I would not recommend them to anyone. When you tell a client that you’ll be at their home at a certain time, you need to follow through or alert them about a change of plans. We were left in the dark way too many times and this waiting game seriously delayed construction on my home.

This was my first experience using Horch Roofing, and was extremely please right from the start! Very professional and knowledgeable that had my problem solved quickly!! I will certainly contact them again if needed in the future!!

I now love rainy days. The best part is watching rain flow from the downspouts at the ends of my new gutter system. Rain used to create mold on my back clapboards and, if there was a real downpour, it would sneak into my back porch room. Now the water gracefully flows away.
I also want to thank the team that did the work. They were thoughtful and fun to have around.

Worked with our timeline and the weather as well as possible. They were quick and cleaned up completely. When they had a question, they reached out to clarify immediately and answered our questions promptly.

We at Fairview Farms had one of our roofs replaced very recently. We couldn't be any happier with the process. The crew came in early am and left around dinner time. It took them two days to complete the new roof. It was a large crew that stripped off all the old shingles and put on the new. They were completely organized and professional throughout the whole process. They cleaned any and all debris up and took to the dump. When all was done they walk around with magnetic sweeps and made sure that to remove any nails that may had fallen.

I recommend them highly for all the above reasons and will be using them again as we have 3 more buildings that will need roofs in the next few years.

The team who took care of replacing my house and garage roof were fantastic! They took every precaution of covering shrubs and my vegetable garden. They were quick, efficient and thorough. After the work was done, the team made sure they cleaned up my driveway, and my neighbor's driveway. They also went over my lawn, front, back, and sides, to make sure there were no nails lying around. They certainly were a friendly, and gracious team. Thank you all for a beautiful job!

Horch Roofing prepares precise, thorough and very detailed contracts. The Project Manager, Paul G., is very personable and represents the company very well. The roofers possess an excellent work ethic. At least for older houses like mine, they use good quality boards instead of cdx plywood or particle board when necessary. The cleanup at the end of the job is superb.

The work was as proposed. The crew leader managed the sight efficiently and with care. All adjustments, which were expected, were effectively communicated. I recommend Horch without reservation.

I was pleased with the roof and the skylights, but the stains on my back porch from something white on the mens' shoes is still visible. I have reported this two times, and nothing has been done to remedy it. The porch was freshly painted and the stains should not be there. I sent pictures last fall.

Horch Roofing is a reliable, professional company with courteous, hard working staff from the schedulers to the roofers. Their work was excellent installing our new gutters. Only a few months later during a major winter storm part of a large tree fell on the roof and new gutters. Horch was quick to assess the damage and made repairs soon after. The communication throughout the project was great. They took care to clean up the site. Highly recommended.

Our project included a new asphalt roof on the upper and metal on the lower roof. We were extremely satisfied with the entire project, especially with the level of communication throughout -- we never felt in the dark, and always knew what to expect. Despite the weather, the actual project took two days. The crew showed up on time, worked diligently and did a good job cleaning up. The results were wonderful. Last Fall when I was asking for bids on this job I spoke with five different roofing contractors - Horsch gave us an extremely competitive bid, explained all of our choices and and showed up to do the work as agreed. Several of the other roofing contractors told us that they were a first class company. It is the mark of a great company when your competitors speak well of you. I have already recommended them to several of our neighbors and would use them again in a moment.

The Horch Team were very efficient. They had the old shingles off of the roof and the new ones installed in 4.5 hrs. They did a great job with cleaning up all of the debris. The new shingles look awesome. I highly recommend Horch to anyone looking to get a new roof.

There is a saying in Maine that basically states anyone can be a roofer and this is true, but not every roofer is the right roofer. Horch Roofing came highly recommended from a friend so I reached out to them about my Grandparents place in the Blue Hill area a couple of years ago. Tim was the Sales Estimator and was diligent, professional, and more importantly on time! He called when he said he would call, showed up on time, and spent as more than enough time talking to myself and grandparents through the process (and he liked our dogs and cats which was nice to see!). The estimate was a little more than we thought it would be, but was still very competitive with the others and we really appreciated the PDF with all the information we could ever want. The communication between everyone at Horch Roofing proved to be amazing as Meg (the Production Coordinator) was able to work with our schedule requests and a couple of changes to the project. Brett was the Project Manager and was amazing with his knowledge about roofing, his humor, and I loved his interaction with his crew. I cannot stress enough how impressed we were with the sub-crew and Brett. They showed up on time, immediately started working and worked late into the day to get the project done in one day. And the best part was the cleanup. 2+ years later and we still have not found one nail or one piece of shingle debris. My parents were impressed enough that they are going to be calling Horch Roofing when they get back next Spring to do their roof!

terrible work ethic On their new hires. Extremely unprofessional across-the-board. Also got hurt on the job because of a decision made by a kid they made foreman who had zero construction experience before that job and they tried to sweep it under the rug and "laid me off" shortly after. SUCKED. They decided to strip my roof on a day with thunderstorms forecasted. Sky opened up and many leaks

It's still leaking today, March 10, 2024 as it has EVERY TIME IT RAINS FROM THE EAST FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS AND HORSCH CANNOT OR WILL NOT FIX THE LEAK. This roof never leaked once in 20 years until Horsch Roofing re-did our roof two years ago and now it always does . They will not respond with a serious effort to fix it. Beware.

Horch replaced our very complicated roof a year ago. In doing other work we discovered a cricket that needed attention. We reached out to Zach who ran it through channels and within two weeks the cricket was complete. We chose Horch for their longevity and their reputation. In a time when the words " customer service" are tossed around freely, Horch proved that, for their company,they are words to live by.
Thank you to Stacey, Zach, and Megan as well as the workers who patiently returned 3 different days to ensure the job was done correctly. This is one cricket that wont chirp or leak!
