Customer feedback regarding Home Depot is predominantly negative, highlighting significant issues with customer service, installation processes, and communication. Many reviewers express frustration at the lack of assistance from employees and poor response times from customer service. Additionally, there are complaints about being charged upfront without proper itemization and experiencing delays in refunds. Customers report dissatisfaction with the quality and reliability of third-party contractors used for installations, leading to an overall lack of confidence in the services provided.
- Fair prices and a big selection.
- I coordinated a carpet estimate from here and had great service from the employee at the store as well as our estimator.
- Many employees saw me looking and no one helped.
- The sales person ordered the wrong kitchen sink.
- We asked HD for our money back, deciding to go with Lowe's instead since this was a huge waste of time.
- Home Depot in Boulder subcontracted our kitchen remodel order out to several of their business partners who dropped the ball.
- Now: they want $1000 for the INSTALLATION ALONE? This is OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPRICED.

Just got to Mcguckins where the employees will actually help you and know what they're talking about. Went in on a Sunday afternoon with the item I needed another of in hand. Walked up to a group of 6 employees taking and asked if they had it. One said he didn't know, one point me in a direction and she said "IF we have it, it's over there". Many employees saw me looking and no one helped. The lower cost versions of everything I needed were out of stock. When I came out of that aisle and paused to look around to see where I needed to go, the same employees looked at me without saying a single thing.

We hired The Home Depot to install new quartz countertops along with sinks and faucets in our kitchen and hall bathroom. Home Depot Services collected the money up front and did not provide an itemization of the sink and faucets. The sales person ordered the wrong kitchen sink. We ordered and paid for the sink we wanted separately. On May 18th, the sales person sent me a change order showing that we would receive a refund of $313.20. Since then, we have emailed and called numerous times asking when they would issue the refund. One hundred fifty (150) days have passed and they still haven't issued the refund or responded to our inquiries. Today I disputed the charges with the credit card company. There were numerous other problems with Home Depot. They put our project on hold without telling us. We expected them to move forward at the end of June. The Home Depot people wrongly decided the island could hold the weight of the quartz countertop, but Home Depot did not tell anyone that was the reason for the holdup. The people who actually do the work were able to resolve the issue. The installation took place at the end of August. Materials were never an issue. The delay was caused by lack of communication and professionalism on the part of Home Depot. The bathroom faucet leaks. We have contacted Home Depot numerous times. They finally sent the plumber to fix it. The plumber let us know that the brand new faucet is faulty. I can't return it to the Home Depot store because we used their installation services. The branch manager does not follow up with us. It's okay to buy products from The Home Depot, but DO NOT EVER use their installation services. We went through the Longmont Colorado store for our remodel. Huge mistake. The actual installation companies did great work. Front Range did a great job installing the countertops. The tile people did a great job with the backsplash. This job would have gone smoothly if we had not used Home Depot Installation Services.

Not only will I never shop at the Boulder Home Depot ever again, I won't even shop at a different location. Not even for lightbulbs. Home Depot has lost my business for life.
We hired them to design our kitchen, which was our first mistake. The designer never came to our home; she merely relied on faulty measurements and photos taken by another Home Depot employee. They hire contractors for installations, and they absolve themselves of any responsibility. So if you think you're protected because they are "bonded and insured", they aren't. Their contractors are, but they typically take the lowest bidding company in town, so you're not getting very skilled workers in your home.
Their contractor sent a low-skilled worker to install kitchen cabinets, who then cut the water line to our fridge, which was not noted on the work order, and replaced it with a plastic hose incorrectly. When our water was turned back on, well after he left our house, it popped off the back of the fridge and flooded our home. We had to get our floors replaced, through our own home insurance because Home Depot and the contractor refused to take responsibility, citing that the worker did not write down on the form that he cut the hose. He was questioned about it later, and lied. The contractor told us they couldn't let go of every worker they had complaints about because then they wouldn't have any workers left. The contractor is willfully allowing workers to stay on after they damage customers' homes. The Boulder store manager was equally appalling in his conduct, and we complained to corporate, but they were not the least bit concerned.
The damage took a year to fix, the countertops are not installed correctly, and we hired a different company to install our new flooring.
If you are considering hiring Home Depot for design or installation of any sort, I strongly urge you to reconsider. I waited a year to write a review, hoping they would do the right thing and at least reimburse us for our $500 home insurance deductible. The anguish alone wasn't worth it. Go somewhere else.
Side note - since this traumatic experience occurred, we have purchased new flooring for other parts of our home, a new washer and dryer, and other appliance/tools/household items from other retailers in the area. By refusing to do the right thing, Home Depot has lost thousands of dollars from our household alone, not to mention the dozen other households of friends and family who have since heeded our warning. Good luck on your home improvements. I hope no one ever has to go through what we went through.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
